Chapter 10

"The first one we need to find is Slytherin's locket and I'm sorry Sirius but this is going to require your help," Lily said looking at her dad's godfather. Sirius looked confused.
"Why? Where is it?" he asked.
"Number 12 Grimmauld place," Lily said.
2019 (new timeline) the Burrow
"No! No! No!" Sirius practically screamed. "There is no way in heck I am going back to that house!"
"Sirius," Remus sighed. Lily held her hand up to him though.
"look Sirius, I know that house represents a lot of bad things, but there is only one way to stop Voldemort and this is it, finding and destroying the seven objects that tether him to life," as she said this, she couldn't help but sneak a glance at Harry. The man she had avoided looking at until this moment. At first glance he didn't look week, he looked like her dad, but she could see very few differences, though his actually physical features remained the same. His demeanor for one, was completely different, instead of the confident noble face her father usually wore he looked scared and shaky. He sat hunched over like he wanted to be anywhere but here.
"Can't you just get it yourself? You got through the fidius charm at Godric's hallow without trouble," Sirius asked.
"But Grimmauld place isn't just protected by a fidius charm," Teddy said. "I've done some research and it turns out that even knowing the location, since most of the Blacks that are dead in our universe are alive here, only a true Black can get through the protection unmaimed."
"So I've got to go in there alone?" Sirius demanded.
"Not exactly, well yes you do have to go in alone, but once you're inside you can shut down the defense mechanisms so that we can follow," Teddy said.
"Fine," Sirius grumbled, obviously displeased.
A thought quickly struck Lily. "What about Rachel?" she asked.
Rachel Black had been Sirius' wife before he was locked up in Azkaban for 12 years, but nobody knew that. Rachel had kept to herself and had died in the final battle, but after the war their daughter Trixie had come forward to the Weasleys and soon was accepted fully into the family.
Lily immediately realized that it may have been a bad idea to bring up Rachel, for both Sirius and Remus paled considerably.
"How-how do you know about Rachel?" Sirius asked.
"Who's Rachel?" Harry asked.
"You don't know?" Lily asked confused. If Sirius had been married wouldn't he have told his godson? Apparently not as Harry shook his head no. "What happened to her?"
"She died, at Hogwarts, she had come to watch the tournament," Sirius said.
"Why?" Harry asked. "Who was she?"
"She was your godmother," Sirius said.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Harry asked. Sirius shook his head.
"I thought she had died, until that day when I saw her at the tournament, I had thought she was dead," Lily could see the tears brimming in his eyes as he said this, to think for years that your wife was dead only to have her turn up alive and die later that day, terrible.
"And Trixie?" Lily couldn't help but ask. Now Sirius and Remus looked confused.
"Who?" they asked.
"Trixie, your daughter," she said.
"I have a daughter?" Sirius asked. Lily nodded. That couldn't be changed, the events leading to Trixie's birth had occurred months before Lily had changed anything, Trixie was out there somewhere.
"Hold on, wasn't there a Trixie Black a few years behind us in school?" Ron asked. Harry and Hermione both nodded – though Harry's was absently.
"Yes there was, and you have to admit she looked a lot like Sirius," Hermione said.
"Do you know where she is now?" Lily asked. They shook their heads.
Sirius though looked excited. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's find her!"
"We will find her Sirius, I promise, but right now we have to focus, finding the horcruxes is the most important thing right now," Lily said.
"Right," Sirius muttered. Lily gave him a reassuring smile.
"I've got a question," Janie burst in. Teddy nodded to her. "It seems to me like finding this locket is only gonna take a few people, and there are about 30 of us here, what can we do?"
"Good question," Teddy said smiling. "I want you to start searching for the other horcruxes,"
"And just how are we supposed to do that?" Janie asked.
"I first need you to track down an old family by the name of gaunt, they're all dead but there house is still out there," Teddy said.
"And there's a horcrux in that house?" Janie confirmed.
"If I am correct," Teddy said. "There will be a ring there, it will be concealed by magic so it may be a bit hard to find,"
"A ring?" Sirius asked. "I mean Slytherin's locket yeah I get that, but a ring? What's so special about it? And who are these Gaunt people?"
Teddy sighed. "the Gaunts were Voldemort's mother's family, Merope gaunt was his mother, the ring belonged to them and had been in the pureblood family for centuries,"
"Any distinguishing features? Or should we just bring back every ring we find?" Janie asked.
