The team acquired the supplies necessary for the escape. The 8 of them then headed back to the underground bunker where Ozpin was waiting. While running back to the underground bunker, Yang asked Ruby "Hey how did you take care of Oobleck?"
Ruby answered, " I collapsed part of a building and I was able to trap Oobleck under the rubble. I don't think he died though, I could still hear some noises coming from him."
Yang nodded and all 8 of them continued running to the underground bunker, killing the zombies that were in their way.
They finally made it to the underground bunker. Jaune delivered the zombie kit to Ozpin. Ozpin said, "Thank you all for risking yourselves in retrieving this kit." Ozpin opened the kit, pulled out the med supplies and found the thing he was looking for; a can of coffee beans. He already had some water prepared, and he had the coffee maker plugged in. He then proceeded to make the best pot of coffee the 8 had ever had.
Ruby didn't really like coffee, but man was it good.
The 8 then healed any injuries, took a breather, drank fluids to stay hydrated, grabbed ammo, and then Ozpin laid out the plan.
"Okay so this is the plan. As you know the airplanes have been destroyed so there is no escape that way. So on the otherside of this bunker, there is an underground tunnel that'll lead to the forest. The plan is to walk to Vale or at least to some place where a helicopter can spot us. As far as I know, this zombie uprising is happening all over the kingdoms, I've received SOSs from all over the world. Now it is night and we're going into the forest which may be zombie-infested. We cannot take torches or else we'll attract too much attention. So just be on your guard at all times. I had miss Goodwitch do some reconnaissance around the campus, luckily we have access to the security cameras. We could not find other survivors."
Ruby's heart as well as the other's sank at this revelation.
"There doesn't appear to be any sense in waiting, we have to get out of here and help others in the city." Ozpin finished.
The 8 didn't want to leave the school behind in such a wreck but there was nothing more they could do.
Ruby then said, "Well then ramblers, let's get rambling."
Everyone readied up and took some backpacks with supplies in them. Ozpin opened the door to the hidden passage. The 10 then entered and began their exile from Beacon.
The underground passage was lighted with red lights, which gave an ominous glow to the passage.
After about 5 minutes of walking, Weiss spoke up and said, "You know I read a lot of books about Beacon's history and none of them ever mentioned a secret underground passage, that's probably why it's a secret, but when was this passage made?"
"Well it was made a few decades ago when the first zombie invasion happened. It was really bad and a lot people were massacred. This passage was made to escape the zombie invasion should it happen again. Problem is, since it had been so long since the zombie invasion, we have neglected to tell the students of this passage." Ozpin answered.
Yang then whispered to Blake, "There was a another zombie invasion?" Blake simply just shrugged.
After another minute of walking the group then had to descend down some stairs.
For 15 minutes the group made their way down the stairs, but towards the end Jaune tripped and fell for about 1 minute straight. Fortunately he was not hurt, well his ego was a bit hurt.
Eventually the group made it down and Pyrrha checked on Jaune, he was okay.
And then after all the stair walking, what was next was, more walking! They had to walk down another passage now. "God I haven't walked this long in forever!" Yang complied.
"Come on Yang, it doesn't hurt to walk a bit, Cardio!" Ruby said to Yang, cheerfully. Yang didn't respond.
Finally, after another 15 minutes of walking, the hidden passage finally came to end. The exit was now in sight. Ozpin approached the door, entered the combination and opened the door, the murderous darkness that was outside could now be seen. Ozpin said he would take the lead, Goodwitch was right behind him. The pair exited the bunker and took a look around at their surroundings.
They listened closely to the night, Ozpin, with his enhanced sense of smell, tried to catch the scent of any zombies. To his horror, he caught the scent of a few zombies, but to his relief they appeared to be far away. As long as they didn't make a lot of noise the zombies shouldn't bother them.
He signaled to his students to come out of the bunker, they did so. The rest of the group came out of the bunker and began to follow Ozpin and Goodwitch through the forest. All though they were still disappointed and angry with Ozpin, they had no choice but to put their complete trust into Ozpin and Goodwitch.
They began making there way through the forest when Ruby had the urge to look back to Beacon.
But as she did, her heart broke. Eventually the rest of the group noticed that Ruby wasn't moving with them and turned to look at Ruby but they were transfixed by the sight of Beacon.
Beacon was burning, bright and orange into the night.
It pained all of the group to see Beacon burning down, it pained Ozpin the most, having spent much of his life at Beacon, as a professor and as headmaster.
But eventually they turned back around and continued walking away from Beacon..
They were all still desperately wishing that they were in a nightmare and that any second they would wake up and everything would be okay. They knew fully well that wasn't going to happen.
All they could do was promise that they would return to Beacon and save it from the chaos it is currently plunged in.
