The Way You Protect Me
Parker didn't need protecting. She was a born fighter, but there were some lines that you just don't cross…and Elliot crossed one.
"That stunt you pulled almost got us caught! Just because you grew up in the system doesn't give you a free pass to do whatever the hell you want."
Now that hurt. It was the one thing she never thought he would use against her. Tears came to her eyes as she backed away from him, and then Sterling was there, throwing Elliot into the wall in a blind rage.
Sterling's voice was a low growl when he said, "Don't you ever say something like that to her again, understand?"
She smiled through her tears…maybe she wasn't alone after all.
