A/N: Thanks again for the reviews, favorites and follows! By the way, the reason I wanted to know if you guys actually check the song recommendations is because some of them actually have something to do with story. And by the way, I'm really sorry about not posting much. I just started high school this year and it's really stressful since all my classes are honors and I constantly have homework so I only go on whenever I have time, which is really little. Thanks to those that are still reading and I can assure you this story will go on. I just need to manage my time better.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything! Also, a couple of curse words are in this chapter. Just a warning.
Nico's POV:
Camp Half-blood has been hectic the past few days. Word had gone out that the Huntresses of Artemis will be arriving at camp soon.
Everybody was determined to win capture the flag this time. It didn't matter that the campers always lost because every year Camp Half-blood gets new campers with amazing abilities at their advantage. Including a certain son of Hades- Nico Di Angelo.
All the camp counselors had agreed that Nico was definitely an important player. They needed him for his shadow travel abilities and his army of skeletons. They had a plan to distract the enemy and use Nico as a secret weapon.
So, while everybody else is out on the battle field, all Nico had to do was summon skeletons and shadow travel to where the other teams flag was. Then he would shadow travel back with the flag successfully in his hands. Or at least, that was the plan. Nobody was sure if that was going to work considering the huntresses always had something up their sleeves. It wasn't always fair play. Actually, it never was.
And Nico wasn't the only powerful demigod at camp. There were others, but their godly parents weren't children from the big three. Which also meant, they wouldn't be able to cause much damage and that they would burn up most of their energy faster.
Now, Nico didn't usually participate in Camp activities with everyone taking part in it, but this time, it was an exception. He hoped that he'd get a chance to apologize to Thalia and then beg for her forgiveness. Her fatal flaw may not be holding grudges, like Nico, but she was still as stubborn as a prude.
Thalia's POV:
There were a billion possibilities as to what Artemis could possibly want to discuss with her and only half of them were good things.
Thalia was more than positive that this wasn't a good thing. She just had this guttural feeling in the pit of her stomach and the instinct within her that told her nothing good was going to come out of this.
She wasn't used to being nervous. Nor was she used to that strong of a feeling inside of her.
Most of the times, she had things under control. She could keep a stoic expression on her face, even if she was feeling overwhelmed. She could more than likely take control of things and lead them to a new direction before things got out of hand. She could do a lot of things that could qualify her as a natural leader. And she was.
She inherited a lot of qualities- both good and bad from her father, Zeus. But that didn't necessarily mean invincibility nor did it meant that she had just as much power. It only meant she had some good qualities in her that kept her alive, yet at the same time, could lead her to a tremendous amount of trouble.
Her fatal flaw seemed to cause her the most trouble. She wasn't very good at keeping her temper under control. And she was even worse at self control. That was why the other huntresses knew better than to piss her off too much. They annoyed her, yes, but they wouldn't dare do anything that crossed the line and made her completely lose control.
Artemis had talked to her about that many times. Way too many times. She understood that Thalia couldn't help it since it was her fatal flaw, but she told her to control it better.
Thalia hoped that was it considering she did blow up on one of the new recruits last week when they couldn't take a damn hint. She hoped that Artemis wasn't going to call her out on her strange and nervous behavior the past couple weeks or so. That would lead to Thalia telling Artemis she wanted to quit and she wasn't entirely ready for that. She knew that she would have to suck it up and get it over with soon enough but she was scared of the outcome. Artemis could do some major damage when she was well over the point of being angry and quiting the hunt is one of those things.
She took a deep breath before entering Artemis' tent. This couldn't be good, she thought to herself.
Artemis was siting cross-legged with a gray wolf resting it's head on her lap as she stroked it's fur and scratched between it's ears.
At first glance, you could already tell how much she loved her wild animals. She gave her full undivided attention towards the little wolf. Her silver eyes never left the little pup as it snored away in her lap. She stared at it adoringly with her auburn hair gently hovering over the small animal.
"Lady Artemis," Thalia bowed, "You called me?"
Artemis looked up and motioned for her to take a seat.
"Thalia, there's something that I believe we need to address. I've noticed it for quite a while now and I've been giving you the benefit of the doubt but I can't do that anymore. You haven't been yourself lately and your behavior is different. You get irritated much more easily and your actions are a bit too rash compared to how you normally are. Care to explain this, Thalia?"
Thalia gulped. She should have known where this was headed.
"I-uh..." She cleared her throat. "I'm sorry Lady Artemis. I can't do this anymore... I'm sure you are aware of the fact that I mainly joined the hunt to escape the prophecy. I just don't feel like the hunt is the right place for me anymore. I hope you understand why I would like to quit the hunt."
