If you remember the boys' conversation with their cruel boss on the HoloCaster thing in umm...I forgot which chapter...anyway, the boss said for the boys to protect the girls since other assassins found out that his organisation need them so Rocket are trying to get the girls for no real reason, just to mess up their rival assassin organisation's (Evil cruel man's) plans. But Rocket are still bad. Anyway, this chapter should clear it up a tad. :)

Chapter Ten: Teamwork!
Misty stirred in her sleep, slowly opening her eyes. She rubbed her head, it hurt from sleeping on the hard, cold floor. Then it hit her, she was sleeping on a hard cold floor.
She immediately sat up, she was in a modern type of cell, smooth, shiny metal bars and a matching floor. She looked around and saw May and Dawn sprawled on the floor, no sign of Leaf.
"Guys! Guys wake up!" Misty cried in alarm, shaking her two friends.
Dawn sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Where are we?"
May, on the other hand, turned over, "Five more minutes," She mumbled.
"May do you have any idea what kind of situation we're in? Leaf's gone!" Misty cried, glaring at the half-asleep May.
May sat up in realisation. "Oh! Umm, where are we?"
Dawn rolled her eyes, "You're so slow, May. All I remember is that smoke in the waiting room and then I just... blacked out."
Misty stood up, trying to find a way out of the cell until she heard a familiar; "Hi-ya!" in the distance.
"Hey! That was Leaf, she sounds like she's fighting someone," May said, stating the obvious.
"Whoever brought us here took our Pokémon as well," Misty said, feeling her belt for her Pokémon.
Dawn sighed as she realised there was no way out and sat down on the floor hugging her knees. "Why us?"
"Do you think it's to do with, you know, our past?" May said, looking up at Misty.
Misty gave her a grave look. "It's the most logical explanation at the moment."
"So you're saying my Arcanine can sense them?" Gary asked Ash.
Ash nodded, "Yup, Arcanine should be able to trace where they went since he knows Leaf's scent."
"Well then hurry up, let's go!" Drew said, jogging towards the door.
"Wait, guys!"
Paul, who was at the back of the boys, turned around and saw Serena running up, "Please let me come too! I want to help find them too, please?"
"No, we can't let anyone else get hurt," Gary answered.
"I'm a strong trainer, believe me!" Serena pleaded.
Paul sighed. "Just let her come, she's wasting our time."
"If Serena's going, I am too," Calem said, coming up next to Serena.
Drew grinned sarcastically at the honey-blonde. "The more, the merrier!"
"We'll see who's being sarcastic when we save your asses," Serena retorted, crossing her arms and rolling her eyes.
Drew crossed his arms, looking away while muttering something inaudible.
"Come on, let's go!" Ash said as Gary released his Arcanine. They sneaked out so the producers and guards wouldn't see them leaving, they wouldn't be allowed to go if they were seen.
Leaf ducked under a punch, spinning around and punching the attacker right under the jaw. Another came running up to her, this time it was a female.
The woman snarled, "The little girl thinks she's strong does she? You're nothing but a puny little child who sings with her cutesy little voice!"
"Oh yeah? Damn you're lucky I don't have my Pokémon with me. I'll just do it myself," Leaf replied with an arrogant tone.
The woman growled and charged at her, fist raised. Leaf smirked and swiftly dodged and stuck out her leg, tripping the woman.
Leaf smirked and flicked her finger, gesturing for more of the grunts to fight her, a few were already on the floor, groaning in pain.
"What? To scared to fight?" Leaf taunted. She was the best at combat between the four, she used to train with her Lucario. Despite defeating so many, it had taken it's toll and she was quickly losing strength, she wasn't able to hold it for much longer. It was only her stubborn fighting spirit keeping her going.
They glared at her and sent out their Zubat, Golbat and Rattata, "We're already late! Enough of this nonsense!" one cried out.
Leaf put her hand on her hips and glared. "That's just unfair, cheaters!"
"Golbat, supersonic!"
Leaf cried out in pain as stabbing throbs pained her head, soon she was going all dizzy. She fell on her knees and collapsed, not before cursing at them. "Screw you, bastards."
Misty was pacing around in the cell. "Why us? Why'd they take Leaf? Why were we kidnapped in the first place?"
"Misty, calm down! Worrying so much isn't going to help you at the moment," Dawn said, rubbing her head.
"Damn it, if I had Blaziken with me we could've busted out of this place in no time," May said, frowning in frustration.
Dawn eyed a table nearby. "I can see our belts with our Pokémon over there... if only we could get to it."
"I just hope Leaf is okay," Misty muttered quietly.
