Chapter 9: New Troubles
The months passed by quickly, and it was now the beginning of March; at least four weeks to go before the World Tournament finally began.
Thanks to the Leigh families' gravity chamber, Goku was able to catch up on his training that he missed due to classes. Though on the other hand, his body was still somewhat aching thanks to him turning up the gravity to 350 one time. Thank the heavens that his grandmother had a batch of Senzu beans she had in stock for some time now, expecting a situation where he would overdo it during his training.
Though he was going to one up Vegeta thanks to him charging him during the first time. Strangely enough, he stopped during the second time. Goku believed that Bloom must've had something to do with it, the girl never did approve of Vegeta doing such things.
The young fighter also noted the events that happened during the last few months.
During December, Saki Tenjouin had thrown together a Christmas party with him and most of the other students of the school being invited. During the party, she created a game where the presents that everyone had brought would be scattered about throughout the house, and the first one to find them would be able to keep them.
When all was said and done, Lala had a bag full of presents that she found. She eventually decided that she would give some to the other students who wanted them. Goku himself received a pair of mittens for winter from Haruna. He had hoped that the girl herself managed to receive the present that he brought for her, which was merely a mug with a bear imprint on it.
During the New Year, Lala had pre-ordered some fireworks from Deviluke itself. Compared to what Earth's fireworks could do, Devilukean fireworks were far more spectacular. Though at one point the neighborhood caught fire due to one straying off when it was launched. Thankfully, Goku was able to blow the fire away before it became even worse thanks to the trick he learned from Lala when she went up against that storm just before summer.
Goku also noticed that at one point during their celebrations that Yami had joined them, the girl shooting glances at him every once in a while and turning away when he looked back at her.
Then during Valentine's Day, that was the most hectic one of them all, Lala had misinterpreted the idea that on that day, you would give chocolates to the person you liked into giving everyone she liked chocolates. Though in hindsight, given the girl's personality, it was only natural of her to do so.
However, thanks to a small prank by the school nurse Mikado, Lala had added an alien aphrodisiac into her home-made chocolates. That turned the entire school into a love-crazed hell with people falling in love whomever they see first.
Haruna had befallen the same fate, and the first person she saw was none other than Goku himself. She gave him her chocolates and began offering herself to him, the latter of which Goku had to knock her out for with a quick chop to the neck. Though inside he was beaming that he received chocolate from Haruna, especially so after she snapped out of it and allowed him to keep it.
All in all, it was a very hectic time before the tournament. Goku didn't even know how he was able to get any training done.
"Hurry up Goku or we'll be late~!"
"This is all your fault! I told you shouldn't have used that crazy contraption of yours!"
Both Goku and Lala ran as they barely made it pass the school gates as it began closing.
Unknown to them, a girl was watching them as they did so. Specifically, her eyes were directed right towards Goku himself.
"Today... today is definitely going to be the day!"
"What's wrong Goku?"
"Nothing, I just felt a weird chill go up my spine."
Both Goku and Saruyama, as well as the other boys were getting ready for the usual soccer game that they had during P.E.
'What's this feeling...?'
He didn't feel any ill intent anywhere near the school, so it probably was not one of Lala's suitors. Most of the boys were jealous of him being close to Lala, but they knew they didn't stand a chance against Goku, putting them all off the suspect list.
Could it be Yami? No, they already made a deal that they would settle their differences in the ring. Also, he was in school. From what he saw during their first fight, Yami had avoided putting innocents in harms way when she attacked him in the streets, one of the reasons why he didn't really see her as a threat.
"Come on already man!"
"Huh? Ah, wait up!"
As they walked, the same girl from before stood behind a corner keeping an eye on Goku.
The girl was rather beautiful, her hair light green and her eyes red. It was quite obvious that she was not anywhere near the area due to her appearance.
'Now's my chance!'
"Why hello there! Have you got a problem? How about I help you solve it?"
"That's Motemitsu-senpai for you! Even when his hair hasn't grown back yet, he's still a total flirt!"
Motemitsu was back in action after being suspended from school for so long together with his posse.
"Eh?" The girl muttered to look back who had spoken to her.
Motemitsu felt his eyes widen in shock and delight. He had never before seen a girl as cute as the one before him other than Lala herself!
'A girl this cute went to our school!? Impossible!' He pulled out a notebook filled to the brim with data gathered on every girl within the school. 'No records!? She must be a new student like Lala-chan!'
"Hey you! Do you want to-!"
The girl had already disappeared without a trace, leaving Motemitsu in shock and depression.
"That's Motemitsu-senpai for you! Rejected without even a word!"
"Geez! Thanks to that idiot I've lost track of Goku-kun!"
The girl ran through the corridors looking for the young man.
Although he didn't know about her, she knew a great deal about him for she had been observing him for the past few week since her transfer in. No, before that, she had already been doing so before enrolling to the school.
She knew about how much a good person he was, as much as a good person a hot-blooded martial artist could be that is.
That, along with a certain event, was what allowed the young woman to develop feelings for him despite having never really spoken to him before. Was it love at first sight then that allowed for such a thing?
Before she could answer her own question, her thoughts quickly turned to joy as she found Goku standing outside on the field.
'Now that I think about it, I haven't seen Ren all day...'
Goku thought this as he kicked the ball into the net, scoring a goal. The boy took a break for a while as Goku stood by himself near the school building.
As he sat down on a bench, his mind then began thinking about the Tenkaichi Budokai as earlier that day, he read an article regarding the tournament.
In the past since its beginning, the tournament had always forbidden weaponry and protective gear during fights. However, after an argument from several students of the Kikoukenjutsu School led by Tadashi Kaito alongside the headmaster of said school, the tournament now created a special division known as "Ultimate Fighting" which would allow weapons and the like to be used during the fighting.
