Hinata didn't know why she was letting him kiss her. She had known that everything they were doing was wrong. She briefly wondered how she got in this situation when she felt Sasuke pull away for the much needed air. Her eyes fluttered open and she saw how the male stared at her with an intense gaze. His mouth opened slightly to bring in the air. Her eyes studied his face as he gripped the sides of her cheek and pushed her toward for round two of their kiss. Hinata tried to keep her eyes open but the feeling she was getting was unbearable. Her small hands moved down to his chest and a small grunt rumbled in Sasuke's mouth. She took that opportunity to pull away from him. Sasuke looked down at her with questioning eyes and slowly breathed in and out. When he tried to lean in again, Hinata pushed his chest away slightly.
"Don't," Hinata objected and stared into his onyx eyes. One of Sasuke's eyebrows rose and Hinata bit her lip—her gaze wavering slightly.
"Sasuke, I'm your teacher. This kind of relationship cannot be happening. I-I mean the age difference is also there and—"
"I don't care Hinata," Sasuke interrupted rudely and crossed his arms, "The age difference doesn't matter to me and neither does this teacher-student bull. You're attracted to me and you know it. We're not in love, so what's the big deal?" Sasuke asked as he took a dangerous step closer to her. Hinata took one step back and shook her head.
"We can't be doing this. This is totally—" Hinata tried to speak but was cut off by the lips that pressed themselves onto hers. She hadn't forgotten what she was saying just a moment ago, but she had quickly liked the idea of kissing. Sasuke's hand removed themselves from her hair and moved down to her lower back where they started an addictingly soothing rhythm. Hinata felt her legs turn into jelly as she leaned into him. Sasuke pulled away and stared at her. Hinata knew that from the look he was giving her, she had lost this argument.
"Your mind and voice protest against me but your body and mouth do the opposite," Sasuke informed her causing the young woman bit her lip.
"Sasuke, no matter how much I may play into your game, this still cannot happen again. It's wrong," Hinata declared and narrowed her eyes at him. Sasuke nodded and took a step back.
"Why?" Sasuke asked so suddenly that Hinata was startled for a moment. She bit her lip once again and looked around.
"Because I'm your teacher and—"
"Forget that reason. What if I wasn't your student, what if I was just a normal male who was attracted to you?" Sasuke challenged and Hinata shook her head.
"Sasuke can you please let this go. I'm begging you, this isn't right. I mean the age difference is still there and this can't be legal," Hinata sighed and rubbed her temples. Sasuke stared at her and stuffed his hands into his pocket.
"Something is wrong with you," The male muttered under his breath as he shielded his eyes from her with his right hand. Hinata's eyes widened and she felt her heart pound loudly. However this kind of pounding was different than from a moment ago. This kind of pounding was painful. Hinata looked down at the floor and the two stayed in the same position for a moment. Silence filled the air and suffocated Hinata. The young woman kept her gaze on the floor as she spoke.
"Maybe you should get going," her voice was meant to come out as a command but instead was projected as a whisper. Soft and weak. With no objections, Sasuke walked passed her and straight for the door. Hinata turned slightly to watch his back leave and noticed how tensed it seemed. He slammed the door shut; he looked back at her with clouded eyes causing Hinata to wince. She looked at her empty apartment and suddenly felt cold. She knew what she had done was the right thing but her heart hurt. The young woman walked into the kitchen and grabbed her phone from the counter.
"Hello, is Hanabi available? It's Hinata speaking," Hinata asked as she kept her pain hidden from her voice.
"Ah! Young master, how long has it been? Are you eating well?" the elder woman's voice rang happily. Hinata let out a smile at the formalities the older woman still addressed her with.
"I'm fine thank you. I hope you are as well. Is Hanabi there?" Hinata repeated and heard the woman hum in thinking.
"Yes, she is. I remember her arriving with a young man just a moment ago," the woman just before she called the female's name.
"Hello?" Hanabi's voice asked in curiosity. Hinata smiled and she felt her stomach flip.
"H-Hanabi," Hinata spoke her name and sat down at the table.
"Woah, Hinata are you crying?" Hanabi asked with concern.
"N-No of course not, I just needed to hear your voice," Hinata spoke truthfully and heard her sister sigh.
"Well my voice can be addicting," Hanabi answered coolly causing Hinata's smile to widen.
"A little bird told me you walked in with a boy," Hinata teased and heard Hanabi suck her teeth.
"I bet it was the gardener. That man has been on my ass since I told him to suck a d—"
"My sibling has such a wonderful vocabulary," Hinata cut off the foul language.
"Whatever, he was asking for it. Besides it was only Konohamaru with me. Dad doesn't like him," Hanabi confessed and Hinata raised a brow.
"Why not? He seemed like a nice young man when you introduced me to him," Hinata said as she remembered the day her sister started to beat the male up for calling her cupcake.
