It was impossible for Merida to sober up, so the two headed back into the castle, only to see that everyone had went to bed. There were a few of Merida's family laying on the ground asleep, but they just stepped over them and headed to Merida's room. They made their way down the long halls. Hiccup got lost twice while on his way and he made a mental note not to leave the room alone. Merida fumbled with the door, but soon got her key in the lock. She smiled at Hiccup and ran into the room. Hiccup sighed as he sat on the edge of the bed and watched Merida disappear behind a door. He shrugged out of the green shirt and stripped down to the kilt that was wrapped around his waist and across his shoulder. A pitcher of frothing ale sat on the night stand with two cups. Hiccup took one, and poured himself a drink. The burning liquid flowed down his throat and his head started to swim. He poured himself two more cups, and downed them both. Hiccup felt hot, even in what little he had on. His face was flushed and his hair stuck to his face.

The door opened and Hiccup turned to see Merida standing there in a little white lace dress that barely reached the bottom of her rump. Her creamy skin was shining in the candle light, and a sloppy grin was plastered on her face. Her freckles blurred by the blush that crept from her cheeks down her neck. She sauntered over to Hiccup and pushed him back on the bed. Hiccups heart pounded in his chest as Merida climbed on top of him. He gulped as he felt an odd pull in his stomach and he could feel the kilt rise a little. He bit his lip as Merida carefully placed kisses along his neck and exposed shoulder. Merida nipped at the softest spot on his shoulder which drew a throaty growl from Hiccup. Merida smiled against his neck and made her way to his lips with a passion neither one of them had experienced before. They melted together as the kiss became more intimate. Hiccups hands roamed her body, exploring every curve. Merida's nails raked across his chest lightly and Hiccup flipped Merida onto her back. He pinned her hands above her head and captured her lips under his. He made his way down her neck and nipped lightly at her collarbone. Merida mewled and arched her back in anticipation.
"Mmm… Hiccup." Merida moaned lightly. Hiccup blinked his eyes and suddenly, what they were doing was hitting him. He sat straight up and Merida gave him a confused look.
"Wha's wrong?"
"I just… I want our first time to be special. Not, Hiccup waved his hands around, "this."
"What's wrong with this?" Merida said confused.
"I love you. You know that. And yes, I'll admit that this seems like a good idea, but I want you to be absolutely sure that this is what you want, so soon. I don't want you to regret it in the morning."
"Oh Hiccup…" Merida smiled at Hiccup and rolled over in the bed. She patted the spot next to her after she had pulled up the blankets. Hiccup crawled over and lay on his back. Merida snuggled into his side, and within minutes she was snoring, leaving a puddle of drool by Hiccups armpit. Hiccup smiled and shook his head, watching her snore and smack her lips.

The next morning Hiccup gently removed himself from under Merida and replaced his chest with a pillow. Merida groaned and pulled the pillow over her head as a stray beam of light made its way across her face.
"Why is et so bright?"
"Because it's morning."
"But why does et have ta be so bright?" Merida moaned as she sat up a little too quickly, causing her head to hurt. Hiccup shook his head and got her a glass of water mixed with a small amount of ale.
"This should help, it's what my dad did when he had too much ale." Merida smiled gratefully at him and gulped down the concoction. Hiccup made her another cup and she sipped from that as they got dressed for the day. They were going to teach the boys more about their dragons, and maybe take Bonnie back into the woods and see if she leads them to any other dragons. Hiccup came out wearing a thick leather vest over a short sleeved forest green shirt, tanned hide pants. Merida went into the room and came out in hide pants, and a dark blue shirt. Her hair was tied back into a braid and she wore a small chain crown with a golden pendant hanging at her third eye around her head. Hiccup smiled, bur frowned when he was what was in her hands. She was holding a thin golden crown with spiraling dragons cut into it.
"Do I really have to wear that?"
"According ta the laws of this kingdom, yah dae. You're officially a prince now, and as the oldest in the immediate family, yer first in line fer the throne if something happens ta mah dad." Hiccup swore under his breath as he carefully too the crown from Merida's hands. She nodded her head with a knowing smile gracing her lips as she saw Hiccups look of distain at the accessory on his head.
"Yah don' have ta bring et home with us." Merida offered hopefully. Hiccup thought about this for a second.
"I still don't like it. It's too much." Merida smiled and approached her husband, placing a gentle hand on his chest.
"A know, but et'll be over soon." She placed a soft kiss on his cheek and walked out of the door. Hiccup's eyes widened and he quickly ran out of the room, grabbing his fur cape before he left.