Goku remembered having fought against Kaito during the Junior Division all those years ago. He remembered him as being quite skilled even without a sword, but being in a tournament of pure hand-to-hand combat, he was eventually defeated by Goku due to the disadvantage. He wondered how strong Kaito would be if he had his sword that time. Perhaps it would've been an even match up?
Perhaps not. Given that he had already achieved Super Saiyan by that point, Kaito would have been an easy opponent had he chosen to transform at that point. However, he still did enjoy their bout.
Aside from him and the Kikoukenjutsu School, Goku had also began hearing rumors about the possibility of members of the Majin Clan coming to participate.
His grandmother once told him that the founder of the clan was her Grandfather Hercule's best friend in the entire world, and that even now, the Majin still held Mr. Satan in high recognition in respect for his friendship with Buu.
Personally, he still hasn't had the chance to meet with a Majin face-to-face before, mostly because the Majin were all lived around the area near the Sacred Lands of Korin, and lately some have begun living in both Capsule City and Satan City according to the local news network. Goku also heard from his grandmother that despite their appearances, the Majin were deadly fighters if motivated in the right way.
The Saiyan blood in his veins boiled with excitement over the aspect of meeting new fighters, he could probably guess that Vegeta was feeling the same as well as Bloom, and his two cousins too.
"Hah!" He stretched his arm forward while making a fist. The tournament was going to be really fun this year!
"Kyah!"
"Huh? Oh, no!"
Goku cursed himself for his own carelessness as someone had been sent flying thanks to him. He must've created a shockwave when he outstretched his arm so suddenly like that. Damn his amazing strength!
When he looked to see who it was, it was a girl, probably from the same year as him judging from the color of the tie her summer uniform had. She had shoulder length light green hair.
The girl was unconscious thanks to him, and because of that, Goku felt that it was his responsibility to take her to the clinic.
As the girl remained asleep on the bed, Goku sat beside her with a concerned expression on his face.
'I'm a real idiot! I should've watched what I was doing.'
He looked at the girl's sleeping expression, finding her to be quite the cutie.
'I don't think I've ever seen her around here before. Another transfer student? When did she arrive?'
He noted that the only transfer students that this school had recently were both Lala and Ren. If someone as cute as this girl had transferred in, the boys of Sainan would've been all over her asking her out on dates or to be their girlfriend the moment she did.
"Ugh..."
He broke out of his thoughts as he saw the girl getting up from bed.
"Oh, you're awake!" Goku said with a smile and the girl, realizing who he was, sat up in surprise. "Mikado-sensei said that you only suffered a minor concussion. You should feel better soon after some rest."
He put both hands together and bowed.
"I'm really, really, sorry! It was because I was really careless with my strength that got you into this mess. I'll-Hmm?"
He noticed the girl had been looking at him with an odd expression on her face.
"Um... is everything alright?"
"Goku~!"
"Wha-!? What the...!?"
The young man froze when he realized that the girl got up and hugged him by the neck. He could even feel breasts pressing down upon him as she did so.
'No, no, no! Anymore of this and Grandma will castrate me if she finds out!'
"W-Wait a minute!" Goku quickly released himself from the girl's grasp out of embarrassment. "What's going on? Don't hug me so suddenly...!"
"I'm so happy~! The two of us are finally alone!"
"H-Hah?" The young man mouthed in confusion of the situation.
"I've been meaning to tell you this for a while now, but I never had the chance."
"Tell me what...?"
The girl remained silent for a moment, a moment that caused Goku to feel a sense of dread for a reason he did not understand.
He also noted when he looked into her red eyes, a sense of familiarity came over him. Goku would've remembered if he had encountered someone as cute as this girl before, her green hair and red eyes being the most noteworthy aspects of her appearance.
The girl then opened her mouth, giving him his answer.
"I love you! Please go out with me!"
...
'A-A confession...!'
This was not actually the first time Goku would receive a confession from a girl. Being something of a notable figure in the school, he would sometimes receive a confession from a girl every once in a while ever since middle school.
However, he would always politely turn down the girls because of his already existing crush on Haruna. This did not stop them from doing so, but lately, the number of confessions had died down. Goku always thought it had something to do with the fact that he always turned them down, that because of it, the girls might have started to think he was simply not interested or may already have someone he likes.
'W-What should I do...? She says she's waited a long time for this... it'd be rude to just turn her down on the spot.' Goku began thinking while avoiding the girl's gaze.
'Should I lie and say I need some time to think about it? No, no, no... lying to her would make me a bad guy. I already like Lala-Wait, no, I mean Haruna.' He shook his head at the last thought. Why would he even think that?
"I get it, you already have someone else you like, don't you?" The girl's voice snapped him out of his thoughts as he looked at her. "But I..."
"B-But..." Goku had a feeling he was not going to like this, even more so when the girl brought her fingers to her lips.
"But I can never forget the kiss we shared that time..."
*BAM*
Goku face faulted to the ground before quickly standing back up much to the girl's surprise.
"K-Kiss...!? W-W-W-When did this happen...!?"
"You don't remember?" The girl smiled at that. She stood up while walking closer towards him and leaned on his chest while smiling seductively.
"Shall we reenact it then~?"
Before he could react properly to that, the girl moved in and quickly began closing the distance between them.
"Goku~!"
Lala came into the clinic like the moment killer that she was and saw the two inside the room.
"I heard from Saruyama that you'd be here. I-Huh?"
"Lala!? T-This isn't...!" Goku quickly began as he looked at her.
"Run-chan! Is that you?" The girl exclaimed in surprise as she pointed a finger at the green-haired girl holding Goku by the shoulders.
"Wait... what?" Did Lala knew who this girl was?"
