I slowly woke up. The room was dark. I was lying on a cold bed. 'Freezing' I tried to cuddle with the blankets. "How's she doing?" a deep voice asked. "She received quite a blow to the head, but with enough rest she should be alright.
Though she might have temporary memory lost" a softer voice replied.
"She's been sleeping for days Mirajane. How is she fine?" the voice argued.
"Don't worry Gajeel. She'll be fine. She just needs to rest"
'What are they talking about?' "Ahhh" I groaned grabbing my head. "Juvi. You're awake" smiled Gajeel letting a blinding light in. My eyes had to wait until it fully adjusted to the sudden brightness.
"No Juvia is still asleep" I said sarcastically. "I'm sorry" his knees hit the ground. "What for Gajeel-kun?" I asked. "I could of saved you, but I wasn't fast enough" he whispered. "It's not Gajeel-kun's fault. No one would of known Juvia was going to fall and it all happened to quickly" I plastered a smile on my face.
The sudden gusts of wind and a tight embrace, left me shock. "It hurts doesn't it?" he whispered softly. 'H-how'd Gajeel-kun know?' I thought. He asked again. Tears formed in my eyes.
I hugged him back. "Yes...it hurts" I whispered back as we stayed like that. "Not too worry Juvi. You'll get better soon, and the pain will be gone" Gajeel smiled, making my heart race.
"Juvia. You're awake" Erza ran pulling me in a tight hug, which was too tight for my liking. "Juvia...can't breathe" I struggled to get the words out. "We heard she woke up!" two more voices yelled.
This time a blond and white hair girl walked in. "Who are... Ah Lucy-san! Lisanna-san!" I smiled remembering my roommates. "How's your head?" Lucy asked in a worried tone. I touched the bandages on my head.
"Juvia's head hurts a little" I smiled weakly. "Juvia. If you're not feeling well you can skip school tomorrow. I can write principle Makarov a letter" Mirajane smiled sweetly. "Thank you Mira-san" I smiled.
"Juvia feels fine. Just a little pain. But nothing Juvia can't handle" I ensured grabbing my arm muscle. "Don't push yourself" Erza said sternly. I felt a large hand on mine. I looked down to the large hand which covered mine, then up to Gajeel.
He gave me a light squeeze. I could feel my cheeks become hotter. "I'm glad your awake Juvi. You've been sleeping for days" he patted my head. "Did Juvia miss a lot?" I asked. "Well...Lucy and Natsu seem to be getting quite chummy" Lisanna smirked.
"Shut up" Lucy groaned, flushing pure red. "Lucy-san! That's amazing!" I grabbed her hands excitedly. She smiled back with rosy cheeks. "We should get going now" Erza said pushing the others out.
"Oh and Juvia me and the others won't be home tonight. We have student council meeting. So we'll be back the next day" Erza popped her head in once more before leaving.
'Oh no. Juvia doesn't like to be alone' I thought as I tried to remain calm. I went to get up but Mira softly pushed me down. "Sorry Juvia, but I just need to keep you here for a while to do some check ups" she gave me an apologetic look.
"Ah. Okay" I smiled getting back into the bed. "Well it doesn't seem anything is wrong, so you are free to go. But how's your head?" Mira asked. "Feeling better, arigatoue Mira-san" I smiled. "Remember Juvia, don't do any sudden movements for at lest a couple of hours. It could bring back the pain"
"Hai~~" I exited the room. "Juvia!" I heard a voice. I turned around to find a handsome young man. "Hello?" I greeted. "I see you finally woke up. How's your head?" he flashed a handsome smile.
"Juvia is feeling okay...umm may Juvia ask something?" "Sure. What's up?" he asked interested. "Who are you?" silence filled the air. I felt uncomfortable. The smile he had disappeared in an instant.
'Is he just going to stand there?' I thought becoming a little impatient. His laughter finally broke the silence. "Good one Juvia" he patted my back. "You actually got me" he wiped a tear away.
My face twisted in confusion, and he seemed to notice. "You really don't know me" his voice was shaky. "No sorry. Should Juvia remember you?" I asked. His face paled. Eyes drained. Lips fell.
"I'm Gray. You know. Gray-san" I shook my head once again. "Gomen Gray-san. Anyways it's getting late and Juvia must return back to her dorm" I politely said my good-bye before strolling down the hall.
'He was very handsome' I thought as I walked down the road. When I reached the gate of my dorm Gajeel was already outside. "Waiting for Juvia?" I smiled. "Yeah I still owe ya to dinner. And I don't want you to come back asking for favours" he chucked.
