Alright, this chapter will start off with… you guessed, it, the twins. This will be a big chapter, as promised. Pan's just gotten out of her third year of college, and will be heading home. Capsule Corp is hosting a summer charity Ball, which Trunks will ask her to attend with him. While prepping with the other girls; Marron and Bra, in the city, she runs into a bit of a surprise. You probably know the rest, but to those who don't… I won't spoil it for you. Enjoy the read.
Jana strode back into the small bedroom that the twins inhabited, carrying a carry-on bag for her trip. She frowned at the two eleven year olds sleeping in the bed and promptly slammed her hand on the door with a resounding clap. The two girls sat up at once, rubbing the sleep from their eyes with shaking hands.
The two of them had grown some in the past three years, though they were still a bit small for their age. Both girls had begun to curve out, and each sported a 36B rack. Their hips were widening out some; creating a subtle hour glass. Glossy black hair tumbled down to the smalls of their back, and periwinkle blue eyes were fringed with thick, curly lashes.
Each girl had a set of full, cherry reddish-pink lips, a small nose, and; of course, large eyes that balanced their round faces. Bangs cloaked the sides of their faces, cut into artful layers. The only way to tell the two apart was by size alone. Chyna was still a good bit smaller than her sister, Corra; not by much, just enough to be noticeable.
"About time you two brats got out of the bed." The harsh woman sneered, narrowing her grey eyes at them, "Pack some clothes; we're going on a trip. Chan says I'm not to leave you in the house alone, though I don't see why. It's not like you'll get far if you try to escape. If his thugs don't catch you, the dogs certainly will, and it won't be pretty then."
Corra straightened her dark blue tank top and nodded to indicate her understanding, and Jana left the room. Her sister looked down at the floor, and she rubbed her arm comfortingly, "come on. If we do everything right, maybe it won't be as bad."
Chyna nodded, and her bangs and hair slid away from her face and neck, revealing dark hickies on her neck and collar bone, and a harsh blue bruise at her jawline, "okay…"
Corra winced at the sight; she knew all too well that Channing; while he liked both of them, liked her sister a bit more; erring on an obsession, "let's get dressed and pack a few things."
The two girls moved slowly around the room, grabbing stray clothing and shoes to get ready for this sudden, impromptu trip. Corra went for an oversized grey t-shirt and some black lycra capris with some old black running shoes. Chyna put on a light blue t-shirt, some too-large jeans, and some worn out black flats.
The two of them shared a duffle, packing the bare necessities. They packed toiletries like pads or tampons as a precaution; even though Jana had been slipping birth control in their food. When the twins made nine years, Jana started hiding birth control pills in their food to prevent their monthly cycle from beginning. Only recently had they found the pills and, since then, they'd removed the capsules from the food, though things had yet to begin working in that department.
"Oh my kami," Jana's irritated voice resonated from the first floor, "will you two brats get your asses down here so we can go!? I don't have the fucking time for you to go slower than constipated shit!"
Corra zipped up the bag and slung it over her shoulder, even though her sister had been reaching for it. She shook her sister off when she tried to take it back, "you've got bruises all over your back. I'll carry it." Chyna frowned but relented, and the two of them made their way down the stairs.
Jana saw the two of them coming and muttered something under her breath for opening the front door. The twins went out first, and then she came behind them and closed the door behind her, "I could be smoking a fucking joint right now… now I'm stuck with these idiot brats."
The two girls got into the backseat of Jana's beat-up sedan and tried to stay as quiet as physically possible. It seemed their 'mother' was in a mood, and was not to be trifled with. Jana slammed the driver's door behind her and turned the key in the ignition. The engine tittered and then finally turned over, and she peeled out of the driveway, headed for the airport.
*meanwhile*
"Panny!"
Bra's 'lovely' voice shattered Pan's dreams of being with Trunks as she lay in their California King sized bed, listless to the early morning activities of Satan City. She and Trunks had a townhouse near the middle of the city, right near her Grampa Satan's home. They stayed in the townhouse when she was home from med school, which was going quite well. She'd be ready to graduate and become an OB/GYN in the next two years, something she was grateful for.
"Pan, è il momento di alzarsi. La palla è stasera!"
(T/N: Pan, it's time to get up. The Ball is tonight!)
