Chapter 10: It's That Season

"What do mean 'we need the seasons'? Isn't our team big enough?" Jane asked in exasperation, crossing her arms in agitation. She and Bunnymund had made their way in silence to North's workshop; Jamie and Jack were already in the conference room when they had come in. North and Sandy had been the two to greet the pair; Jane unconsciously wondered if they would meet Tooth later.

"Apparently no," North looked from the distressed girl to Sandy, a small picture of three figures appeared above his head. "Manny never lies; if we need more help, than we do. We need to find Jack's 'sibling's'; the other seasons."

"Everything is happening so quickly." Jane muttered, looking at the fringe on the bottom of her jeans.

"Manny must know that you're short on time, Sheila." Bunny finally spoke up, leaning against the wall adjacent to her. He was just as shocked as the rest of them; finding Jack's supposed siblings was going to be hard. He couldn't even imagine having more than one Jack, but three? This was going to be a nightmare!

"Wait, so we only have one week to find my…family?" Jack asked, stunned beyond belief; he had three siblings! They might not have been his real biological family, like when he was human, but even knowing that he had a family…he was thrilled! "Won't that be hard though? I mean…if I hadn't come across any of them in over three hundred years, then how would we be able to find them now?"

"We found you, didn't we?" Bunny smirked, remembering the Yeti's shoving him in a bag.

"True, how did you find me?" Jack asked, suddenly curious.

North grinned, "With giant globe! These lights glow for each child! But come look," Everyone followed North as he walked up to the giant globe and shouted Russian commands to a few of his Yeti's. Jane watched in silent awe as the golden dots on the globe suddenly were gone and purple dots were scatted in their place.

Jane walked closer and leaned against the wooden railing next to North. Without looking at him, she asked, "What are they?"

North smiled at her, his blue eyes happy, "Every immortal being on Earth, is nice, da? Very handy when finding other brethren; dis is how we found Jack and is how we find his siblings."

"Shit…" Jane whispered, watching as the purple specks glowed.

North nodded in agreement before turning around, "So now we go and hunt!"

Jane's grey eyes widened; her eyes met Sandy with a confused gaze. He smiled at her reassuringly before following North through the giant wooden door. Bunnymund looked at the confused woman and grinned, "Afraid?"

"Hell no!" Jane snapped back.

Bunny shook his head, clicking his tongue as he walked past her, "Maybe we should make Rule three: No bad language unless necessary."

Jane glared at his tall rabbit ears, "Oh, don't make me show you necessary, Rabbit-boy."

"Hmm, what was that?"

"Nothing…" Jane glowered as she trailed him through the wooden door. Surprisingly, no one seemed to notice that Jack and Jamie were the last ones out. They made their way out the wooden door, slowly walking behind the pooka and human until they were out of hearing range.

"Phase one of 'Operation Red-glow' is a go!" Jamie grinned before hopping on Jack's back.

"Wait…why Red-glow?" Jack asked as he adjusted Jamie.

"Umm…because JB sounded weird?" Jamie said, looking at Jack like he was crazy.

"JB sounded a lot more low-key then Red-glow…plus I liked Operation JB."

Jamie stared at Jack from around his shoulder, "Come on dude! JB? Justin Bieber?"

"True…Operation Red-glow it is, but I'm naming the next Operation!"

Jamie laughed and held onto Jack's shoulders tightly. Jack adjusted the wind current so he shot straight between the couple. "INCOMING!" He shouted as he zipped between the two, the after gusts of wind pushed the couple apart.

Jane didn't move quick enough as Jack shot between her and Bunnymund, but she couldn't have ever guessed what would happen next. The wind after Jack had flown by, pushed Jane to the side…hard. The wind knocked her so hard that she was suddenly sent tumbling over the short railing next to her. She let loose a blood curdling scream and closed her eyes shut as she fell.

As she fell the feeling of soft fur and firm muscles of arms were abruptly wrapped about her. Jane clung to the strong body as they continued to fall.

Bunnymund hadn't even thought twice as he dove over the railing, quickly reaching Jane as she fell. He had wrapped his arms around her quickly, and in return she hugged him desperately. Bunny grunted as he tried to catch anything he could; his right arm shot out and he grabbed at the air in a desperate attempt to snag anything he could manage. As if Man in the Moon heard the pleas in his head, the nails of his paws skimmed against a long piece of red ribbon. His arm thrashed against the fabric, his nails slicing long holes into the red ribbon as he held onto Jane and hoped that gravity would be merciful.

The sound of fabric splitting rang through the couple's ears as their decent started to slow. Bunnymund's body jerked as the rips in the ribbon started to bunch up against his claws and, damn, it was starting to hurt! Bunnymund looked down at the marble floor then back up at the waning ribbon; his green eyes widened.

"Oh shit—" Bunny mumbled lowly before his claws ripped the last of the ribbon. Jane let loose a scream as they fell down the last fifty feet.

Shouts from above made Jane's grey eyes shoot open and look up. She stared at Bunnymund's face and gasped as she saw her own reflection being mirrored in the depths of his intense eyes. Her face was sheet white, jaw clenched, face contorted in fear…but something struck Jane even more. Bunnymund was just as scared, if not more, than she was. Even if his face may have been stoic and his grip around her tight, Jane could still see that he was terrified; his green eyes were practically screaming it.

