Cause we're young and we're reckless

We'll take this way too far

It'll leave you breathless

Or with a nasty scar

Got a long list of ex-lovers

They'll tell you I'm insane

But I got a blank space baby

And I'll write your name

We walked over to a woman that shorter than Seth, but most people were, and I saw features that they shared. I figured that this was his mom and I felt myself start to freeze. He hadn't told me that I would have to meet his mom tonight and I felt so unprepared to not only meet her but meet everyone else as well.

"Mom, this is Ami." Seth gave me a gentle push forward until I was in the limelight and standing right in front of her. I pinched my left leg and mentally told myself to stop being rude and say something.

"Hello Ami." I felt her pull me into a hug and her arms wrapped around my frame and I reached out and hugged her back. I could almost bet that I was blushing.

"This is my mom Sue Clearwater." I pulled back and stood beside Seth and wanted to do nothing more than look down at the ground.

"It's nice to meet you finally. Seth has been talking about you nonstop." I blushed and looked at Seth who had a grin on his face. He looked proud.

"It hasn't been nonstop." I smiled and grabbed Seth's hand again. It felt nice being here with him and holding his hand. It felt nice being out on such a beautiful night. It was warm with a cool breeze, but it was perfect. If only I had my camera…

"Sure it hasn't. Are you hungry Ami? Come eat." I nodded and followed Seth's mom, pulling my hand away from his, and followed her over to a few tables that were set up with food. Everything looked so good and if it wasn't for me being so nervous, I would've dug right in.

"Go ahead." She handed me a plate and I grabbed it, looking over all of the food. There was enough food here to feed and entire army and I didn't really understand why there needed to be so much. But then I remembered the night Kim and Jared and I had all gotten together. Jared ate for himself and two more people and then some. I didn't know how he could eat so much and stay the size he was.

"Hey Ami!" I smiled at Kim and grabbed some food, when she started too. I was glad Kim was here, if Seth ever left to go do something at least I could talk to her.

"Hey Kim." I walked back over to the logs and sat down, getting adjusted before I started picking at my food.

"I'm so excited that you're here. The legends are amazing and such a great tale of bravery and courage." I nodded even though I had no idea what she was talking about. I hadn't really paid attention when Seth was telling me about what was going to go on tonight. I was too focused on him.

"I've heard. I can't wait." I smiled but it didn't last long when Jared came over and took Kim's attention. They started out kissing slowly then there was more passion. I had no problem with people kissing in public, you know if it didn't look like it belonged on an adult movie.

"You two get a room or get lost." I turned to my right and saw a tall, tan, native woman with short hair sitting next to me. She had a tough, mean look on her face, but beneath it all I could see that she was clearly hurt about something and was quite sensitive.

"Screw you Leah." Jared glared at Leah and grabbed Kim's hand and they left down towards the shoreline leaving me and Leah alone. Great. Someone I didn't know.

"It would be just like him to leave you." I frowned at Leah. I didn't know who or what she was talking about. I didn't know who she was.

"I beg your pardon?" I didn't want to come off rude and I hoped that she didn't get that impression from me. She was at least 10" taller than me and she had a bigger muscular build. She could do some damage if she wanted.

"My brother. Seth. It would be like him to leave you."

"I'm right here Leah. Jesus." Seth sat on my left and slung his arm over my shoulders and dragged me closer to him. He pressed into me and sat taller, almost like he was shielding me from Leah.

"It's her first time being here and you leave her to defend for herself? You're not better than Paul." The way Leah spat out Paul's name gave me the impression that she had more anger than I had first realized.

"What's your problem? Do you have a problem with her being here?" I felt so awkward being between them. I tried to shrink where I was sitting and disappear but Seth's arm over my shoulders stopped my movements.

"No I don't have a problem with her being here. I have a problem with you leaving her by herself when she clearly only knows Kim." I could Seth tighten up by the way his shoulders moved and I looked from him to his sister. I hoped they didn't get into a fight.

"I had to talk to Sam." Leah scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest.

"And leave your im…" Seth glared at Leah and there was silence between them.

"Go away Leah." Seth spoke after a minute and I could feel him shaking beside me. I looked up at him and saw his jaw was rigid and his eyes were hard and guarded.

"Seth, are you okay?" It was such a change from before when he had such a playful look in his eyes. From that to this, hardened glare, it was so different.

"I'm fine." It went back to being silent for a few minutes, during that time that Leah left and then it was just Seth and I.

"Sorry about that. Leah and I have our days where we get along and other times when we don't." I nodded and stared at the burning fire in front of me. It was getting darker and that's when the legends started, or so Seth said.

"I understand." Seth smiled and started to relax and I felt so much more at ease when he did. It was like the whole encounter didn't happen and it went back to being a relaxed environment.

"I can't wait for the legends. They sound interesting." Seth nodded but didn't say anything. I leaned back against him and sighed. I was having a great time, despite what went on earlier and I felt like if the night went on forever, I would be totally fine with that.

Okay so here's an update. Long time coming. Hope you like it and next chapter will be when he reveals the truth. Sorry if the writing seems different. I haven't written for this fanfiction in such a long time. (PS: Currently listening to Love Runs Out by One Republic)
