Alexis Castle-Lacance and her sister Annmarie Castle sat in the booth reserved the Castle family at Remeys Diner when Annmarie asked in a quizzical tone, "Alexis, do you regret leaving the force?"

"Taylor Mattew's Security is a better fit for me Annie… The NYPD was a nice fit at first…"

"You joined because of mom… didn't you?" Annmarie asked Alexis in a curt tone.

"Yea… I guess I did, that's not saying I wasn't good…" Alexis said softly.

Annmarie sat sipping her coke when she said, "The only thing you were qualified for was S.W.A.T… but you were to high profile"

"Yea… I guess I was!" Alexis admitted with a light chuckle.

Thinking about how Kate came into her life Alexis said in a silvery tone, "She started out as Kate… then she became mom"

Taking a bite of her burger Alexis said offhandedly "I was trained by a man who owed grandpa a favor!"

Giving her sister sideways glance, Alexis said in a curt tone trying to change the subject, "Don't ask I can't tell you…"

Taking a sip of a milkshake to wash down the burger Alexis stated matter of factly, "What I can tell you he was he lived in dam neck Virginia."

Taking another sip of her milkshake smoothie Alexis said, "The first thing he told me was his name… the next thing he told was to forget who he was."

Annmarie's girlfriend was in Navy Intelligence before she joined the N.Y.P.D Intelligence Division. Annmarie whispered the word "Teams" making a set of hand quotes.

The only conformation Annmarie got was her sister's silent nod and her admiration for Alexis started rising exponentially as she thought, that's some of the hardest training in the world.

"Don't let them drive you out Annie" Alexis said in a sincere tone.

"Me and Gabriela… were planning…"

"To Marry" Alexis said softly, "You're worried about the Reg's"

Alexis looks to the door to see her mentor from Taylor Mattew's Security Clare Dunne walk over to the table.

30 Minutes Later

"I asked Clare to join us because she had to make a similar choice when she came out to her commanding officer at Special Operations." Alexis told her sister.

"Yes!" Clare said in a silvery tone, "And I paid the price"

Looking at Annmarie Castle, Clare stated, "Once I came out I lost most of my security clearances…"

Flagging down the waitress Clare told Annmarie with conviction in her voice, "No one wanted to work with me…" There was just a hint of bitterness to her tenor as she said "these were people I had known for 20 years"

"Great!" Annmarie muttered in frustration.

"Annmarie" Clare said, "Unfortunately the N.Y.P.D like the U.S. Army doesn't like things that are different…"

Reading the expression on Annmarie's face Clare said, "If I could do it over I wouldn't change a thing"

That remark brought a smile to Annmarie's face as Clare said, "If things go as bad as you think they will… keep this"

Clare handed Annmarie her card telling her, "I'll hire you in a heartbeat"

Looking at Alexis, Clare told her, "Anton said he would be in town next week… wanted to know if he could catch up"

Annmarie noticed how her sisters back stiffened at the mention of the name Anton, looking at Alexis asked in a silvery tone, "The man who owed Grandpa a favor?"

"Little sister" Alexis said, "You know I can't tell you that… shame on you for asking!"

No sooner had Alexis finished when a man's gruff raspy voice said, "It would seem I trained my grand-daughter a little too well"

Alexis whipped around as her voice shot up two octaves as she said, "Grandpa Jackson"

Clare turned to where Alexis was looking and asked sharply, "He's your grandfather?"

Looking at Clare, Jackson said in a silvery tone, "Hello to you to Clare… Afghanistan 1994 wasn't it"

"You know we can't talk about that here" Clare chided.

Alexis stated firmly, "My clearance is just as high as yours Clare"

Pointing to her sister Clare asked "Does Annmarie have clearance?"

Pouting Alexis said "No!"

With a light chuckle Clare said, "At least now I understand why Alexis is so good…"

"Annmarie" Alexis said softy, "Don't let them drive you out… fight"
