TAYLOR (continued)

I looked at myself in the mirror of the girl's bathroom. I didn't know how to feel about anything that was going on in my life. I really just wanted peace. I didn't want to constantly think about Troy because it only made my head hurt that I could not be with him. So I think the best thing to do is avoid him and focus on being Chad's girlfriend, right?

I pulled out my cell phone when I heard the bathroom door open and I looked up in the mirror to see who it was. Gabriella walked in with a group of her friends laughing. They stopped when they saw me.

"Speaking of trash." Gabriella smirked.

"Excuse me?" I questioned.

"Look I don't know what's going on with you, but stay away from my man." Gabriella walked towards me.

I shook my head at her. "I really don't know what you're talking about." I turned back around.

I heard Gabriella whisper something to her friends before she tapped me on the shoulder. By this time I was irritated by her presence.

"Montez! No one wants Troy except for you. Now get out of my face." I walked past her basically pushing her friends out of my way as I walked to the door.

"If I catch you making eyes at him again, we will have problems." Gabriella said.

I stopped at the door and turned around to look at her.

"Oh, I'm so scared." I said as I jokingly sounded terrified. "Girl please." I said as I walked out of the bathroom.

SHARPAY

I sat in my math class with Troy. The teacher let us work in pairs on a math assignment that is due tomorrow so Troy and I worked together. I would've worked with Ryan but he was too busy flirting with Kelsi.

"Do you get this?" I asked Troy.

"The only thing I understand is basketball." Troy responded.

I groaned and stared at my textbook. "When am I going to use any of this material anyway? My accountant people are going to do all of my finances."

"Can they do my finances to?" Troy joked and we laughed.

The bell rang and we gathered our things together to leave. "So you and Gabriella… what is going on with that?" I asked. "You know she really likes you right?"

Troy started to walk and I followed behind him. "Yeah I know, but the thing is that I don't like her like she likes me.

"But you asked her to go to your house for dinner. I am so confused." I said as we roamed the busy halls during passing period.

"I know. It's just because the person that I wanted to go with me kind of had a change of plans." Troy said as we stopped at the door of his next class. Mines was next door.

"So who was your first choice?" I asked.

"Look I can't talk about this right now. I will see you later." Troy turned around and walked in his class.

The bell rung. "Oh, shit!"

CHAD

During my free period I was in the gym shooting hoops. That was one of the ways I could get my mind off things. I couldn't go bother Taylor because she was in class.

"Hey Chad." I turned around to see Zeke walking towards me.

"Hey, don't you have a class this period?" I asked him.

"Yeah, but we have a substitute so I was able to convince her that the lunch ladies need my help with a new lunch recipe." Zeke responded.

"How did you-" I stopped talking and shook my head. "Never mind." I chuckled. I continued dribbling the ball and taking a few shots in between.

"Look man, I am having a party at my house this Friday." Zeke said. "You down?"

"Hell yeah man!" I responded. "No adults, loud ass music, drinks, Taylor." I turned around and smiled at Zeke. "Why wouldn't I come?"

"Aye man but there's a catch." Zeke said.

I turned around and looked at him.

"I'm inviting Sharpay." He said.

"Okay, that's your girl. Why wouldn't she be there?" I responded. I turned around got in the position to shoot.

"And Troy and Gabriella." Zeke said just as I threw the ball and missed the basket.

"Damnit Zeke." I said in a joking way. "Do you really have to?"

"Sharpay won't go unless her friends are there. Besides Troy is on the team now. We're all teammates. We need to act like it." Zeke responded.

I rolled my eyes and turned around to continue dribbling.

"So, you in?" Zeke asked.

"Aye, you never said I had to talk to him. I'm in." I responded before making the basket.

TAYLOR

After school I sat down on the couch in the living room. I was watching The Notebook and eating popcorn.

"Hey sis, how are you?" Jane walked through the front doors of the house. She kissed me on the cheek.

"Good just watching a movie, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"I'm expecting a package. Did the mail come yet?" she asked.

"Yes, but nothing for you." I laughed.

"Whatever, so mom tells me you and Chad finally went on a date. Are you guys like in a relationship yet?" Jane asked.

"Yes! But don't tell mom, I haven't told her yet and don't even say anything in front of dad." I said.

She came over and sat next to me on the couch.

"Don't worry, I won't say anything. But it is about time you two got together. You know, Chad has liked you for as long as I can remember." She said. "Okay, well what else is new? Oh and what happened to that other boy? Um, what was his name?"

"His name is Troy." I sighed and paused the movie. I got up and walked in the kitchen with my sister following me. "And you want to know what's new? Hmm where do I start? Zeke is dating a white girl named sharpay which I am completely cool with. Chad and I are dating but it is obvious Troy likes me and Chad doesn't like that nor does Gabriella, who is one of Sharpay's friends." I said really fast.

"Wow." Jane responded. "Well, do you like this Troy person?"

"I don't know. You know he invited me to have dinner with his family Saturday but then he decided to take Gabriella instead." I told my sister. "And it's all because he saw me kissing Chad." I walked back into the living room.

"Well Taylor the boy feelings were hurt." Jane said. "And I know that you know exactly how that feels."

My phone vibrated on the couch. I picked it up to see a text from Chad.

"I keep telling myself to focus on my relationship with Chad but it's not easy when-" my sister cut me off.

"When your heart is somewhere else?" she finished my sentence.

"Maybe." I said silently. "But I want to give Chad a chance, because I do like him."

"Well Chad is cute. And you guys are really cute together and he is a nice guy. Just see how things play out. You may end up falling in love with chad and forgetting all about Troy." My sister said. "You haven't had sex with him have you?"

"No!" I made a face. "I am still a virgin." I said.

Jane looked around. "Mom and dad must be at work because usually you whisper when I ask you that. Well just talk to me or mom before you make that decision."

"Mom?" I asked.

"Yeah, your right. Call me first. Bye!" My sis hugged me before she walked to the door. "Love you!" she said before closing the door.

I picked up my phone to read the text from Chad.

Hey beautiful, party at Zeke's Friday night. Care to be my date?

I thought a little bit about what my sister said before responding.

I would love to! Can't wait.

Okay guys I am so sorry that it has been a long time since I've updated any of my stories but I've been in college and I had times when I could write but I have had serious writer's blockage. I hope you guys didn't forget about me because I did not forget about you. Hopefully this is the beginning of some more writing. Thanks for reading!
