guys hey! So the response I got from my last chapter was better than I thought it would be. So yay. This is kinda short but I hope you like it!

"Who are you texting?" Alec asked as I sat on my sofa, texting Jem an apology. I couldn't meet him tonight, not after everything that happened. I wouldn't be able to handle the questions over my bandages or the voices.

"Texting Jem. I was suppose to meet him tonight." I said as Alec flopped down next to me, holding haribos, chocolate buttons, a massive galaxy chocolate bar, Doritos and some sweet popcorn.

"Why don't you invite him here? I like Jem. We have beer, Netflix, the xbox." Alec suggested, his mouth full of popcorn, but I'd already sent the text. Dammit. I got an instant reply.

Jem: do you want me to come round, look after you? He'd asked, and I smiled, realising him and Alec thought so alike. I was about to reply when my phone started ringing. It was Jem.

"Hey." I answered.

"Hey, don't worry about tonight." He reassured me straight away, and Alec flicked on the TV, turing to the boxing.

"Do you want to come round? Alec's here, you two get along right?" I asked, and there was a pause. I realised too late what that sounded like, it sounded like I was blowing him off for Alec, but before I could retract my statement, Jem was answering.

"Sure, Alec's cool. I'll be round in a few." He said cheerily before hanging up. I pushed my phone deep into my pocket. Alec smirked, laughing softly, and I looked up at him, his smile contagious in a way that made me feel warm and silly.

"What?" I asked, elbowing him, and he laughed louder, snorting, almost knocking the popcorn all over the floor.

"Do you know how whipped that boy is for you? A normal guy would have turned you down the second he knew another guy was there." Alec pointed out, and I elbowed him again, blushing and giggling.

"You're not another guy, you're just... Alec." I teased, and he burst out laughing, his arm around my shoulder as he nuzzled my ear.

"What's that suppose to mean." He said, the amusement clear in his voice, and I rolled my eyes, playfully shoving him, but he pushed me back, ticking my stomach and pulling at strand of my hair.

"Well... You're Alec." There was no other way to describe it, and he laughed again, meeting my eyes. One of his hands was on my jaw, his thumb brushing my cheek, the other was on my shoulder, his arm heavy against my back.

"I think that's very rude of you." He said, his smile spreading even thought he was trying to control it. He was very close, his forehead almost touching mine, and I could smell the popcorn he'd eaten. I giggled, rolling my eyes, and he smiled a little brighter too as he tilted my face up.

"I should... Uhh... I should..." But my words wouldn't come as I realised just how close he was. How close I... Oh god... How close I wanted him. No... No! He was so warm, incredibly warm. Maybe it was an older guy thing... He's only a year older, I remind myself, still staring into his eyes.

"Alec..." I breathed, my head dropping down, looking away, and he let me go, moving away from me.

"I get it. I do. I just... You're my best friend Cassie. I just... Saw something, that's all." He played it off like it was no big deal, and maybe if I weren't his best friend, maybe if I didn't know him so well I would have accepted what he said, but I knew him well enough to know he wasn't okay. I looked at him, feeling guilty as he skipped from channel to channel.

"Look, I can call Jem, call it off..." I started, but he shushed me, smiling widely.

"No, Cass, it's cool. Seriously." He reassured me, and I sighed, leaning into him, wrapping my arms around his waist and giving his a squeeze.

"Thank you." I whispered gratefully, and his chin dropped onto my hair as he hugged me back.

"Any time." He said cheerily, and we sat like that for a second of two before the door bell rang. I got up, ran to the door, straightening my hair quickly before opening it. Jem smiled back at me, his cheeks red from the cold, dressed in jeans and a flannel shirt.

"Hey!" I said, opening the door and gesturing for him to come in. He came in, taking off his shoes politely, and I saw his superman socks. Cute.

"Nice socks." I smiled, and he smiled back, wiggling his toes. He really was adorable. I giggled, and he smiled widely. I led him into the living room, tugging him by his sleeve, where Alec had already dimmed the light and was putting on a film. Some boy action film.

"Sweet I love this film." Jem exclaimed, and Alec looked up, smiling.

"Yeah, same." Alec said, and we plonked down next to Alec, Jem in the middle and me on the end. We started pigging out on the food, drinking beer, and Jem fed me a piece of popcorn. Aww. Cute. Alec was watching us out of the corner of his eye as the film went on, but he said nothing. Not even when Jem took my hand. My cheeks burned the brightest of reds, and I was glad of the darkness. Explosions were going on on screen as fast cars raced, and Alec and Jem got into a conversation about how in real life that car wouldn't win and how it all depended on the road surface or the tire condition. I didn't feel left out, I actually felt really glad that they were getting along.

The night went on, and we drank way more booze and watched way more films then we had intended, and when it came to 11, Alec offered to walk with Jem back home seeming as he lived quite close and neither could drive.

"Sure, thanks." Jem answered, and I walked with them down my front garden, and while Alec fished around in his car for his house keys, Jem turned to me.

"I had such a great night tonight." He whispered, and I realised his hand was still tucked in mine. I smiled, blushing again, and he smiled too, inching closer.

"Me too." I said, smiling shyly as he took my face in his hand, not letting go of my other hand. His eyes were so bright, full of happiness, and I felt heat spread through my chest. He moved closer still, until his lips were almost touching mine.

"Can I?" He asked, and I smiled, nodding. He kissed me, his lips so warm, soft, gentle, and I felt my heart jump and then falter. My eyes closed, but I made no effort to move. This was his kiss, he got to choose whether he kissed me harder or not. He did, he kissed me a little harder, his lips moving slowly but surely across mine, and I smiled against his lips, my free hand resting on his chest. He pulled back, smiling, his eyes alert and wide.

"Goodnight Cassie." He whispered, kissing my forehead before he walked over the Alec's car, where he was still searching for his keys, oblivious. I turned to walk back inside, touching my lips and smiling like a little girl, and then I stopped, because I looked up into Wills window, and saw him. He'd been watching. Even thought I couldn't see his face, the way he turned and drew the curtains told me he'd seen Jem and I kiss.

And he wasn't happy about it.

Alec aww he's so cute! And Jem... Cassie is one lucky chica. Ohh will spotted them... What do you think he'll do? You like? Yeah? No? Please review xxx
