A/N: If you don't like massive plot twists don't read. The last chapter can count as an ending but this is my ending.

Enjoy xx

Gajeel took in a sharp breath as he stepped into the hospital. He'd seen Natsu and Lucy on his way in, Lucy had been crying which meant that her sate hadn't changed. Gajeel let the breath out and walked to the women at the reception.

"Hello Gajeel, gonna see her again?" She asked politely. Gajeel nodded.

"Go right on in." Gajeel thanked her and walked to the comatose ward where he stood outside the door he had walked through every day for the past year. The door that read Levy McGarden. Pushing it open he stepped into the room. He took in her small pale form in the hospital bed. The drip in her arm that kept her alive as well as the heart monitor to show that she was alive. Gajeel sighed, she hadn't changed in the year that she'd been comatose. Her skin was paler yes and her hair had grown longer but he knew that she was still the same person that she had been last year. He knew what had happened, everyone did. They'd been ambushed my a rouge mage, he'd started to drain Jet and Droy's magical energy and she'd gotten in the way to stop them, she gave her life to save her friends. And now because of it she was lying unmoving in the comatose ward.

"Levy. I'm sorry I wasn't their." He muttered as he walked towards her bedside. He ruffled her hair and he heard the heart monitor beep a bit faster. He raised an eyebrow. Was she waking up?

"Lucy was here, I saw her on my way in. She was with Natsu, they've been going out for a couple of months now, everyone was happy when they finally started going out. They were crying. They all miss you Levy, you have to wake up soon or else... I think blondie will run out of books to read to ya and I don't know what'll happen." A tear fell from the iron dragon slayers cheek, only then did he realise that he was crying. He quickly wiped it away using the back of his hand.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't bother ya Shorty, your probably having a real nice dream right now hey shrimp." A small smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. "I'll be going then. I cant stay ,they wont let me any more." He got up to leave. After almost a year of sitting in the room with her he couldn't stand it any longer than five minuets. Just then the heart monitor picked up some speed as Levy's heart rate increased. She was waking up. For the first time in almost a year Gajeel felt something that he'd long since forgotten. Hope. Gajeel took a step towards the girl in the bed who's hands had started to clench and unclench.

"Levy. Listen to my voice. Levy." She seemed to listen and her whole body tensed, her back arching up as her eyes flew open and she sucked in a deep breath.

Levy's eyes were unfocused for a couple of seconds and it took a couple of blinks to get acquainted to the harsh light in the room. She heard a small sob from beside her beside and turned to see Gajeel, eyes watery and a wide smile plastered on his face. He wrapped his arms around her frail body and she looked at him in shock. But that only lasted a second until she wrapped her arms around his neck. She could hear him crying and she couldn't help but wonder why until she caught what he was muttering.

"Your awake. Yer finally awake." He grabbed her shoulders and held her at arms length. She knew what had happened now, she remembered it all. She had fallen into a coma . But her dream had seemed so real, from her locking Jet and Droy in her room all the way through to the kiss in the snow.

"I'm back" She said, her voice came out dry and pained but it was worth it for the look on Gajeel's face.

"Welcome back shrimp." He couldn't wipe the smirk of if he tried. Suddenly, as if remembering something, Gajeel lurched towards the communication lacryma that had been installed recently in the room. Almost without thinking he connected to the bar in Fairy Tail. Mirajane answered and was shocked to see Gajeel's face covered in tears.

"Are you OK Gajeel?" The white haired mage asked. Gajeel nodded.

"Can you put me on the main lacryma Mira?" A smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth. Mirajane nodded and complied, filing the lacryma with a view of the whole guild.

"You, everyone." The guild looked up and he saw Lucy and Natsu enter and look up at the lacryma.

"Gajeel what ya doin on the main lacryma?" the pink haired mage asked, well yelled.

"Guess who finally woke up." A satisfied smirk found its way onto his face as his guild mates all took in a sharp breath. He heard Levy get up out of her hospital bed and watched as she wobbly took her first steps in a year, she was weak, yes. But she was a Fairy Tail mage and they were nothing if not determined. Her pale and light frame sat next to him and waved at her guild mates. She saw Jet and Droy in the guild and she could see that Jet at least was fighting the urge to come and see her. Gajeel hadn't taken his eyes of the girl that was now sat next to him. It was his first chance to take her all in, Her skin was definitely paler and this made her hair look brighter as well as her eyes look warmer. She'd grown a bit too. Don't get him wrong she was still a midget. She was just a bit taller now. She turned then. Her smiled warmed him all the way from the tip of his toes to the very core of himself. She'd just woken up from a year long comma and he could tell that she couldn't be happier. He couldn't stop himself any longer. His dragon took control.

He kissed her.

And she did nothing to stop him.

And they heard Mirajane say finally.
