Chapter 10
Cailida began to slowly cry, waking her father. Milori turned to face Clarion, as if waiting for her to wake up and feed Callie, but she never did. Her body never moved. Milori took Cailida over and changed her diaper but she still cried. He tried to feed her a bottle, but she wasn't having any of it. Soon he realized why she was crying. She wanted her mommy.
Not knowing what to do, he walked over to his wife and sat Cailida on her chest. Wrapping Clarion arms around Cailida, he let the tears fall freely. There was no stopping them at this point. He looked at his daughter as her crying came to an abrupt stop.
In fact, her eyes began to sparkle brighter and she started to giggle. Slowly, Cailida began to glow. The glow grew brighter and brighter until it was blinding. Milori turned his head until the light faded. He saw his daughter in the same position as before.
Suddenly, the light came back, doubled in brightness. As it glow a coughing was heard. More like a gasping for breath. He peered through the light and saw Clarion shoot upright.
"Clarion!" He cried out, throwing his arms around her. She held Cailida with one arm and used the other to hug her husband back.
"Milori!" She gasped. He pulled back and stared at her, watching the color come back, watching her come back to life. "It looks like Cailida is a healing talent!" Her sweet voice brought him out of his trance.
"Tell me you love me." He said suddenly. Clarion giggled and smiled.
"I love you!" She kissed him passionately.
"I love you too!" He whispered into her lips. "Frost...you're alive!"
"Jingles...I really died, didn't I?" She whispered. He nodded as he covered her face in kisses.
"But you're alive. And that's all that matters..." He began to kiss her neck and Clarion let out a moan. Milori pulled back quickly when they heard a knock on the door.
"Queen Clarion!" Remedy gasped as she walked in. "I thought I heard you but I didn't want to get my hopes up!" Milori took Callie in his arms as Clarion stood steadily and embraced the crying healing talent.
"Shhh..." Clarion stroked her hair. "I fine now sweetheart. No need to cry."
"They're happy tears Queen Clarion." Remedy whispered as she tightened her hold on her queen. Milori sat aside, smiling brightly.
"Well..." Clarion bent down and wiped Remedy's tears. "I'm not going anywhere so we can just dry these tears." Clarion planted a gentle kiss on Remedy's forehead.
"I don't know what I'd do without you. You're the best queen ever." Remedy giggled. They spoke few more minutes before they decided to draw more blood for another test.
"Please don't tell anyone I'm alive right now, Remedy. I want a little time to myself before everyone comes to see me. Because I imagine they'll want to see me."
"Ok!" She giggled. "Time to yourself...right..." She giggled glancing at Lord Milori as she left. All Clarion could do was laugh. She'd missed her fairies.
"You don't really want time to yourself, do you?" Milori asked kissing her cheek from behind.
"Of course not!" Clarion giggled, turning in his arms. "I love you."
"Please say it again." Milori whispered as his head got closer to hers.
"I love you. I will always love you." She whispered, resting her forehead against his.
"I love you too. You are my world Ree." Slowly their lips locked. It was a kiss of pure devotion, a kiss of want, a kiss of need, and a kiss of undying love. Resting one hand on her behind, Milori pulled her closer and cupped her breast with his other hand.
"Milori..." Clarion moaned. She played with his hair and slipped one hand into his pants. But no sooner had their moment began, did it end. Cailida began to cry her high pitched squeal. They broke apart, panting, and kissed innocently.
"Someone's hungry!" Clarion giggled as Milori handed her Callie. As Clarion began breast feeding, she closed her eyes tightly.
"Are you ok, my love?" Milori asked from beside her.
"I was just thinking about never getting to do this again, and never getting to see her again." She whispered. Milori didn't say anything; he simply hugged her closely.
"Let's not think that way." He whispered as a knock was heard. He covered his wife's chest up with a light blanket as Remedy walked in.
"Did the blood test come in?" Clarion asked hopefully.
"Yes!" Remedy cheered. "You're perfectly healthy!"
Clarion could have sworn her heart stopped for a moment hearing this.
"Thank you for taking such good care of me." She finally said.
"You're welcome Queen Clarion!" Remedy smiled. "Would you like me to announce it?"
"I would like to do that." Clarion said. "But would you call everyone for the meeting?"
"I'll take care of it right away!" Remedy left the room as Cailida finished eating. Clarion gently patted her back, causing the small baby to burp.
"That's my girl!" Clarion giggled. She rested Callie on her stomach and fixed her dress. "So, I was wondering if you could watch her while I go make an announcement."
"Clarion, darling, she's my daughter as well. You don't have to wonder if I'll watch her." Milori chuckled.
