Hey every sorry it took so long for the new chapter I had a few personal problems but anyway the chapter is here and I will posted another chapter hopefully before this month or next month and with that out the way how many of you are excited for the remake I am over the moon and cannot wait for it. I have been using Cloud for smash as well he pretty fun just need to get use to the game though anyway I hope you enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 10

Serah woke up with a pounding headache, her body was really hot she felt really sick and had to quickly run to the bathroom to vomit into the toilet when she finished, she flushed the toilet and dragged herself back to bed. Serah fell on the bed and reached for her phone to dial a number and waited for it to connect.

"Hello Serah, what's up?"

"Hey Cloud, sorry I am going to have to cancel today. I am not feeling too good" Serah's voice was really nasally.

"I am coming over"

"Cloud you don't…"

"Serah you sound horrible and as your friend I am going to come over to take care of you. I will see you in an hour"

"Cloud"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you"

"What are friends for. Anyway I will see you soon, bye"

"Bye"

The phone disconnected and Serah put her phone down on the table. Before she knew it Serah fell a sleep about an hour later Serah heard a loud banging at the door.

"Just a minute"

Serah got out of bed, putting on her nightgown. She then opened the door

"Wow Serah you look horrible"

"Thanks for the obvious come in"

Serah went back to her bed. Cloud went inside and shut the door. He was looking around the room and it looked a bit cramped. There was not much room and he felt a chill. He went straight to the window to have a look and noticed there were cracks all over it. Cloud felt the breeze coming through the window. He placed his bag next to the bed and took a chair from the corner and place it next to the bed he sat down and Cloud noticed Serah staring at him. She noticed Cloud was wearing a t-shirt with a chocobo on the front a pair of dark blue jeans and Nike trainers.

"What?"

"You're wearing new clothes. I thought you only had a closet full of the same clothes"

Cloud rolled his eyes

"I don't only have one pair of clothes you know. That's my uniform for work."

"I guess I just never thought you would have a t-shirt like that"

Serah suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head. It felt as if her brain was being drilled. She clutched her head hoping that the pain would go Cloud took some paracetamol and a bottle of water from his bag.

"Here Serah, have this"

Serah took them.

"Thanks" She swallowed the pill with the water and laid back down , her headache beginning to fade away.

"Serah just relax,I will be back in a couple of minutes okay"

"Okay"

Cloud went downstairs. He approached the front desk and rang the bell

"Yes sir, how can I help you"

"I want to file a complaint"

"What's the complaint about sir"

"My friend got ill…"

"That not our fault"

"You didn't let me finish" Cloud looked really annoyed silencing the bellboy.

"As I was saying her window has cracked which is letting a breeze inside and is making the room really cold. It needs to be repaired as soon as possible"

The bellboy just nodded

"Good, now if you would excuse me"

"Um sir"

"Yes"

"We are getting the whole hotel done up to code some generous person donated the money for it"

"Who donated the money?"

"Not sure they just left the money without giving a name. I will make sure that your friend's window is fixed and to show our apologies we will give her one week with no rent. She is always nice to us, it's the least we can do".

"Thank you"

"No problem sir, I hope she feels better soon".

Cloud nodded and went back upstairs to check on Serah. He entered the room and she was sleeping hugging her pillow with a smile on her face. He chuckled. She reminds him of a cat sleeping peacefully. Without making a sound he sat down on the chair and went through his bag taking out his laptop he began to check all of the packages he had to deliver for the next couple of days before Christmas. After an hour he had finish checking everything.

Cloud got up to stretch his legs and went to look outside the window. There wasn't much to see. The streets were empty and he saw his bike parked on the curb. Cloud noticed there was a bookshop close by and was he was curious. He wanted to check it out for a couple of minutes. Before he could open the door Cloud heard Serah mumbling in her sleep. Cloud turned and saw she was rubbing her eyes.

"Hey what time is it"

Cloud took out his phone and checked

"It's three o clock"

"wow I am sorry you were here all that time and I just fell asleep. I thought I would rest my eyes and I just nodded off"

"Its fine, anyway you look a little better. Are you hungry?"

"A little bit"

"Okay"

Cloud went to his bag and took out a thermos. He took a cup and poured the drink, handing it to Serah

"Here, it's chicken soup. It should help"

"Thanks Cloud"

She took a sip

"Wow this is amazing. Tifa knows how to make soup. I shouldn't be surprised she is an amazing cook"

She continued to drink the soup

"Serah I made that soup "

Serah spat the soup back in the cup

"What, you made this"?

"Yeah I did and Serah that disgusting" Cloud crossed his arms " I am offend with the fact that you think I cannot cook"

"No, I just didn't think that you cooked anything"

"Why?"

"Um, because you don't seem like the type"

"You shouldn't judge a book by its cover".

"Yeah your right, anyway its really good"

"Thanks"

"So Cloud what else do you have in there?"

Cloud reach into his bag and pulled out a couple of movies and showed them to Serah. She took them and had a look through.

"Oh Cloud lets watch this one"

Serah was pretty eager to watch the movie. She picked the lion king which Cloud took

"Uh Serah, where's your TV?"

Serah pointed underneath the bed. Cloud went underneath and took out the TV it was still in the box

"Why did you not open it?"

"I didn't have the time to be honest"

Cloud shook his head in disbelief. He took a table and dragged it towards the centre of Serah's bed and put the table against the wall he unboxed the TV,discarding the box to the side of the room. He placed the TV on the table,plugged the socket in and handed Serah the remote.

