Hello everyone, you must get tired of hearing me say sorry all the time that's because I am, I've dearly missed writing my stories, I've had a lot come up that has torn me from it, sadly, but I will not bore you with the details.

I will try and keep up my writing and not let my posting chapters get too far apart. I will also try to do more updates in my "Author's Notes" so you guys know what's going on besides it will also give me a chance for my readers to get to know me and perhaps a chance for me to get to know my readers, you guys. I recommend you to follow my ''story'' called Author's Notes but that's your choice of course.

I don't own any of the original plots/storyline or characters just my own twists and characters which is the main character; Manami and other characters; Kazuya, Masao, Yoshio, Akito, Akemi, Isamu Kurohoshi, Hiroto, and guess who the new character is guys?!

If you guessed the character who bailed out Manami from being used from the Elemental Demon Clan or the one that I mentioned a certain OC that the awesome fanfic writer (AnimeBunnyLover) wrote up... Then you are right!

I won't tell what is or her strengths cause you'll find that out in due time as the story progresses and before anyone jumps down my throat about pairings for the lovely Akuma, I'm sorry but Akuma is already all paired up.

Chapter 10: A New Friendship?

Manami's view:

I stood up and looked around me, I looked to where our old den was and walked towards it, this was our home, but we had another den between mother's tribe and father's clan, if I couldn't find what I needed here, I'd go there. I went into the den the fire pit had ash still there, the smell of my parents still hung in the air, I sighed softly as I closed my eyes and took in their scents, memories of us laughing and playing together came to me. Feeling tears again I opened my eyes "I swear I will find you" I said, I went to the back of the den to my parent's cave first "Momma? Pap?" I called out with the faint hope that they could be here, but I got no response. I waved the pelt out of the way seeing their cave as I last remembered it, I sighed and went out then went to my cave waving my pelt out of the way, there were new additions in my cave, two chests and weapons rack fully stocked. I ran over to the chests kneeling in front of them and opened both of them to see one full of wolf demon attire and the other of demon slayer attire; I sat back on my legs in slight disappointment. "Thank you for the gifts Momma and Papa, but I would have preferred you here," I said softly, I sighed as I reclaimed myself "I'll wear them with pride and honour our family," I said.

I looked through the chests, sifting through the outfits, deciding which one I would wear, at the bottom of the chest I assumed was given to me by Papa, had a light armour and was in between a demon slayer outfit and a samurai outfit design. My eyes narrowed as they darted to the other chest of wolf demon attire, I picked out a slim fitting black slayer suit that was almost like ninja clothing, in then grabbed out the slayer crossed samurai armour all from my slayer's chest then laid them aside. I turned my attention back to the demon attire grabbing out the black fur bands for my legs, arms and hair, I placed them with the other clothes I laid out, "I may be a demon, but for now, I'll be known as a slayer, no one will stop me on my mission" I said softly in determination. I closed the chests and started to strip off my attire and get changed into my new attire; I stretched the bands a little to attached them over my attire. For my hair I roll my hair into a bun tying it up as well as tucking my side fringes in with the rest of my hair, I placed my old attire away and then looked over to weapons wrack seeing a masked like a helmet on hanging up with the weapons.

In the shape of a wolf mask but was black with silver and red detail, the only thing that would be visible is the wearer's eyes, my eyes darted to the weapons rack, I went over and grabbed a couple of daggers tucking them at my back of my waistband. I then grabbed a Katana and a Wakizashi I placed them at my left hip, I grabbed a couple of kunai, some shrunken and smoke bombs just in case and placed them in the pockets of my attire. I then looked over to the masked helm and grabbed it "Everyone says wolves hunt to kill, how ironic that I should be a wolf and a slayer" I muttered as I gazed at the masked helm then sighed heavily. "No matter what dangers lie ahead my background will only make me stronger for what is to come," I said then placed on the masked helm, just before I went to walk out I looked back at the spear section of my weapons wrack, then walked over grabbing the Yari spear. I gripped the Yari tightly then tapped it to the ground "Alright evildoers, your reign is over, this slayer is going to be your undoing" I said confidently with a slight smile. I then ran out of my cave, the den and raced through the clearing to the hidden door; I opened the door up with the method my father taught me then walked out and waited for the door to close.

