Sorry again for not writing in a while. Aside from technical difficulties, I was busy with looking for jobs and studying Web Design. I am trying to take time to continue writing this tale. I'm splitting this chapter into two parts because I am having trouble proofreading the part where Gnomeo sees Juliet again. I am also have been busy cleaning the house for relatives who are coming to visit tomorrow. Thus, it's been getting hard for me to find time to write. But even when I do have free time, I have trouble getting myself to write so I do something else until inspiration hits me. Anyway, Let's read on!
Chapter 10 part 1
Juliet splashed cool water in her face from Nanette's tongue. She dried her eyes, not saying a word. When she came back home, Nanette frantically apologized to Juliet for failing to watch over Violetta. Earlier, she had taken a nap and by the time she woke up, the bed was empty! Juliet would have chastise the frog for sleeping on the job, if her thoughts weren't on that certain Blue. (Although she muttered to Nanette "Don't do that again.") After washing her face, Juliet descended upon the stairs.
"Hey, where's that oh-so-important-life-changing orchid?" Nanette asked.
"What orchid?" Juliet mumbled. Nanette thought this was strange. Okay, she thought. Something's not right. She seems absent-minded Tonight.
Reaching to the top of her pedestal, Juliet looked at the stars in the sky. She gave a sad sigh. How was she going to tell her family that she had fallen in love with Gnomeo? From out of nowhere, Nanette grabbed Juliet's face and studied it.
"Hmmm...," Nanette thought. What could be the matter?
"What?" Juliet asked nervously.
"Shut up!" Nanette exclaimed, figuring out. She let go of Juliet's face. "You met a boy!"
Juliet blushed red a d tried to deny it. "What?! No! Well..kind of. Yes! Yes, I did!"
"Knew it!" Nanette sang in a sing-song voice. "Tell me the details and talk slowly so I can hear you well! Is he handsome?"
"Totally!" Juliet smiled.
"Does he have a round belly?"
"Well, let's call it sturdy."
"And his..." Nanette motioned her arms into a triangle over head. Juliet was hoping Nanette wouldn't ask her about Gnomeo's hat.
"His hat is...," she paused, nervously.
"Big and pointy?" Nanette chirped.
"Yes, and um...in a certain light, you would say..it almost looks...blue," Juliet whispered to Nanette. She prepared for her best friend to freak out. But the frog just stood still with the same silly smile on her face. Juliet became concerned.
"...Blue," Nanette said, slowly. Abruptly, she sat up. "Oh I get it! This was one of your jokes!" The frog laughed. "Right?"
"Wrong!" Juliet mumbled. "I'm not kidding!"
"What!? Aaaaah! What is this!? What is this!? You've been snogging a Blue!?" Nanette exclaimed. Juliet quickly shushed Nanette.
"Quiet Nanette! Do you want my father to hear!?" The Red girl hissed.
"No!"
"Then, please keep it a secret!" Juliet pleaded.
"All right, all right," Nanette said calmly. Slowly, a smile crept on her face. Nanette got so excited that she spit out water at Juliet. "Oh Juliet! This is fantastic!"
"It is!?" Juliet asked, hopefully.
"Yes, it's doomed!" Nanette cheered.
"What!?" Juliet cried. The sky turned hot pink as Nanette began her monologue.
"A love between a Blue and a Red, it won't work! because of the feud, your father and his parents won't allow it! They'll keep you two apart, no matter what! You'll be yearning for him for years! And that's the best kind of love! Then when you get old and rusty, you'll think, 'Oh my true love, I only saw him once!' "
Then, Nanette feigned her faint in Juliet's arms. Juliet was shocked and scared by her friend's speech that she dropped the frog. The red girl tried to find her voice.
"What..no..that can't..what-What do you mean I'll only see him once?" Juliet asked annoyed. "What a horrible thing to say!"
"Hey, I'm just trying to be realistic!" Nanette replied, casually. She picked up a nearby daisy and began plucking its petals. "Your love is doomed! Your love is dead! Doomed! Dead!.."
Nanette hopped away, still plucking the flower. Juliet picked up one of the petals And looked at it sadly. "I'll only see him...once?" She said to herself. Juliet knew this was wrong. She didn't know Gnomeo very well and she shouldn't fall in love with him, either! Yet, Juliet couldn't shake off her feelings for him. No one had looked at her so lovely before! No, she couldn't forget about that lovely night.