Unknown to Goku, when he turned his head to look at the pinkette, the girl known as Run had caught a whiff of his spiky hair on her nose and began twitching.
"Ah... A-Achoo!"
*POOF*
"What the...!? Smoke!?" Goku coughed.
When the smoke began clearing, he looked forward to see someone he did not expect to see.
"Gah!"
"R-Ren...!? Why the heck are you...!?"
It was none other than Ren Elise Jewelria, and he was currently wearing the female winter uniform. When he saw that, Goku put two and two together realized what had just occurred.
*BAM*
"Ow! What was that for!?" Ren cried out in pain as he was hit on the head by Goku.
"Sneaky pervert! I thought you were after Lala, and now I see that you swing both ways! Trying to seduce me with your transformation trick!? Better luck next time you little freak!" The young fighter yelled as he grabbed the boy by the collar. What he did just now was so not cool!
"W-What!? No! It's not what you think!" The boy held up his hands in defense.
"I think I can explain what's happening."
Both looked towards to the door to see Ryoko Mikado standing beside Lala.
"Wait, his species has the ability to change gender...?"
Goku looked at Ren, who had been covering himself in shame due to wearing a girl's outfit, as Mikado explained the situation to the trio. He had also learned that Ren was also royalty, from a planet known as Memorze, much like Lala. It made sense considering Lala herself was a princess and would probably meet children from other royalties when she was growing up.
"How does that even work...? Scratch that, how do you even have that ability...?"
"Let me finish first Son-kun." Mikado spoke out. "The Memorzorians evolved in a very harsh environment due to the fact that 80% of their planet is dry land and most of it is a desert, and because there are two suns, there is no night time. So you can imagine the type of world that it is. The ability to change gender was one of the things evolution had gifted their species in order to survive. With two personalities, both can come up with ways to survive on a planet such as Memorze."
"I see, I think I can understand that." Goku nodded as he looked back towards Ren. "Still, changing because of a sneeze?"
"Don't blame me! It's only after I came to Earth that something like this happens!" The boy cried out.
"True. Normally, your species would remain one gender for a period of six months on your planet before changing. The environment here on Earth must be so different, that it has changed the constitution of your body somewhat." Mikado commented.
"Yeah, and because of that, Run's been ignoring my feelings a lot lately. She even made me wear this!" Ren began crying tears of embarrassment.
"So this is why you always make a rant about being a man." Goku appeared beside Ren with arms crossed and eyes closed.
He then placed one hand on Ren's shoulder and said.
"You have my sympathies."
"Don't mock me!" Ren swatted Goku's hand away. "I won't forgive you Son Goku! Not only did you steal Lala-chan's heart from me, but you've also done the same to my alter ego as well!"
"That was your fault and you know it!" Goku retorted. "You're the one who came on running like an idiot at full speed!"
"What was that!?"
"Ren-chan~!" Ren froze when he heard Lala's voice calling out to him. Normally, he'd be ecstatic. But right now, he was not.
"So you can change into a girl with just a sneeze? Bring Run-chan out! I haven't seen her in a while~!" Lala said as she brought out some pepper from her pockets. Why she had that in there was another mystery altogether.
"No! I only just changed back too!"
Ren ran out of the clinic with Lala chasing after him, Goku looked on from the entrance as the two ran at an incredible speed.
His mind went back to the green-haired female alter ego of the boy, a light blush on his face forming as he did so.
'So... that was Run huh?' He scratched his cheek, not knowing how to react regarding this new discovery.
'I guess she wasn't so bad... she was kinda cute.'
Two days later...
"You're going to have a sleepover at Haruna's?" Goku asked as he tended to Celine, the giant flower reacting with joy as her caretaker watered her.
"Yeah! Do you wanna come along Goku~?" Lala asked.
He was slightly troubled by it because he was worried because of Lala's weird inventions and the girl might try showing some off to Haruna. He then shook his head, knowing that Lala can be reliable when given the chance.
"Nah, it would be just you two right? It'd be weird if a guy came along."
"Huh? Why is that?"
Lala tilted her head as she looked at him, Goku only shook his head while smiling mirthfully.
"Well, just make sure that you don't cause any trouble for her alright?" He said. "Unlike me, Haruna is a normal human. So don't use any weird inventions that, you know, will go out of control like last time."
"Hey! Not all of my inventions go out of control!" The pinkette replied, somewhat annoyed by Goku's insinuations.
"Really? Because last time I checked, your octopus thing exploded. After that, the hologram thing exploded. Then there was that one time during the summer when you made me wear a pair of shoes that you designed and I ended up running half-way across the world. Not to mention those pills you fed those penguins."
Lala, flinched slightly at that. Alright, it was true that her Go-Go Vacuum-Kun went haywire and Goku had to destroy it, but that was one time! Her inventions after that only exploded due to outside circumstances rather than malfunctioning. And the shoes were only prototypes, so of course they'd have glitches. The soldier pills were something else entirely since she didn't think about what would happen if something other than a Devilukean would swallow it.
Seeing the somewhat distressed look on Lala's face, Goku broke into laughter.
"Hahaha! Sorry, sorry, I was just messing with you." Goku laughed while placing a hand at the back of his head, causing the girl to pout at him cutely.
"That was mean Goku. I'm telling Grandma Pan about you!" She turned her head away in a huff.
"Hehe, sorry, I didn't really mean it." The young man replied while smiling at her and looked at her with a somewhat serious face. "But can you at least promise me that you won't do anything... well, alien in front of Haruna?"
Lala paused for a moment to think over his words, before returning the smile and spoke.
"Okay~!"
That night...
"Eh!? Risa actually did that...!?"
"I know right?"
Inside the apartment where Haruna lived together with her sister, she and Lala were now sharing stories about their friends.
