Chapter 10 ALICE IN DEADLAND
Matt: oh my god… the list goes on for a while.
Yui: I didn't even see this on my tracker when I was away… the only orders we had was Tokonosu and that's it.
Matt: but the list; Moscow, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, New York, Sydney… this pandemic was no coincidence… this was all planned out.
Saeko: so they are only here to extract queens, right?
Matt: and eliminate presence of any survivors that see them. But why the hell would they do this?
Chuck: for stocks. They want to increase the prices of their stocks.
Matt: that probably explained why Zombrex at Yokosuka had ridiculous prices just for 1.5 milligrams. What's the point of making it though if they just unleashed an entire pandemic across the globe…?
Yui: I don't know… I did not know about this entire list, I'm being honest!
Matt: it's alright. I understand. Right now, we'll tell everyone else when there's time.
Saeko: why not now?
Matt: they are either asleep or out cold. We have to wait for them to wake up. In the meantime, I will see about protective gear. I'm pretty sure whoever the hell Shizuka's friend is, that she probably has some decent armor, or something I can use for protection. -he walks upstairs-
Kohta: I'll be on lookout, if that's alright -he goes up with Matt-
-after a while, Matt comes out holding his fully loaded MG36-
Matt: how do you like the new armor? -he stands next to Kohta in what looks like modified SWAT armor-
Kohta: whoa! How did you manage to make that!?
Matt: told you back at the academy; I do have one creative mind with a lot of colorful language.
Kohta: oh yeah… but I don't remember the colorful language part.
Matt: I added on to that, you fat fuck.
Kohta: now I know what you mean by colorful language… -looks through the scope of the SR25- he Matt, take a look at that over there.
Matt: -he gets out his Barnett Wildcat and looks through the scope of the crossbow, he sees a man with his daughter running towards a house- I have a hunch that something's going to happen… and it isn't good. I'll start to make my way towards their position with Yui.
Kohta: are you crazy!? That's suicidal!
Matt: you're right. Chuck will come with me as well, then.
Kohta: that's not what I had in mind!
Matt: don't worry about us, Kohta. Chuck, Yui and I have been through a load of zombies before. Don't worry about us -he grins going downstairs- Yui, Chuck; it's about time we moved and do ourselves a massive favor.
Chuck: and what favor is that?
Matt: we are going to save that little girl over there from the zombies. Something tells me that something will happen to her father
Yui: then I'm set -smiles, pushing the slides of her Desert Eagles showing that she is loaded-
Chuck: if that's the case, then I'm set -he gets out his SCAR-L- so when will we move?
Matt: now. Chuck, you will be on the rooftops with me and Yui will go through the frontlines.
Kohta: wait, why will Yui go through the frontlines?
Yui: didn't I tell you before, moron? The zombies can't bite me or infect me in any way or form because of how dense and thick the armor is as well as what it is made of. Not only that, I have a little weapon called "Americas Buzz saw" -she gets out her M249 SAW, finally fully loaded-
Matt: this makes her a perfect person to clear out the zombies with ease.
Kohta: oh… now I remember.
Matt: so let's go.
Takashi: wait. I'm coming with.
Matt: no Takashi. I'm already gambling with our lives with what I have to do. I won't gamble more lives.
Takashi: please. Let me help -looks at him, face to face-
Matt: -thinks for a brief minute then sighs- alright. You'll group up with Chuck on the rooftops and I will be down the street with Yui, that way you can have a much easier time getting out of there.
Takashi: okay. We'll see you outside then.
Matt: right. -he loads up his MG36- come on Yui. Let's get to the streets.
Yui: alright!
-meanwhile-
Alice: daddy, where's mommy!?
Mr. Maresato: don't worry -smiles at Alice- she is alright -he runs to a house whose lights are on-
Alice: oh… okay…
Mr. Maresato: -starts knocking on the door- please open the door!
Resident: no!
Mr. Maresato: please, open the door! At least take my daughter in!
Resident: no! -he turns out the lights-
Mr. Maresato: open the door… or I will break down the door! -he gets out his large wrench-
Resident: -turns the lights back on- okay, okay! Give us a minute!
Mr. Maresato: thank god… -Chuck and Takashi look over the roof, Matt and Yui see it from afar-
Matt: -signals Chuck and Takashi to start moving-
Chuck: alright.
-the resident opens the door; just before Mr. Maresato can come in, he gets impaled in the chest-
Resident: I am sorry… -walks back and closes the door-
Mr. Maresato: -falls back against the gate, causing it to open; bleeding to death-
Alice: daddy…? -she starts to cry a bit-
Mr. Maresato: -coughs- don't worry Alice. I'm okay -smiles at her, Alice crying more as he finally dies-
Alice: no… no! -starts to cry loudly, attracting the zombies attention-
Matt: alright Yui! Let's get going!
Yui: alright! -she loads up her M249 SAW, the zombies closing in on Alice-
Alice: -goes to the corner of the yard, being cornered by the zombies- no! Get away from me! -a dog comes up to her and starts barking at the zombies-
-as one of the zombies gets close to her, Kohta shoots the zombie directly in the head-
Kohta: headshot!
Matt: alright Yui! That's our cue! Open fire!
Yui: Alright! -she starts to open fire at the same time as Matt, killing zombies as they keep walking-
Alice: huh…? -Chuck and Takashi jump down, beating down zombies that are getting close to Alice-
Chuck: it's alright kid! We can handle these guys! -he beats down and kills a zombie with the butt of his gun, Takashi killing zombies with his baseball bat-
Alice: -after the yard gets cleared, she begins to get up- are… they gone…?
Chuck: yeah. But I would stay away from the gate entrance.
