Chapter 10

Nearing the exit after a lot of fighting and destroying, Alister goes to the hanger computer and noticed that the hanger doors were locked and he had to hack the computer to get it opened. While he was doing that Ratchet attacked the robots. Once Alister got the door opened more robots came and Ratchet needed to get rid of them before they could get out of there safely. One all of them were gone Ratchet and Alister went to their ships and as Alister left he says, " I'm going on ahead. I'll let you know when I decrepit the data and thanks for saving an old lombax Ratchet."

As Ratchet got into his ship and took off Lord Vorselon's ship left and as Ratchet was flying he gets a message from Alister. " Ratchet, are you alright? Were you able to clear the ship?"

Ratchet nodded, " Yeah, I was clear. Were you able to decrypt Vorselon's flight data?"

" They're encoded with a double hexagonal holo-key, but one of the files was unprotected. It looks like coordinates to the Bernilius sector."

" Well, it's not much but it's our only lead. Upload them to my ship and I'll meet you there. Ratchet out."

He jumped the Bernilius sector; the plants are blue, and there are groups of those blue crystals floating around. A few minutes later, he gets another transmission from Alister, " Ratchet, come in. I just picked up a looping transmission one of the emergency frequencies. Tell me what you make of this?" Ratchet then listened to a high-pitched that seems to be repeating itself over and over again. And then Ratchet knew who it came from.

" I don't believe it!" He says, " That's a distress call with Clank's signature! Aphelion, can you track the source?"

After a few seconds, Aphelion says, " The origin appears to be planet Vapedia. Acquiring coordinates now."

" Just think," Alister says, " By tonight, your friend will be safe and the clock will be ours. I'll be there as soon as I can!" He signs off. Another Valkyrie name Carina and she wasn't going to let Ratchet with out an fight. After defeated Carina, He land on planet Vapedia. It looks like something from the prehistoric age, with talt palm trees and large rocks. It's pretty mild in temperature, defiantly different from the dead and barren Tombil outpost. Getting out of the ship, he saw that Alister's ship already beaten him there. " Clank's distress call terminates somewhere inside the citadel. This calls for a classic smash and grab." And Ratchet nodded his head in agreement with that idea and followed Alister with his hover boots and slingshot.

After hours of hover booting and getting through to the citadel, he meet up with Cassiopeia. She's behind a turret and she's not happy to see him, " Well, well, well." She sounds like she's about to kill him right here and now but she didn't and she says, " If it isn't the galaxy's favorite Lombaxes."

Alister steps forward to speak first. " Our quarrel isn't with you, Cassiopeia. Hand over Clank, and we'll cause no more trouble." Alister should know there is no point in reasoning with people like her.

She laughs at them, " Cause no more trouble, huh? Carina and Libra are dead thanks to you! And now that we've gotten what we need from the caretaker, his time has come. Valkyries, destroy the Lombaxes!" She flies away.

Alister starts to chase after her." She's going to kill Clank! I'm going after her!" Ratchet tries to stop him, but he wasn't fast enough.

After getting past Cassy's death traps and the Valkyries that attacked him at every turn, he finally came to face Cassiopeia herself. She's on her ship with the turret on it, and he actually couldn't tell if she was pleased or not. " I'm actually happy you survived the training course. It would've been a shame to lose such a worthy opponents to some cheap machine."

Ratchet smirks and looks up at her. " Speaking of cheap machines? How much is your boyfriend paying you to do his dirty work?"

" Quick tongue." Cassy starts. " And an amusing observation coming from the orphan who is doomed to spend their lives alone! Ratchet, you know that little robot of yours was ready to kick up his little metal feet and stay in the Great Clock forever? Yeah! He wants to leave you, didn't you know that? But don't worry. I'll kill the both of you before he has the chance!" A tank slides open, and he saw an unconscious little robot suspended in midair.

" Clank! What did you do to him?" Ratchet shouts.

" Nothing, compared to what I'm about to do to you!" Cassy says.

Cassy is fierce in battle; she's hostile, and not afraid to get things messy. She's dropping bombs on Ratchet and it's not safe. Cassy's machine finally explodes, and with a scream of agony, she crashes through the tank that held Clank who falls with her. Ratchet only looks down for a split second before he jumps down and went after Clank.

" Clank!" Ratchet yells, his voice echoing. " Wake up!" Clank's green eyes opened and saw Ratchet. Ratchet turns on his hover boots and grabs him. Only then it turns into a total nightmare, when he almost crashed into-well, almost everything, basically-and he had to do a lot of bouncing off the walls. And once he got to ground he held onto Clank as he slam force backwards into the ground with his hover boots and skid the land, and almost fell of the ledge and Ratchet grabs Clank and he pulls Clank back up and they fall on their backs.

" Hello, Ratchet." Clank says.

Ratchet was trying to catch his breath, his hand was over his heart and he turns to look at his pal and says, " Hey pal, how you doin'?"

Clank answers, " Fine, you?"

" Fantastic. Yeah, I'm just-I'm just gonna lie here for a while though, okay?" He lays his head back down and closes his eyes to rest. Alister arrives in his ship, and Ratchet told Clank what happened to Orvus. Ratchet sat next to Clank on his ship while Alister was looking at his watch while listening to Ratchet. " I'm sorry about your father, Clank. I should've stopped Nefarious sooner."

Clank puts his hand on Ratchet's shoulder. " It is alright." He glares. " Nefarious will pay for what he has done. All that matters now is that keep the clock safe."

Alister closed his watch and says, " Don't worry. Once the past her been corrected, you'll have the full support of the Lombax Praetorian Guard. The clock will be in good hands."

" You don't understand. Time cannot be changed. Using the clock improperly could rip the very fabric of existence."

" Or," Alister turns stern himself as Ratchet jumps off the ship and turns away, trying to clear his head as Alister continues. " It could save an entire race of Lombaxes who gave their lives to defend don't this galaxy." Ratchet didn't really know what to do. He jumped off hi ship and started to walk away till he heard Clank say, " Ratchet, remember the Dimensionater?" Ratchet looked right back at his friend and Clank says, " Some risks are not worth taking."

" Well..." Ratchet finally says while looking at Alister , " Maybe Clank's right. If there's even a chance it could destroy the universe, the risks is just too great."

" Risk?" Alister asks. " Risk is what makes us who we are! Ratchet, our kind is lost without us. Think of how many that clock could save. Think of your parents."

Ratchet looks down for a minute and then walks away from Alister and Clank followed right behind him to Aphelion. " I'm sorry. We need to stop Nefarious before he makes the same mistake we almost did." Ratchet kept walking to Aphelion and he says, " So, you coming, general?" Alister got into his ship and took off just when Ratchet turns around. " General?" and then he saw the he was gone.
