It was raining.

Beca liked the rain, she really did. She just didn't fully appreciate it today. She had a lot to do (well, she had to finish reading this stupid essay that was way too long and overly wordy), and she was way too tired to do it.

Wednesday was hard enough without a nice, slow rain that makes her want to curl up in bed, or in that comfy chair in the lounge, with a book and her headphones on.

She shakes her head, trying to wake up a little bit.

It doesn't help.

She's just standing up to walk around and maybe get a cup of coffee when there's a knock at her door.

Puzzled, she glances through the peep-hole. It's Chloe.

Chloe has a habit of showing up completely unexpected.

Beca doesn't mind this habit one bit.

She opens the door and lets the redhead into her room.

"Hey, Chlo."

"Hi! Sorry, I forgot my umbrella and didn't want to walk all the way to my dorm in the rain with my laptop in my bag. Can I borrow your umbrella?"

Beca laughs. "Yes, or you could stay and hang out for a little bit? If you're not busy, that is."

"I would love to stay and hang out with you, Becs." Chloe says, beaming.

"Good. I can't get through this reading without falling asleep."

Chloe smiles and takes her jacket off before sitting down on Beca's bed. "I'm sure it's not that bad. What are we listening to today?"

"It's that bad. I promise. I'm playing my film score playlist right now, is that okay?"

"That's perfect!"

Beca sits back down at her desk and continues reading, having more success than she had previously.

Chloe leans back against Beca's many pillows (She had a lot. It was almost an issue.) and pulls her laptop out of her bag.

Beca enjoys the comfortable silence, which is filled by the soft sound of the rain tapping on the window and Chloe's quiet humming coming from beside her. She finishes the reading finally and leans back in her chair to stretch.

Chloe glances up at her. "Done?"

"Yeah, finally."

She pats the bed beside her, telling Beca to come sit by her without saying anything out loud.

She listens.

What can she say? She's whipped.

She leans up against the pillow wall next to Chloe, who points to her computer screen.

"What should we watch?"

"Beale, you know I don't do movies."

"Mitchell, I know you don't do movies, but I also know that you secretly like some movies."

She sighs in defeat.

"Okay, uhh.. You pick."

Chloe grins. "Romance!"

"Of course."

Chloe picks out some random movie while Beca stands up to make some popcorn and grab drinks for the pair. She returns and sets the snacks on her nightstand carefully.

"Ooh, you know me so well." Chloe says, cracking open the can of Code Red Mountain Dew that Beca has brought her.

Beca likes to tease her and tell her that she's going to turn into a can of Code Red and that her hair is already halfway there.

Chloe actually thinks this is funny and adorable because, well, Beca is the one saying it.

Beca returns to her spot next to Chloe and watches her adjust the laptop on Beca's desk until she deems that it's, "Perfect!"

She presses play and sits down next to Beca.

Beca is only focused on the amount of Chloe that is touching her at the moment.

She rests her head on Beca's shoulder and Beca moves her arm around Chloe's body to get more comfortable.

For a moment, they both wonder if this is acceptable for "just friends."

It probably isn't.

Neither of them care.

Beca falls asleep not even half an hour into the movie and Chloe smiles, cuddling into the brunette and closing her own eyes.

When Beca wakes up, it's dark outside. Chloe is wrapped around her body.

Beca's face heats up. She doesn't know how to properly address this situation.

Luckily enough, she doesn't have to. Chloe's eyes open a few minutes later and she yawns.

"Hi." She says with a sleepy smile. "What time is it?"

Beca picks up her phone from the nightstand. "Uh.. 9:00 PM"

Chloe giggles. "Nice. That was a really good nap."

"I have to agree."

"I should probably get back before Aubrey explodes."

"Probably. Though, it wouldn't be a shame if she did.." Beca says with a laugh, only half kidding.

Chloe rolls her eyes and laughs.

They both stand up and put shoes on.

Chloe gives her a weird look. "What are you doing?"

"Walking you home." Beca says simply, grabbing a jacket from her closet.

She doesn't see Chloe's cheeks turn pink or the shy, content smile on her face.

They leave Beca's room and hesitate in the hallway for a moment while Beca locks her door.

It has stopped raining, but the concrete is wet and it still smells great. Beca points this out.

"You're such a pluviophile, Bec."

"I know."

They end up in front of Chloe's door after a few minutes and stop there.

"Thanks for walking me home. You really didn't have to."

"Oh, of course. I wanted to make sure you made it back safe."

Chloe smiles and bites her lip. "Will you text me when you get back to your room?"

"Yes. I will."

"Okay."

Beca suddenly feels confident. She's not really sure why.. but she does.

She places her hands on Chloe's waist and gently pulls her closer.

Their lips are inches apart and she hesitates for a second before she kisses Chloe softly.

When she breaks away, she looks up and searches the redhead's eyes for any sign of a reaction.

Chloe breathes out slowly. "Wow."

"Wow, indeed."

Beca smiles nervously, suddenly unsure of her impulsive decision. "Uh, I'll see you tomorrow, Chloe."

"Okay.. Text me when you get home."

"Okay." She says, jamming her hands into her pockets, and turning to head back toward her own room.

"And.. Beca?"

She turns around again, looking at her in confusion. "Yeah?"

Chloe steps forward and kisses her again. "We'll talk about this tomorrow."

Beca laughs, relieved. "Okay. Goodnight Chloe."

"Goodnight Beca."

Hello everyone!

I know, it's been ages since I've posted anything. I'm super sorry. I have a bunch of half-finished drabbles sitting around and no motivation to write.

I got re-inspired for this one and finished it up so I could share. I hope you enjoyed! Please leave a review if so, and if you have any prompts, send them my way! I love to write but sometimes get bored with my own ideas.

Thanks again for reading! x