Alice: why…? -she hears gunshots from afar- who is that over there…?
Takashi: friends of ours -smiles at her; she hears Yui and Matt getting closer, causing her to hide behind Chuck's back-
-after 5 minutes of gunfire, it finally stops and Matt and Yui come through the gates, both of them covered in blood-
Matt: talk about a lot of bullets fired. We even cleared out most of the zombies from the rain we fired upon them.
Takashi: at least a way has been cleared for us to go back.
Matt: yeah -notices Mr. Maresato's dead body- is that… your dad…?
Alice: -nods, tears in her eyes-
Matt: -he crouches down and covers Mr. Maresato's face with his shirt- he was a good man… and he deserved better… -he picks a flower from the bushes and hands it to Alice- since he's your father… why don't you do the honors, kid?
Alice: -nods, crying; putting the flower on her dad's dead corpse-
Matt: why don't you come with us? We can take care of you kid.
Alice: but mommy and daddy told me never to trust strangers…
Matt: don't worry -kneels down to her- sure we maybe strangers. But we are not strangers in this world that is slowly falling apart -pats her head- come on. We can take care of you.
Alice: -smiles a bit and hugs Matt- okay
Matt: good -smiles too- stay close to us -the dog wags its tail- you're pet, kid?
Alice: ummm… I guess you can say that -smiles-
Matt: then he can come with -pets its head, the dog licks his hand- cute I have to say -pets it more then gets up- alright team. Let's move out. We still have to get ready to leave tomorrow.
Chuck: alright then -he carries Alice on his back- just hang on, okay?
Alice: okay! -smiles and hangs on tight-
Matt: okay Yui. You know the drill.
Yui: hell yeah I do -she reloads her M249 SAW, Matt does the same with his MG36-
Matt: let's get to moving -he checks and gives the OK, Yui and Matt start leading the way-
Takashi: hey, what's your name?
Alice: me? My name is Alice. Alice Maresato -smiles-
Takashi: Nice to meet you -smiles at her- I am Takashi Komuro, and the guy carrying you is Chuck Greene.
Chuck: yep.
Alice: are you American?
Chuck: yep. I am.
Alice: cool!
Takashi: -chuckles a bit- the guy leading us down there is Matt. He's also American. And the girl next to him is Yui. She is pretty much unstoppable from these zombies.
Matt: and she has extensive knowledge on weapon crafting along with a knowing on how to take down these zombies in different ways.
Alice: extensive…?
Yui: -punches Matt in the shoulder- she's still young. She doesn't know that kind of vocabulary you moron.
Matt: fuck you too, asshole. You didn't have to hit me.
Yui: whatever. -faces Alice with a smile- let's just say I know a lot of ways to take on these zombies
Alice: oh! Okay!
Matt: you have an easy way with children…
Yui: because I had to take care of your ass for a little bit.
Matt: and thus began our relationship -shoots a zombie in an alleyway- can you tell me something I don't know already?
Yui: that I looked through your stuff when you told me not to when we visited Fortune City in 2009.
Matt: what!? I told you not to you fucking asshole! -he starts to put Yui in a headlock-
Yui: gah! Uncle! Uncle! Uncle!
Chuck: can't we just do this inside of the house instead of outside…?
Takashi: we're there anyway… -facepalms-
Chuck: -sighs- knock on the door for me; my hands are kind of full.
Takashi: sure. -knocks on the gate door- hey open up! We're back!
-Kohta comes downstairs and opens the door for them, Saeko next to him-
Takashi: thanks. -gets in-
Chuck: we did a great deal out there. Thank god everything's alright now.
Saeko: I know. By the way… -points at Matt and Yui who are fighting- don't they even realize that the door is open?
Chuck: I don't think they do…
Matt: I mean, far out! You looked through my personal stuff! I swear I should… -hears something- hey wait a minute…
Yui: what is it? -looks at Matt-
Matt: get inside and turn off the lights.
Yui: but.
Matt: just do it. I hear something, and it doesn't sound pleasant.
-Yui goes inside and shuts off all of the lights, Matt jumps up to the rooftop of a house; signaling Chuck, Kohta, Yui and Saeko to come up-
Kohta: what is it? -finally reaches the rooftop-
Matt: look over there, where at where we went just 10 minutes ago. -points, they all see a white and blue HMMWV along with two Stryker's- this doesn't look good…
-several Phenotrans come out of the HMMWV and starts knocking on the door hard-
Phenotrans Captain: open the door right now!
Resident: not this again… we won't open the door!
Phenotrans Captain: open the door right now, or we will use force!
Resident: no! We won't! -shuts out the lights again-
Phenotrans Captain: the won't listen. Hinata, begin to open fire.
Hinata: -he looks at the captain- are you sure?
Phenotrans Captain: no… I want you to plant nice little roses around their house… yes I am sure you moron! Open fire, now!
Hinata: alright. Stryker's, let's move and get ready to blow that house sky high!
All Phenotran Soldiers: yes sir! -the HMMWV starts to back up along with the Stryker's, all of them loading up their guns-
Hinata: fire on my command!
-the Stryker's finish loading up their MK-19 Automatic Grenade Launchers, each of which are set to High Explosive-
Hinata: and fire!
-all of the Stryker's begin to open fire on the house, killing everyone inside and demolishing the house; Matt and the others watch in horror as the house gets destroyed-
Phenotrans Captain: I think they've learned their lesson.
Hinata: -to himself- what lesson was learned here…?
Yui: -faints on Saeko-
Saeko: did they… just kill everyone in there…?
Matt: and how the hell did they get those kinds of vehicles…?
Chuck: it's like they weren't just prepared to just harvest the queens… I think they were also prepared to take us on…