The morning was uneventful. Hiccup and Merida's plans were shot down when Elinor told them that they were going to be walking around the kingdom, announcing and introducing Hiccup to the people. It was the most boring thing either of them had ever done. Val got a kick out of it though. She couldn't stop smiling, and played with all the children. Hiccup couldn't help but wish that Stoick could have been there to share this moment with them. He would have been proud. He would have been right there with Val, throwing the kids into the air, laughing with his new family. But the bitter sting in his chest was all the reminder he needed that Stoick would never be here, never enjoy this. He choked down the lump in his throat and fake a smile for the people around him. Half way through the mini parade, Fergus looked around wide eyed.
"Elinor!" He whispered harshly, keeping a tense smile on his face. "A think we lost the boys!"
"Fergus, we didn' bring the boys so we wouldn't lose them." Elinor said through her teeth, a well-practiced skill Hiccup assumed, as she waved and smiled to the people she passed.
"Oh, go us. We're such good parents. Who's watching them?"
"Well, Maudie needed a break and those twins offered ta watch them, so A had them do et." Hiccup and Merida's heads whipped around in wide eyed terror.
"Mum, what did yah dae?"
**Meanwhile at the Castle**

Maudie ran out of the kitchen, flames licking at the back of her dress from the door. Screaming, she made her way a safe distance before three ash covered little boys ran out followed by two laughing adults, also covered in ash.

"You! You- Just wait until yer parents come home!" Maudid hobbled quickly through the halls muttering to herself.

"Yeah!" The twins knocked heads. "That was awesome you guys!" Tuffnut yelled to the empty hall. "Guys? Guys! Uhh… Ruff… we lost the kids."
"What do you mean we lost the kids they're right…. Oh." Ruffnut said as she looked down to where the boy's level. The duo ran off down the hallway, trying to find the three boys. They opened barrels, moved boxes, opened every door they could find, but the boys were nowhere to be found.
"Fuck." Ruff said as she rounded a corner and stopped. Tuff ran into her back, and then peered around her when he collected himself. Standing in front of them was a Young MaGuffin, with three boys crawling around him, leaving black marks along his body.
"Are they yours?" He said, surprisingly comprehensible, as he flashed Ruff a smile.
"Yes. I mean, no. I mean, I'm, we're in charge of them, but they're not mine." Ruff stumbled through her words and shyly looked up at the young man. Last night Ruff saw a different side of him. He was sweet and caring, and when he wasn't nervous he could talk circles around anyone. He was very smart, and very well-articulated. Tuffnut looked back and forth between the two and shook his head.
He plucked the boys off of him, threw two under his arms like sacks of flour, and one on his back.
"I'll take these." And he started down the hall. Ruff started after him but he turned around and stopped her. He looked at her then sternly at him, his eyes bulging, head shaking a little with stress, then back to her. "Stay." With that, Tuffnut Thorston had intervened in his sister's love life, and, hopefully, it would work out.

When they got back, they had pretty much ran up the path to the castle. They were relieved to see that the stone walls were still standing, and were more than relieved to see the triplets playing with their dragons under the supervision of Tuffnut.
"Where's Ruff?" Hiccup asked, puzzled at the absence of the ever present female.
"She's somewhere with that big guy. Mcstuffin? I don't know. But they boys have been fun." Hiccup nodded and grabbed Merida's hand. He pulled her into the stables, and patted Toothless.
"Hey bud." Toothless let out a groan and smiled at Hiccup. Merida smiled as she stroked the whiskers hanging off of Bonnie's chin. Bonnie ruffled her feathers in response and purred.
"So hon, what do you say? How about we check out the woods? See if Bonnie leads us to more dragons?"
"Actually, A was thinkin', maybe we leave the dragons here alone. A know that in Berk dragons are friends, but A don' think dragons here would help anythin'. In Berk, we have you, the Dragon Whisperer. But here, there's no one. Yah can't make trips every day back and forth between homes. A couldn't dae that. And A wanna start a family. A can't dae that without you Hiccup. That's impossible ta dae." Hiccup silenced her with a soft kiss. He wrapped her tightly in his arms and sighed into her hair.
"Mer, you don't have to worry. I'll never do anything you don't want me to do. Unless I have to." Merida giggled and sighed into her husband's chest.
"A love you Hiccup Haddock."
"I love you too Merida Haddock."
