To Break the Bonds

Blog Prompt: Pretending to hate each other

It was a lie. Hate was the least thing he felt toward the him. In fact, aside from admiration, he probably liked him more than he ever imagined. However, those were feelings he was suppose to hide since Sawamura was simply his servant.

Even though they were both around the same age, he was his master and he was suppose to do everything he commanded him to. As expected from society, he had to treat him with harsh and cruel discipline even though he didn't really want to. Miyuki just didn't think it was fair. He just happened to be born in a prestigious and wealthy family, but that didn't make him automatically better than Sawamura.

Still, everyone lived that way and life was forcing him to go along with the rules. It was either that or Sawamura would be taken away from him.

It was apparently time for dinner and everyone had gathered around the table. They all bowed toward one another before they carefully sat down to eat. Sawamura quickly came toward him and placed his napkin on his lap. However, like usual, he was much too nervous and ended up spilling the drink on the table all over him. Everyone screamed with horror at the mess caused by the mere peasant. Miyuki simply rolled his eyes at them, but he knew he also had to go along with them. In his eyes however, they were the real idiots.

"Sawamura, what do you think you're doing?!" He yelled, getting up and slamming his fist on the table angrily. From the corner of his eye, could see the fancy ladies pulling out their lace fans and nodding their heads at his behavior. "How many times do I have to tell you be careful?! This is ridiculous! How stupid can you be?!"

He took off his rather expensive coat before he grabbed another nearby glass of wine from a waiter. He gave Sawamura a fake evil smirk before he poured it over his head without a single bit of hesitation. Then, returning the empty glass, Miyuki shoved his coat toward Sawamura as roughly as he could. "Take it and wash it! I don't want to see your disgusting face!"

Miyuki could see Sawamura boiling in his own anger, but he kept his mouth shut. He regained his composure, bowed, and apologized. Then, he left right after giving him a death glare. Miyuki sighed and watched him leave with great sorrow.

He sat back down on the table and listen to his guests conversations. It was true times were changing people, but it still wasn't to the point where status could easily be shaken away. If he seemed to different, they could rip away the way of life his grandfather had worked so hard to achieve. He had no choice, but to fit in with the people of influence and real power. If people started thinking of him as a freethinker in a suppressed one minded society, then there was no telling what would become him.

When they were finished eating, Miyuki excused himself earlier than he had expected. He told his guests that he needed to step out for a bit, but he politely told them to keep enjoying themselves for the meantime. They nodded before the plump ladies and arrogant gentlemen began to whisper between one another.

If he could get rid of the stupid autocracy he lived, then everything would be much better and he would be able to enjoy a quiet life with Sawamura.

Walking down the hallway, Miyuki stopped when he reached his room. He went inside, thinking Sawamura would be in there and sure enough, he was. He was sitting on top of his bed, his hair still soaking with fine grape wine. He was looking at the floor in a complete daze as his hands held the coat he had dirtied. Miyuki stood by the doorway for a while, but Sawamura didn't notice him until he lightly coughed.

"What?! What are you doing back?!" Sawamura pointed at him in utter surprise as he rapidly got up. Realizing he still hadn't washed his coat, Sawamura quickly hid it behind his back. "Aren't you suppose to be with your smancy fancy guests over there?! What the heck are you doing here?!"

"Oh, be quiet." Miyuki replied, closing the door behind him so others wouldn't hear Sawamura's loud voice. "They're fine."

He walked toward him and pulled out a handkerchief. Then, he slowly began to wipe Sawamura's wet sticky face. Even though it was dark, Miyuki could easily see Sawamura's blushing face. He let out hopeless sigh since such detail left his heart racing. "I'm sorry about what happened back there. I might have gotten carried away."

Sawamura said nothing which only grieved him more. Giving him the soft piece of cloth, Miyuki leaned his forehead over Sawamura's. He carefully placed his hand over his back, feeling a terrible ache in his chest. For certain reasons, he had whipped Sawamura in the back for something he had done while ago. He and an official government agent had gone horse riding, so he had been obligated to. He still felt guilty about it and he swore that he would never do something like that again.

Those were the rules however. Master and servant weren't suppose to get along. They were suppose hate each other. However, recently, servants were expected to be treated worse since they were almost seen as slaves.

"I'm sorry." Miyuki said again, reaching down to grab his rough hands. "I'm really sorry."

"Ugh, geez, it's fine." Sawamura tried to push him away, but he didn't let go. He held onto him tightly, hoping it would get rid of some of his agony. "I rather it'd be you than someone else."

Unable to resist and breaking every single rule known, Miyuki quietly pressed his lips against Sawamura's.

There was so many things he was so many things he wanted, but he really wished he could break the terrible bond of master and servant.
