JENNY'S POV

"Leon...you're alive…"

I couldn't believe my eyes. All the way back then, Matt said that Leon was gone, that he was lost in a horde, but all this time, he was alive. My question was how? How did he escape?

"You know each other?" Benji spoke up, which caused Leon to glance at him. "Yes, yes we do." Leon proceeded to tightly hug me. "I'm sorry for leaving you behind…" Leon mumbled. "I wish we went back for you." Leon turned to Terrance. "Where's everyone else?" Leon asked. "Well, Heath, Beth, Eli, and Tyler are with another group as part of a plan from Benji here." Leon nodded. "How about Matt, is he here?"

I knew he would ask this question, I just knew it. Bowing my head, I reluctantly spoke the truth. "He's gone…" When I looked up, Leon was smiling, but it looked rather pained. "No he's not, he's still here!" Leon responded, still grinning, which unnerved me greatly. "Yeah, he's right here!" Leon proceeded to hug the air and pat it as if it were Matt.

How long was Leon by himself?

"Well, we got a group, would you like to come with us?" Benji spoke up. "Even after I killed this little shit?" Leon asked bewildered. Benji, albeit reluctantly, nodded. "The guy wasn't very helpful anyways, although it's going to take some explaining to Logan."

Leon simply twirled a bow in his hands. "If he gets violent, I'll kill him." Leon sauntered outside, and as we were about to join him, Benji pulled us aside. "Is he okay?" Terrance and I looked at each other, and shook our heads. "Yeah, you mentioned that he died, but he thinks he's still alive…" Benji said.

"I think he knows he's dead, just refusing to accept it." Terrance said. "I mean, he did spend a lot of time out there, who knows what he's been through." I spoke up. Benji stepped forward. "Look, I get that he's your friend, and while he did kill Rico who's about as useless as a bottomless cup, I'm worried that he's going to do something." Benji said. "So I need you to be ready to end him if he does something bad."

While it was tough to admit, we nodded.

NOAH'S POV:

"So this is Leon?" I asked as soon as the bearded man I've never seen before came into view. Leon, glancing at me, patted my head rather awkwardly. "Hey Matt, how are you?" Confused, I shook my head. "I'm not Matt, my name's Noah." Leon hesitantly backed away. "Sorry."

Benji gave him a glance, then turned away and began talking with Hiroto and Aiko, likely about Rico's death, as Aiko and Hiroto grinned at this. "Terrance, what's with this Leon guy?" I heard Kaitlyn ask Terrance, and feeling the same way, I joined them.

"Yeah, he's kinda...weird…" I admitted, looking back to see if Leon heard, and saw him simply strolling along at a surprisingly normal pace. "That's Matt's best friend…" Terrance simply replied. "Does he know?" Kaitlyn asked, and Terrance shrugged. "He might, but he could be going through denial or something…"

Eventually an apartment building came into view, and Benji looked at the map. "We're at the herd, so Kaitlyn, Lex, come with me, everyone else stay back." Before going, Benji took out the radio and switched it on. "Elroy, you there?" Benji asked. The crackle from the radio sounded out as Elroy's voice emitted from the other end.

"Yeah, but we got a few problems." Benji, his face showing concern, paused momentarily. "What's wrong?" Benji asked worried. "Eli passed away and killed Logan, and Tyler…"

TYLER'S POV:

As the life faded from the eyes of Logan, the undead doctor seemed to have had enough of him and switched his attention to me. I didn't have time to react as Eli lunged at my arm and attempted to bite on it. I was however to move out of the way, but I fell on my back and felt a shard of wood slash my back.

As the undead Eli smashed his teeth together, I was able to get my hand under Eli's chin, pushing it up, but I failed to realize that Eli was surprisingly powerful, and I felt my grip beginning to slip. Just as Eli's teeth were about to reach my neck, a knife went through Eli's skull, and I tossed him to the side and tried catching my breath.

Beth stood in front of me with the blood-soaked knife and looked at me in fear. "Are you okay?" Beth asked worriedly. I smiled at her. "Yeah, good job Beth." Heath looked and saw Beth and I, and instead of getting angry, he simply nodded and went off. I attempted to get up, but the sharp pain from the wood prevented me from getting up, and I yelped in pain at it.

Elroy, hearing my pained yelp, dashed in, not paying attention to the dead Eli. "Elroy, where were you?" I asked. "I went to get some water for him, I didn't think he'd pass and turn that fast!" Sighing, I decided to forgive him, and I mentioned the shard of wood. "I'll stitch you up, just remove your shirt." I removed my shirt, and I felt the familiar wetness on my side, which confused me. However, one look at Elroy's horrified face caused me to look down, and I gasped.

A large wound in the shape of a bite was on my gut.