"Oh? It's rare for Haruna to bring home friends."
The two looked to see Sairenji Akiho, Haruna's older sister and owner of the apartment, coming into the room.
"Onee-chan." Haruna spoke out.
"Hmm... Pink hair." Akiho muttered briefly before smiling. "That means you must be Lala-chan right? I've heard a lot about you from Haruna. She doesn't have a lot of friends, so please be good to her alright?"
"Wha-!? Onee-chan!"
"Don't worry Haruna's Onee-chan! Haruna's one of my important friends, so we're good to each other." Lala replied with a smile on her face.
"You are? That's nice isn't it Haruna?"
Haruna merely pouted at her sister's words.
"Don't treat me like I'm a little kid..."
"Ahahaha! Don't blush Haruna~" The girl's sister laughed.
"I'm not blushing." She huffed in response while still maintaining her pout.
Lala smiled at the scene of the two sisters, it reminded her somewhat of how Goku and Mikan would sometimes treat each other.
Inside Haruna's room the two girls sat across from each other with Haruna sitting on the bed while Lala sat on the floor and played somewhat with Marron, the blue-haired girl's pet dog.
"So it's only you two that live here?"
"That's right. My sister originally rented this place for herself, but since the school is so close to here, she lets me room with her." Haruna replied before a tired expression came onto her face. "But at the same time, she likes to boss me around a lot as a price for letting me live here with her, so its not always perfect."
Lala looked around the inside of Haruna's room, noticing that it was quite tidy and spotless. What one might expect from a diligent student such as her.
One object inside the room caught her interest, and that caused the girl to stand up and go over to pick it up.
"Huh? Wait, is this...?"
"Ah! That's...!"
It was a picture frame that contained the photo of Haruna along with a group of other students lined up looking at the camera together. She noted that the blue-haired girl was somewhat younger looking compared to the present and was wearing a different uniform to the ones that Sainan High issued.
Lala also noted that a certain spiky-haired boy was in the picture as well, though for some reason, he was...
"Eh!? Is that Goku!? He's so much smaller here!"
In the picture, almost everyone was a head taller than the boy at the time.
"That's the class photo we took during Middle School."
"So you two were classmates then?" Lala asked as the girl nodded. She then turned her attention back at the picture before giggling slightly. "But middle school was only a few years ago right? Goku grew a lot during those years!"
"Ehehehe~" Haruna giggled in response. "I know right? He remained the same height until a year ago. Imagine everyone's surprise when he suddenly became giant!"
At that, the two girls began laughing at the expense of the boy who was not even present.
"Achoo!"
"What is it?" Mikan asked as she and her brother watched Television together as they always did during the night when suddenly the boy began sneezing.
"I don't know, but I think someone's making fun of me."
"Hey Haruna..."
"What is it?"
Both Lala and Haruna were now taking a bath together at the former's insistence, the former inside the bathtub while the latter washed herself with soap.
"Do you know the reason why Goku likes to fight so much?"
Surprised by the pinkette's question, the girl spoke.
"Eh? What makes you ask that?"
"I don't know..." Lala let herself relax into the bathtub water. "At first I thought that it was because he was like my Papa."
"Your father?" Haruna muttered as Lala nodded in response before continuing.
"That's right. Although Papa is lazy and likes to play around, he likes to fight strong people." She said. "And while he doesn't chase after people, he doesn't mind if people came to our home all of a sudden with a declaring that they would kill him. He's more amused by it than anything else."
Haruna felt herself go somewhat speechless at this, being unable to find the right words to respond to Lala's last statement regarding her father.
'Just what kind of person is he?'
"At first I thought that Goku was just like Papa in that way, but it's not." Lala said. "Papa fights because he wants to win, but I think Goku fights because he wants to enjoy himself. What do you think?"
Haruna looked up for a moment as she began thinking before coming up with a response to the girl's question.
"Yeah, I think that's close." The blue-haired girl began. "But I also think that you're missing out on something."
"What is it then?"
Taking a moment to breathe, Haruna began her explanation.
"I remember asking the same question to Goku when we were still classmates in middle school. Do you know what he said?"
Lala shook her head and the girl continued.
"He told me that it was because he found it exciting. Because whenever he faced off against someone, especially someone new, a challenge would be presented to him. It's because of those challenges that he can get stronger, and each time he does that a new harder challenge would appear."
"I don't really get it..." The pinkette admitted, somewhat embarrassed at herself.
Haruna merely smiled in response and continued. "I think the reason he likes to fight is because he likes to test himself. I don't understand martial artists, but I think I can understand the want to be able to do more than what you're already capable of. That's why some athletes like to push themselves during training, to see how far their bodies can take them."
"I see..." Lala nodded, beginning to understand the concept behind Goku's desire to fight.
Was that also one of the reasons why her father like to fight against strong opponents and not just to win?
"Haruna," The pinkette began as the girl looked in her direction. "You know Goku pretty well, don't you?"
"E-Eh!?" She began blushing slightly. "W-Well I suppose that's true, but..."
"Say!" Haruna looked at the girl in surprise as the pinkette began smiling all of a sudden and stood up from the water to look at her fully.
"Do you think we can talk about Goku more? Other than what Mikan-chan and Pan-san told me and the things I've asked him, I want to hear more about Goku from other people too!"
Haruna merely blinked at her request, somewhat surprised by it before smiling.
"Sure! Why not?"
"Hmm? What is it? Why are you smiling at me for?"
"Hehe~! It's nothing."
Ever since her return to their house that following morning, Lala had been smiling quite a bit in Goku's direction whenever he saw her do so. He was little disturbed by it as she hadn't taken her gaze off him for a while now. The two being inside the living room as Goku watched TV with Mikan before being joined by Lala.