Bra's now-fluent Italian pierced the fragile veil of unconsciousness around Pan's mind, and the brunette sat up, holding the sheets against her naked chest. She and Trunks had been a bit frisky the night before, and she'd been too lax and sleepy to put her pajamas back on after their passionate play time.
Trunks himself emerged from the bathroom, smiling apologetically as he tied a gray tie around his neck, "Sorry, love, she kinda barged in." Bra rolled her eyes, "barged in insinuates that I had to force my way in. You can't hide a spare key to save your life. I merely walked in."
"It's five in the morning, why can't we do this later? You know, when I'm actually fully conscious?" The twenty one year old quarter saiyan asked desperately. Her hair was still cut to her shoulder blades; though the style was different. She'd managed to smooth her natural waves out and added some layers with a few lowlights in a deep blue-black that meshed perfectly with her rich ebony hair color.
"Because our spa appointment is at seven and we need to be there early before all the other rich cows start rolling in. Now, alzarsi!" Bra ordered, "or I will yank that sheet off."
"Can you get out? I'm not flashing my lady bits to anyone but Trunks." Pan relented. Bra beamed, "dress comfy," and traipsed out of the room.
Pan sighed deeply and stepped out of the bed, allowing the dark red silk sheet to fall away from her nude form. Trunks bit back a muted growl as he eyed her. The brunette smirked as she made her way across the room to her closet, purposefully allowing her hips to sway sinuously with each step.
"See something you like?" Pan asked, fake nonchalance in her voice as she gathered a pair of purple sweat pants and a fitted white t-shirt. Trunks nodded once, "you should know." She laughed, the bell-like tones ringing across the room, "should I?"
The saiyan Prince's eyes darkened, and he phased over to her, pulling her flush against the front of his body to show her what her nakedness did to him. Her eyes widened and she looked up at him with hunger in her eyes.
"We'll finish this after the ball tonight, Miss Son." Trunks told her, his voice gruff with lust, and a cheeky grin spread over his face as Pan's small, supple form trembled in his arms. Teasing, he skimmed the skin of her shoulder with his nose and was rewarded with the heady, tangy musk of her arousal. Pan mewled and leaned into him, "no, why not now?"
"My sister is outside, and I have to be to work in less than half an hour." Trunks told her, "and this is only fair after that the show you just put on."
"At least I have a chance to blow off steam in that nice, spacious shower of ours. You know," Pan's voice became hypnotic as she painted a mental image for him with her words, "with all those nozzles spraying at me. The pressure of all that hot water and the steam rising around me, enveloping my body… Just imagine if I turn on the massaging jets… you know how I love that."
"Dammit, Pan." Trunks hissed, looking down at the bulge in his pants, "screw it, the office can survive an hour without me." With impatient hands, he tore his work clothes off and stumbled into the bathroom with a squealing Pan in his arms. He maneuvered them both into the shower and turned the water on hot...
*an hour later*
Bra looked up, annoyed, as the door to the master bedroom finally opened, but then faltered as she took in the tell-tale glow emanating from both her brother and best friend's skin. The two of them looks positively refreshed and sated… and wouldn't stop subtly molesting each other.
"You absolute animals can't go a day without sex," the bluenette snapped, "now come on, Pan; we've got an hour to get to the spa."
Pan nodded and pecked Trunks on the lips, "goodbye, handsome." He chuckled and deepened the kiss, ignoring her squeals of protest. When he pulled away, Pan stumbled for a moment, and then gathered her bearings with a goofy smile.
"See you later on tonight, sexy." Trunks purred, slapping her firmly on her backside. Pan jumped a mile into the air, and Bra made a disgusted noise before dragging her friend out of the townhouse, muttering about the couple under her breath as she shoved Pan into the back seat. Marron sat in the passenger seat, giggling to herself.
"Oh, shut up, Maz." Bra hissed as she slid into the driver's seat and started the engine, "come on, we've got to burn some serious rubber." The engine roared to life, and the bluenette pulled away from the curb as quick as lightning. There was some serious time to make up here.
"So, Panny," Marron began with a giggle, "bed, floor, or shower?"
"Shower," The brunette replied, still grinning, "It was the hottest thing ever. Not ever, but you get me." Marron turned around and slapped Pan a high five, "I'm glad you got the memo to stall her out with sexy time."
