Sorry for the delay work and then school starting up I finally had time. Anyway I own nothing except the plot and Faolchu. And away we go!

~Faolchu's POV~

After dinner Merida and I entertained the guests some more though Riley still did not let up on the leering and other than Rabbitboy everyone was starting to notice. Finally it was bed time, so Merida and I got ready for bed and climbed in. After about an hour she was completely out and I started to try and move out from under her. My wiggiling ended up waking her up though.

"Faolchu? What's going on?"

"Elinor wanted to talk to me in the library after we went to bed. I was trying to not wake you; I apologize," I answered lowering my head.

"It's okay, just hurry back okay?" she smiled, and at my nod and goofy grin, she closed her eyes and quickly went back to sleep. I kissed her forehead and slipped into my clothes from the day and quietly padded down to the library.

"Elinor," I called softly. When no response came, I sat and waited.

"Ah Faolchu, sorry about the wait, anyway put on this cloak, take this money, ride Agnus into town for the night market, and try and find the claw you need for Merida's courtship. If you can not then just ask the blacksmith to make you own of whatever metal you chose that he has in stock."

"I can not ask this of you," I started.

"I know that is why I am giving it to you. I have seen how Riley looks at her and I fear he may do something to her. If you complete all the steps toward your bonding, and then since wolves have a wedding night type completion, then we can have the human wedding that day. Now I also want you to marry her as you truly love her and that love just keeps growing and you will always put her first and always protect her. Now go, so that you have time that you can give it to her tomorrow morning. Though I must ask how is it that if pairs mate, that females do not figure it out?"

"Most of it is done out of the eyes of others, so that females do not figure out the first steps."

"Okay, well go now."

"Yes, ma'am." Then as I felt of her as family I did the wolf goodbye too family outside your mate and kissed her cheek and then ran to the stables.

"Agnus, I need you to take me into the village for the night market so I may begin my courtship with Merida at sunrise."

He whinnied and I climbed on and we took off. It took us a couple hours to get there, and I dismounted and handed him over to a stable boy to be cared for along with some of the gold coins. I was looking through the shops when a little boy ran into my legs.

Looking down shocked, he was dressed only in a pair of ragged shorts held up by a knot in the side. He was obviously hungery and had nothing. Crouching down, I realized I did not have my gauntlets then. Oh well, at least he will not be scared as easily. "Child where is your family?" I forced myself to use the human terms.

"I 'ave no fam and no food. Tat man wan' my 'ead for tis bit of bread." The boy held up a piece of bread the size of his fist. The man in question came up behind him and looked ready to speak, when I stood and held out the gold coin I had dug from the sack at my waist.

He took it and left the child with me. "Do you have name?" I asked looking down at him.

He shook his head stunned at me. I smiled and do to the pack always looking out for stray pups I did what any true wolf did and simply asked, "You want to live with me and by apart of my family?"

"Why?"

"I was raised by a different kind of people than those here. When we saw one of the young ones or even most older ones without family we would invite them into ours. As we have a saying, 'As one we are taken by the weakest prey, but as many even the mightiest foe falls to us.' So, you want to be apart of my family?"

He nodded, and I smiled, and told him we could go home as soon as I found a necklace or pendant or anything shaped like a wolf claw. He grabbed my hand, and pulled me to a both that had all sorts of jewelry including a bronze wolf claw on a leather cord. Picking it up and paying for it. I took him to get some clothes from a stall nearby and then went back to the stable to get Agnus.

"I do no ride."

"That is fine you can sit in front of me and I will keep you safe." I picked him up and set him down at the front of the saddle. Then climbed up behind him and grabbing the reigns turned Agnus back to the castle.

"'ere?" he asked.

"Here, though I want you to be quiet okay?"

"Otay, I am six too."

"I am 18, but will turn 19 soon."

"When?"

"Next full moon, now shhh." I quickly got him down and cared him inside to Merida's and my room. Waking her gently, I hid the necklace. "Merida, do to how I was raised when I met this boy I had to take him in by the code of my family. I have not named him yet and do not know where he can stay, but he is only six, and…" I rambled until Merida covered my mouth.

"Child, what would you like your name to be?"

"Wha, yer name sir?"

"My name is Faolchu and I am a girl, though by my family standards and as I joke I was sometimes called a man."

"I want something like Faolchu, and can you be my mum or da?"

"I am better suited for father role, but sure I will be your da."

"You ma'am?"

"I can be your mum, and my name is Merida."

"The Princess?"

"Yeah, now we need a name so I can go back to sleep and so can Faolchu. Oh and do not think that you are getting out of telling me just where you found him in the morning." She warned, so I just grinned back.

"I think it should be Oisin," I answered.

" Little wolf, and deer. Do I have the only none animal name in this round-about family?"

"Yeah," Oisin and I said together.

"Well let's get some rest. Oisin as I am too tired to give you a bath now, you will get one when we wake up. Tonight you sleep with us and tomorrow we deal with my parents." I just grinned and laid down in the middle of the bed with Merida curled into my side. Oisin looked lost so I opened the other arm and he crawled to lay on the other side of me and we all fell asleep.

I could only wait to see what horrors would await when Elinor found us we she came to get us later.