'What did they talk about last night...?'
*RING*
The sound of someone at the front door interrupted Goku's thoughts. Before he could do anything else, Mikan volunteered to get it.
She got up from her place on the sofa, and quickly went towards the door.
"Ah! Beat and Note-chan!"
Hearing his sister cry out in surprise, Goku quickly stood up when heard the names of two people he did not expect to visit today.
*BAM*
*SMACK*
"W-Wha-!?"
Lala stood agape as out of nowhere two people directed a punch and kick simultaneously at the young man as he blocked both with ease.
When she got a good look of who the attackers were, she saw that they were a boy and a girl. The two of them wore similar outfits to what Goku would wear when he trained together with Pan, although the coloration was a deep red.
"You two do realize that's rude to come in while still wearing your shoes right?"
"Well it's not like we're touching the floor with them are we?" The female of the duo responded. She had black hair that was tied into a ponytail with a red ribbon and a whiter skin complexion compared to her partner's tan.
"Just admit it Goku-nii, if we hadn't rung the doorbell we would've taken you by surprise!"
"True, but..."
*SWIPE*
The girl's hair became undone as her red ribbon was taken from her and the boy's pants fell to the ground much to his embarrassment.
"You two are still too slow to take me on." Goku smiled cheekily at the two as he held the ribbon and a sash in his hands. Around the same time Mikan entered the room.
"So fast!" The girl commented, as always Goku had impressive speed!
"Not cool, Goku-nii! You don't just pants a guy when there are girls around!" The boy exclaimed as he pulled up his pants.
"Sorry, sorry, but you started this in the first place." He handed both their respective items back.
As the duo began putting them back in place, the other person in the room spoke out.
"Uh, Goku..." The trio looked at Lala.
"Oh, right!" Goku said as he gestured to the duo. "These two are my twin cousins. The boy is Beat, and the girl is Note. Don't mix up their names, they hate that."
"Nice to meet you!" Both bowed in respect.
"Eh? A-Ah! Nice to meet you two as well, my name is Lala." The pinkette responded quickly, her mind still catching up to the sudden turn of events. She hadn't expected that two of Goku's cousins were coming, and it looks like neither did the two siblings knew themselves.
"What's going on here?"
Pan entered the living room having heard the ruckus before smiling as she recognized guests inside.
"Why if it isn't Beat and Note! How are the two of you?"
"Great-Aunt Pan!"
The twins quickly ran towards the elderly woman and gave her simultaneous hugs.
"It's been to long Great-Aunt Pan! We've missed you!" Note said with a smile on her face.
"And I've missed the both of you as well." Pan replied as she gently stroked her grandniece's head. "You've grown up this past year haven't you? These days you're resembling my Grandma Chi-Chi when she was younger, and she was quite the looker too!"
"Ehehe~!" Note smiled in response at her great-aunt's compliment.
"Don't let it go to her head, it's big enough as it is!" Beat joked before being put in a choke hold by his twin.
"What was that!? I think someone needs to remember who's the elder sibling around here!"
"Only by a few minutes!"
"Alright, alright, that's enough. Look, he's turning blue already." Goku got in between and separated the two.
"By the way Goku-nii," Note began. She, along with Beat, Goku, Mikan, and Lala sat inside the living room while Pan decided to whip something up for lunch.
"What is it?"
"What's with that giant flower outside?" She asked as she pointed her thumb towards Celine who had been visible through the sliding doors. "Is it alien? Or did Bloom accidentally mutate one with that growth elixir of hers again?"
"Ahahaha... No." Goku remember that day. Giant flowers sprouted out of nowhere one day at the Capsule Corp building and later the people found out that it was Bloom who was the cause of it due to an experiment going wrong.
Now that he thought about it, she and Lala would definitely get along when they finally meet.
"Her name is Celine, and she was a gift that Lala over here gave me during my birthday." He gestured to the pinkette as he said that. "Don't let her looks fool you, she's a complete sweetheart."
"I was kinda worried about that. Last time I was near a giant flower it nearly ate me." Beat muttered while shivering from said memory.
"That's because they don't like you." Note teased.
The others merely laughed at that while Beat stuck his tongue out at his sister. Lala most especially found this scene to be rather nostalgic, having remembered her own twin siblings back on Deviluke.
"Speaking of aliens..." Note said as she turned her gaze towards Lala. "Is it true that you're an alien princess? We've been hearing all about you from Mikan."
"That's right! I am a princess, though I don't really like being treated as one." Lala replied, mumbling the last part to herself. Being princess had its benefits, but at the same time quite troublesome even for someone like her. Life on Earth was far more enjoyable to the one she spent back at Deviluke.
"That's so cool!" Beat suddenly exclaimed as he looked at Goku. "Goku-nii, you're engaged to her? Wouldn't that make you the King of the Galaxy when the two of you marry? That would be so awesome don't you think!?"
"Uh... yeah. Sure, whatever you say." The young man had been hoping that the subject wouldn't have been brought up but now he was reminded that he was still technically engaged to Lala thanks to the events of nearly a year ago.
'How am I suppose to break it...? Lala's dad would probably try to kill me if I do, and who knows how strong the King of the Galaxy could be.' As much as he liked a good fight, he wasn't suicidal.
"Say, Goku-nii..."
Goku snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Beat calling out to him.
"What is it?"
"You're planning on entering the World Tournament right? Please tell me you are."
"I am. And the two of you...?" Goku asked but already knew what they were going to say anyway.
"Of course we are!" Both answered simultaneously. "And this year one of us is finally going to defeat you!"
"Wow, that's some confidence you two have there. Mind if I ask why that is?"
Beat crossed his arms at that, looking rather smug.
"Hehehe! Because this year we've finally mastered it! Our ultimate secret technique!"
