A/N: I abandoned it. I just stopped after a while, and forgot about it. Then one day I was on my iPad, and I had a folder which had bookmarked fan fictions on it, and my two were on there. "Oh, why don't I read these," I thought. "It's been such a long time!" So I did. I checked the other ones I had marked, then lastly, I went to mine, and reread them. I found so many places where I could have made things better, and I thought, "I'm going to continue. I really want to know what happens next, and the only way for that is to write it." So here I am, starting the next chapter…
Chapter 10: A Dark Night's Meeting
Why are you acting like this, Lily? You're a big girl; you can handle being in a room full of people with that git Mulciber in it. Yet she kept on walking to the bathroom.
"Lils! Lils! Come back here! You don't have to be scared of him; he's just a stupid insecure bloke! He thinks he has to break up you and Snape so he can have him all to himself!"
I couldn't help but giggle. "Hestia! That's horrible!"
"Wouldn't be surprised if they actually were attracted to each other!"
I laughed out loud. She always made me laugh.
I paused. There was someone behind us. "Well why don't I come prove you wrong?" By the time I realized who exactly it was, it was too late. Hestia was pushed and pinned against the wall by none other than the Snape impersonator himself.
But that was fine. That was fine because Hestia wasn't alone. I was right there, and I'm not scared of Mulciber. I'm not. My wand… Oh where's my wand. I need my wand. I pulled it out of my robe.
I looked up just as I was thinking of a spell. He was kissing her. A lot. And she wasn't liking it. At all. That was it. I couldn't witness this for a second longer.
I brought together all my anger and directed every single bit of it (which at this point most of it was already there) towards Mulciber.
"STUPEFY!" He was literally sent flying all the way back into the Great Hall, and landed right on top of his buddies, Avery and Rookwood. I would have laughed if I hadn't just been the one in the situation in which I had to do that.
A big blob of dirty blond hair was suddenly in my face. I immediately knew it was a "Hestia Jones" hug. "Oh my god. Lily! I-I don't want to think what he would have done if you weren't there. Oh! LILY!" she sniffled.
"Shhhhhh. Shhhh. It's okay, Hest. It's okay. You're okay. It's over."
I turned my head back to the Great Hall. Great. Just the perfect person to lead the whole school into the corridor. Potter.
It was Sunday, and we had told Alice and Marlene what had happened. We all agreed that something had to be done, and telling Dumbledore won't help because he already knows, but there's nothing he can do because of the influence Mulciber's family has. So we decided to take matters into our own hands. We had come up with a plan, but there was a kink. We needed the Marauders. And who is in the Marauders? James Potter. And Sirius Black too. No thanks. That's what I said, but the four of us came to a decision that we needed the Marauders for this plan to work even more effectively. So now, guess who's stuck getting them in? Me. I, out of everyone, was the only one who had all my homework finished! Can you believe that?
I walked into the common room and into the corner that they always hang out in. Surprisingly, they weren't in detention.
"Remus. I need to have a word with you. All of you."
"Us?" asked Potter sarcastically.
"NOOO wayyy!" said Black mockingly. "Why would she ever want to have a word with us? I mean, I get if she wants to have something with you, Jamesie, but…"
I threw my hands up in frustration. "And you wonder why I hate you two. Anyways, I was, er, well. I need you. The girls I mean. The girls and I need you. All of you. We need your help. Want it, I mean. Well what I'm trying to say is, we have a plan, but it would really work better with your help."
"All I heard was 'I need you'," smirked Potter.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "I'm serious Potter. We think that something needs to be done about Mulciber, and since you two think you're so amazing at 'getting things done' we kind of incorporated you into our half made plan."
I waited for a response for about five seconds. Then I got one from Black. "Well something does have to be done about him. Whaddaya think? Moony, Prongs, Wormtail?"
"I'm in," said Potter.
"Me too," said Pettigrew.
"Remus?" I said.
"Let's do this," he replied.
Evans had asked me to help her! I can't believe this! I've been waiting for this moment my whole life! It's finalized! We're gonna get married and have seven kids!
"James? James? You there?"
"Huh? What, Alice?"
"Potter, my cousin just asked you a question. Listen to her."
"Hey back off Siri, I've been friends with her before we even knew each other!"
"Can we just… get back to work please?" said Evans.
I smiled cockily, "Anything for you Lily-flower."
"So, we're getting him alone. There'll be eight of us, so it won't be hard to corner him and—" started Marlene. I basically knew half of Lily's best friends before she even knew them.
"Seven, actually. I don't think I want to do this," said Peter.
"Wouldn't have expected anything else," muttered Sirius.
Marlene continued, "Okay, well that's fine. We can still do this with seven. But we're going to need someone to distract him, first. Anyone?"
"Me. I'll do it. I sent him flying twenty feet; I'm not scared of him," volunteered Evans.
"Are you sure Lily?" asked Remus.
"Yeah, I got this."
"I don't think you should, Evans. He's probably really angry at you for humiliating him in front of the whole school yesterday," I said. This really wasn't a good idea.
"Even more the reason to do it then," she replied stubbornly.
"Nothing's going to change your mind, Lils, is it?" asked Alice.
"Nope."
"Okay, who's the best at hexes, jinxes, and curses?" said Jones.