"We'll let Juvia get ready and we shall go" I headed up the stairs before he could respond. In a matter of a few minuets I came downstairs and we walked the light filled streets. "Don't you look nice" he complimented.
My face flushed. I stayed silent. And averted eye contact. He looked at me worriedly as we sat down and ordered our food. Not much conversation was made. It felt weird having the guy I knew since childhood sitting directly in front of me looking handsome in just a simple plain white shirt and ripped jeans.
And here I was fully dressed in a blue semi-formal dress with black heels on. 'Juvia looks so out of place' I blushed at my own stupidity. I started playing with the hem of my dress. Fixing my hair. Twirling my thumbs past each other.
"Don't worry Juvi. You look beautiful" Gajeel said surprising me. I blushed at the compliment. "Juvia feels out of place" I confessed. "Don't worry. Out of everyone I'm most out of place. I'm dressed to casually" he reassured.
And now that I looked around he was right. The place was elegantly decorated with fine fabric and golden chandeliers. I chuckled. "Gajeel-kun always makes Juvia feel better" I smiled.
Gajeel was the one to pay for our meals. It was getting late. "Juvia should be heading back home" I said sadly. "I'll walk you home" Gajeel insisted. We walked in a comfortable silence for a short while.
I looked up at him. He was extremely handsome. He looked amazing even in such simple clothing. "Ne Gajeel-" "Shrimp!" Gajeel's eyes seemed to light up when he saw the short bluenette.
"Surprise to see you out this late" he teased. "It's no shocker to see you out this late. And the names Levy" the short girl glared at him. 'I remember...' Levy McGarden. Cute. Short. Nice. Quite the bookworm. Adorable. And smart too.
The look on Gajeel's face was without a doubt the look of someone in love. '...so she's the girl Gajeel-kun fancies' I thought sadly. "Juvi? What are you waiting for?" Gajeel snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Ah sorry Juvia was just thinking" I plastered a smile. "Well good night Juvi" he kissed my forehead lightly. "Night" I managed to say above a whisper. I touched my forehead. The place he kissed was hot. My cheeks were flushed.
"You like him don't you?" hot breath tickled my ear. I shivered as I faced the person. "Gray-san!" I practically shouted. "Do you like him?" he asked watching Gajeel walk away. "Eh? O-o-of course not. Gajeel-kun is Juvia's childhood friend" I averted my eyes.
"Really? Then you wouldn't mind that Gajeel and Levy are going out tomorrow?" he asked. My eyes widened. "What? Gajeel-kun is going on a date with Levy-san?" I grabbed his shirt.
"I can help you spy on them"my eyes lightened. "Really!? Gray-san will help Juvia?" I grabbed his hands. "Thank you Gray-san" I smiled. "I'll pick you up in the morning" "No. It's late anyways so why not just stay over?" I sugessted.
He looked at me with fish eyes. "Plus Gajeel-kun might see you when you come" "It's okay I can just say I wanted to talk to Erza or someone" he argued. "Please stay. Erza-san and the others won't be here and Juvia doesn't like to be alone" I looked up at him.
I could see the faint blush on his cheeks, but in the end he agreed to stay. "Sorry Juvia called you to stay so suddenly. Especially since we are strangers" I said unlocking the door.
He stayed silent. "Uhh, so how does Gray-san know Erza-san?" I asked trying to make conversation. "We're childhood friends, along with that fire breath Natsu" he said. "Natsu-san? Gray-san doesn't like Natsu-san?" I asked sitting on the couch.
"His annoying" Gray sighed. "So you really don't remember me" Gray sat up and looked me in the eyes. "Gomen. Even though Gray-san seems extremely close with Juvia's room mates, Juvia doesn't remember you" I said sadly.
"That's sad. We were very close" he sighed. "Juvia and Gray-san Close? How?" I asked curious. By the time I blinked his was closer to me. His eyes shinned. I could feel the blush creep to my face.
"I mean like this" he whispered. It caused shivers to go down my spine like electric bolts. His face moved closer and I tightened my eyes. I felt something grab my nose and when I opened them he was smiling cockily.
"You should see your face. Do you think I would kiss you?" he laughed. I felt embarrassed. "W-why would Gray-san do that?" I blushed. He just stared at me. "W-what?" I asked still trying to calm myself down.
"You know you shouldn't invite a man into your apartment. He might get the wrong idea" he whispered before walking away. "I'm going to be now. Night" he walked into my room. "Get the wrong idea…?" then I felt my cheeks heat red.
"J-Juvia never intended that!" I screamed blushing.