"Let me guess; it involves both of your hairs turning blonde." Beat flinched at the quick reply, to which Goku merely smirked.
*BAM*
"Way to spoil the surprise genius!" Note smacked her brother upside the head who held it in pain.
"You can't hide it from me. I can't tell the moment I felt your energy." Goku smiled at them.
"Wait, what are you three talking about?" Lala inquired as they all looked at her. What was this thing about turning blonde and it being an ultimate technique?
"You'll see soon enough at the Tournament. That's where all the magic happens!" Goku replied.
"Alright, it's time to eat you lot!"
At the sound of Pan's voice, the group headed for the table to begin their meal time.
The next day...
Both Goku and Lala were inside the library returning a few books that Goku's father, Son Saiba, had asked the former to borrow for him.
"I hope those two visit again, they were a lot fun to have around."
"If by fun, you mean Note choking the life out of Beat every few minutes, then I agree with you."
Yesterday was quite a lively event. Beat and Note deciding to visit them was quite a welcome treat unexpected as it was. With their family having lived at Satan City, the two Son family's rarely saw each other than special occasions.
"By the way Goku, Haruna's birthday party is tomorrow. Are you coming with us to celebrate?"
"Of course. What kind of friend would I be if I didn't?"
The boy's quick reply caused a smile to form on Lala's face. Truly, Goku was someone whom a person could truly call a friend.
"Wait, is that...?"
When the boy suddenly stopped, the girl looked to see what it was that caught his attention.
"Yami-chan!"
The blonde-haired assassin was on floor with books scattered around her and on her head.
"Princess. Son Goku." She said, acknowledging their presence.
"Uh, what happened?" Goku asked as pointed towards the scattered books.
"Nothing." The blonde replied as she stood up. "It's none of your..."
As soon as she was up on her feet, the girl quickly started to fall once more when Goku quickly caught her before she did.
"H-Hey...!" He began before noticing something off. He then placed a hand over her forehead and felt an incredibly hot sensation.
"Ack! So hot!" Goku quickly separated his hand and blew on it. Her body temperature was extremely high!
"Yami-chan you've got a fever don't you?" Lala asked worriedly as she got closer.
"It's nothing Princess, please do not worry about..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she was taken by surprise when Goku had suddenly picked her up piggyback style.
"W-What are you...!?"
"Bringing you to someone who can help." Goku stated. "Tough girl you may be, but a fever is a fever, and the way you're burning up isn't normal. Alien or not."
"Wait, this is her house?"
Goku, Lala, and Yami arrived at Mikado Ryoko's house, with the latter of the trio having passed out already due to her fever. They initially headed to the school clinic but when they arrived she hadn't been there. When they asked around, someone from the school staff informed them that Mikado hadn't even arrived at school yet. This was their second option.
"Looks like a haunted house doesn't it?" Lala commented.
The complex was somewhat larger than most houses in the area, and the building itself looked like it was built for the high-class types of people, having a somewhat vampiric feel to it that added to its haunted house image.
"Yeah, and to think she's an alien too..." Perhaps the appearance of the house would drive away unwanted attention from the neighborhood? Certainly a useful trait for aliens who wished to live in secret on a planet such as Earth.
They passed through the front gate and soon enough knocked on the door. When it opened, Goku nearly fell on his face when he remembered that he had Yami on his back.
"Oh? It's you two. Is something the matter...?" Mikado Ryoko asked while yawning. Her current state of dress being black lingerie and her white coat.
"Cover yourself up when you're answering the door!" Goku exclaimed while a heavy blush formed on his face.
Mikado lazily nodded before noticing the person Goku had on his back. "Hmm? ...! That girl is...!"
Slowly opening her eyes, the assassin known as Golden Darkness to her enemies and Yami to a certain few came to. When she looked around, she found herself naked and inside a rejuvenation chamber.
"It's been a while, hasn't it Golden Darkness? Or should I be calling you Yami now?"
A voice spoke out and Yami looked to see a familiar red-haired woman she had once met before.
"Doctor Mikado." The woman in question nodded at her words.
"It seem as though that the reason you've fallen ill is because the nanomachines inside your body have been under a considerable amount stress as of late." Mikado added as she looked up from her computer screen that showed Yami's health data to the girl in question.
"You've been overusing your powers as of late, haven't you?" She asked. "What are you up to?"
Seeing that the Yami wasn't responding, Mikado merely sighed.
"Since you're not probably going to be answering my questions anytime soon, I might as well remind you that your body and power to transform are synced to each other. If you overuse it, you start to break down."
"I understand." Yami nodded.
With that, Mikado turned away before stopping in her tracks and looking back towards the blonde.
"Oh, I almost forgot. Son-kun had a message for you in case you got better early and left before they came back to check on you."
"Son Goku...?" Yami questioned.
"He told me to tell you to get better soon, because he's looking forward to having a match with you in the upcoming tournament." Mikado replied.
'That must be the reason why her nanomachines were so stressed out. She must've been training for the tournament.' The woman thought to herself.
"That's right... He was the one who brought me here, wasn't he?" She saw Mikado nod and a frown appeared on the blonde's face. "Why would he do such a thing? I am his enemy after all..."
A moment later the girl's healing process finished and Yami stepped out of the chamber.
"He doesn't seem to think so, does he?" Mikado began as she helped Yami dry herself. "In fact, he seems like the type of person who likes to get along with everyone."
"Yet he also desires to have strong opponents. What does that make him?" The blonde asked as she began dressing herself.
"A mutant?" The redhead joked. "Desiring to have strong opponents and being a good person at the same time isn't that rare."
'Son Goku...' Yami thought for the briefest moment. Even now she wasn't sure what to make of the boy.
"Yami-chan! We're here to visit~!"
