Soulless Eyes

Oh my… it's been how long since I've updated? I've wronged you all! ;_; I keep forgetting that just because I know how this story will end, it doesn't mean that everyone else does. And then the cliffhangers I leave…. . I'm truly sorry. I just had a rough past year. Well, please excuse this chapter for any bad sentences or grammar. I feel like I haven't written in FOREVER, so my flow may be off. See…..note to everyone, when you take a long ass hiatus, make sure you at least tell your beta. Enough of my blabbering, I hope y'all are ready! I'm about to drown this story in evil, corruption, treachery, and all of those things above. XD Make sure you can keep up. Several things are happening around the same time.

s/n: CIRO is the Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office. The CIRO is one of the six divisions of the Cabinet Secretariat within the Prime Minister's Office, and technically speaking is Japan's "central intelligence agency" (CIA)

The high-pitched bell rang, signaling the end of another period. She hurried off to her next destination, busting the doors wide open to the outside. The sunlight greeted her with an equal amount of enthusiasm. Chichi pranced outside, oblivious to the sneering in her direction from the majority of her classmates. She felt like she was on cloud nine and it wasn't because it was recess. She much rather prefer academics, specifically science, over physical activities that she had practically mastered in her own way. No, Chichi was happy because today was Career Day. After recess had convened and her class had returned, it would be her father's turn to tell about his career working at a special division of the CIRO. It was basically code-word for vampire slaying; however, none of the other children knew that. Either way, her magnificent, courageous, and honorable father would amaze the children today. Even those snot nosed brats who had learned from their stupid parents that her father was "crazy."

Who wouldn't be happy to show off their parent, especially one as great as he is? No matter how old she became, she will forever remain honored to have a father like him. She was 11 now and still had much to live for but she could never see her father doing anything in the future that would make her lose any respect for him. While Chichi remained in a blissful daze, mesmerized by the thought of her father speaking proudly in front of her classmates, two in particular walked up behind her and stood. She had been sitting on the step near the playground. Right now their shadows loomed over her, snatching away a bit of the sunshine she was bathing in.

"What are you over here smiling about? What's the demon smiling about Haru?" the teenager asked, puzzled, as he turned to his friend.

"There's nothing for her to smile about. I wouldn't be smiling if I had a loony parent who was coming to my school. It'd be embarrassing and I'd be ashamed." He snickered. Haru leaned over Chichi some more, mockingly asking, "What type of job does a loony like him have anyway?"

It was quiet before Chichi, who had been rudely interrupted from her thoughts, replied, "First it's a career, not a job. A job is what your father has. Minimum wage, working at…umm… McDonnie's isn't it?"

The boy's fist balled up, anger immediately taking a hold of him. Chichi carelessly stood up and turned around to face the two. She didn't give him a chance to respond before saying, "I'm sincerely sorry Haru that your dad couldn't show up for career day because he has a job but that isn't an excuse to take your anger out on someone for your father's inadequacies. It's rather childish if you ask me. But what do I know? You're 13 and I'm 11. You're supposed to know more even though you've failed fifth grade about twice."

Haru immediately grabbed the hem of Chichi's shirt, forcing her to stand on her tippy toes as he glared at her. "What did you just say you little bitch?" Haru spat.

Chichi's face remained blank as she grabbed his hand that had her shirt in its grasp.

Snap, pop, crack. That was the sound of the boy's hand breaking as she held firmly onto it, bringing him to his knees. Chichi then said as calmly as ever, "My kami, do you need a hearing aid as well? Deaf and Dumb. Next thing you know, you'll go blind."

Mouth agape, Haru's friend stood their dumbfounded. He didn't know what to do in this manner as his friend was on his knees releasing screams bursting with deep anguish. The only thing he knew how to do, didn't involve pointless words. It involved his fists. Thus, the only action he could take included throwing a punch in Chichi's direction.

Everything went by in a flash. Before Chichi had realized it, she was in the hospital wing in school holding up tissue to clog her nose that continued to gush blood. And before she had time to make an escape, Bulma came running in the room on her own authority, rushing up to her. Bulma had probably bribed the nurses to get access there once again. She was always doing something like this. It didn't matter that Bulma was in the middle school section far away from the upper elementary school section Chichi was in. Bulma still managed to get involved and be there whenever something transpired with Chichi.

"Chichi! What happened?!" she asked in a panicked voice.

"Well… two boys were saying disrespectful things about my father. After I responded, one of them touched me and the other tried to punch me. I kicked their ass, ran away from the teacher, tripped over one of the boy's bodies and then I hit my face on the pole on the monkey bars." Chichi said all in one breath.