Bra huffed and rolled her eyes, though a smile was fighting to form at the edges of her lips, "you two are total sex addicts, I swear." Raucous laughter filled the sedan as Bra pulled onto the open highway.
*at the airport*
Jana handed the girls two tickets for business class, keeping a glossy first class ticket for herself, "find your seats and stay there. If you try to run when we land, I'm telling Chan to put a hit out for the both of you. Understood?"
Both girls nodded quickly, eager to be away from the dreadful woman. She nodded and stood as they called for first class to board, "you'd better be on this flight; otherwise you're deader than a doornail." The skinny woman strutted away, carrying her carry-on on her shoulder. Not once did she glance back at the twins. As soon as she was on board, the two girls relaxed.
"I can't read this," Chyna murmured, holding up her ticket, "it's too blurry." Corra examined her own ticket, "you probably need glasses; not that they'll ever get us any. We're going to… Satan City."
(A/N: Chyna's sight problems are courtesy of Gohan's genes, of course.)
"Isn't that where the Earth's Savior lives?" Chyna inquired, "I wish he could save us." Corra nodded in agreement, clutching the ticket tightly in her hand, "his granddaughter is really cool."
"Yeah, I wish I could be like her. She's pretty and strong." Chyna agreed, "I wish we had an older brother or sister like her."
(A/N: I know, too much. Chai: Chai-nuh: Chyna)
"Me, too, Chai-chan." Corra agreed, "Maybe things would've been a lot different if our birth parents had known that we were still alive when we were born."
It was no secret to the girls that Channing and Jana weren't their parents. They'd told the twins the entire story; omitting names, when they were nine in an attempt to break their spirits and stop their attempts to escape. If anything, it made their attempts to get away increase. They knew they had parents out there, and they desperately wanted to find them.
The escaping got difficult when Channing got a pair of pit bulls. He came home one day to find Corra in the yard, thigh clamped in the mouth of one of the dogs while the other kept Chyna cornered. That had been when they were nine. Over the years, Channing had the dogs trained to keep the two of them in the house unless he told them otherwise.
Corra rubbed absently at the scar on the back of her right thigh, staring into space as she remembered that particular day. The call came for business class, and the twins hurried towards the terminal to board the plane and find their seats.
The seats where a window seat, and the seat next to it. Corra let her smaller sister take the window and sat in the other seat. The two of them looked around the inside of the plane with wide eyes, suddenly nervous. This was their first time ever getting on a plane, after all. Usually they were left behind when Channing and Jana went on a trip, but now, they were too old for that. They knew things.
A flight attendant noticed the two small girls and walked over, wondering where their parents were. She knelt down to their eye level and smiled, "I'm Haley, welcome aboard." Corra smiled timidly, "I'm Corra and this is my twin, Chyna." Chyna waved shyly, "Hello."
"Where are your parents, girls? It seems strange for you two to be alone. You're so young…" Haley asked, truly concerned. Corra looked down, "our step mother is in first class. She doesn't like us much, so we have to sit back here." Much was the understatement of the year.
Who could possibly not like these little angels, Haley wondered, outraged by this information. From then on, she vowed to watch over the two girls and make sure nothing happened to them. She smiled warmly, "how'd you like some milk and chocolate chip cookies?"
"She told us not to ask for anything." Corra said sadly; the thought of cookies and milk was exciting to her. Haley smirked, "well, she's all the way in first class, so she'll never know. I'll go get you your milk and cookies." She winked and stood up, walking towards the kitchen. Along the way, Marie; another attendant, stopped her.
"Who are those kids you were talking to?"
Haley sighed and began to explain the twins' situation, asking her friend to relay the message to the rest of the business class attendants while she got the girls a snack. Marie was just as outraged as her friend; if not more, and went to spread the word about the two adorable little angels in the business class. Rest assured the little ones would be taken care of.
*meanwhile*
Pan twisted her hands this way and that, admiring the way the sunlight caught the sparkles in the red nail polish on her fingers. Marron watched her for a moment, and then laughed, "kleptomania much, Panny?"
"Just because I'm distracted by sparkly things does not mean I'm a kleptomaniac." Pan hissed in reply, still watching the red glitter of the polish, "but it's so shiny..."