"Dad walked into my room and saw me and Konohamaru wrestling. Dad took it to another level and called Konohamaru the child of the devil," Hanabi said and Hinata mentally nodded.
"At least he didn't tell Konohamaru that he 'needs God in his life'," Hinata stressed and heard Hanabi giggle.
"What are you talking about? Why would he say that?" the younger female asked and Hinata laid her head on the table.
"When I was around fifteen, a friend named Hideki came over to my house. He was a close friend so I trusted him with everything and I wanted him to tell me how different outfits looked on me, so that I could impress a crush. Anyway, he sat on my bed while I changed clothes in my closet. After a while, he picked an outfit he deemed best and wanted to get a better look at my face. He grabbed my chin and tilted it up towards him. I kept fidgeting so he grabbed my waist to stop me, then in comes Father. Hideki was so annoyed that he practically growled out 'Ever heard of knocking'. Father turned red and then ordered him to get out. As Hideki was leaving Father said 'You children need God in your life. He will be your savior'" Hinata chuckled as she remembered the memory. She hadn't heard from Hideki since they graduated from high school.
"Dad is a weirdo. At least he's calmed down since then. Well gotta go Hinata, Konohamaru's calling me. Talk to you later sis," Hanabi abruptly hung up the phone leaving Hinata no chance to say goodbye. Hinata smiled at her sister's actions and briefly remembered her mother. The smile slowly faded as the memory of her mother's dead like body came back. She stood from her seat and took out a sleeping pill, knowing well that if she didn't take one she would get no sleep. She had an old habit that when something involving her mother happened, she wouldn't get an inch of sleep that night. It had developed when she was younger and she spent more time with her mother than with anyone else. Hinata gave her cat fresh water before heading off to bed, drowning in her hope and memories.
Next morning; Waiting for Neji
Hinata stood in front of her height length mirror and twirled. She had somehow felt different and couldn't tell if it was good or bad. Hinata patted down her black pants and gasped when she heard her door bell ring. Grabbing her bag from the couch she opened the door and saw Neji standing there with his hands stuffed into his pockets.
"Morning," he greeted dully and Hinata noticed the bags under his eyes.
"I can cover your fifth period class. I'm still pretty good at Trigonometry," Hinata said as she studied his face. Neji let out a small smile and shook his head.
"I couldn't let you do that. I'll be fine," Neji assured her with the same smile. Hinata nodded but help up her index finger as they started walking to the car.
"You say that now but if you start feeling really tired and want a nap, my classroom is down the hall," Hinata smiled at him and he nodded his head.
The drive to work was in silence but one that Hinata didn't feel suffocated in. She entered the school building and bid farewell to her cousin. As she walked into her classroom she noticed that her board had little notes from her students left on them. Some were small and hidden while other were large and bold. What stood out to her was that all the little notes came together to make the name 'Hyuuga'. Hinata smiled before taking out her phone and taking a picture of the artwork. The door slid open and Hinata turned slightly to see Sasuke standing there with a bandage around his hand. Her hand fell down to her side and she looked back at the chalkboard.
"Is your hand alright?" Hinata asked as she sat down at her desk. Sasuke glanced at her before making his way to his seat. The silence he was giving her, made Hinata slightly neglected. She pushed the feeling down and started humming a slight melody.
"Sakura," the male whispered after she finished humming. Hinata looked up at him and raised a brow.
"Are you speaking to me?" she asked for clarification.
"I doubt that there is anyone else in the room," Sasuke spoke coldly with his eyes glued to the window. Hinata clenched her jaw and settled for a small smile.
"Ah, but I still don't know what you mean Sasuke," Hinata stated as she gave the male a gentle smile but deadly eyes. She had learned this from her younger sister. Sasuke kept his on the window and leaned on his palm.
"Forget it Ms. Hyuuga," Sasuke announced and took out a small book to read. The door suddenly opened wide and in walked Sakura.
"Aha! I knew I'd find you here! You're always here so early," Sakura pouted and ran to sit next to him. The female turned and finally noticed Hinata sitting there.
"Oh hey Ms. Hyuuga," somehow she sounded disappointed. Hinata smiled and nodded in her direction since she didn't trust her voice to come out correctly. Hinata looked down at her lap and started fidgeting with her fingers; a habit that never really went away.
"Sasuke notice anything different?" Sakura questioned and Sasuke turned to look at the female before shaking his head.
"I cut my tips silly," Sakura playfully teased him and Sasuke nodded his head.
"It shapes your face," Sasuke tried to compliment her and Hinata raised her brow but kept her face hidden in busy work.
"Complimenting me are you Sasuke?" Sakura said as she smiled and stood in front of him.