Bulma looked at her with an expression Chichi didn't understand. It was almost like one of pity. "Chichi, they may have been imbeciles but you seriously hurt them." Bulma actually sound sincere and concerned about the boys until she said almost angrily, "I had to pay their families off so they wouldn't press charges! That was this month's shopping money! When are you going to learn to let that foolish pride of yours go and act like a lady like moi! You don't defend yourself when people talk about you but you're quick to fight whenever someone mentions your father!"

"Bulma, first and foremost, you're far from a lady," Chichi laughed. Bulma stuck out her tongue in a playful gesture, hiding her faint smile brought on by Chichi's laugh. Chichi became a bit sincere though before saying, "It's my father. He's the only family member I have on this Earth. People can say what they want to say about me but I refuse to let them say anything bad about my wonderful father; especially to my face. He has saved millions of lives and has never wronged me in any way!"

Bulma almost opened her mouth to say something in response, instead she closed it and hugged a reluctant Chichi.

"Eww. Get off of me," Chici pleaded.

"Shut up, you love it," Bulma dismissed.

"No I don't. Let me go," Chichi urged, 'desperately' trying to break out of Bulma's grip.

"Yes you do… I'll let you go if you promise not to say ever again that the Ox-King is your only family. I do consider myself like your older sister whether you accept it or not."

"Well of course Bulma. Now get off!" Chichi playfully pushed her off, trying to get some of the bloody tissue on her. Thankfully, Bulma dodged just in time.

"Is that all you were about to say just a second ago?" Chichi asked as she stood up from the bed.

"Yeah….sure." Bulma quickly dismissed, diverting her eyes from Chichi. Before Chichi could question any further, Bulma grabbed her hand to rush out the door. "Let's hurry along before you miss any more of your wonderful father's presentation."

The aroma of eggs and sausage was enchanting her nostrils, beckoning her to awaken from her slumber. Almost sluggishly, her eyes opened to the dimly lit vast bedroom of hers. She used her hands to rub both of them, wiping the crust out the corners of her eyes in the process, as she sat upright within her bed. She blinked once. Then she blinked twice. Something was not right. Her mind must've been playing tricks on her early in the morning.

Chichi clapped her hands to turn on all the lights in the bedroom. Immediately, she went to go grab her baseball bat on the side of her bed. She quickly broke the end of it by slamming it on edge of the nearby nightstand to obtain a jagged, almost stake-like stick. It could no longer be called a bat. And without a moment of hesitation, Chichi dove right towards the end of her bed to stab Goku in the chest.

Once again, Chichi was too slow as she collapsed on the floor. She stood up angrily, screeching from the top of her lungs, "What in the hell are you doing in my room?!"

"Oh…. This is your room?" Goku asked as he reclined on the bed again. His face displayed a baffled one as if he was really sure this was his room. This only angered Chichi even more. In fact, her face began to flush out of anger, resembling a ripe red plum. Her knotted fists trembled at her side, as if it was itching to grab a nearby weapon.

"You know DAMN well this is my room! How many times have you sneaked in?! Just get out of here now!" she screamed.

He sat up on the bed. Bouncing up and down a little as he pouted, "But I'm hungry."

"That sounds like a personal problem!"

"No, it's my problem. Not a person Al's problem," Goku corrected, matter-of-factly.

"G-Get out now!" Chichi could barely stammer. Her rage was making it rather difficult to speak now.

"If you train with me, I'll go," Goku proposed with an optimistic grin.

"What?! NO!" Chichi furiously dismissed, "You can't bargain with ME for YOU to leave MY damn room!"

Goku's face wrinkled in confusion, "But I am. Isn't that what I'm doing right now?"

Chichi rubbed her temples out of frustration, mouthing 'Oh my Kami.' It was entirely too early to be dealing with him. She felt like she was arguing with a child. Not a 1000 or something year old Elder. At her wits end, Chichi could only coldly mutter, "I will kill you when we train."

It didn't matter how she said it. Goku hoped up off the bed excited and happy as if he had accomplished his mission.

"Okay, you can try," Goku smiled before he exited the room. She aimed a kick at his behind but he dodged it and laughed at her futile attempt. He turned around to pull the skin under his eye down and poke his tongue out.

The nerve of him! It was like he was provoking her. So it was only natural for Chichi to follow him out the door, trying to kick his ass once more. He jumped forward, avoiding her attack again.