"Alright, ignoring that," Bra said with a giggle, "we've got some time to kill until we have to get our hair and makeup done, so let's just walk around Satan City for a while. Maybe we can pick up some lunch. Sound good?"
"Great," Pan mumbled as her stomach growled, "someone didn't let me eat breakfast this morning." Bra rolled her eyes, "maybe you wouldn't be so hungry if you'd just showered instead of screwing my brother in the shower. Yes, Pan, there is quite a difference between the two."
"Whatever, you're just jealous because you didn't think to screw Goten this morning," Marron sniggered, "I know I'm glad I dragged Uub into the shower with me, because I knew we wouldn't get another chance to do anything until tonight after the Ball."
"You guys are just sex addicts that just happen to be in Heat." Bra mock-snapped, pulling into the driveway of Pan and Trunks' townhouse, "we'll leave the car here and walk for now. We're in the middle of the city."
"It's nine; we can grab something small for a late breakfast, and then walk around and get lunch at one." Pan suggested, and Bra agreed, "Sounds like a good idea. Let's go grab some coffee and bear claws from Starbucks."
The three Z girls made their way down the walk, gossiping and giggling like they were in high school again.
*noon*
"I hope you had a nice time, girls." Haley murmured to the twins as the passengers began filing off of the plane. A smile formed on Corra and Chyna's lips, "we did. Thank you so much." The attendant smiled, "you'd better hurry along. Your step mother might be looking for you."
Quickly as they'd risen, the smiles deflated on their faces, and Corra nodded, "we'd better go." To Haley's surprise and joy, Corra gave her a warm hug, and her sister did the same.
"Bye, Ms. Haley." Both girls waved as they got off of the plane and headed into the airport. Haley watched them go with a heavy heart, and Marie came and put a comforting hand on her shoulder, "there's nothing we can do." She sighed, "I know. I can't help but wish, though, can I?"
*airport*
Jana stood just beyond the metal detectors, scanning the crowd with sharp eyes. Her phone was in her hand, ready to dial a number to put a hit out on both girls. If they didn't show up in five minutes, she would make the arrangements and the brats would pay dearly. Her finger moved away from the dial button when she saw the two girls hurrying over to her. They made it through security and gathered their duffle before joining her.
"Come on, move your asses, we're walking." The blonde woman sneered, marching through the airport and out onto the streets.
"Stay with me and don't you dare get lost, little brats. You're giving us more money to blow." Jana hissed, wrapping her clawed hands around the little eleven year olds hands and dragging them along through the sea of people. They were in Satan City, visiting an old supplier of hers while Chan handled some business in the states.
'I hope he comes back loaded. I'm low on green.' Jana thought, squeezing the little hands in her grip tighter.
Chyna whimpered and pulled back a little to ease the pressure. Jana turned and shot her a ruthless glare, "Stop yanking, brat!"
Corra narrowed her lilac eyes at Jana as her sister burst into tears, "Leave her alone!" Jana whirled to face her, and she gulped at the malice in her eyes as she pulled her hand back...
*across the street* (A/N: Let's just say the airport is near the city, just for the sake of this story.)
Pan, Bra, and Marron looked up as a child began to cry nearby. "Humph, what a shame. Doesn't she know hitting crying children will only make them cry harder?" Bra said softly, watching the irritated mother pop one of her twin daughters on the arm.
"Someone should stop her; she's hurting that poor baby." Marron whispered.
Pan stood frozen, 'I feel like I know those girls... but how?' Suddenly, the smaller girl looked up at her with her gigantic, expressive lilac eyes, a few tears streaming down her pale cheeks.
'I know this face... but where?' she needed to see that person for her mind to make the connection her self-conscious had made the moment she heard the twins cry. She had to do something...
"Pan, what are you doing?" Bra called after her friend, watching as she rushed over to the mother and children.
"Hey," Pan growled, "you're hurting her!"
Jana jumped, looking at the owner of the voice in surprise, and then horror. 'Great, just what I needed. It's their older sister! Quick, think of something!' Jana hurriedly gathered herself together and smoothed her clothing and hair, "I'm sorry; I'm looking for my friend's home and I'm a little frustrated because she gave me confusing directions. The girls are being difficult."
Pan looked down at the two girls huddled together on the sidewalk, staring at her with their big eyes, "That's doesn't mean you should hurt them. They have lovely eyes... they remind me of my mother."