Dawn put her hand on Misty's shoulder. "She'll be fine. Remember how stubborn and strong she is."
May nodded, smiling. "Let's have faith in her, and in the meantime, lets get outta this place."
Misty smiled. "Maybe her stubbornness will actually help her out for once."
"Ar-Arcanine," Gary's Arcanine barked.
"Alright ladies and gentlemen, we've reached the place," Gary said, jumping off his Arcanine.
Drew's Flygon, Ash's Charizard, Paul's Honchcrow, Serena's Talonflame and Calem's Altaria landed.
"Ladies and gentlemen? Who's the lady, apart from Serena?" Drew asked, narrowing his eyes at Gary.
"You," Gary replied as he chuckled.
"Hey, I-"
"Drew, Gary, shut up. This isn't the time to be arguing," Paul said, returning his Honchcrow.
The five other trainers returned their Pokémon and looked up at the building.
"Well, let's go," Drew said, jogging up to the building.
"Drew, wait-" Paul started but was cut off by an alarm sounding. Almost immediately, around thirty grunts spilled out of the building.
Drew stopped, his mouth forming an O shape. "On second thoughts," he said, backing up slowly.
"You guys go, me and Serena can handle this," Calem said, determination in his eyes.
Serena looked over at her friend. "Really?"
Calem nodded, determined. "Its been a while since we've tag-teamed," he smiled, "-let's do this."
Serena nodded and grinned. "Right!"
"Sure you can handle them?" Ash said, looking over at Serena and Calem.
"Of course we can! Now you guys go and save the girls, hurry!" Serena replied.
"Then let's go," Paul said, running into the building, punching grunts out of his way, the other three followed.
They heard Calem and Serena call out their first Pokemon as they entered the building.
Paul stopped, turning to see their Pokemon taking out several at once. Maybe t was good that they tagged along, after all.
Leaf rubbed her head and looked around, she was in an office, it was really big. In front of her, there was a large desk. She realised her hands were tied behind her back.
"So you're awake," Leaf heard a deep voice say behind the desk.
She was infuriated as she stood up. "Why am I here? Where are my friends?!"
The man just ignored her and continued. "You were quite hard to get here, we thought you'd be the easiest to get information out of, turns out we were completely wrong. Maybe I should bring the other brunette here."
She widened her eyes. "No, not May! Just tell me what information you want to know!"
"Tell me why they send those people after you four, what's so special about you?"
Leaf shook her head, confused. "I don't know! Who's after us?"
"Don't play dumb with me. I am Giovanni, leader of the Rocket organisation!" he said, raising his voice.
Leaf was completely confused, as to what he was talking about. "I have no idea what you're talking about!"
Giovanni glared at her. "Why are they after you? Tell me!"
"I'm telling you, I don't know what you're on about!" Leaf exclaimed, her confusion level was over nine-thousand.
Giovanni got off his chair, approaching Leaf. He slammed her onto the wall. "Tell me why Lysandre sent them after you and I wont kill you and your petty little friends."
Leaf was having a hard time breathing, he had grabbed her by the neck. "Please, I don't know," she pleaded, tears coming out of her eyes. There wasn't much she could do when her hands were tied behind her back and the man was twice the size of her.
Then, a sudden burst of hatred and anger shot through her, her fighting spirit was coming back. "Even if I knew, I wouldn't tell you. You old geezer."
A mischievous grin spread on her face as she said the last sentence but disappeared soon after as she choked.
Giovanni grabbed her neck tighter. "I'll ask you one more time, why are they after you?"
"Misty, May, Dawn, Leaf? You guys here?" Ash called out, his voice echoing off the walls.
"Ash?!"
Ash's eyes widened. "You guys hear that?"
Drew nodded, quickening up his pace. "Yeah, it was Misty for sure. Let's go!"
The four boys ran around the corridors, towards Misty's voice, running into a dark room with metal cells.
"They came!" May said, grinning at the sight of the four boys.
Around thirty grunts spilled out, trying to guard the cells. Gary frowned in annoyance, punching a grunt in the face.
"I'll handle them," Paul said, releasing his Torterra and punching a grunt at the same time.
"If you need any help. I'm right here," Ash said, nodding at Paul.
Gary's heart skipped a beat as he looked at the girls in the cell. "Where's Leaf?"
"W-we don't know," Dawn answered, looking at the floor.
"What do you mean you don't know? She has to be here somewhere," Drew said, scratching his head.
"You guys bust them out, I'm going to go find Leaf," Gary said, heading towards the door.
"We'll catch up," Ash said to Gary.
Gary gave a nod and jogged out the door, he was on his way to find Leaf.