"I can't stand you! Stay out my room dammit!" Chichi screamed, drawing the attention of the slayers walking around in the hallway. But she didn't care. What she did care about, however, was Goku nodding his head in agreement before he casually walked across the hallway to the door right across from hers. With horror, Chichi watched as Goku opened the door to enter his room.

"Are you serious?! NO, NO, NO!" she shrieked. Chichi would not have that irritating elder staying right across from her room. She absolutely refused to. Therefore, in her lavender silk pajamas, she left her room and marched over to her father's quarters; banging on the door.

"Come in," he answered.

Chichi stormed in with her arms folded, ready to scream her lungs out. "DAD! What's the meaning of this?!"

"What?" he asked a bit alarmed. He put his papers at the desk down to give her his full attention.

"Why is the elder staying across from me?!" she questioned.

"Ah…that… well, you two will be working together so I thought it'd be best if your rooms were near each other," Ox-King waved off.

"That's crazy dad! Launch and Krillin's rooms are NOWHERE near mine! If you're going to place him across from me, the least you could do is give me a reasonable answer!" She snapped.

"Well…consider it as your punishment for your inappropriate behavior at the meeting yesterday," the Ox-King calmly responded. He had gone back to looking at the papers scattered on his desk.

"Punishment! Don't feed me that father! Normally, insubordination punishment is a temporary suspension of one's title and they're usually placed alongside the new recruits who have yet to make a name for themselves," Chichi retorted.

"Do you think that right now our squadron can afford to have a high ranking slayer temporarily act alongside the recruits because she doesn't know how to conduct herself in a meeting? But instead behave as if she was some little child, throwing a tantrum," the Ox-King spat.

"When have I ever behaved like a little child father! I've always conducted myself as a mature soldier. I never even had a chance to act like a normal little child because of the way you raised me! So if you're going to punish me, punish me like an adult! Don't treat me like I'm some damn child and…"

"That's enough!" he bellowed, making Chichi shut up all of a sudden as she slightly cowered before him. He pushed his wheelchair from the desk and over to her. He stared her down with his powerful eyes as he stated, "I don't have to answer to you, daughter. You have a job as a slayer to protect the people. Right now, the question of where this elder is living is irrelevant! Now go get dressed and prepare for your next mission which will involve working alongside him."

"But…"

"Now!" the Ox-King boomed.

Chichi left the room, hurt and infuriated. Her father had never talked to her like this except recently. The stress of the vampires must be getting to him, is what Chichi told herself as she slowly walked back to her room. That was the only way to explain his irrational behavior.

Chichi had just about reached her door until Goku grabbed her elbow. She made a face of disgust, before snatching her elbow out his grip.

"What do you want?" Chichi spat.

"What did he tell you… about staying in the room?"

"What does it matter to you?! In fact, I don't get why you're going through these lengths to bother me! Leave me the hell alone unless it's during a mission or your much delayed death will be waiting." Chichi snapped back around to open the door to her bedroom to walk in.

"So…he didn't tell you the story yet," Goku bitterly chuckled.

"Excuse me?" Chichi asked. Goku waved her off before going back into his room. Frustrated beyond means now, she stormed back into her room. She plopped down in bed. Thinking about how things were starting to become more and more difficult. Suddenly her stomach growled. She sniffed the air, the delicious aroma of her breakfast brought by the cooks was still lingering.

"Well at least I can eat something to cheer me up," Chichi said a little hopeful but when she pulled the top off of the silver tray, she just about lost it. All of her food was gone and she knew exactly who the culprit was.

"GOKU! YOU VAMP BASTARD!" she screeched from the top of her lungs.

The diligent servant quickly grabbed the remote as he was instructed to increase the volume on the giant TV screen. Soon, the dynamic voice of the female news reporter resonated within the room, catching the full attention of those seated at the great timber table.

"Currently I'm at the scene of the latest vicious and gruesome murders," She said. "This neighborhood has a reputation of being one of the finest residences within the city. For that reason, this incident has really shaken the community and left the police puzzled. Reportedly, there was a party last night at the house behind me. Justin Winston was celebrating his recent graduation from high school and being accepted into a prestigious Ivy League University. His parents had decided to temporarily leave the house and the children there unsupervised to go to the nearby grocery store and purchase some more supplies. When the Winstons returned, they were shocked to discover the police cars here. Allegedly, the police had been called after one of the neighbors claimed that they heard the shrill and pleas of several teenage voices begging for help. When the police arrived, they found a total of 42 mutilated teenagers' bodies and the neighbor who had made the 9-1-1 call. Unfortunately, there were no survivors."