Once the door closed I raced out of the tunnel and to the hut, making sure everything was closed behind me, I looked back to the hut once I was out, I took in the scene of my home, as I placed my Yari to the ground. I exhaled softly then turned on my heel looking to the sky, I closed my eyes and tried using my instincts, I snapped my eyes open feeling a pull in the north, north-east direction, I pushed off from the ground into a sprint. So many things raced through my mind; my family, Mother's tribe, Father's clan, my friends, Naraku and the elemental demon clan, my brows knitted together as I lightly shook my head shaking off my thoughts. "I must remai-" I started to say when a burst of flames tore into the forest line and up into the sky up head "Eh?" I puffed in awe as I looked to the flames now become smoke "What the-? I need to check this out" I muttered then raced off heading for the flames. The forest soon came to an end and there before my eyes was a person in a hooded cloak, "Wait… that smell" I muttered and closed my eyes taking the scent in, my eyes soon snapped open as I figured out where I'd smelt it before.

I scanned the area around us, there were countless bodies laid scorched on the ground in the clearing, my eyes darted immediately back to the mystery woman "Hey fancy seeing you again so soon" I said aloud she turned around shooting out some fire from her hands I jump to the side to avoid it. "Hey! Relax it's me! I'm the half-wolf you saved from that elemental clan!" I exclaimed, she relaxed "What are you doing here? Wasn't I clear last time?" she said "Perfectly" I replied giving a nod of my head. "So what are you doing here?" she questioned "Well I've just found out who I am and I was on my way elsewhere until I saw some flames, which I assume is your doing" I replied I couldn't see her face still, but I could feel her piercing gaze. "My names Kurohoshi, Manami Kurohoshi, I'm half wolf demon and half demon slayer," I said she turned around and was going to start walking when she stopped, my senses were on edge, something wasn't right. My instincts told me to run, but I couldn't run when I owed this demoness my life, groaning sounds echoed out, making the woman and I look to the corpses, they were all starting to rise up. "These guys don't seem to want to give up do they?" I questioned "Leave, this doesn't concern you," she said "Too bad, I owe you, so stop shutting me down and just accept my help cause it looks like your gonna need it," I said.

I looked to the woman, her gaze held up still, I puffed a sighing groan and looked away as I ran towards the corpses, I spun my spear around dodge weak hits while throwing some hits to others with the dull end and cutting into others. I took a ten down in no time, but they instantly started to mend together and get back up again "What the hell?" I puffed in awe "They keep reviving" the woman said I looked over, she wasn't too far off, and all the ones she killed were getting back up too. "A demon of some sort has to be behind this, we need to find it and kill it" I said "Agreed, in that case-" she started as she looked to me "Watch out!" she shouted as she flung out an icicle, I turned around to see it hit a corpse behind me that was about to strike me down. I flung my spear out, swinging at him, hitting his stomach as he crouched over I twirled the spear in my right hand with the tip now facing down at the corpse and ran him through. As I pulled my spear out I kicked the corpse away and looked back to the demoness "Thanks" I said, "Don't mention it, names Yuki, Akuma Yuki" she said I gave an awed look. "If we're working together a name is the least I can give you, so I know your speaking to me if you're in trouble," she said I puffed a laugh as I smiled "Sure, but right now we're both in trouble," I said.