"As for the keys... where could they be?" Drew asked no one in particular, looking around the large room.
"We don't need the keys! Just break it open, Drew," May said. She wanted to help Leaf as soon as possible, who knew what was happening to her.
"Fine, January. Ash, make your Charizard use flamethrower on the bars. After that, I'll make my Absol use water pulse so the metal rusts and it'll be weaker. Then Absol will use iron tail and the bars should break," Drew instructed.
May ignored the annoying nickname for once, as arguing would just slow them down.
"You girls might want to use a water Pokémon to make sure the flames don't hurt you," Ash said.
"But we don't have our Pokémon, they're over there, on that table," May said, pointing to four belts with pokeballs attached.
Drew headed over and took off two pokeballs, Dawn's Piplup and Misty's Starmie. "Here, use these," he said as he slipped them through the bars.
Misty and Dawn released their pokeballs, a Piplup and Starmie appearing after a flash of red lights.
"Piplup, go to that side and use Bubblebeam," Dawn instructed.
"Starmie you do the same but on the other side," Misty followed.
Both of the Pokémon went to opposite sides and released water type attacks, making a protective wall of water.
"Now Charizard, use flamethrower on those bars!" Ash commanded, releasing Charizard. His Charizard released a powerful flamethrower, the bars went red. The cell went hot and steamy from the flames hitting the wall of water.
"Now Absol, water pulse!" Drew said, releasing his Absol. The bars went slightly rusty as Drew commanded his Absol to use a powerful iron tail on them.
"It worked!" Dawn exclaimed, grinning as the bars were smashed by Absol's tail.
Outside, both Calem and Serena cried out in unison, sticking their hand up in the air. There was a large bracelet on their wrists, it was glowing different colours as power and lights surrounded Calem's Absol and Serena's Charizard.
"Absol, mega evolve!"
"Charizard, mega evolve!"
Absol's fur grew, it's tail and blade on it's head went sharper and changed shape, it's claws grew and it grew white, furry wings. Charizard turned black, it's belly, underneath, tail flame and the inside of it's wings turned blue. There was a blue flame coming out from both sides of it's mouth and it grew horns on it's wings and neck. They both gave a loud battle roar, intimidating the opposing Pokémon.
Most of the grunts were surprised, taking a few steps back as most of them had never seen a mega evolution before.
Serena grinned maliciously, a look that only came on her face in fierce Pokémon battles, "Come on, Calem. Let's show these idiots the real power of Kalos!"
Calem nodded, having the same facial expression as Serena. "Right! Absol, night slash!"
"Charizard, dragon claw!" Serena commanded, her Charizard hitting a few Golbat with it's power-enhanced claws. Another few Golbat fainted and a couple were hurt but not fainted, they went flying through the air but soon composed themselves, launching themselves at Charizard with strong poison fangs. Charizard was too slow to move out of the way, they were going to hit it.
"Now, Absol, finish those Golbat off with a psycho cut!" Calem called out as Absol leapt in the air even faster than the Golbat, sending two sharp, pink, crescent-shaped attacks towards the Golbat, knocking them out.
Calem and Serena grinned at each other and high-fived. Charizard gave a growl of appreciation to Absol for helping it out, Absol returning the gesture.
"Now this is what you call teamwork," Serena exclaimed, throwing her fist up.
"There's still more of these guys," Calem smirked, "-Absol, psycho cut!"
May stood up, carefully going through the large hole in the bars that they had created. "How did you guys find us?"
"Gary's Arcanine knew Leaf's scent, it could trace you guys back here. Believe it or not, it was Ash's idea," Drew explained, flicking his hair.
Misty grinned at her raven-haired friend. "That's great, Ash!"
Ash scratched his head, laughing. "Oh it wasn't much," he replied modestly.
"Don't forget your Pokémon," May said as she took her belt from a table, Dawn and Misty following.
"Guys I could use a little help here," Paul called out. He was still fighting all the grunts himself.
A competitive look appeared on Dawn's face. "You got it, Togekiss, Piplup spotlight!" She exclaimed, running over to Paul's side.
Paul raised an eyebrow. He had seen her on TV once, while he was injured in a hospital he didn't have anything to do so he was watching a contest, Dawn was in it. Although he would never admit it, he knew Dawn's combinations were powerful.
May appeared by Dawn's side. "Dawn, let me help you-"
Dawn shook her head, "No, I got this, go find Leaf and Gary."
"Sure?" May asked, cocking her head slightly.
"Yeah, I'm sure. Now you four go find her, me and Paul can do this," Dawn said, looking around at May, Drew, Misty and Ash. Paul looked slightly surprised at her burst of confidence.
