Well, I made good on my word and updated this rather quickly. I did have trouble coming up with an idea then I took some inspiration from my childhood. The thing that Tails did was actually something that I did in the first grade. I thank everyone who favorited and followed the story and myself as an author. Now let's get on to the replies for these reviews:

Sonic155: Yeah, I didn't really have anyone else to be the coach. And with Locke being so strong I figured he was the best. I'm going to have some characters OOC since this is a kid story, but I think you'll like all it the same.

Knuckles lover 1245: I'm not really planning to use any OCs right now. Maybe when they get to higher grades, but for now I have all of the characters I need. Your OC won't go to waste though. You never know, I might think of something.

I do want to say, when playtime is happening, everything that is going on is in their imaginations. Except for Sonic and Geoffrey getting ready for a duel. But enough of this. You can read this for yourself. Without further ado, I present to you..Come On Tails, Keep Up.

I have to say that I'm actually enjoying the first grade. We have Ms. Rosie as a teacher, I still have all of my friends, and we have fun every day. We're also learning different stuff like basic addition and subtraction and trying to improve our handwriting. That's one of the things that I'm most focused on as I plan to be giving out autographs in the future since I'll be the coolest Mobian alive.

Today was just another day at Mobotropolis Elementary. We were doing a few addition problems as Ms. Rosie graded some other papers that we had completed earlier. Normally we would be working in groups and I would be with Tails since he's major smart. But today was different. We were working by ourselves and Tails was actually behind as he had been out with the chicken pox for the past week. He had a lot of catching up to do.

"How you doing, buddy?" I whispered as I finished my addition problems.

"Better. These math problems are too easy. It's the handwriting that's getting to me. Mines is horrible." He responded.

"Well, just keep trying. Maybe you can come over later and I'll help you out with it." I offered.

He smiled and got back to work. I got up from my seat to turn my paper in to Ms. Rosie. As I walked toward her desk I looked around the room to see what the others were up to. Knuckles and Sonia were reading a book together in the reading corner. Amy, Antoine, Bunnie, Dulcy, Manic, and Rotor were still working on their addition problems. Geoffrey was whispering in Sally's ear, making her laugh. I still don't trust him. Rotor got up from his seat and joined me at Ms. Rosie's desk.

"Ms. Rosie, can we have playtime now? Most of us are done with our work." Rotor asked as we handed her our worksheets. On days that we don't go to the gym, Ms. Rosie usually gives us a good amount of time to play in the playcenter.

"I don't see why not," She said as she stood up from her desk and clapped her hands together. "Okay class, for those of you who are finished with all of your work you can have playtime. If you are not, you will have to finish all of your work first."

Everyone who was done immediately got up to turn their papers in and start playing. Unfortunately, Tails still had a lot of work to do. I walked over to him and laid a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, Tails, you'll get done with plenty of time to spare."

One thing that I loved about Ms. Rosie when it comes to playtime is that she always fashions a section of the playcenter into something different each time. A pirate ship or a spaceship, things like that. Today it was a castle. All of us were there except for Sally, who was still sitting down with Geoffrey, and Tails, who was finishing up his work.

"Yo Sal, come on! I'm King and you can be my way past cool Queen!" I yelled.

"But I want to be your queen!" Amy exclaimed, stamping her foot on the ground as Sally ran over.

"Don't worry. Next time you can be my leading lady. For now, how about you be the princess?" I said, handing her a pink cone hat with a white scarf hanging out of the top.

"But who's going to be my prince?"

"Tails, hurry up! We need you to be the prince!"

"Sonic, let Miles finish his work," Ms. Rosie instructed. "If he finishes before playtime is over, then he can join you."

Sally went and grabbed Geoffrey and gave him the prince crown. "Now we don't need Tails to be the prince."

"I think I'd make a much better King than him." Geoffrey sneered.

"Yeah, well bummer majores for you Stank John, I'm King and there's nothing you're going to do about it." I said, wagging a finger at him.

Sally quickly grabbed Geoffrey's arm and drug him to the opposite side of the fortress. Manic and Antoine were guarding Princess Amy while Prince Geoffrey looked for him. He had strict orders to bring him back safe and sound from the clutches of Robo-Queen and her lackey, Rotor the Menace. Man, was this going to be a way past cool playtime.