"Thanks for that. Sorry for all the trouble Cloud"

"Its fine" he put the movie in and sat back down on the chair and relaxed

Serah and Cloud were watching the movie for the next hour and a half. Serah would just randomly cheer or shout at the screen whenever something good or bad was happen

"No Mufasa, stupid Scar I hate you"

"No Simba don't blame yourself"

"That it Simba, beat scar I know you can do it"

"Serah trying to watch if you don't mind".

"Sorry" after five seconds she screamed at the top of her lungs which made Cloud jump and he fell face first on the floor.

"OW"

"Cloud are you okay, you are so clumsy"

Cloud got up and sat back down on the chair he turned to Serah and had an annoyed look on his face

"Serah why did you scream so loud for?"

"Oh sorry, I was just happy Simba beat Scar"

Cloud just shook his head and took the movie out he looked at his phone to see the time. It was already five he went to the window. It was pitch black outside. Serah was just flicking thought the channels and stopped at looney toons. She took a look at Cloud. He was just looking outside. Serah checked her phone and it was already five. She knew he will be going soon and it made her sad that he had to go already. It felt like he was here for a few minutes.

"Hey Serah, I am hungry. Do you want anything to eat? I am going back to Tifa to get some food. Do you want any?"

"Yeah sure. Nothing too heavy for me please, and Cloud I am sorry that you had to waste your whole day with me. You must have had other things you could have done instead of checking up on me, but I really appreciate you."

Cloud chuckled

"Serah its fine, you're my friend and I wanted to make sure you were alright. Just give me an hour or two and I will come back with the food okay"

"Okay, but Cloud isn't it a little out of your way going there and coming back then going there again?"

"Don't worry, I will book a room in this hotel and stay her overnight. I will see you later on"

Cloud left the room. He went on his phone and told Tifa everything and ordered the food. After he finished he went to Fenrir, started the engine and headed back to seven heaven as fast as he could. Meanwhile Serah was watching looney toons and she smiled. She was happy to have met someone like Cloud out here after everything that has happen to took her phone and messaged her sister, Claire, everything that happened.

"Serah, he seems like a nice guy. Just watch yourself out there it's pretty dangerous, but you know Cloud strife is a legend, beating Sephiroth and saving the planet. I thought he was just a Legend you know I named myself lightning for two reasons. You know one and his name was the second reason because you can't have lightning without Cloud anway take care of yourself if anything does happen I will come down to get you also go get him you sly fox, I am rooting for you

Serah blushed and kept on reading

love Claire."

Serah just shook her head. They were just friends. She looks at the time waiting until Cloud returns. She thought that ever since she met Cloud she could forget all of her troubles. He has always been there to help her and that put a smile on her face.

Serah heard knocking on her door. She got up and opened the door. Cloud stood there with his bag Serah let him back in he put the bag on the ground and dragged a table near Serah's bed, taking the food out and placed it on the table.

Cloud handed Serah a plate that was filled with chicken stew and she thanked him. Cloud just nodded and took out a second stew. They both started to eat. Serah was enjoying her stew

"Wow this tastes amazing. Did you make this Cloud?"

"No Tifa did. I ordered the food before getting on my bike sorry I took long, there was quite a bit of traffic."

"You don't have to apologise. Thanks for everything and let's stop being so mushy about it"

They ate their food in silence and Cloud wanted to break the silence.

"Um Serah"

"Yes Cloud"

"What is your dream?"

"My dream?"

"Yeah like what do you want to do?"

Serah was surprised Cloud was asking her this type of question. It wasn't like him at all

"Well I am not sure at the moment. I know it's stupid not knowing "

"Not really it's not easy to think what you want to do. It's a hard question let me change the question then okay".

"Okay"

"Why did you come to midgar?"

Serah felt her heart sink. Her face was losing all feeling she was having flashbacks about everything that had happened. She fell back on the bed and her chest was hurt Cloud got up and went to her

"SERAH SERAH"

Cloud was holding her to try and comfort her she fell unconscious Cloud place her in her blankets and called the doctor. He cleared the table. The doctor arrived after 10 minutes Cloud took him upstairs and explained what had happened. The doctor checked her heart rate, temperature and her stability. Cloud was just walking up and down the corridor the doctor opened the door and invited him inside

"You don't need to worry, she is fine. She just had a mild panic attack"

Cloud was relieved

"Thank you doctor"

"Just let her rest and her give her this medication. These will help her cold and give her the nutrients she needs"

"Thank you. How much do I owe you?"

"It's free for you. Its nearly Christmas and you have helped me a lot Cloud and I won't take no for an answer you know I am more stubborn then you.

"Okay thank you"

"She's special to you isn't she"

"She's pretty unique"

Cloud shook the doctors hand and walked with him downstairs towards his car. He waved as the doctor drove into the distance.

Cloud went back upstairs and saw Serah was still sleeping she went to her and straightened her hair then sat back down on his chair, took the remote to lower the volume and watched the TV for a couple of hours.

Cloud checked the time and it was late. He turned the TV off and went into Serah's cupboard. He took a couple of blankets and two pillows, placing them near Serah bed.

Cloud took his bag into the bathroom and changed into his nightclothes. He brushed his teeth and after finishing he turned off all the lights and lied down on his makeshift bed. Cloud was lost in thought waiting to fall asleep

"Serah is running from something or someone, that's why she's here, but from who and why"

Cloud decided not to bring it up again unless Serah wants to speak about it like she was waiting for him to tell her his past, he will wait until she is ready to speak about it. His consciousness slowly fades and Cloud falls asleep.