Muffled laughter, full with satisfaction, erupted from one of the superiors attentively watching the news report. The chief superior shot him a glance to silence him, even though he too shared a smirk of approval that sinfully twisted the corner of his mouth upwards.

They continued to listen in to the female news reporter avidly claim, "Right now, the police can find no one with the motive or the means to kill so many people in such a short amount of time. However, the only clue to what has happened is the fact that this incident and the way they were killed is much similar to the cases that are sweeping the nation; especially on the East Coast. Therefore, the President has issued a state of emergency and has told each state to administer strict curfews. There are no further leads so if anyone has any information regarding the incident here, please contact your local police department."

The assiduous servant hurriedly grabbed the remote once more to turn off the television screen. Silence came and went in the room, as the chief superior cleared his throat before he began to speak.

"From this newscast, I can see that there may be a few competent individuals among us who knows how to carry out orders. With that being said…." He glanced at the servant who became anxious under his intense stare. "Can you give me an update of the situations at hand?"

"Well s-sir…." He paused to take a quick breath in an attempt to regain his composure. He didn't want to end up like his comrade from the other day. "The location of Elder Kakkarot remains unknown to us; however, Elder Vegeta has claimed that he knows of such delicate information. Instead of informing us, he insists that he will follow your orders and capture Elder Kakkarot. He believes that telling us would cause a leak in information. The slayers would then discover that we know where he's at and that we're coming for him."

"So that monkey does have some common sense. He knows there's a traitor amongst us," the chief superior stated.

"I doubt it sire. Remember, he still called the death of the blue haired Sheila off," one of the councilmen replied.

"Yeah, that buffoon's just trying to make up for it. He shouldn't get away with it!" he spoke as if he had some vendetta against Vegeta.

"Did anyone ever figure out why that woman's house blew up? Information on the slayers could've been obtained from her place. But more importantly, it wasn't ordered by us," another more sensible councilmen chimed in.

"Maybe someone else tried to kill that wench."

"I wouldn't be surprised. She gets what she deserves. And hell, maybe someone will kill her before we get to her. She holds too much viable information pertaining to us."

The servant's presence seemed to dwindle as the six members of the council began to digress from topic. The chief superior soon became irritated with the senseless discussion, therefore he cleared his throat to bring the room back to order. He motioned his head for the apprehensive servant to continue his report.

"Umm… also… preparations for the attack of the university is coming along rather nicely. The vies are ready to be turned into vampires to become of use to you all. Fresh vampires are lively and ready to tear the esophagus out of students. And the senior vampires are awaiting orders from you all. My sources indicate that finals week is approaching, so then it would be the best time to attack to obtain the most bodies," the servant relayed.

"Everything seems favorable so far. After this meeting convene, tell them we'll attack soon. Do continue servant. How much longer until Dr. Gero's project is ready?" the chief superior questioned.

"Not much longer. Give or take a few months," the servant quickly replied.

"Absurd! Figure out how to shorten that time! It is key to our domination over this world. It is the final piece. Just imagine the power we'll have after we crush our opponents at their strongest. First we'll annihilate all the slayers and then we can feast on the human populace as we choose," the chief superior said.

"What about the Elders, Lord Frieza?" the servant came out his place to ask. He almost regretted it. However, the chief superior only smirked at first. Not angry by a question that didn't concern the fool.

"What about them?" Frieza asked, no trace of concern apparent within his voice. "They all are a bunch of monkeys, whose era is over. Once we lure the slayers there with the attack at the university, I'm sure Elder Kakkarot will be there as well. Which means that self-righteous buffoon Vegeta will follow him there before he can 'capture him.' With both of the pathetic Elders and that other person in one place, we'll be able to capture them ourselves and kill everyone else. And with this plan being important I put you, Recoome and Guldo in charge of it."

Freiza turned his head in the direction of those two councilmen seated at the great timber table. Once they made eye contact, they both nodded their head in eager acceptance of their new task.

a/n: I hope that wasn't too bad. I'm still getting into the flow of things. I'll try to update as soon as I can. It's a damn shame I don't have a beta anymore ;_; …. Umm….anyways, I hope you all have paid attention. I leaked a few clues here and there! Also the council's identity was revealed. But you intelligent readers had already figured out. Well… I think that's all I have to say except I'm sorry it wasn't as long as I normally do. Until next time! :D Love yall!

p.s—You're gonna love the next few chapters. :D That's all I'm going to say.
