Well here's the ninth chapter of my Sweeney and Nellie story. A certain blonde haired girl and redhead get to finally meet in this chapter, this can't be all that awkward. Unfortunely I do not own Sweeney Todd... if I did the story would have actually happened like this.

Chapter 9: Polar Opposites Finally Meet

Lucy's going to be here any minute, he thought. It was later the same day that Ben had arrived home and he was up in his room making sure that he looked perfect for Lucy and pacing back and forth, restlessly; not necessarily in that order. Ben only paced when he was extremely nervous about something, but he was never really sure when the habit started for him. His father would always tell him that from the time he was able to walk… he was able to pace. Ben stood on edge the minute he heard a coach pull up outside; he ran over to the window and sure enough Lucy was waiting for him outside.

*Downstairs*

Nellie had been listening to the rhythmic tap of Ben's shoes hitting his floorboards for the past twenty minutes. What on earth could be so great about this girl? Nellie couldn't help wondering what Ben saw in Lucy; however she figured that she was going to find out soon enough since she'd just heard a coach pull up outside. She peeked out of her bedroom door to see Ben come downstairs in his best suit and newly polished shoes to meet a girl with flowing blonde hair at the bottom of the stairs. That must be her, Nellie thought.

Ben opened the door to the shop and the both of them walked inside. "Nellie, are you in here?" Ben called into the shop.

"I'll be there in a second," she came out a moment or so later and stood face to face with Ben and Lucy.

"There you are." Ben smiled at her and then at Lucy. "Nellie, this is Lucy… Lucy, this is my best friend Nellie." They smiled at each other and shook hands.

"It's great to finally meet you, Ben's told me so much about you." Lucy told her, ignoring Nellie's glare at Ben.

"Nice to meet you too." Nellie said, trying to maintain her composure. So this is who he falls for, she thought and I've known him a lot longer than she has.

"Well, we should probably get going if we still want to make our reservations. I'll see you later tonight Nell." Ben and Lucy walked outside, got into the coach, and drove off. As for Nellie, she walked back into her room and wondered what Ben saw in Lucy that he somehow didn't see in her.

*Four hours later*

Nellie heard the coach pull up outside once again and could hear Ben's laughter coming from outside. She looked out her bedroom door and saw them standing at the base of the staircase outside. Nellie watched them for a few minutes and saw something that made her outraged beyond all belief… Lucy kissed Ben. Nellie wouldn't have been all that upset if it had been a quick kiss on the cheek, but this one was on the lips. Ben didn't even seem the least bit shocked when she stopped. Not really wanting to cause a scene Nellie waited until Lucy was completely out of sight to speak with Ben. She walked up the stairs to Ben's room and was about to walk in, but she wasn't able to do it. Something inside of her wouldn't let her open the door to his bedroom, so Nellie just walked back downstairs and went to sleep; dreaming of the day when Ben would realize that she was in love with him.
