Part Two!
Disclaimer: LoK still isn't mine.
Mako was standing by the punch bowl, making sure no one (the twins) slipped anything into the beverage. He remembered all too vividly the last party Varrick threw. Those two children got everyone drunk when they slipped vodka into the punch. Not this time though. No way. If they try anything, BAM! Out with the handcuffs. He should think of an awesome catchphrase while he waits.
His brainstorming was cut short when a skittish-looking prince ran into him. The force of the impact nearly toppled the punch bowl. "What the—Wu? What are you doing?" Mako exclaimed, holding the prince at arm's length.
"Mako, your grandmother has scarred me for life!" Wu declared, throwing his head back in a dramatic flair. "I asked her to dance because, you know, she looked lonely, and she was crying! Crying! What kind of a prince would I be if I didn't make sure my subjects were healthy and prosperous? So I went over to cheer her up and, well…she said thing."
Mako sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "What did she say that scarred you so much?" he asked, sarcasm evident in his voice.
"She…she talked about…" the prince looked around, making sure no one was listening before turning back to the fire bender. Wu raised his eyebrows seductively as he announced "Getting down to business."
"What?" Mako asked, quirking an eyebrow.
"You know!" Wu exclaimed. "Doing the do!" Mako still didn't seem to get it. "Playing house? Eating the sausage? Completing the puzzle? For spirits' sakes, Mako, she was talking about sex!"
Mako visibly recoiled. "What?" he demanded. "You're talking about my grandma? The frail old woman standing alone in a corner? She was talking about sex?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes! Mako, I feel so scandalized! I'll never be able to look at her the same!" Wu complained. "A woman so pure and frail, contaminated by acts of affection. How will I ever-"
Mako rolled his eyes as the prince babbled on. However, the "contaminated by acts of affection" did catch his attention. Mako smirked, knowing the young prince didn't expect what was coming next.
"And another thing, old people are never young! They're always-" Wu was cut off by Mako's lips. He was pleasantly surprised when the fire bender's lips weren't warm. Wu let his eyes flutter shut, and he threw his arms over Mako's shoulders, popping out his leg.
Across the room, the Beifong twins walked sullenly over to Yin, their heads hung low. They had watched the kiss and the couple's migration to the dance floor. Now they had no choice but to concede to the older woman. "Pay up, pansies," Yin exclaimed, practically howling with laughter. "I told you my Mako couldn't resist the sweet charms of the precious prince!"
The twins sighed in union, reaching into their pocket and pulling out sacks of money. Wei turned to his brother, muttering "I thought old ladies didn't gamble."
Yin furrowed her brows, snatching the money from both boys. Snappily she replied "They don't. With all our life experience, we make investments."
Yin sauntered away, ready to rub the money in Chow's face.
There you have it. Feel free to review.
Loves and hugs, minions!