"I guess you have a point!" Clarion giggled back. They moved closer and kissed. "Well, as much as I'd love to stay here and kiss, I have a meeting to get to."
"I'll come with you, my love." Milori stood and watched as Clarion stood to her feet, strong as ever. They walked down to the Pixie Dust Center and before they went out Clarion whispered something in her husband's ear. He nodded with a sly smile on his face. With Cailida in tow, he walked out to face the mass.
"Rosetta, will you hold her?" He asked the garden fairy, who nodded and took the baby. "We've called this meeting to spread news to everyone." Milori could tell by their faces that they all thought Clarion was dead. Suddenly, three orbs of light began to flash and everyone froze to watch them. They clashed together and when the light faded, Queen Clarion floated down from the air.
"Princess Cailida has the healing talent, we discovered." Clarion said with a giggled. All the fairies jumped up and down, cheering and crying tears of joy.
"You're alive!" Tinkerbell screamed. Mary, Vidia, and Rosetta ran forward and hugged her tightly. Milori took Callie from the garden fairy before she embraced his wife.
"Yes, I am, and I have a few words to say." Clarion cleared her throat. "Tinkerbell, come here."
"I swear I haven't done anything!" Tink said as she fluttered forward.
"Tinkerbell, never apologize for who you are." Clarion completely ignored what the girl had said. "You are amazing. I'm glad you never simply do your work. I'm overjoyed every time I see one of your inventions. So never apologize, not even to me." Clarion kissed her forehead before turning to the next fairy. Within a few minutes, Clarion was knee deep in personal messages to each fairy and she wouldn't have had it any other way.
"Voila you are the best fairy guard out there. Feel free to wake me with a horn if necessary!"
"Really Queen Clarion?" Voila giggled. Clarion nodded and fixed the guard fairy's hat. "I missed you Queen Clarion!" Voila giggled and hugged her queen, something the trusted fairy had never done before.
"I missed you too, Voila. I missed you too."
"Silvermist, sweetheart, I could care less if you sprayed mist everywhere." Clarion was speaking to Silvermist at the time. Silvermist blushed slightly.
"You heard me?" She couldn't believe the queen had heard her goodbye.
"I heard all of you." Clarion chuckled. "And I named you Silvermist for a reason." Clarion winked and Silvermist winked back before flying off. Clarion had been through almost everyone by now, making sure each fairy was happy again.
"Rosetta?" Clarion called. Rosetta fluttered down and smiled. "You are one of my best friends and we are having tea tomorrow because that's what we do. Oh! And Cailida spit up on that one dress so we have to get a new one, which means shopping!" Ree clapped her hands together. "Rosetta my world would turn upside down if you weren't my friend. Never forget that." The two fairies hugged tightly.
"Hey Ree." Vidia said quietly as she floated up to her friend.
"Vidia, I could care less about the past. We both did things that caused a huge fight, but it brought us to this moment. And I live for moments like this one. Vidia, I forgive you for everything, and I hope you forgive me too."
"Ree, I forgave you years ago." Vidia hugged her right. "Friends forever?"
"Friends forever!" They both chuckled and looked around. Most of the fairies had gone home; the only ones remaining were Milori, Mary, Dewey, Rosetta, and Tinkerbell and her friends. Clarion had already talked to Dewey and the girls, so she wondered why they were still there. She shrugged it off because she figured it didn't matter.
"I think it's time to call it a night!" Mary suddenly said. They all looked to the head tinker with confused faces.
"I'm not done yet, Mary. I still have a couple people left." Clarion shook her head. 'Mary doesn't do emotions. That's why she wants to go home. Well I'll show her! She's going last!' Clarion thought smugly.
'Clarion knows how I am with emotion stuff...I should have never opened my mouth.' Mary thought to herself.
"Milori," Clarion turned to her husband. She saw him rub the back of his neck.
"Hey, Ree," he said slowly approaching her. Clarion rolled her eyes, and as soon as he was close enough, she kissed him. It had to have been the most mind blowing kiss they'd ever shared, and she didn't even care who witnessed it.
"Everything I have to say to you was in that kiss." She told him when they broke apart. The others heard and giggled.
"It was a wonderful kiss, love." He whispered. She kissed his cheek before turning to the next person.
"What a show you've put on tonight." Vidia said sarcastically. Clarion chuckled.
"I'm glad you've enjoyed it." She then noticed Mary trying to slip away. "Mary, hold it."
"You know, sometimes I hate the fact you're the queen and I have to listen to you." Mary huffed. Clarion chuckled and hugged her.
"Mary, you are my best friend in this entire world. We have so many unbelievable memories. Mary, you are my sister and you always will be." She hugged the tinker again. "We have one more crazy idea in us, too."