I lightly tossed my spear into the air as I adjusted the way I held it then threw it towards a corpse behind her, she twirled around and grabbing my spear with one hand and kicked the corpse away as she leapt towards me. "Take the spear and use it in case some get too close, I'll use my blades," I said as I unsheathed my katana and wakizashi "What we need to do is get out of here," Akuma said as we stood back to back, seeing corpses surrounding us from all sides. "We need to pinpoint where these corpses are being controlled; anything sticks out to you?" I said as I eyed our enemies moves "I'll get some friends to find out for me" Akuma said "Friends?" I questioned. Corpses from my side started to charge "Akuma go get your friends; I'll hold them off just try to hurry" I said as I raced towards the corpses, I slashed at the corpses cutting, slicing and stabbing them all over. Nothing was working I glanced over seeing Akuma make her way out of the corpses and race into the forest, my brows furrowed together "I'm counting you on Akuma" I muttered then gritted my teeth as I flung myself back into the heat of battle.

I continued you fight corpse after corpse, slashing my blades through one after another, I leapt into the air and ran along their backs, heads, shoulders anything I could step on to so I could catch those trying to leave the area. I had to make sure they stayed here till Akuma got back, I had to have faith that she would come back to help me, as minutes started to fly by I was starting to get more tired, I panted feeling a new form of exhausting fill my body. I leapt away from the battle to catch my breath if only for a second, as I looked at the horde of corpses rushing towards me, I felt a pulse in my body, I had never felt like this before. Suddenly an overwhelming power came over me, as a blood thirst lust to kill had jolted through my body, I started to move without a thought, I felt no longer in control of my own body. My blades twirling around as I battled with the corpses, I felt so much stronger, I longer felt any weakness, I was fast and able to keep the corpses in one place easily but how much longer could I seriously do this for? With my new found strength and speed, my body kept fighting.

No-ones POV with Akuma.

Akuma was racing at full speed back to Manami; she could have easily matched Koga's speed, the information from Akuma's friends had confirmed their suspicions. Indeed there was a demon controlling the corpses. Though the demon had to be nearby to control the copses meaning that Manami was in danger, Akuma wanted to keep her distance from others to avoid them and herself from being hurt though she couldn't leave Manami there alone. Besides the fact that she promised to return and help her take down the demon, her kindness was her weakness, and he rage was her strength, Akuma gripped Manami's Yari spear tightly in her hand. She raced against time to get to Manami before the demon could make her move, Akuma found out the demon controlling the dead is a forest demon and had recently moved to the forests around here in the last few years. The demon's goal was to collect more power by using the dead to swarm the living, once the corpses life forcefully merged to the demons' she would let their corpses fall back to being limp until another took its place. Akuma was literally in a race against time; soon the clearing came into view as it did she stopped seeing the horde of corpses but it was not the corpses that made her stop and stare, it was Manami, she was different. Manami's looked the same apart from her eyes, her aqua orbs had now turned ruby red, her scent had not changed but her aura was much stronger now than before, Akuma knew instantaneously, Manami's inner demon was in control.

Manami's view:

I sensed something coming my way on my left and moved quickly to the right a step as I glanced to what it was, I had jolted to a stop before swinging my blades letting my wakizashi land in front of Akuma. I was fighting for control, "You did good, I found out who's in control, so I need you to snap out of it" Akuma said I turned around slashing at corpses coming at me from behind while still fighting for control. I could hear Akuma fighting behind me; tears started to fill my crimson orbs as I tried to mentally force my inner demon back into the shadows so I could regain control, I needed my control, so I searched my memories desperately for some help, while my inner demon fought. As I searched my memories my mother's voice rung out "Remember pup, your inner demon is dangerous, but it's only there to help you when you need it" mother's voice "How do I become me again?" my voice as a child. "You are always you, find the will, everyone has something worth protecting and living for, let that be your reason to change back" mother's voice, memories of my parents, brother, Hiroto, and my new friends crossed my mind. I'll live for you all as I found my resolve my eyes shut tight and once they were snapped open I was now back in control, I slashed my blades across some of the corpses and leapt back towards Akuma to hear what news she had.