"Hey! Stop pulling me like that!"
When the door opened suddenly, Yami froze as she looked to see both Goku and Lala entering the room. The former of the two becoming stiff with silence as he noticed, that at the moment, Yami was still in the middle of changing into her clothes. Right now she was only wearing her underwear and was about to put on her black dress when the two came in.
...
"Well... this is awkward."
"Please die."
*SLASH*
"Hey! Don't do that in my house!"
It was a very hectic afternoon that day as Goku flew away with Yami chasing after him with the intent to kill.
A few days later on March 6...
"Happy Birthday!"
Inside Haruna's apartment; the girl, Goku, Lala, Risa, Mio, and Saruyama, were celebrating the blue-haired girl's birthday.
"Thank you everyone!" Haruna said with a smile.
As the group began eating the cake they had prepared for the occasion, Goku sat together with Saruyama as they watched the scene together.
"Bet you're pretty happy getting to be inside Sairenji's apartment aren't you?" The latter teased.
"What's with that face? I'll hit you." Goku frowned at him in annoyance.
"C'mon, it's just a joke." Saruyama laughed.
Goku shrugged off the boys word's as his eyes went back to Haruna, the girl was currently conversing happily with Lala.
'Well, at least she's enjoying herself. Couldn't ask for more.' He noted that the she and Lala had definitely become close during the past year that the alien princess had stayed on Earth.
"Alright you lot, I have a special game lined up for you all!" Saruyama suddenly exclaimed and pulled out something from his bag.
"Wait, is that...?"
"It's time for a game of twister!" Saruyama declared as he cleared a space and laid out the game mat on the floor.
"Twister?" Lala inquired.
"Allow me to explain." Mio began. "Twister is a game of where at two people play. A roulette is spun that indicates the color that person must touch with one of his or her hands or feet, and that's what the mat is for."
"Oh! I think I get it!"
'Yes! If it's a game like this, then there's a high chance of me getting tangled up with one of the girls! Lala-chan being my obvious choice!' He thought rather maniacally.
"You... you're a complete idiot aren't you?" Goku muttered, having realized his friend's plan the moment a perverted smile appeared on his face.
"Goku, Haruna, let's play~!" Lala said as she pulled both by the arm with her.
And just like that, Saruyama failed from the get-go, the boy falling to his knees with an aura of depression hanging over him. He had failed to realize that Lala would most likely prefer to play with Goku and Haruna seeing as both were her closest friends in school.
"Wait, how the heck did we end up like this!?"
A few moments later Goku found himself sandwiched between both Lala and Haruna as they struggled to hold still. The game had gone on for half-an-hour now, and the boy was sweating profusely from feeling Lala's breasts behind his head and his right hand being on a spot between her legs. On the other side, one of his legs was entangled with Haruna's as well as one of his arms being with hers.
He was thankful to his training that his body didn't give out on him, but the situation on hand was quite troublesome even for him.
Haruna herself was blushing at the close contact with Goku, and she began thinking to herself that maybe she should play the game again with just the two of them.
'No, no, no! That's a little too...' Her thoughts drifted as the blush on her face deepened. She was thankful that Goku couldn't see her face right now.
"Oh? Aren't you in a lucky position Son-kun~?" Risa directed a teasing smile at him. "Don't tell that you 're not in the least bit enjoying this? Being surrounded by two beautiful girls is a dream for most boys don't you know~?"
"Shut up! You did this on purpose didn't you!? Just spin the roulette already!" Goku retorted.
"Say please~"
"Please!" Pride be damned, he was in a bad situation right now!
"Oh alright," Risa laughed. "Next is right hand red!"
'Great, the closest one is even further between Lala's legs!' He mentally groaned, having a bad feeling. 'Might as well suck it up!'
He stretched his hand out and quickly placed his hand on the-
"Kyaah!" Lala cried out as a deep blush on her face appeared. "D-Don't grab me there...!"
'What the...?' Goku began feeling around what he had grabbed. 'This is Lala's tail!'
"A-Ah~! D-Don't rub it...!"
The trio tumbled down in a heap as Lala suddenly came down on Goku.
When they sat up, Lala directed an angry pout at the spiky-haired boy.
"Geez! You're a jerk Goku!"
"W-What? All I did was touch your tail!" Goku defended himself.
"My tail happens to be very sensitive! That's why you shouldn't go around grabbing it!" She huffed.
"Ah, I see. Wait, I think grandma mentioned something about that to me about the Saiyans before..."
"H-Huh? Wait a minute Lala-chi, you mean tell us that your tail wasn't just an accessory...?"
"Ah...!" Both froze in shock as they remembered the others in the room.
'Shit, this is bad! I've forgot about Lala being an alien was a secret!'
"No wonder that thing kept moving around, that has to be it." Mio commented as the others nodded in agreement as Goku fell to the floor.
"That's so cool! Being friends with an alien that is!" Haruna added.
'Whoa, even Haruna...!? You'd think there'd be more shock about a secret like this, so what's with this casual acceptance!?'
"Wait, you guys aren't the least bit surprised?"
"No, we totally understand." Risa replied.
"Yeah. Explains a lot about those weird inventions she brings to school." Saruyama added.
Goku sighed in relief, he expected something worse but clearly he was mistaken.
"Well, since we're on the subject of aliens..." Lala began as she held Goku by the arm.
"Wait, Lala, what are you...?"
"Goku's an alien too!" Lala declared as Goku gaped at her audacity.
"WHAAAAT!?" The others cried out in shock as Goku gave them an incredulous look. What was with this difference in treatment?
"G-Goku! You're an alien too...?" Saruyama asked.
"Uh... yeah." He nodded slowly before glaring at Lala.
