Damn rewriting this stuff is harder than I thought it would be at times.

Perry: Since you never answered me before I'll keep the question of what you mean with "rewriting" to myself and just ask: Why that?

It's just, some chapters were so short at first and it's hard to make them larger and more elaborate without changing too much! In one chapter I rewrote I started with roudhly 2500 words and ended with more than 7000. And then there are chapters where I'm struggling to get from 1500 to 2500.

Ah, but whatever. In this chapter things will get a Little more exciting again and there'll be a small insight in the other kind of work an Agent has to do.

Perry: Ugh...please tell me you're not talking about paperwork?

Maybe? (smirks) Anyhow, Phineas and Ferb doesn't belong to me.

Perry: R&R

A dull thunk echoed through the silent air when Pinky's forehead met the desk he was sitting at. Paperwork, groaned the Chihuahua mentally. I hate paperwork. Why does it have to be me? He grunted. Oh yeah, Perry put me in charge of the kids training, which also involves this!

Pinky sighed and read through his letter to Dr Bringdown, Darren's nemesis, once again. There was only so often they could sent a replacement-Agent instead of the man's actual nemesis without providing some kind of explanation. Like most of Danville's bad-guys, Dr Bringdown was quite protective of his nemesis. Right now the official story was, that due to the sheer number of Newbies finishing their training, they needed to give them all some field experience. Not a total lie since especially younger Agents and some Newbies, sometimes in groups, had been sent to take care of some scientists.

Dr Bringdown wasn't the only one who had seen less of his nemesis at this point, but he had complained about it just yesterday, wondering what in the world was going on and why it wasn't Darren anymore that came to stop him. That and the man was allergic to dogs, cats and most kinds of critters. And they had needed to send quite some of those animals lately.

Scanning the letter one last time, Pinky nodded to himself, it would definitely suffice, and put it in an envelope, quickly sealing it off and placing it in the out-box.

Before he could pull out the next form, concerning repairs of some training-equipment, Buford was very eager lately, and if that didn't have Pinky groan internally once more, a familiar female voice rang out.

"Hey Pinky, we're going to the cafeteria for lunch, you coming along? You've been in here since this morning after all!"

The Chihuahua glanced over his shoulder, to see Fione, Oscar and – Is that Tony? I haven't seen him in ages, thought the Chihuahua when he caught sight of the grey tom next to Fione.

He remembered the tom well, no surprise considering how often Baron had sicked them onto each other during training. Nonetheless the tom was probably the personification of the word "Undercover-Agent". Even Dennis couldn't beat him when it came to disguises and gathering of information. Thus the tom being somewhat of a reclusive and rarely really seen in the Agency.

"Give me a minute", called the Chihuahua back with a smile. Quickly he put all the forms and papers away and logged off the computer, making sure to save those files twice for good measure, before he leaped out of his seat and ran over to his fellow Agents and old training-partner. "Long time no see Tony", greeted Pinky with a grin once he reached them, holding out his hand. Despite everything that happened in the past the two did get along rather well.

The grey cat grinned back at him, eyes glinting playfully and grabbed Pinky's hand. "It's been a while, hasn't it? How are you pal?"

Pinky shrugged and started to walk. "Could be better, but I supposed that's just the paperwork." He didn't want to mention Perry, he missed his best friend to dearly.

Tony's eyes flashed, obviously he caught onto which topic Pinky tried to avoid. Luckily the tom was a quite understanding fellow and his jokes and pranks, all carefully devoid of anything concerning Perry, made for a quite enjoyable lunch-break for Pinky, Fione and Oscar.

Once Pinky almost chocked on his steak from laughing so hard when Artus the Arctic-Fox' drink exploded in his face, turning his white fur a bright purple. Artus had glared around the room, searching for the culprit. The problem was that Agents from every kind of department and rank were present and all of them were laughing their heads off. The gifted hacker-Agent gave a low and dangerous growl, before he'd stormed from the room.

After lunch, Pinky's heart felt a lot lighter than it had but half an hour ago, the group of four agents split up rather quickly and Pinky was about to head back to his paperwork when an alarm went off.