Prince Geoffrey quickly ran across the bridge to the guard tower. Manic and Antoine quickly withdrew their swords from their belt and prepared to battle. The Prince stopped in front of them with his sword still in his belt and quickly took a comfortable position lying on his side in front of them. "Look, guards, I'm not really in the fighting mood right now," Geoffrey said as he inspected his nails. "Why can't we have a quick chat to get to know each other a little better?"

Both guards let their swords hang by their sides, unsure of what to do. "Um, well this has never happened before," Manic said, breaking the silence and putting his swords back in his belt. "Well I'm Manic the Great. Nice to meet you."

"Same to you, mate. Unfortunately, this meeting has to be cut short." Geoffrey said as he quickly did a sweeping kick and knocked Manic off his feet. He then proceeded to disarm him and knock him out. He turned to Antoine to see him running toward him with his sword ready to lunge into him. "Ah ah, you're going to have to be quicker than that to beat me." Geoffrey said as he quickly countered Antoine's attack. He then jumped over the fox and grabbed his sword arm, twisting it and causing him to drop his weapon. Antoine was soon dangling in the air and Geoffrey threw him into the guard tower wall.

After taking the key from Manic's waist, he unlocked the door and started running up the stairs. He made it halfway up until mini robo-knights came flooding down the stairway. "Seriously Robo-Queen? That's the best you can do?" As the mini robo-knights came running towards Geoffrey, he quickly pulled out his sword and began slashing through them like they were a stick of butter. Easily dismantling the army of mini robo-knights, Geoffrey finally made it to the top of the tower. The only obstacle that stood in his way was Rotor the Menace.

Rotor the Menace was a menace like his name implied. He certainly wasn't a pushover when it came to battle. But Geoffrey had an ace up his sleeve. He knew Rotor's weakness and planned on toying with him first. "Well Rotor, it looks like it's up to you to stop me from rescuing the fair maiden."

"You got that right," Rotor growled. "And I'll do more than stop you."

"Heh, we'll see about that." Geoffrey said as he ran toward Rotor. Rotor immediately went on the defense, but Geoffrey flipped over his head and tapped him on the shoulders. As Rotor turned around, Geoffrey mounted his crossbow onto his wrist and took aim straight at Rotor's face. He turned around to load his crossbow and quickly turned around and shot the ammo. "You look a little fishy, mate." Geoffrey laughed as Rotor wiped his face off. He looked at his hand to find anchovies all over it. Seeing that, Rotor couldn't concentrate and began licking his hand clean, as he loved the taste of anchovies.

Geoffrey quickly mounted a stun dart into his crossbow and shot it onto Rotor's chest, causing him to fall unconscious. He turned to the Princess that was sitting across the room. "Princess Amy, I presume."

"Yes. Who are you?" Princess Amy asked as she got up.

"I'm Prince Geoffrey of the Kingdom of Downunda. Your parents, King Sonic and Queen Sally, sent for me." Geoffrey said as he picked the Princess up and began carrying her out of the tower. They made it outside and were about to cross the bridge until a dark shadow was cast over them.

"So you think you can just waltz in here and take my captive," Robo-Queen droned as she rode Dulcy the Dragon. "That's not how it works, boy!"

Geoffrey quickly set the Princess down and took a defensive stance. Dulcy dove down toward him and before she reached him she quickly did a front flip in the air and hit him in the back with her tail. Geoffrey went flying off the edge of the cliff, but before he could fall he grabbed a branch and flipped himself back upright. As Geoffrey began loading another stun dart in his crossbow, Dulcy came down and slashed him in the chest, momentarily shocking him. As it seemed that he was going to be thrown off the cliff again, he jumped into the air and did a kick spin, catching Robo-Queen on the side of her head and knocking her off of Dulcy into the deep abyss below. As Dulcy dove to rescue her, Geoffrey shot his stun dart and caught her on the back, stopping her from going any further.

"My hero!" Princess Amy exclaimed as Geoffrey ran back to the Kingdom of Mobotropolis with her in his arms.

After they made it back to Castle Acorn, Geoffrey quickly made his way through the castle and presented himself to the King and Queen.

"Your majesties, your daughter is back, safe and sound." Geoffrey said as he bowed in front of King Sonic and Queen Sally.