"Well then if that's true, don't I always compliment you?" Sasuke asked as he looked up at her with a small smirk. Hinata felt as if she was out of place; as if she was witnessing something private. Sakura blushed and nodded her head as Naruto walked in half asleep.
"This is the one day I don't want to sleep. I'm grouchy so insult me and I'll just leave," He announced as he sat next to Sakura's seat. The blonde leaned his head on his palm and yawned rather obnoxiously.
"Hey Ms. Hyuuga," Naruto greeted the female and Hinata snapped her head up. She smiled at him and pointed at the place underneath her eyes.
"I ate too much ramen so I couldn't sleep from my stomach ache," he explained and Hinata nodded. She walked up to him and lifted his chin. Sasuke and Sakura turned to face the duo.
"Close your eyes please," She asked and Naruto did what his teacher told him to. She pressed near his temple and near his mouth. When Naruto opened his eyes again, he didn't feel as tired as he did a moment ago.
"You're a fairy aren't you?" Naruto asked excitedly. Hinata smiled as she shook her head but Naruto held her hands and thanked her.
"When I didn't get enough sleep my mother would do this for me," Hinata said but turned slightly and saw Sasuke glaring at her. Hinata went back to her desk and the bell rung. Soon enough, students started to file into the classroom, their chattering following them. Hinata smiled as some students greeted her and she stood up once they settled down.
"Good morning everyone, I hope you had a nice sleep last night. Before we start the lesson, I wanted to speak with you all. I'm just really sorry on how I just ran outside like that. Something very important came up and my mind went blank. I apologize for it," Hinata said as she bowed her head slightly. Her students stared at her before Ino started laughing—everyone soon joining her except for Sasuke and Sakura.
"May I ask what is so funny?" Hinata asked and she hid her fists behind her back.
"Well for one I think no teacher has apologized to us for leaving. I mean that's a first and your speech was pretty funny to. I mean like we understand things happen and you can't just stay calm—you're human. So to apologize for something like that is silly," Ino ranted as she preoccupied herself with filing her nails. Hinata smiled and nodded her head. Her students were very much unique and special.
"Then let's begin. I want everyone to put the books away. Only leave out a piece of paper and a pen or pencil," she paused as they followed her directions. "We'll be building characters today but these characters are based on your secrets. No one else will look at them unless you want them to. The characters can either be drawn or written about. It's a homework assignment that I will give you four days to work on. Then you'll hand them into me on Monday. I'll give everyone a 100 as long as you hand it in, because how can I grade someone's secrets?" Hinata explained as she passed out the assignment question and idea bank. She smiled as the students started to scribble down notes on their paper. She sat at her desk and took out her own piece of paper and started scribbling little notes that came to mind.
'What secrets do I have,' Hinata thought as she looked at the ceiling and hummed a little melody.
"Oh! So Sakura got that song from you!" Kiba announced as he pointed a finger at Hinata. The young woman blinked and stared at him blankly—confused on what he was speaking about.
"I didn't get it from her you mutt," Sakura sneered and saw Kiba growl at her.
"Sakura watch your mouth please," Hinata said with a monotone voice as she tapped her chin with her pencil.
'Why is this so hard to do now?' She thought and then remembered that her students were staring at her. She blinked at them once again with a blank expression.
"What?" she asked she looked around the sea of faces. Some muttered under their breaths but they continued their work. Hinata shrugged slightly and went back to own work but couldn't concentrate and pushed the paper away—frustrated. She held a slight pout on her lips as she crossed her arms.
Lunch; Hinata's classroom
"This project is annoying," Hinata thought aloud as she stared at the blank piece of paper. Throughout the day she couldn't think of any kind of secret that she deemed important enough. She narrowed her stare at the paper and inwardly blew the thing up with her eyes. Hinata sighed as she leaned in her rolling chair and spun around.
"Ms. Hyuuga is so weird," Naruto announced as he walked in alone. Hinata stopped spinning and turned her hazy vision back on him.
"Oh god I gave myself a headache," Hinata groaned as she closed her eyes but motioned with her hands for him to sit. The blonde sat in Sasuke's usual seat and when Hinata looked up was surprised to see him so close. He was much more handsome up close. Hinata mentally smacked herself as she realized what she had thought. However it was true that he was blindly handsome. The blonde locks of hair on his head were splattered in all different directions. His blue eyes sparkled in the light and the birthmark whiskers made him look like he had an edge. Hinata stopped her stare of awe and instead settled for looking at her lap.
"What brings you here Uzumaki-san?" Hinata questioned as she looked up at him slightly through her bangs.
"Sasuke and Sakura are getting on my nerves, Kiba is busy with gross girls, and Shikamaru already has a partner for Shogi. I thought I could stay here for a little while," Naruto explained as he laid his head on the desk. Hinata nodded and hesitated as she ruffled his hair. It was surprisingly silky and Hinata found herself running her hand through his hair. She quickly pulled her hand away and stared at her lap.
