I spent a lot of time with Lissa over the next few weeks, between work and her rehab sessions Dimitri and I didn't see each other a lot. But when we did, boy did we make the moments count! I enjoyed living with him and the boys, they brought more joy and humor into my life than I thought possible. I haven't seen Adrian since our confrontation, but of course there is always a rumor mill going around and the rumors shocked me to my core. Gone has the playboy Adrian I used to know and in place a domesticated man. I suppose what he was saying about Sydney had some truth to it, she really was trying to change him.

I wasn't entirely sure how to feel about it, there was certainly a kick to the gut somewhere in there about me not being worth the change.

However after a week I came to the conclusion that it was not my problem anymore, and with each passion filled kiss that Dimitri gave me the less I thought about it.

Going to Lissa's rehab sessions nearly killed me as much as it did her, the accident left her needing to re-learn how to walk again and each time she cried out in agony I wanted to yell at them to stop. But I knew it wasn't my place and all I could do was hold her hand and wipe her tears. Christian went sometimes to give me a break but I knew it possibly killed him even more to see her in such pain. She was making fantastic progress and in another four weeks I'm sure she will be well on her way to fully healed.

Dimitri hadn't heard from Tasha since our less than delightful encounter with her on her first real date, and I was thankful for that.

"Oi, Rose, check the mail will ya, I'm expecting a less than innocent package from a less than innocent babe." Mason yelled.

'Go get your own filthy mail you pervert!" I screamed back.

I was in the middle of putting on my uniform for work, Dimitri had worked the nightshift and he was sleeping peacefully in his room. He shuffled a little bit after I'd yelled through the door.

I heard the door slam and then footsteps;

"Oi Rose, get out here. You have a package." Mason said more quietly in respect of Dimitri sleeping and the death glare I'd given him.

It was a brown parcel, I flipped the back but there was no return-sender, it was left blank.

Mason hadn't paid any attention as he flipped through the envelopes, obviously deflated that he hadn't received what he wanted.

The curiosity got the best of me and I went into my room to open the package. As I ripped the edges off, my stomach started to become more uneasy. I squealed as I saw what was inside: Inside were strange Polaroid photos with bloodstains and letters on the back. It looks like all the pieces have to be put together in order to find what the message is. What creepy piece of shit would send this!

I arranged the photos the best I could so that the letters would form, I don't know what made me do it. I should have put it down and not risk messing with any possible finger prints.

I finally re-arranged the back of the photos and the message was well received:

E

E

And of course the last photograph upon closer inspection was a withered Rose with blood splotches.

It was quite clear who it was from, my heart started to pound. And then the internal debate began: Should I tell Dimitri? What the hell would I tell Dimitri? He'd go off in a rage and try to track her down which is no doubt what she wants. I could contact the police and get them to look over the package, however I knew she was delusional enough to put this package together with gloves, and the letters on the back of the photos weren't handwritten.

Why now? It had been a few weeks since we'd seen her, what had ticked her off so much to send this package now?

I shoved the package under my bed and chose to ignore it for the time being, I had a shift to get to.

Work had been a lot of the same lately; I only really enjoyed my shifts when I was working alongside Dimitri. We worked brilliantly as a team; we managed to keep our affections at work under the wraps. A few stolen kisses in the store rooms, the nurses would always flirt with Dimitri but I never worried. He treated them professionally and I think they were finally starting to get the picture that he wasn't available.

We hadn't made our relationship official, he respected that my main focus had been Lissa these past few weeks. I was offered a position in the Emergency Department after helping out through the multiple collision tragedy, but I politely turned it down. I would have loved to work there, but I feared that whenever I saw those doors open I'd see a mess of blonde hair and the memories would be too much.

I couldn't keep my thoughts off the brown package that had arrived, what if someone else had opened it? It was addressed to me but that hadn't stopped Mason from opening my mail before.

Once my shift ended I was excited to get home and see Dimitri, he had the night off and I was hoping to spend some quality time with him. As I walked in the door I noticed everything was quiet, no lights were on. Mason and Eddie were always out at this time doing shifts at the pub, but I expected some noise since Dimitri was home.

My heart started to pound as paranoia set in, was Tasha here? Had she bound up Dimitri somewhere so that she could 'Off' me?

I put my bag down and braced myself, as I walked into the living room I could swear that I heard muffled voices.

I picked up the closest weapon to me, a vase. What damage could a vase do may you ask? Pretty sure a lot when you smash it in someone's face.

I walked into the lounge and all of a sudden all the lights came on and people jumped up and screamed;

"SURPRIISE'

I screamed and before I could stop myself lunged the vase at the closest person I could see, which was unfortunately/fortunately Mason.

"OW- SON OF A B-" Mason screamed like a girl.

Today was my birthday and everyone had apparently planned a surprise birthday for me.

My heart was still going a thousand miles an hour but I smiled with delight and laughed at Mason rubbing the spot on his stomach I had launched the vase which then shattered at his feet.

"Happy Birthday Rose!" Lissa screamed on her crutches.

"Oh my god you guys, you scared the hell out of me!" I said while trying to pick up the bigger pieces of the smashed vase.

Eddie was in the corner clutching his stomach and laughing at what had happened, I looked around the room and saw familiar faces. A few people I had grown close to at the hospital and even some of Dimitri's friends, I saw a number of hot girls here that I had never met which I automatically linked the Mason. Too bad I just ruined his chances of getting laid by throwing a vase at him and him screaming like the little bitch I know he is.

I didn't see anyone from my family there, but that wasn't a surprise to me since Lissa knew how I felt about my mum, which was really the only person I had semi-contact with in the family.

Christian had cooked a feast and the smell was amazing, turns out my senses actually aren't all that great when dying from fear.

Dimitri had a huge grin on his face as I hugged him and thanked him for such an amazing surprise.

"A vase Rose? What were you expecting?" He had a look of concern on his face.

'Oh no one really, and hey, Vases are totally a good weapon." He snickered;

"Lissa organized all of it; did you really think you could get away with not celebrating your birthday?" He said with a smirk.

'Well…having dinner with you would have suited me fine. But this is amazing, thank you." I said while giving him a kiss.

"Ew Rose, Do you gotta do that now? And what about me? You almost killed me with a damn vase." Mason pouted.

'Your hair frightened me, it was the first thing I saw so I launched." I chuckled.

He walked away grumbling about dangerous roommates and my heart twinged at the thought of Tasha again.

I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't think about it tonight and that I'd just enjoy everyone's company.

I ate so much food and unwrapped all of my presents, I happened to notice that Dimitri hadn't included one in the pile. But I had a feeling that it was going to come later, and that it would be the best one yet. I noticed a brown package amongst the gifts and my eyes widened and i pointed to it;

"Who is that one from?" I asked no one in particular.

"It doesn't say who it's from, just your name." Eddie replied.

"Did you see anyone put it down?" I asked again trying to not sound scared.

"No...it was just kind of there." Eddie replied with a suspicious glance.

She has been here, either that or she has an accomplice and the thought of one of my friends going along with this terrified me.

Holy doodle it's been a long time since i updated this!

Leave your comments and let me know what you think is inside the second package!
