Chapter 10

Time seemed to slow down for our young Ash Ketchum. He hadn't been able to register what had happened before he passed out, but everything suddenly went black.

It was now the time Ash was slowly coming back to his senses. He had heard the sound of voices nearby, and soon enough his eyes began to flutter open.

…

The moment he opened his eyes, he was greeted with a lot of discomfort in his back. He was apparently lying on some sort of hard floor, and that didn't exactly do his back too good.

He sat his entire body up and took a good look at the room he was in. It was small, and didn't feel too homey. But then it hit him. He was in a prison cell.

Ash immediately panicked, and ran straight to the bars of his cell, hands clutched at the steel rails.

'No, this couldn't be happening!' He thought. He failed his first mission, and he was that close too!

Gosh, what would happen now?

Ash took a good look around the hallway that contained each of the cells. By the looks of it, there were a good amount of criminals judging by each cell almost being occupied. And in those cells, Ash received some pretty disturbing looks.

In response, the boy just sighed and flopped himself down on the bottom bunk of the bunk bed in his room.

It wasn't exactly what you would call comfortable, but it decent enough to make you fall asleep.

To stall his worries further, Ash fell asleep.

…

Ash abruptly woke up to the sound of clinging of metal. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, Ash took a look up to find a police officer knocking on his cell with a baton.

"Mr. Ketchum, you have a visitor," The cop said, almost with no emotion. In a way, Ash could sense disgust.

But then that brought him to his next thought. Who on earth could be visiting him? More importantly, who would want to visit him?

His thoughts were put aside once he saw a figure approach his cell block.

Once the figure had stopped completely, now face to face with Ash.

The boy had tried to identify who it could be, but was unable to. The person had been wearing all black, with dark sunglasses.

"Um…can I help you?" Ash asked.

"Ash, it's me."

"…Domino? What are you doing here?!" Ash exclaimed, recognizing the voice.

"Shh! Keep it down! I'm here to bust you out," She whispered.

"How?" He whispered back.

Domino looked around to make sure nobody had been watching, and secretly handed him a small gadget.

"Thanks," He mouthed to Domino, to which she nodded.

"Don't thank me. Just doing my job. Now I'll meet you on the other side, I have a jet waiting on us to take us home.

Right after that statement, Domino had walked away and left Ash to do his business.

…

Raising the small gadget he was given, Ash flicked it on, making it reveal a sharp, light colored red beam.

Moving closer to the wall in the back of his room, Ash began to trace a circle into the surface, before stopping once his circle had been completed.

Lastly, Ash kicked down the surface, now revealing a large hole in the wall, to which the prisoners all now noticed.

"Hey kid! Take me with you!" One of the prisoners shouted.

"Yeah, bust us out!" Another shouted, followed by almost everyone agreeing.

In response, Ash took a look back, and shot all of them all the nastiest look. His eyes flickered from his normal chocolate colored eyes to light, sapphire colored ones, making all of the prisoners look away in fear.

Being satisfied with himself, Ash chuckled and walked through the gap in the wall.

…

Once escaping the prison, and getting past the entrance, Ash had seen a large jet. One that was much larger than the one he rode in for his first mission.

Changing his walk into a run, Ash sprinted towards the jet, and hopped in once he got close enough.

"I see your escape went well," A voice said, coming from the pilot seat.

It was Paine. Another one of the Rocket Elites like Domino.

"Sure did," Ash replied.

"Well, glad to have you back," Domino said.

"Thanks, Dom," Ash grinned.

"But one thing Ash?"

"Yes Domino?"

"Be more careful next time."

"…"

…

Boy the police were in for a big surprise back at the station. Once Ash was long gone with his escape, they had gone to check up on each of the cells to find one of them with a gigantic hole in the wall, and they immediately knew who it belonged to.

But the police knew who Ash was and what he looked like. And now knew he worked for Team Rocket because of the uniform he had been wearing.

Right after, the police had gotten right back to their jobs, starting up a restless search to find the boy, as well as dialing the Maples to let them know what happened as soon as possible.

…

"WHAT?!" Norman screamed on the phone. He had just received a call from the police saying that Ash had been arrested, but had just escaped.

Norman couldn't believe it, but demanded that the police find him right away.

All the screaming had of course attracted the rest of his family, and they all asked what was wrong.

Once telling them, Caroline had been as disappointed, yet disgusted that Ash would do such a thing to end up in prison.

That was the point the parents had lost respect for the boy. They weren't necessarily angry at him, but more…disappointed.

Max on the other hand was shocked, yet agreed with his parents that they should have nothing to do with him anymore. I mean, who would want to be in the same household as a criminal?

But May, on the other hand. You could say she took this the hardest of them all. Not that any of them took it hard, of course.

She was wide eyed after hearing the news, and went straight to her room, unable to believe any of it. She had only seen Ash recently. When he stopped to see just her, but refused to tell her what he was up to.

But she didn't know that that was going to be one of the last times he would see her.

…

Just now, the Rocket Jet containing Domino, Paine, and Ash had just landed. The trio had walked back inside, and Domino/Ash reported to Giovanni's office, while Paine retreated to do his own duties.

Once arriving back to Giovanni's office, Domino opened the door, to which Giovanni spun his chair around and said. "Oh…so I see you two are back?"

"Yep. You heard your son ended up in jail?" Domino asked.

"Yes, I heard it all. First mission didn't go well son?"

Ash just looked down, ashamed, and mumbled. "I'm sorry…dad."

"It's okay son. It was your first mission after all. You must not have been ready for it yet."

Ash nodded in understanding, and Giovanni continued. "Just remember to be careful next time. If you cannot steal what you're supposed to, it's better to just abandon it and get the hell out of there. The worst that can happen to us is if one of the Rockets end up in prison…that would affect us all in so many ways."

Nodding again, Ash spoke. "I understand, dad. I promise I won't fail the next mission!"

Giovanni chuckled. "Good. Now go get some training, I'll have Domino keep an eye on you."

Obeying with the boss' request, Domino led Ash over to the training room.