"Thank you, Prince Geoffrey. You'll make a mighty fine King someday." Queen Sally said.

"I hope to be on the same level as King Sonic, m'lady."

"Over my dead body!" King Sonic exclaimed.

Geoffrey growled and pulled out his sword. "After all I've done for you, still you choose to treat me with disrespect. You say I cannot be a great King like you unless it's over your dead body! Well that can be arranged!"

Sonic jumped up and quickly grabbed his sacred sword, Excalibur. "Alright, but I warn you. It's all about speed! Let's do this!" And with that they began running at each other for an epic sword battle.

"Go, Sonic!" Tails yelled as he watched the whole thing unfold.

Ms. Rosie then stood up and clapped her hands together. "Alright class, playtime is over. Please put everything back how it was and return to your seats."

"Another time, Hedgehog." Geoffrey whispered as he set his sword down.

"You got it, Stank John." I shot back

"No!" Tails yelled as he flung his papers off of his desk. "I was almost done! I had less than half of this worksheet to go!"

"Miles! I am very disappointed in you. Pick those papers up right now." Ms. Rosie instructed.

"I wanted to play with Sonic and everyone else! It's not fair!" Tails yelled as tears flowed down his face.

I quickly put all of things back in their place and rushed to join Tails by his side. Ms. Rosie could tolerate a lot of things, but not this. "Miles, I'm going to ask you one more time, pick up the papers you threw off of your desk." Ms. Rosie requested. But Tails wouldn't listen. He finally stopped crying, but he just sat there with his arms folded, pouting at the world.

"Tails, buddy, if I were you I would pick up the papers." I whispered.

"No! I wanted to play with you!" Tails yelled.

Ms. Rosie walked over to Tails and handed him a yellow slip of paper. "That's enough of that Mr. Prower. This is not the first time you've had a tantrum in my room, but you took it too far by throwing papers and being disobedient when I asked you to pick them up. Go see Mr. Acorn."

Tails looked at Ms. Rosie with disbelief. "The principal?"

"Yes Miles, the principal. He's expecting you.

"Ms. Rosie, is it alright if I go with Tails? Make sure he gets there alright?" I asked.

"Go ahead. I'll phone Mr. Acorn to let him know you'll be with him."

Tails got up from his seat with his head hanging low. Enduring the walk of shame was horrible, but I was here to help. As we walked down the hall, Tails began to sniffle to himself. I stopped him and bent down so that I could be level with him. "Tails, you know what you did in there was wrong. You know better than to throw papers off the desk and then ignore the teacher's request."

"I know, Sonic, but I just wanted to play with you guys during playtime. You guys looked like you were having a lot of fun." Tails said.

"That doesn't matter. This time you took the tantrum too far. You have to stop with the tantrums. You're in the first grade. I know you may not be the same age as us, but you've got to act like it. Your IQ is already far ahead, time for the rest of you to catch up with it."

Tails nodded his head as we made it to Mr. Acorn's office. "Sonic and Miles. I was told you would be here. Ms. Rosie already informed me of everything that happened. Miles, you know better. Just because you don't get to play or you don't get your way is no cause for you to have a tantrum. Education is more important than playing and you have to finish your worksheets first. And choosing not to do what your teacher tells you is just as bad. I'm going to let you off with a warning, but I don't expect to see you in my office again anytime soon. Have I made myself clear?"

"Yes, Mr. Acorn." Tails answered.

"Now go on back to class. I know you're both good students. Act like it."

We both left the office and started on our way back to class. Tails was still looking a bit down so I decided to talk to him a bit more. "Tails, when we get back to the classroom I want you to apologize to Ms. Rosie and mean it."

"I will." Tails said.

"And don't forget, you're still coming over after school." I told him.

"Really?"

"Definitely. I told you I'd help you with your handwriting and I will. Plus, there's going to be chili dogs calling our names. Now are you ready to get back to class?"

"Yeah, Sonic! Thanks."

"Anytime, little bro."

Well, I hope you liked this chapter. I had too much fun writing it. This is definitely one of my favorites. I can say that this is the chapter where Sonic and Tails's sibling relationship is established. There will be plenty more of first grade to come, so be on the lookout. Make sure to review! I LOVE hearing from you guys. Anything you have to say, go ahead and let it out. Until the next chapter, be breezy! Chaos Control!