"Me!" I said immediately, a little too loudly.
"Of course," Evans groaned.
"Hey, don't hate on him cause you're just not as awesome!" said Siri. He's always got my back.
Evans rolled her eyes. She does that a lot. I find it extremely attractive. "Shut up."
"Moving on," said Marlene. "Once James throws a curse at him, we—"
"CRAP! We were supposed to be in detention with Dumbledore 30 minutes ago!" exclaimed Remus.
"Relax man it's Dumbledore, not Minnie. We're good. C'mon lets go now," I said. We weren't gonna be in any trouble with Dumbledore. I'd just tell him I was with Evans then he'd smile and say all is forgiven. Sigh. That's why I love Dumbledore.
I was on my way to Slughorn to give him my essay that I finished two weeks earlier than it was due. My friends make fun of me for it, but in the end, who's the one relaxing while they frantically write their essay last minute? And you know what they said? NO ONE! They said I would be working on the next homework assignment! Can you believe that? They're probably right though; they call it uptight, I call it hard working…
Oh, it's Sev.
"Lily, you have to go, now. You have to go. Mulciber, Avery, and Rookwood are coming back from detention with me. They're really angry Lily. They're planning something against you, and it's really bad. If he sees you now, it's going to be really bad. Please, Lily, you have to go."
"What? No, Severus, I'm not going to go. I'm going to keep walking, and if you really want me to be safe, you're going to stop them. If not, then I guess I'm screwed." I wasn't going to take this anymore. Either he cared about me, or he didn't. Plus, I can take care of myself.
"Lily, no! Go, now, don't be stupid."
I shook my head and kept on walking. He ran after me and grabbed my arm. I stiffened and looked at him, thinking back to the other day. But that was Mulciber, not Sev.
"Lily please go. This is a bad idea. Just leave now."
"NO Severus. No."
I turned back around and froze. "Well, well, well, what do we have here. Mudblood Lily Evans. All by herself. Snape isn't going to help her. What's she gonna do? Whatcha gonna do?" Mulciber. He walked towards me, and they all started closing in on me. I slowly started to back away. This wasn't looking good for me.
"Severus?" I said.
"Snape?" said Rookwood.
"Look you guys, let's just go… Come on," said Severus. Mulciber suddenly spun around and sent a curse flying towards Severus. He fell to the ground.
"Ha, loser," smirked Avery.
"Shut up Avery; no one wants to hear you talk," snapped Mulciber.
I concentrated on getting myself out of this situation. I knew I left my wand in the dorm, so that wasn't an option. Calling out for help wasn't either, because they'd just do something even worse to me. I could run… I didn't take time to think about it. I just turned around and started to sprint away. My legs were going in overdrive almost as soon as I started because my heart pounding was using up my energy. But about 10 seconds later, I realized that was a really bad idea, because I was thrown against the wall and held by the hair.
I could feel Mulciber's breath against my face, and I was really getting scared now.
"Thought you could run away from me now, did you?" he whispered. "Rookwood, cast an invisibility shield around here. That way no one can see you tortured. Avery. Cast a sound shield around here. Now no one can hear you scream. We're gonna do this old school honey."
"It's hilarious you know. You trying to act bad when we all know you're just a pathetic Death Eater wannabe," I whispered. That about mastered up all the courage I had left in me.
"You little mudblood bitch!" He pointed his wand at me and muttered something, and I was tied up immediately. This is not good. This is really bad. This is very bad.
He got even closer to me than I thought was possible, and he whispered in my ear. "I'm going to make you wish you never pissed me off, honey."
He muttered yet another spell at me, and then pain. Pain was all I felt. Pain all over. Pain everywhere. From the tips of my hairs to my toenails. Pain. But this wasn't the Cruciatis Curse, I knew that. Mulciber had been learning his tricks. This was just a substitute for it. And it was very painful. I heard screaming. It was me. I was screaming at the top of my lungs and it felt like I was losing consciousness. The only physical surrounding I felt was a hard chest. I knew it was him. Mulciber. I didn't care at this level of pain, though. I buried my head into whoever was there, and I screamed. I was on my knees, I realized. And he was there too. Through all the pain, I felt someone squeezing me. Tightly. Too tightly. Suffocatingly tightly. Evilly tightly. I was still screaming. I couldn't think.
Then all of a sudden, it was gone. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Did you feel that, mudblood? Did it hurt? It put you in your place, that's for sure. I can make you feel so much more pain. So much more."
"Please," I breathed. "Please. You've done enough. Let me go now, please."
"Not so fast my pet. Not so fast." He grabbed me by my waist and a place I'd rather not say (my arse), and threw me against the wall. It hurt. A lot. Why wasn't anyone seeing this? Why was nobody helping?
"You know what mudblood? We're gonna let you go. You know why? Because this is going to be a regular thing. If you ever tell someone about our little…meeting, well, you're screwed even more than you already are. And that is saying a lot. So…"
Pain. He did it again. It was the pain, all over again. I buried my face into whatever was there, once again. And screamed. I was starting to think that he as going to put me through this all night. I just sat there screaming and tears were burning on my cheeks and I felt like I was going to die when I felt warm arms around me. I opened my eyes, and the pain was gone. And the last thing I saw before I blacked out were warm hazel eyes and glasses.