"What's up!? Why did you do that...!?" He demanded as he whispered to her.
"Well it was your fault that my secret got out..." The pinkette began, twiddling her fingers as she did so. "It's only fair that your secret gets out too. Besides, I bet no one will care about too much right?"
"Why you little...!" Goku couldn't really get angry at her since she did have a point about the secret part, but she could have at least told him about her plan before she did what she did.
"No way!" Risa said. "We've had an alien at our school for years and we didn't know about it?"
"I know! It's like something that came out of an old alien film! Like that E.T. guy!"
"E.T. wasn't a high school student, he was an alien stuck on Earth. Completely different thing." Goku commented. "Secondly, I'm only partially alien, my great ancestor Goku was the person that me and my family get our alien blood from."
"Oh, well that explains it then." Haruna nodded at her friend's explanation.
"Still, to think that one of the Earth's greatest fighters was actually an alien... sort of ironic don't you think?" Saruyama commented.
"Well Grandpa Goku was raised on Earth... So I guess technically he counts as an earthling." Goku added before looking at Haruna somewhat awkwardly. "You're not mad that I've kept it a secret?"
"No, I think I can understand, and so do the others..." Haruna said as Risa, Mio, and Saruyama nodded in agreement. The boy sighed in relief once more at his action, proving that his worries were nothing more than a fantasy of his.
"But you're not keeping anymore secrets are you?" The blue-haired girl inquired and Goku flinched in surprise.
"No, no, no! Just that and Lala's secret too!" He quickly replied. There was no way he could mention that Lala was an alien princess and he was now engaged to her due to winning her favor according to both her and her father.
"Good. Shall we continue the party then?" Haruna asked with a smile on her face, a smile that found its way to the others faces as well.
Goku felt a hand holding his, and he looked to see Lala beside him with a wide smile on her face.
"See? Didn't I tell you they wouldn't mind?"
"I guess..." He rubbed the back his neck, at least he didn't have to worry about Lala's secret on Earth anymore.
Soon enough, the group's activities for that day continued.
Inside Zastin's spaceship at Earth's orbit...
"Zastin-sama, we have an incoming transmission from his Highness King Deviluke!"
"Put it on screen!" Zastin ordered and the soldier did as he was told.
Soon the image of the Devilukean King appeared on screen covered by shadows casted from the light behind his chair.
"Yo Zastin, it's been a while hasn't it?"
"Y-Yes it has your highness!" Zastin kneeled in respect. "Might I ask why you are calling at this time?"
"Nothing special. Just wanting to see for myself what kind of person that won the favor of my daughter is all." The King replied. "I'm already on my way to Earth as we speak. I should be there during the next few days."
Zastin widened his eyes at that. The king was coming to Earth?
"Prepare the welcome wagon! Tell Son Goku to prepare himself as I, Gid Lucion Deviluke, have come to see what kind of man he is. If he disappoints me, then it's bye-bye Earth."
With that, the transmission ended as Zastin began sweating.
"Goku-dono may be powerful... but how will he fare against the King?"
Inside another spaceship travelling at the speed of light, a figure sat on the bridge drinking a glass of wine.
In terms of general visual appearance, he was male and was also rather tall. The most striking visual feature of this person would have been the fact that he had white armor covering his body with several places on his body shining like a purple gem. The fact was that the armor he appeared to be wearing was actually part of his skin. The parts that weren't covered by it were colored a light shade of purple. He also had dark purple eyes and markings on his face, as well as a large tail that lounged itself on one of his chair's armrests.
"Sire, it appears that we shall be reaching Earth in a week at best."
"I see." The being spoke. "Well it's not like we're in a hurry. The World Tournament that those earthlings refer to as the Tenkaichi Budokai doesn't happen until the end of the month in their standard time.
"Still, I can't wait to see them..." He smirked as he drank once more.
"Sire, if I may, is it wise to seek them out?" The person he had been speaking to earlier asked.
"Perhaps or perhaps not Breis. Either way, I cannot help but shiver in excitement..."
He crushed the glass in his hands.
"The descendants of those who humiliated and defeated my ancestor Frieza... I wonder how strong they are?"
"If it's your wish to fight them Sire, then it is my duty as your servant to guide you to them." Breis bowed respectfully.
"Please Breis, you helped raise me since I was little after all. Call me Froze."
"Yes, under your will Lord Froze."
The being known as Froze smiled, knowing that Earth was only a few days away.
END
Author's Notes:
The longest chapter I've written so far! Taking events from Run's debut, the time Lala stayed over at Haruna's, Yami getting sick, and Haruna's birthday. The title refers to Gid's announcement at the end and Froze's debut.
As you've all read, Beat and Note finally make their debut in the middle of the chapter. In case any of you are wondering, they have the same appearance as their DB: Heroes counterparts initial appearance.
As for Froze, his initial form would be the same as the default one for the Frieza Race from Xenoverse only about Goku's height and colored to look more like Frieza in his final form with a dash of Cooler.
Now that I think about it, the only real OCs I've made up until now would be both Bloom Leigh and the Majin Female that I'm going to show later. Goku Jr., Vegeta Leigh, Beat and Note, Froze, are all based on actual characters from the Franchise. But since they haven't actually been developed fully as characters, I'll be taking my own liberties with them. Especially with Froze seeing as the original from DB: Heroes has a different appearance.
Next chapter, the big daddy finally arrives! How will Goku fare against the King of the Galaxy? Will he impress or will the Earth be blown up?
I don't know if they should be fighting or if they should just resort to sizing each other up by flaring their auras. The latter, for some reason to me, would be hilarious. A teenage boy and a kid the size of a baby having a pissing match XD. If they were to fight, I'd like for Goku to face off against Gid when he's at 100%, that way both would be at full strength.
Signing off!
