Thursday morning, Sam and Lewis entered English together to see the desks split in bundles. Cleo and Emma sat at one of the bundles, huddled close and talking.
"Cleo!" Lewis cried in surprise, hurrying to her table to sit down. Sam followed slowly behind. They began to talk in a hush, Sam only picking up the word 'Kim' a few times.
With two minutes until bell, Rikki hurried into the room and took the last seat in the bundle.
"Guys you would not believe what Zayne and I saw last night!"
The table turned to her sudden outburst.
"You were with Zayne last night?" Emma asked.
"Yeah, but what happ-"
"So we were meant to be worried about Cleo and you were with Zayne?" Emma contined. Rikki rolled her eyes.
"Fine, don't worry about it then- even though it's something that could change the whole damn world as we know it!"
"I'll tell you something that will change the whole world!" Emma snapped angrily.
"Emma," interrupted Cleo. "I'd like to hear what Rikki has to say." Emma slumped down in her seat in defeat.
"We were at the beach and Zayne had his bike when... I'm going to sound crazy but, a ghost showed up." Sam and Lewis looked up suddenly, while Emma screwed up her face.
"What the hell Rikki?"
"Emma shu-"
"Who was it?" Sam spoke up. The table turned to look at her. Cleo whispered in Emma's ear, asking who exactly Sam was.
"Um... There was two. A girl names Kitty and a gu-"
"Johnny 13," Sam didn't say it like a question.
"How did you know?" Rikki asked hesitantly as the tables eyes sat on Sam.
"I'm from Amity Park," she explained, as she pulled her phone from her pocket in order to message Danny. "Most haunted place in the world."
"Miss Manson," came a voice from the front. She looked up to see Vlad had entered the class. "No phones in class."
"No phones before bell actually," she spat back.
BRIIIIIING!
"There's the bell," Vlad replied casually, a smirk on his face. "Phone to me please." Sam exhaled angrily through her nose as she stormed to the front of the class. Around her other students were sliding their own phones back into their pockets. How convenient they weren't in trouble.
Vlad smirked evily as she laid the phone on his desk.
"You may collect it at the end of the lesson," he informed, as she glared at him a moment before going back to her desk, fuming.
"I don't like him," Cleo whispered as she sat down. "Who is he anyway?"
"Substitute teacher," Lewis replied, "Mr. Masters," he glanced uneasily at Sam.
"Silence!" Snapped Vlad, as the whispers all around the room increased.
"Now, today your all going to be working on a small group project I came up with," he explained. "Now, I come from a fine place named 'Wisconsin', very close the the world famous 'Amity Park'..." He trailed off and smiled around at the class.
"What's Amity Park?" Asked a girl from the other side of the room.
"A town," Vlad replied. "A town entitled, 'the ghost capital of the world!'" Nobody reacting thanks to the stupidity of what Vlad had just told them. No one except Sam who banged her head softly on the table.
"Your project today is to research... Ghosts," Vlad explained. The class moaned, this guy was a lunatic! "And I want you all to look for this particular name," he continued before turning to the board with a marker. He had only written the first letter when Sam guessed what was coming.
The class stared in confusion as the words were written on the board. The words;
DANNY PHANTOM.
If this was another attempt to bust Danny's identity to the world, Vlad needed to try harder.
"Sir, this is ridiculous," Sam spoke up as she slumped in her chair. She plonked her combat boots dramatically on the desk. "This is an English class- not a kindergarten with fairy tales. Danny Phantom is a myth."
"Oh Miss Manson," Vlad chuckled, picking her phone up of the table. "Are you sure?"
"Positive."
Vlad looked at the phone screen and started tapping away.
"You know you can learn a lot about a person- and their secrets- through the photos on their phone."
Sam glared at him angrily, "you can't do that!"
"Ah look at this intriguing photo! Is that a ghost portal I see..."
"Mrs Masters," the class turned to see Lewis standing up. "That's private and it's against school rules to go through a students private possessions."
"Child, please-"
"He's right sir," stepped up Rikki. "So put it down." Around the room, students began to argue against the teacher. Vlad's eyebrow quivered before he slammed the phone on his desk.
"BUTTER BISCUITS!" He wailed angrily, "GET TO WORK!"