Every Agents' head shot up and Pinky titled his head, ears shooting up for but a second, before he recognized the alarm and burst into a run. Fione and Oscar were right behind him while they made their way to the same conference room they'd been in when Conquer had come by. The Active-Field Top-Agents all met in the room, looking around nervously.

Elisa and Sally were present as well, no surprise there. Before the reveal of the First Triangle Team most would've questioned just why those two were present, having very little to do with Active-Field duty, Sally even less than Elisa, but now no one even batted an eyelid at them.

Monogram rushed into the room soon enough, followed by Acronym, Carl and…was that Carla? She was back from France already? Damn Pinky had definitely lost track of time lately. Snapping back to full attention when Darren tapped on his shoulder the Chihuahua sat down between Minnie and Oscar. Monogram and Acronym took their respective positions at the head of the table and Monogram raised his hand. The agents quietened down quickly enough and focused their attention on the man.

"Agents, we have received warning of an urgent situation in Danville. This morning four of the six big schools in Danville exploded."

His voice was grave and silent, so the unison "WHAT?!" that erupted from almost every present agent seemed almost deafening in comparison. Pinky himself had been among those and he wasn't ashamed to admit it.

Four of the great schools blown up?

Just like that?

"Indeed", picked Acronym up now. "Luckily, since it still is summer, no one was there, so there were no injuries or causalities, nonetheless we're sure it isn't over yet…Carla?"

The redhead activated the overhead projector and two pictures appeared. "These are the last two remaining schools", explained the female intern. "Since the other four were attacked already, it's safe to say that those two will be the next targets."

Agreeing murmurs arose, but were silenced quickly once Monogram stood up.

"This is why we called you here. We don't know who is doing this and we don't know how or why, but what we do know is that it needs to be stopped. Thus you all will be separated into two groups. Each of your groups will be joined by two Agents from the bomb squad, just to be on the safe side. Should your team-leaders, which will be Agent Sally and Agent Elisa respectively, deem it necessary, you can request additional help from other departments or lower ranked Agents."

He turned halfway to the projection, where Carl had now brought up one of the schools. Still stuck as a lamb or not, the intern was as diligent as ever.

"The first group, led by Agent Sally the Snake will take care of the Danville International Grand-School. As you all know, it's the biggest school in the Tri-State Area and partially a boarding school as welll. The Agents that will accompany Agent S are", he pulled out a list, "Baron the Rabbit, Bertram the Bulldog, Catherine the Chicken, Charlie the Crocodile, Gary the Gander, Fione the Fox, Francis the Fox, Minnie the Mouse, Manny the Mongoose, Oscar the owl, Rudolph the Reindeer, Sergei the Snail, Terra the Turkey and Wallace the wolf. You will be joined by Canna the Cobra and Martin the Mantis from the Bomb-Squad. If you think you need anyone else, get them now and send a message containing the names to Carl. Of you go!"

Those mentioned saluted and quickly left the room.

Pinky returned his attention to the projection when the picture changed and Monogram continued: "The second group, led by Agent Elisa the Eagle, will go to DV Junior-High. The Agents going with Agent E are: Connor the Cock, Darren the Duck, Don the Dog, Harper the Hawk, Hazel the Husky, Herman the Hedgehog, Leon the Lizard, Pinky the Chihuahua, Roger the Racoon and Wendy the Weasel. The Agents Roger the Rat and Tanya the Tarantula from the Bomb-Squad will join you. Same instructions as with the first group, off you go."

Again the whole group saluted and they all ran off.

"Why are so many more Agents in the first group?", asked Wendy curiously while they left the room.

Pinky glanced at the Weasel and reminded himself that she was the newest Top-Level Agent they had. Of course she wouldn't be sure what to make of this. "That's because Danville International Grand-School has a very big campus. They need to be more to be able to cover everything", explained Elisa. Then she straightened and ordered: "Darren go to the Bombing-Department and get Roger and Tanya. If any of you knows someone they think could be helpful, get them now. Meet us in five minutes in the vehicle-bay."

Since Pinky couldn't think of anyone he'd like to come along, he simply continued to follow Elisa through the Agency.

Most lower ranked Agents dodged out of the way immediately once they saw their group coming, knowing something big was going on, most Rookies and some of the stubborn low-ranked ones though, well Pinky had to leap over them more than once. It was somewhat annoying.

