After a moment the blonde fell limp in her arms and Elphaba choked back tears as she quickly lay the blonde down on the floor.

Making her lie flat she immediately started to press down on her chest for the second time within twenty four hours, she started trying to bring the blonde back to life.

Elphaba hissed and screamed out in pain as the burns, raw from the wet jacket, stung horribly as she moved. Elphaba pressed on forcing air into the smaller woman's lungs before repeating the compressions.

Please, Galinda you promised to come back. Please, please, come back to me!

Spells were said to be irreversible but she prayed that because she wasn't using another spell this would work.

Elphaba worked frantically not pausing even as she screamed out in pain again, due to her many, many burns. She pushed on the blonde's chest counting out the beats before she forced air into her lungs once again.

Please let this work!

The sun light coming through the windows alerted her that it was in fact the next day and her time was almost up. Elphaba shook the thoughts from her head and she continued working. She would not stop until the blonde was back.

"Please Galinda, you have to come back. What am I going to tell your parents?" She spoke softly. "You can't make me tell them all this!" tears clouded Elphaba's vision as she worked. "Please, Galinda, you promised to come back remember? Please come back!"

The spell had fallen away with her death. But the damage was done.

Her heart shuddered and stopped many times as Elphaba pressed down, trying so hard to restart. Little flecks of life sparked in her brain, but they weren't connecting quite enough.

But as the sunlight poured through the windows they did. Galinda drew in a breath. But her eyes didn't open.

Elphaba paused as Galinda started to breathe again, but her joy was short lived as Galinda's eyes remained closed.

"Galinda," she asked as the blonde remained still but was breathing steadily. "Galinda can you hear me?"

Galinda didn't respond to her cries. Though her heart was ticking over her thoughts didn't move. Not visibly anyway.

Tucked away in the corner of her mind she was stirring, but not to the land Elphaba was in. She was in a terrible nightmare, reliving the events that had just occurred. She was stuck in the past, moving through the events before she could return to the present.

Without warning her body jerked, as she was caused pain in the nightmare. She let out a soft cry this time, and one could only imagine what she was feeling. She needed to be broken out of the dream, before she lost her sanity.

Elphaba realized Galinda was alive but back to reality yet. Oz knows what dying twice in one day would do to someone.

Elphaba gently lifted Galinda off the floor and quickly moved her to her bed before she could drop her.

"Alright," she said to herself as she tried to think on her feet and come up with a plan. A thought struck her and she ran to the bathroom grabbing a face cloth and running it under ice cold water hissing in pain as the water freshened the burns on her hands.

She moved quickly back to the blonde and wrung out the washcloth over the blonde's face hoping the cold water would snap her out of wherever her mind had gone back to.

Galinda shot upwards her arms flying out to whack whoever had attacked her. She immediately dropped back down, gasping.

She was alive. She shouldn't be alive. They had used a spell. What had Elphaba done?

"Elphie" She croaked, her eyes finding the green figure above her, "You stupid idiot" She hissed, angrily.

"I told you to leave me dead!" She shouted, panicking. Where was her uncle, had he come back too. She couldn't feel him. Was he really gone?

Elphaba was too relieved to be hurt by the words. She dropped the wet towel to the floor and her hands immediately balled into fists finally getting the signal of 'what the hell more water, pain PAIN' to Elphaba's brain.

"Oz, Galinda, I thought you were for a moment, there!" she whispered as she fell to her knees next to the bed. "He's gone, he shouldn't come back, don't be worried" Elphaba said softly as she gently worked her hands open and closed, wincing as she did so. How many of these are going to scar?

Galinda noticed Elphaba's pain and her mind made the connection between the water and Elphaba.

"Oh you idiot" She said, pulling herself upright and moving unsteadily to a standing position.

"Why water Elphie?" She said, stumbling over to the scattered bottles on her own bed.

"If he's gone." She began, and she thought she really did believe he was. She hadn't felt this free since he died, "Then let me at last treat those bloody burns."

Well that was our first ever rp together, and boy did we choose a dark subject. We hope you enjoyed reading it and we would love to hear from you. Thanks!

If you fancy more twisted stories then do pop over and have a look at our page. We are currently uploading an in progress thread about Elphaba after the melting, except something has gone seriously wrong and as a result Glinda is in mortal danger...