"Alright, thanks Dawn. Let's go, guys!" Misty said, grabbing her belt and running out, Ash, May and Drew following her.
Paul looked at her curiously. "You seem confident. Why?"
Dawn smirked. "Watch."
A few Golbat were sent out, Dawn pointed towards them. "Piplup, Whirlpool!" Once Piplup had released it's whirlpool attack and it was racing towards the group of Golbat, Dawn shouted out another command. "Now, Togekiss, use aura sphere inside the whirlpool!" Togekiss released an aura sphere, it went straight into the whirlpool.
Paul's eyes widened as the whirlpool sped up, glowing electric blue with power crackling through it. "W-what is that?"
"I call it, Aura Whirlpool, my strongest and best combination yet!" Dawn said proudly, putting her hands on her hips. She watched as powered-up whirlpool took out every last one of the grunt's Pokémon. "It's beautiful too."
She grinned widely, making the peace sign with her fingers "Coordinators are just as powerful as trainers! Believe it!"
Paul was impressed, he never expected Dawn to be a powerful trainer, since contests never meant anything to him. He couldn't care less about the beauty of a Pokémon, "It's powerful. Good job, Dawn."
Dawn couldn't believe it, he had complimented her and said her name instead of Troublesome in one sentence. "Did you just compliment me and call me Dawn?"
"Does it matter? Hurry up, let's go," Paul said, grabbing Dawn's wrist and pulling her along.
Dawn's face went red, "Hey- wait!"
Ash, Drew, Misty and May ran out the room, only to run up to the end of the corridor and see three familiar characters. They all glared at the traitors.
Ash's eyes narrowed even more as he spoke, "It's you."
"Prepare for trouble," Jessie said, appearing in a stylish pose.
"Make it double," James said, same pose as Jessie, symmetrical to her.
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
Jessie had a blood red rose in her hand. "Jessie!"
James had a lavender-blue rose. "James."
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light," Jessie continued, smirking.
James smirked. "Surrender now or prepare to fight!"
Meowth popped up saying, "Meowth that's right!"
There was an awkward silence for a few seconds.
Drew broke the silence. "That was really lame," he said, looking at them like; really?
"Yeah, how many times did you rehearse that?" Misty said, same expression as Drew.
Jessie stuck her nose in the air. "You're just jealous!"
"Yes, it's one of a kind," James said, crossing his arms.
"We don't have time for this!" Ash said, gritting his teeth.
"Too bad! You have to beat us to get through, twerp," James said, smirking, "Go, Victreebell!" Instead of battling, the Victreebell attached itself to James's head, he started flailing.
May frowned, they were wasting too much time. Leaf and even Gary's lives could've been in danger.
"If you don't tell me, I will do much worse to you and your friends than this," Giovanni said, still keeping Leaf pinned to the wall by her neck. "I'll give you to the grunts, know what that means? You'd be completely helpless."
He tucked a strand of Leaf's long brown hair behind her ear, "You're a pretty one too, aren't you?"
Leaf couldn't take it much longer, she couldn't breathe but she was worried about what he meant by worse. He didn't believe Leaf was telling the truth, despite her constants pleads. She didn't know what she did to deserve it.
Her vision was getting darker and blurrier, slowly she was blacking out. She suddenly heard someone shouting as the door slammed open.
"Scizor, quick attack!"
A blur of red that made Giovanni go flying was all Leaf saw until she immediately collapsed, free from his grasp. She collapsed on the floor, her long brown hair sprawled around her and her hands still tied behind her back. All she saw was a person with auburn hair running up to her, shouting her name.
"Gary..."
A/N That chapter was the most fun to write so far! XD The end of that chapter was a little inspired by the second-last episode of SAO. Asuna reminds me so much of Leaf, her appearance and personality are both pretty similar.
Oh if you wanna see Absol and Charizard's mega evolutions just look them up on Google. Charizard has two mega evolutions, Serena's was mega Charizard X, not Y. In the games I prefer Y since I'm into competitive battling and it's actually much stronger because of it's sun. But Charizard X looks way cooler XD My Charizard Y is black too though, it's a shiny Charizard! :D
Who got the Naruto and Dragon Ball Z reference? Hint: It's obviousness was over 9000, believe it! XD Tell me in a review if you saw it, haha!
Yay...school started yesterday. Note the sarcasm. I'm sorry but updates will most likely take longer.
I might do a story based off the anime SAO (Sword Art Online) but Pokémon characters instead, after I'm finished with this story and possible sequel since I'm already writing The Magic Within Us right now. I'm having a little trouble with it too. Only two stories at a time! XD The summary is on my profile :D