"The deathly hallows symbol," Lily said.
"The what?" Remus asked.
"Um… does anyone have a piece of paper?" she asked. Teddy handed her a blank sheet. She drew a circle with a line through it, surrounded by a triangle.
"What does it mean?" Remus asked curious.
"The deathly hallows, a very old legend that says the possessor of these three objects becomes the master of death itself," Lily said. "The stone," she pointed to the circle, "the elder wand," she pointed to the line. "And the cloak," the triangle.
"But that just sounds like 'The Tail of the Three Brothers'" Ron said.
"Right you are Ron," Teddy said when Lily glared at her uncle. "But Beatle had to get the story from somewhere,"
"What do these objects do?" Hermione asked. Lily took a deep breath.
"The cloak turns you invisible, but it's not just your average invisibility cloak, with most cloaks they wear out, become less invisible over time. This cloak on the other hand has been around for centuries and still works as well as ever," she looked straight at the two marauders as she said this. Both of them widened their eyes considerably, while Teddy smirked.
"You don't mean-?" Sirius started.
"Yes, that's exactly what I mean," Lily smirked. The others looked confused but Lily plowed on before anyone could ask. "The wand was said to be unbeatable, no one could defeat it, or course that's not actually true but that's how the story goes,"
"And the stone?" Hermione asked looking much more like her aunt as she bounced in her seat brimming with questions and striving to get answers.
"The stone could bring people back from the dead, and I know what you're all thinking and no it's not impossible," Lily said.
"But it is," Molly said.
"It is impossible to bring a person back to their original state of living yes, but the ring didn't do that, it brought back their spirit, almost like a ghost only not permanent, it only brought back an image of the person who had passed." Lily said.
"Wait a second, are you saying that this fairy tale kid's story is real?" Ron asked. Lily glared at him for a moment before answering.
"Yes, it is real," she said stiffly.
"But what does this have to do with the horcruxes?" Bill asked sensing another fight coming on.
Lily composed herself but Teddy answered before she could.
"The hallows are another thing that helped them win the war in our universe," he said not going into details.
"Now that we're back on horcruxes, what are the other five?" Janie asked.
"The diary and the diadem are two of them, they're at Hogwarts and I would rather prefer to be there to get them," Teddy said. "The cup, we don't actually know where that is, Nagini – Voldemort's snake – Will also be a challenge,"
"What about the last one?" Janie asked.
"That's for us to know and you to hopefully never have to find out," Teddy said solemnly. Janie huffed but nodded. Teddy was keeping this quiet and though she could tell he had a reason there it just didn't seem right, they were helping to defeat Voldemort and yet information that could be his only downfall was being kept from them.
"Ok, so Sirius, Teddy, Remus, Tonks, and I Will all go to get the locket," Lily said. "I want a team ready to get the ring, Janie you're team leader on this one,"
Janie smiled. She hadn't realized before but she now knew that she had been looking for acceptance from Lily, she didn't know why, she had never met her before. But there was just something about her that needed to know that Lily approved of her.
"I pick, Issie, Luke, Bill, Charlie, Hermione and Ron," she said. Issie because she was her sister, Bill and Charlie because they were both good fighters, and Ron and Hermione because, well she actually wasn't quite sure why, she just did.
"Take Harry too," Teddy said.
"Why?" Janie asked. Harry was weak, yeah so maybe not in the other universe but here he was, why would Teddy send him on a dangerous mission when he knew he was a wimp here?
"I'll explain later," he said. Reading her face. "The rest of you stay here and contact a few more people,"
"I tried everyone I knew from the old order, they said they're trying and be here," Sirius said.
"Right, I need Neville, Luna Lovegood, and any Hogwarts teachers you can get, oh and Hagrid," Teddy said. A few people smiled at Hagrid's name. "also, anyone else you feel you can trust,"
"Will do," Arthur said.
Teddy was about to add that they needed Snape but something stopped him. They were just getting the trust of these people, now may not be the best time to bring up Snape.
"Alrighty then," Teddy said. "Let's move out."
A/N I'M ALIVE! Yes I am back and yes I am very, very sorry for not updating, writers block, other stories, school, summer, all that jazzy stuff that's really just lame excuses. But hey! I'm back now and will hopefully be updating again soon. But I do need some suggestions, please! Who else do I invite to help stop the war? Where do they find the cup? When and how do we get Snape helping us?
Twinesstar.