Once the group arrived at the bay, they found quite some hover jets missing already, indicating Sally's group had already moved out. She sure is efficient when in charge, thought Pinky. He glanced at the eagle in front of him. Elisa too.

"Alright, the best drivers in this group, go grab a jet. Then wait for the others", instructed Elisa.

Pinky, being a rather horrid hover jet driver if he said so himself, stayed back at first, before he ran forward and joined Leon in his jet. They were joined by Roger and Tanya soon enough, the small build of the two Bomb-Squad Agents a definite advantage right now. Their equipment still fit easily too.

Elisa, Darren and Harper didn't sit down in any of the jets, opting to fly by themselves. The eagle flapped her wings once, taking to the air and scanning everyone. Apparently everyone was ready since her next order was: "Alright, let's move out!" And she was off.

Pinky pressed his ears flat against his head when Leon accelerated quickly in order to keep up with the tempo Elisa set. That was one of the reasons he was a horrid hover-jet driver. Oh give him a usual car or even a proper plane or helicopter any day and he did just fine, but the wind that rushed past his ears in the agency's hover jets threw off his concentration far too easily.

At least he wasn't the only one affected. In a nearby jet he saw Hazel, her ears flattened against her head as well. It was the same for most canines in the agency.

"-ridiculous." A conversation behind him drew his concentration away from the flight and to the backseats of the jet.

"I know", answered a rough voice. "The amount of explosives, no matter which kind of chemical it is, needed to pull this off, is amazing. And if someone had bought great amounts of these chemicals…the agency should've known about it. One can't buy so much of these and not attract attention."

Pinky glanced back to find Tanya leafing through some sort of notebook and Roger glowering up into the sky. "Unless", began the tarantula carefully.

"No", cut Roger in immediately and turned his head to glare at her.

"But it is a possibility", tried Tanya to argue, "Someone could've-"

"There's no one in our department who would do that Tanya", growled the rat. "And outside there's only a handful of Agents who even know about this experiment. And all those are trustworthy."

"It was just an idea", sighed Tanya, but returned her focus to her notebook and remained silent. Roger only grunted and turned back to look at the sky, only pausing for a second to glare at Pinky in warning. The Chihuahua gulped, the rat's yellow eyes were gleaming in a frightening way, but gave a slow nod, indicating he wouldn't talk about what he'd overheard just now.

"Estimated time of arrival, five minutes", called Elisa suddenly. Hearing this, Pinky tore his attention from the two Bomb-Squad agents and took a look at their whole group. Each present Agent was tense, their eyes focused dead ahead. Pinky himself was shaking a lot less than usual, the adrenalin in his blood coupled with his tensed muscles blocking some of his natural movement.

Now their mission really began.

A shadowy figure crouched high between the branches of a tall oak-tree, eyes narrowed while it watched the proceedings on the grounds of DV-Junior High. The group of Agents spread out quickly and with practised ease, soon leaving no blind-spots for anyone to use to sneak in.

Still, the figure let out an unconcerned chuckle. A snort came from behind it and it turned slightly. A second figure appeared and gazed down at the Agents. It snorted again and muttered: "Idiots, do they really think this is going to stop us from doing our job?"

"Well they are just doing theirs", answered the first figure with a shrug.

"No matter, that school won't stand much longer…are those-?"

"Members of a bomb-squad. We have to be more careful this time it seems. If they discover the bomb too soon."

"It'll be fine", argued the second figure and dropped down a few branches. "C'mon, let's get this done."

The first figure shot one last look at the school, trying to remember where the Agents were positioned, before it also started jumping down the branches. It grabbed a satchel from between the roots and then the two set off. They had a job to do and no one would stop them from finishing it.

Well, what do you think?

Perry: About the ending? I think it's pretty obvious.

Phineas: Really?

Perry: (shrugs) Sure, why wouldn't it be?

Peter: (pops head through the doorway) It really isn't that hard to figure it out. (blinks) Oh by the way, Perry can you help me out with something?

Perry: Certainly. (leaves the room)

Hm...

Phineas: Night?

Those two are up to soemthing...