The last part slipped out without her even thinking it. She watched as shock and fear appeared in the woman's eyes and frowned at her suspiciously.
"Pan, we need to go!" Bra hissed, grabbing her arm.
"Huh," Pan gasped, looking away from the little girls, whose gazes had become somewhat beseeching, as though they were asking her for something, "oh, right, the party."
Bra nodded, "exactly," and looked down at the girls, "they're so cute! They remind me of Videl! Sorry to inconvenience you, ma'am." Jana nodded, "Come along, girls."
Chyna and Corra slowly looked away from Pan and walked over to their 'mother'. Something in Pan told her to scoop them up and take them somewhere safe, but she pushed the weird urge away. She kept her eyes on the little family until they vanished around the corner.
Marron nudged her friend, "What was that, Pan?" Pan blinked, "What was what? I was just protecting those girls." The blonde raised a brow, "I've never seen you move that fast in public." The brunette shrugged, "I guess I was following some innate female instinct." Bra rolled her eyes, "Your 'innate instinct' is about to make us late for our lunch order!"
"I just- I felt weird about those two little kids... I can't explain, but I just felt like I had to protect them." Pan mumbled.
"They reminded you of your mother, hon, that's probably why." The bluenette squeezed her friend's hand, and realization washed through Pan's mind.
'They're about the right age... and the resemblance is... No, Pan, there's no way. They're dead; Mama and Papa said so,' but as she pondered what she'd seen, she couldn't shake the idea that there might be a chance.
*meanwhile*
As soon as Jana rounded the corner with the girls, she turned on them with a glare that could melt the Arctic Circle, and both girls recoiled.
"What the hell were you thinking?!" Jane shrieked, "pulling a stunt like that in public; I could've gone to jail for that! That stupid girl had to come over… damn her!"
Corra and Chyna watched her rant and rave to herself as they pondered the past few moments. Pan Son; the granddaughter of the World's Savior, had stopped their mother from beating on them. She'd saved them; only momentarily, but saved them nonetheless. Both girls were having trouble processing it all; too stunned to even move.
Done with her rant, Jana grabbed both girls by the hand and screamed, "Walk, dammit," before hightailing it down the streets. She was almost to the house that her old supplier worked out of, and she was desperately in need of a nice joint to light up with and smoke her worries away.
*later on that evening*
Pan stood in front of the mirror on the back of her bedroom door of her personal room in Capsule Corp, carefully pulling the sparkling red dress she wore into perfect positioning on her body. The dress was strapless and molded to her curvy figure all the way to her hips, where it fell to pool around her feet. There was a racy slit all the way up to almost the top of her right thigh, showing off her voluptuous legs. They looked to be miles long; especially when she wore heels like the ones she wore tonight. Silver and strappy, with a heel that looked seven inches high.
Pan's hair was curled to perfection with a silver flower in it to provide a bit of a splash. She wore long diamond earrings in her ears and a diamond collar around her neck with a matching cuff around her left wrist. Her makeup was dark and dramatic, and her lips were coated in a shimmery dark red gloss that made her lovely smile truly stand out.
Even as she stood there, primping for her night with Trunks, she couldn't shake the frightened faces of those young girls out of her mind. She had her suspicions, yes, but she would keep them to herself until she found something more concrete. It would be terrible for her to get her parent's hopes up, only to be wrong in the end; that would be a horrible thing to do.
No more of this, she surmised, I have to smile and act happy for everyone else; I can think about this later. The quarter saiyan gathered her stole and her clutch and made her way out of the room and down the hall where Trunks waited for her.
Pan had the pleasure of watching her boyfriend's jaw drop as she met him at the top of the stairs and grinned, linking her arm with his just as their names were called. With a shared smile, the couple made their way down into the ball room full of colorful gowns, gossiping women and the occasional person who'd had one too many a drink tonight.
*later*
Trunks gently twirled Pan around on the dance floor, smiling for the camera's benefit. Inside he was full of anxiety and confusion. As the two of them danced under the bright lights, he couldn't help but recall a conversation that had taken place just a half hour before the ball…
… Trunks stood in his bedroom, tugging at the bow tie tied around his neck nervously. He wandered from room to room, searching for the person he really wanted to speak to. The men of the Z Senshi; and most of the women, were already at Capsule Corp, and yet he was having trouble finding-.