'I am a gross person,' Hinata thought as she scolded herself. Naruto looked up as he leaned his chin on the desk.
"Why'd you stop? That was helping me to fall asleep," Naruto whined as he grabbed her hand and placed it back on the top of his head. Hinata blushed and saw Naruto grin at her. She repeated her previous movements and watched as the male slowly fell asleep. Hinata stopped her movements and stood to close the open window that was brushing his golden locks. Before she closed the window, she allowed the window to caress her face. Her eyes darted to the blue sky and watched as the white clouds slowly passed through the sky. Her mind drifted to the woman lying asleep in a hospital bed. Hinata closed the window and returned back to her seat. She eyed Naruto's sleeping form and mimicked his motions.
Bell Rings; 15 minutes later
Hinata awoke from her slumber and saw Naruto grinning at her. She leaned up and wiped the sleep from her eyes. She yawned and saw Naruto chuckle causing her to raise a brow.
"I'll see you later Ms. Hyuuga," Naruto told her as he waved goodbye and left to his next class. Hinata watched him leave and pouted. Her students were always laughing at her but that somehow made her smile. She stood up and prepared herself for the class that would be entering in a few moments.
After School; Hinata's classroom
Hinata smiled as her student bid her farewell. The last period class was always restless but today they seemed a lot calmer than usual. The young woman smiled and gathered her things together. She looked at the piece of paper and narrowed her stare. She had forgotten about the project that she abandoned. The door opened and in came Naruto with the same grin he held before.
"Uzumaki-san?" Hinata questioned and watched as the male pulled out his phone.
"You're really cute when you're asleep," Naruto announced to her as he showed her a picture of her asleep. Hinata blushed deeply and tried to grab at his phone but he held it out of reach.
"Not so fast, I like this picture," Naruto explained to her and Hinata shook her head. She stood on her toes and reached her hand further but Naruto did a 180 out of her grasp.
"C'mon Naruto," Hinata pleaded and saw Naruto's grin widen.
"So you're addressing me as Naruto and not Uzumaki-san? Are you getting feisty?" Naruto teased and Hinata's blush darkened.
"Uzumaki—"
"Nope, don't try and change it now," Naruto said and Hinata pouted with her arms crossed. Naruto chuckled and Hinata's eyes widened. She had suddenly remembered Kenta. Her childhood friend. Her childhood love. Naruto noticed her change in behavior and once again showed her the picture.
"Y'know I think Mr. Hyuuga would even crack a smile at this picture," Naruto thought aloud and Hinata puffed her cheeks as she calculated a way to take away the phone. While Naruto laughed, Hinata took that as her opportunity to take the phone. Naruto grabbed her hand and pulled her into a hug.
"You're really fun Hinata," Naruto announced to her as he continued laughing. Sasuke walked in and pulled them apart quickly. He snatched the phone away from Hinata and shoved it into Naruto's hand.
"Get out," Sasuke demanded to the blonde but Naruto stood still.
"No," the male said calmly and looked the onyx haired male in the eyes. Sasuke tightened his jaw and glared at the male.
"I'm out of here," Sasuke said as he pushed past the blonde male. Hinata looked at Naruto with apologetic eyes and he smiled at her.
"It's okay Hinata," Naruto announced as he put a thumbs up to her. Sasuke stopped walking and turned to look at Naruto.
"What did you call her?" Sasuke asked and Naruto shrugged.
"Her name," Naruto responded coolly and Hinata shook her head.
"Please stop arguing," Hinata asked and both males looked over to her. Hinata shook her head once again and stood in front of Naruto.
"Can you please go home Naruto? I have to speak with Sasuke alone," Hinata asked the male who nodded his head and moved to exit.
Hinata waited until her left before she stared at Sasuke with guarded eyes.
"So you're already in the arms of someone else," Sasuke noted and Hinata narrowed her eyes at him.
"I was never in anyone's arms," Hinata informed him bitterly as she crossed her arms. Sasuke scoffed and stared at her.
"I highly doubt that," Sasuke responded as he turned around.
"You're not fair," Hinata reminded him and Sasuke nodded.
"I know and I'm not kind either," Sasuke agreed as he stepped outside the room to leave. Hinata looked at her feet and the painful pounding of her heart returned. She hoped that everything from here on would be looking bright.
Hello everyone! Have you enjoyed this chapter? This chapter was meant to build the plot up more. Thank you for reading and if you reviewed on the last chapter. I hope the story's not advancing to fast. I like to write slow stories but sometimes I speed the story up without realizing it. I have a quick question; do any of my readers listen to K-pop? I know it's a weird question but I just wanted to know. Anyway THANK YOU for reading. I'll outline the next chapter and then type it up. See you soon :]
