Chapter 10
Ray POV
Ray Palmer was a businessman who reacted to death of employees slightly differently than others. Since he found out about the deaths he had confined himself into his lab in an attempt to finish his ATOM suit. If he could finish it soon then he could protect himself and his other high end employees. It was clear this was the work of his competitors trying to stop the business, he didn't think any big business would be so blatant to attempt something like this but it was a tough world in which he lived.
The last step to complete was to get the gauntlet modulator to operate with the helmet system, he had been working the problem for the last few days to no avail but now people relied on him including felicity.
As his thoughts turned to Felicity he suddenly saw her outside his office/lab walking towards it with a young women. Felicity signalled for the women to wait outside and she came in.
Felicity entered to see Ray's office in an awful state with lab equipment all over the place, she did not look pleased "What are you doing Ray?! Two of your employees have been killed, you're the next on the list and you're working?"
Ray tried to explain "On the ATOM suit. So I can protect myself and my employees. And you."
Felicity paused and thought about it and said "You can finish it later, you must go under police custody."
Ray looked at Felicity into her eyes and said "You know I can't. Since Anna died because I wasn't strong enough I vowed nothing would happen to anyone in my life. The police can't stop this guy. I can."
Felicity looked almost in disbelief and said "It's not ready yet. The guy coming after us doesn't wait about. He will strike. Soon. If you don't believe in the police there is somewhere else you could come."
"I'm close now. Where else can we go?"
Felicity paused and thought about it then said "Somewhere safe. Trust me. Please Ray."
She moved towards him and said "I didn't want to admit it before because we work together but I care about you. A lot. I will help you with you mission. But I don't want to see you die before you have a chance to make a difference. I don't want you to die before I do this."
She finished her sentence and quickly went to kiss him. They kissed for a little while.
Ray smiled when they pulled out and said "I feel the same way but I have to this. You go somewhere safe. Text me the location when you're there in case you need help."
Felicity had tears in her eyes. She looked defeated and she exited the room.
Roy POV
Roy had been out in the streets roaming around, he had to keep a low profile during the day. Roy had passed the Vincent family house, he still looked over them. He had a heavy heart over what happened with the Cop and his way of dealing with it was to give to his family and make sure they were okay. If the time came he would be there for Michelle and her son Rory.
As Roy was making his way back to the foundry he saw Felicity and Thea just outside the Club. He had to keep his distance because there could be people about and he was in his Arsenal suit. As he looked on he couldn't help looking at Thea, he still had feelings for her.
As Roy was edging towards the club he heard a bike engine and suddenly a figure in black jumped off a bike and fired an arrow towards Felicity. Thea managed to run in front of Felicity and catch the arrow, Malcolm must have taught her that.
Roy was running over as Komodo clashed briefly with Thea before throwing a dart at her arm which pushed her over, Felicity got her dart gun out but Komodo knocked it out of her hand. He drew a knife from his belt and swiped it towards Felicity.
Roy arrived just in time and knocked Komodo out the way. He paused and said "I remember you. You're the Arrow's pawn, the one who couldn't keep up."
Roy replied "A lot has changed since then."
He drew an arrow and fired it, Komodo blocked it with his bow then ran up to Roy and began the clash bow to bow. When Roy became an archery vigilant he never thought it would involve swordplay but using bows like these meant it could be used like a sword.
He noticed Felicity looking after Thea, she seemed just unconscious. Roy continued to clash with Komodo, the fight seemed even. Roy managed to smash Komodo's bow away with his own and they fought hand to hand.
Roy was landing kicks better than his opponent, Roy realised that Komodo's attention was diverting towards the nearby Felicity. Roy then stepped away, Komodo used his instinct and went for Felicity which allowed Roy to draw a baton and strike Komodo on the back of his head.
Roy stood over Komodo now feeling like victory was his. However Komodo rolled away from him, released a smoke bomb. Roy got in a protective position over Felicity and Thea.
Went the smoke cleared Komodo had gone, he noticed that the media had arrived which make things awkward for them now. Roy would have to take Thea to the foundry by going around and shaking off the media.
He grabbed Thea and set off running around. He needed to get her looked at.
Once he had ran around the side of the neighbourhood and made it to the back entrance of the foundry he opened the door and entered running straight to the medical table and putting Thea on it.
Roy sat down to catch his breath while Diggle checked over Thea, he smiled at Roy and said "She's fine, it was just a tranq dart. She's waking up."
That was a relief to Roy, he looked over to see that Felicity looked shaken up but fine. When Thea had woken up and the other members of Team Arrow looked around Roy addressed them "We need to stop this son of a bitch."