"Trunks, you look like you're about to throw up." Gohan joked as he entered the longue Trunks had just looked into. The lavender haired prince flushed at that notion, and then began gathering his courage. Gohan looked at him strangely, wondering what the problem was, "Trunks?"
"Gohan… c-can I talk to you about something?" The saiyan Prince asked shakily, and Gohan nodded, "sure, Trunks."
Pan pulling away from him to go dance with her father pulled him out of his reverie, and Trunks looked up as his girlfriend linked up with her father. Gohan caught his gaze and nodded at him before pulling Pan into a slow waltz. Videl came up to him, "Can I have this dance, Trunks?" He nodded and took her hand, easily falling back into step and rhythm…
… The lavender haired demi twiddled his thumbs nervously as he stared a hole into the ground between his tux shoes. Gohan coughed slightly, "What is it, Trunks."
"W-well, I've been dating Pan for three years now, and I've started… I've started to think about the, umm, the future quite a bit, and I think I'm ready to take our relationship to the next level." He said in a near continuous stream of gibberish due to his nervousness.
Gohan's eyes widened, "you want to marry Pan?"
Trunks gulped loudly and nodded, "I've thought hard about this, and I know she's exactly who I want to spend the rest of my life with, which is why I wanted to ask you for permission to ask for her hand in marriage." This time his voice was stronger and less shaky, "so do I have your blessing?"
Gohan chuckled softly and walked over to the Prince, placing a firm hand on his shoulder, "Trunks, you've had my blessing since the day I caught you two in her room, making out. Sure, I was a bit unreasonable, but my mother helped me see that the both of you care deeply for one another; much like Videl and I, and I realized that I wanted Pan to have the exact same kind of bond that Vi and I share, and I know she'll find that in you. So; yes, you have my blessing."
Trunks breathed a sigh of relief, "Thanks, Gohan." Gohan chuckled at him, "when are you planning to ask her?"
"I need to find the perfect ring for her; something that suits her perfectly. When I find that ring, then I'll start thinking about how I'm going to ask." Trunks said softly, and the father nodded in response, "good luck."
"Thanks."
The song came to an end, and Videl pecked his cheek before pulling away from him. Trunks kissed her cheek in return and set his sights on the Siren cloaked in red making her way over to him. When she closed the distance, he planted a gentle kiss on her lips, "Having a good time, Princess?"
"It's the same old Summer charity Ball, Trunks, so it's so-so, as usual. I'd have more fun if there weren't any cameras, but I know how Aunt B likes her events to be televised." Pan replied with a giggle and kissed him again; this time with more gusto, "come on; dance with me again."
Trunks nodded and effortlessly twirled her into his arms as the next song began to play. This time around, they simply swayed to the slow beat of the love ballad, staring deeply into each other's eyes. Neither one could imagine being with anyone else.
*elsewhere*
While their ridiculous 'mother' got her smoke on, the twins were locked up in a room with a small television and a mattress in it. The Summer charity Ball was on, and the girls settled in to watch. They loved watched the charity Balls, and they loved looking at the gowns even more. Everyone always looked so beautiful and looked to be having the most fun in the world; something they wished they could have for themselves.
"Corra, look," Chyna squeaked suddenly, nudging her sister so she'd look at the screen, "look!" Corra looked at the screen and smiled. The camera had panned around and settled on a shot of Pan Son ensconced in the arms of Trunks Briefs; the president of Capsule Corp. The two of them looked to be very much and very deeply in love with one another as they swayed gently, foreheads pressed together, staring deeply into one another's eyes.
"They make such a cute couple." Chyna whispered, glancing over at her sister. Corra nodded in agreement, "Yeah, they do. They really do."
I told you this chapter would be a big one! Trunks asked for Pan's hand in marriage and Pan got to see the twins face to face! Alright, the next chapter will feature Trunks' hunt for the perfect ring, and maybe Pan and Marron graduating from Med school. Yes, I realize the time length they spent in medical school is unrealistic, but I'll just chalk it up to good genes and great work ethic and leave it at that. The chapter after the next will be a very big chapter, and may just feature Trunks' proposal. I hope you guys like this!

SPOILER ALERT: For those who are getting antsy, Pan will get to actually talk to the twins at around chapter fourteen or fifteen.
