"Christian, what's the matter? What is Dr. Greene's photograph doing on your table?" Ana demanded.

Christian was perplexed. He had not expected his wife to come around his office while he was dealing with the problem at hand. Ana had gone through a lot in the recent times. If he told her that she was tricked, it would be difficult to contain her. And in the current situation Christian was not ready with any edited story. But then, he did not want to tell her the edited story.

He knew that Ana deserved to know the truth. But, his team was still working at finding the complete story and if they were going in the wrong direction, it could leave all of them in a worse mess. Ana had almost killed herself with guilt and remorse and she deserved to know that she was not at fault at all, if that was true. But, he still did not know if his dear wife was simply put through hell or if there was a baby and it was aborted. Whoever was involved in this, he wasn't going to spare them. But how did he have to deal with the situation in hand? That he did not have an answer to.

"Christian, what are you thinking? What's happening? Please tell me. You need to stop keeping me in the dark Christian. I am your wife. Money and sex shouldn't be the only things that are shared between us. Please Christian, tell me. Whatever it is." Ana urged him.

"Baby, I will tell you. But before that, please promise me that you will keep your calm." he pleaded and Ana just gave a swift nod. She knew something was just not right and it definitely was concerning her family. Otherwise Christian would not be sitting so helpless. But, she was also fighting a battle with herself. She knew that if Christian was so concerned about disclosing something, it could be a huge blow to her. But then, she also knew the over-protective Christian who simply worried about her. Given her state over the past month, it gave all the more reason for her husband to freak out with anything that concerned her.

"Ana, the abortion. Welch is finding a different story as he is digging into the issue" he started in a defeated tone.

"What do you mean Christian? I did not know that you asked Welch to investigate into this, but now, even after I know I don't understand why. This is purely my mistake Christian. Please stop beating yourself like this." she replied, with a tone which was refilled with guilt.

"Anastasia, baby, Welch has his doubts about you being pregnant at all. He thinks that it was a plot to separate us; A game played by Elena using Dr. Greene. Probably a way of taking revenge on us." Christian spoke.

She felt like the earth beneath her was collapsing. She didn't know how to react. "But, the ultrasound?" she blurted.

"Baby, Welch is trying to get into the hospital's system to find out the actual story. Right now we also are confused and its too early to conclude about anything. That is the reason I did not want to tell you anything. I was afraid how it would affect you again. But, I also don't want you assuming that I want to hide things from you. But, I beg you. please don't over think about this" he pleaded.

But he was too late. Ana already was trying to think how it could have been done. She had clearly missed her period by 10 days and that had never happened before. The only cause for that would possibly be a pregnancy. But, her husband now had a different story. Not only that, but she still had not gotten her periods, even though it was 28 days past the abortion episode. And, she clearly was not pregnant now because she had not had sex in the past month without protection. There was something amiss, what she could not point out.

"Christian, I haven't yet gotten my period since the abortion, I just realized" she spat out and immediately found her husband's brow crease.

"Baby, I want you to do something now. Do you think you will be up to it?" Christian asked and Ana nodded, curious to find out the plot behind all this, if there was any.

"I will have taylor fix an appointment with Dr. Greene with you first thing tomorrow. I want you to carefully inquire about all the questions you have. I have looked up for symptoms of pregnancy and the after effects of an abortion. " he says, handing over a printed paper to her.

"Please go through them and ask about anything you find fishy. I will have Welch tape the session so we can look for clues, only if you are comfortable with it." he adds.

"There's nothing to be uncomfortable about Christian. If someone has chosen to mess with my feelings, I have to know. It could have been serious." she admits. "I even had the thought of .." she continues, but chooses not to let her moment of weakness be another addition to Christian's worry. Right now she had a task at hand and she had to think about how she would execute it. It had to be done perfectly to drag anyone possibly involved into her husband's trap. No one would mess with her family. Not now, not ever!