Jane pulled him close, head burrowed in his broad shoulder, "Sorry…" She whispered quickly as they fell, only ten feet from the ground now.

Bunnymund felt his heart thump, whether in fear or affection he wasn't sure, but in that second he knew what he had to do. All signs of fear suddenly dissipated from him as they closed the five feet of free-fall; his vivid eyes narrowed and his arms tensed around Jane's now shaking body.

He twisted his body with a loud grunt, quickly twisting Jane so that she was lying in his arms like a bride. She let out at small squeak of surprise as Bunnymund curled his body around her, his shoulder rolling against the hard floor with his body following pursuit. Bunnymund's large rabbit feet fell hard against the floor as he landed on his two feet, crouching lowly while clinging to the young blonde in his arms.

"Holy shit…you just…" Jane's wide gray eyes found their way into Bunnymund's shocked green ones. Without a word, she flung her arms around his neck and whispered 'Oh god, thank you…just…thank you' over and over in his fur.

He closed his eyes and just gave in, hugging the young woman tightly with a shaky sigh. The two didn't even notice that Bunny's shaking legs gave out; they fell to the floor, still holding onto each other tightly.

"Bunny, Jane!" North called out, the sounds of heavy footfall quickly approaching the two.

Jane squeezed Bunnymund one last time before they released each other. She didn't notice that she had been sitting in his lap until she pulled back to look at him; he was still shaking, which made Jane wonder if he had been afraid of heights…

"Thank you for saving my life…was that an acceptable time to cuss?" Jane joked lightly while standing up shakily; she offered him her hand.

He took it with a low chuckle, "Yeah that was an acceptable time."

Jane smiled while jerking him up, her hands lingered in his paw. Jane's hand was snagged from Bunny's paw as North scooped the young woman into his burly arms, looking her over.

"No snap of bones?" He asked quickly, holding her out to look for injuries.

Jane giggled, "No broken bones, I'm fine. If Bunny hadn't have jumped over the railing and saved me—"

"WHAT?" North exclaimed in shock; an exclamation point suddenly appeared over Sandy's head. North and Sandy both looked at Bunnymund with stunned expressions, both knowing his extreme fear of heights. "You jump over railing to save Jane?"

"She would 'ave died if I hadn't!" Bunny gestured to Jane, who was still in North's strong grip.

"Iz just…surprising…" North murmured as he looked back at Jane, deep blue eyes filling with astonishment and question.

"Okay well…would you mind setting me down? I'm not too keen on the whole being picked up idea." Jane said while trying to ignore North and Sandy's dumbfounded gazes.

"HEY!" Jamie's voice suddenly snapped everyone's attention to him. He was perched on Jack's back and was waving them over to the doorway they were standing in. Jamie's amber eyes gleamed mischievously, "Those seasons won't wait forever!"

Jamie giggled as Jack ran the two of them through the doorway and into the room where the globe was, the room's glow from the purple dots pulsed though the open door as if beckoning the rest of the group inside. North nodded his head and looked at Jane and set her down, "Positive you are not broken?"

"Positive," Jane responded quickly; she didn't want to be picked up by the large man again.

"Let us continue, yes?" North gestured to the glow admitting to the open wooden door.

Everyone followed North through the doorway and into the vast room with the ginormous globe, where it just sat there and glowed brightly. Jane had never really felt intimidation before but she was suddenly overwhelmed with the foreign feeling as she came closer to the globe. The giant thing wasn't scary when you were floors upon floors higher than it was, but being this close made Jane want to grab Bunnymund's fluffy rabbit ears and pull them in front of her eyes…not that she would of course!

"Let us see where closest season is…" North mumbled as he walked up to the giant expanse of control panels. He started punching buttons and turning dials, before long he was shouting in Russian to his Yeti's. Bunnymund quickly pulled Jane out of the way of a Yeti who was barreling by with a tower of papers mounded in its arms.

Bunnymund nudged Jane and pointed at the globe, "Look at 'hat, Sheila, it's one of the seasons!"

"Mother of…" Jane muttered as a light in the middle of the UK suddenly changed colors from purple to a brilliant white, shining like a beacon among the purple mass. "I've always wanted to go to the Great Island."

Bunny, ignoring Jane, looked at North, "Do we know which season it is?"

"No," North frowned, "Da globe doesn't deepen the explanation of immortals; just a generalization of what we look for."

"Hmm…that's too bad."

"I know! I've been tinkering with da trans-mobile modulator to see if I can specify—"

Jane stomped on her foot, "We are wasting daylight people! We have a mission to find these seasons and talking about specifics for trans-whatever modu-laters is not part of this mission! Now let's get a move on!"

"She's got a point~" Jack snickered, winking at the two guardians.

"I see…to the sleigh then!" North laughed, waving everyone to follow him.

AN: I am so sorry that I didn't update earlier! I was planning on doing it since I was coming back from a tour in Kentucky on Sunday, but I didn't come home until 9 p.m. and literally I think I mentally ripped anyone's throat out when they talked to me…I didn't sleep that night and the rest of the week was kindof terrible! Anyway…I present to you all Chapter 10! Its kindof a filler but it's very important (Like most chapters in a story)! Have fun guys! R&R
