A Court Scandal

Chapter Ten

Days have past since the celebrations in which Henry took Jane to be his lawfully wed wife and Queen. However, the day before Anne was given the news that her beloved daughter shall leave court and return to her country residence because court was not a place for a royal child to live.

During the morning meal on this day that they share every time that Brandon visits her bed the night before. However, this morning meal is different due to their conversation in which they have while eating.

"My dear wife, I wish to take you to visit my estate in Suffolk" says Brandon knowing that this shall be a difficult time for Anne as Elizabeth leaves court once more on Henry's orders.

Anne replies happily "Of course, it shall be delightful" knowing that this hopeful would give her a chance to create a foundation of friendship away from court.

The same day in which Elizabeth and her household departs for Hatfield, Brandon escorts Anne to his estate in which he now shares with his new bride. Their the newly married couple stay for weeks getting to know each other better as they gradually build a strong friendship before returning to court for the King's birthday celebrations.

Months have past since Henry's June birthday celebrations as well as the young Princess's third birthday. The nobles of court was carefully watching for signs that their Queen was with child but more importantly the Seymour family as well. As they knew that they shall be favour when their Janey gave birth to Henry's desired son.

During their evening meal that Brandon and Anne share in her apartments. When their conversation turns to their children's upcoming visit to court for this Yule celebrations.

Anne beaming brightly with happiness says "Husband, I have some news that I share with you"

Brandon asks taking Anne's hand into his hand "What is it my wife?" going through different possibilities.

"I am with child" says Anne kissing Brandon with lovingly on the mouth "According to the midwife, we shall add another child to our family in the summer of next year"

"That is wonderful news that I can't wait to share with our children" says Brandon proudly at the thought of having another child knowing that this child shall change their relationship forever.

Brandon and Anne carefully plan how to tell their children this exciting news of their baby brother or sister.

That evening in the Queen's apartments, Jane carefully mentions to Henry "Husband, I have a craving for sweet cakes" while they where enjoying their meal.

"Of course, I shall have someone bring you some for a snack later tonight" states Henry offering to satisfy this wife's wants.

With Henry not getting her message about her particular craving, Jane blurts out "I have a craving for sweet cakes became I am with child" knowing that those words would be his greatest Yule present this year.

"When shall their addition to the royal nursery" says Henry knowing that the child might be a early birthday present to himself from his beloved Queen.

"According to the royal midwife, we shall have our Prince in our arms in the summer of next year" says Jane happily mentioning only the thought that she was carrying their son and not a daughter.

Henry kisses Jane on the cheek to say "We shall announce this wonderful news at the Yule celebrations which is days away but it shall be kept I secret until then" looking at his beloved Queen he adds "We shall tell both Mary and Elizabeth together when they arrive at court"

Instead of sharing Jane's bed that evening, Henry sought out one of his wife's ladies-in-waiting to share his bed because there was no need to jeopardize the child in Jane's womb for his own pleasure.
