Oh hey, I neglected this story for some time as well. Well...here's another drabble.

I've had this on my mind for quite some time

Enjoy!

Fall

The rain pounded down on the sidewalks, soaking them and creating deep puddles. For the most part, the streets were empty. Only the cars and buses zoomed along, and the occasional pedestrian hurrying under an umbrella, or splashing along the puddles in rain boots.

But, one individual was unlike the rest. They walked purposely down the street, not minding that the water pelted him mercilessly along his face, and soaking his exposed t-shirt and jeans. His leather trench coat flowed behind him in the wind, as his silver hair began to hang in his piercing dark brown eyes, more so than usual. Droplets of water fell from those thick locks, streaming down his face like tiny rivers. His shoes soaked to the core.

Despite this, the man walked on, not bothering to try and shield himself from the imposing rain, or hide in a building, hoping it would let up.

He clucked his tongue, according to the picture and map in his hosts mind, he should be at his destination soon. But he wasn't seeing his landmark. Which was beginning to frustrate him. Didn't she know he was on a tight schedule? He didn't have time to chase her down,

"Calm yourself, she'll come. She always does" he consoled himself.

After rounding a corner, he finally saw what he had been seeking. A young girl stood next to a street sign, her eyes looking across the street. Much like him, the girl didn't even bother to cover herself from the rain. She merely wore a worn down black-shirt and rivers ran from the ends of her sleeves and down her thin pale arms. Her usual messy hair hung limply along her face, and her glasses looked just like the windows on the buildings.

"I thought we would meet at the other corner." the young man said, his voice chilled her to the bone, and she had to resist in shivering. As if the weather wasn't enough, he had to drain any warmth from her.

"Sorry, my misunderstanding." she said in a mumble, refusing to look up into his eyes.

"Did you do as I ask?"

She didn't answer and he gave a soft growl, "Kim." he said warningly and expectantly, he saw the hesitation in her stance, and she swallowed.

"No, I haven't yet." she admitted. Her firm stance was beginning to waver as she feared for his reaction.

"Hmph, how disappointing. You better have a good reason, like you were on your death bed for the past week."

Both knew that she hadn't been. Through his hosts eyes, he had seen her at school, and she had looked quite healthy to him. And she looked quite healthy still.

"I don't know if I can do it Bakura." now, she turned her head, willing herself to look up into his brown eyes. They were so dark that his pupils could barely be seen. And at the moment, they looked quiet deadly as he frowned at her for her statement.

"Well, I don't know if I can continue to not harm Ryou." he replied, making her cringe.

"Bakura, what you're asking...I'll betray my friends."

Bakura stood still for a moment before giving her a wicked smirk "Yes Kim, yes I believe that is betrayal. But...don't they deserve it?" he asked quietly. "Didn't they betray your trust too?"

the girl was silent as she processed those words. True, at one point they had. But even still, it was against her nature to go against anybody who she shared an affiliation with. Unfortunately, that did include him.

"W-well...y-yes." she answered him, and was surprised to feel his hand on her arm. He resisted in smirking, her body was beginning to feel the effects of the shadows, her skin was icy to the touch, that even his hand must've felt warm to her. Normally she would flinch from his touch, but this time she eased into it. The demon gave her a smile. One that both unnerved, yet intrigued Kim at his facial expressions. She was used to seeing his lips drawn down into a frown, his eyebrows furrowed into a glare. But this time, his eyebrows were up, his lips tilted in his smile down to her, and she realized it was a very odd but much more appealing look to him.

"Then do that one tiny favor for me Kim, it will be your unnoficial payback." he said soothingly, and Kim felt her body lean into his more. His hand began to run up and down her silky arm, his other hand now at the small of her back, applying pressure to it to be sure she would lean into him more.

The sixteen year old screwed her eyes shut as she tried to will herself away from this demon. He was evil! And she knew it. He had blackmailed her into doing a few favors, such as stealing objects from her friends, no matter how trivial they were. Not only was she blackmailed, but the fear of him was too great for her to really consider going against him. He gave her a nice demonstration of another world that he could permanantly place her in.

she felt sick to her stomach, and found her legs could barely hold her up, so she let them give away, but was shocked to feel his hands had suddenly gripped her arms, keeping her upright.

"Because you didn't complete the task I asked of you on time, I regret to say that I have to take something else from you." he said into her ear. His hot breath washing over it and she succumbed to a shiver. She shook her head and he chuckled gently,

"Now now, don't be afraid, it's nothing much. I just have a couple of questions."

Kim felt bile rise to her throat and she struggled to keep it down, there shouldn't be anything in her stomach to lose, but somehow, she figured Bakura would not be happy if she got sick on him.

When she didn't answer, he proceeded "First. Do you know what the Pharaoh is planning?"

she swallowed down the bile, and took a shaky breath "H-he plans, t-to return to the museum" she said weakly

"Alright, good." he nodded in satisfaction "And do you know when?"

"Day after tomorrow." she whispered, gripping onto his wet blue and white striped t-shirt.

"hm, that makes your deadline tonight then." he said. "otherwise, you and I are going to have...a little vacation tomorrow."

Kim's breath hitched as she knew what he was referring to. In the dark world, he could inflict as much damage to her as he pleased. And it wouldn't even show in this world. Pain wasn't unusual to her, in fact she didn't mind it in the long run, it just made her stronger. But Bakura did not plan on pain being his only punishment. And she knew it.

"O-ok." she said in an even weaker voice.

"What was that?" he asked and she cleared her throat

"I said ok." she said in a louder voice.

"Very good." his hand cupped under her chin, tilting her face up as he studied her thouroughly. He smirked, she was just so fragile and he knew that if she failed, well, he didn't quite want to dwell on it. He didn't exactly want to bring harm to the girl, he hoped he could still use her for one more game. "Meet me here again tonight when you're done." he said, and with that, released his hold on her, allowing her to fall to the cold wet ground.

Kim watched as the spirit that inhabited within her friend walked away and she looked up into the heavens.

"I am pathetic." she moaned to herself "I should take his punishment over this," her hands began to tremble at the thought of one day alone with him. Was madness worth keeping her dignity?

Bakura didn't bother to look back, he knew the girl would just be in agony over what she was forced to do.
No...she wasn't forced. While he threatened her, it was her choice whether to follow through or not. He always gave that grace to his victims.

Bakura chuckled even more to himself, he always liked this part of his games the best.. Everybody loved a good story about a strong hero who could do no wrong. And in Kim's story, she wasn't at all strong, and thus, she would make an even better story. Because what the audience likes to read more than a hero who succeeds, is a hero who falls.

I'm not saying that Kim is a hero. But because it is her story, the audience's perspective views her as such. This chapter was inspired by several sentences that I have written but hidden.

I also just realized that this is my tenth chapter! *applauds* hopefully the next ten will be good!

Anyway, thanks for sticking with this guys!
