The seasons would soon come to a full circle, in this time while everyone stood around the home unaware, EVE took the napkin sample back to the bio labs to hopefully see what they were dealing with. After a bit of processing the results were sad to report that these were indeed signs of a mild form of the disease that was responsible for the death of all humans.

Mother

Pink Floyd – (The Wall -1979)

mother do you think they'll drop the bomb,

mother do you think they'll like this song,

mother do you think they'll try and break my balls,

mother should I build a wall,

EVE stood in its place, processing, grieving at the idea of what would happen to their child. It floated aimlessly like a veil back to the shelter. When it arrived it was greeted with a, warm hug from the ignorant human, out of grief it impossible to return the hug, but so as not to raise suspicion it did so anyway. However, WALL-E could see something was troubling its wife; it took the boy outside to play with his kid.

They closed the door behind them, for a while they shared and processed the horrendous information. All WALL-E could do is stay unmoved while EVE dismally looked away. WALL-E sparked a current between them to help console EVE, now they were holding each other in their grief. It had only been a few months their time with the happy little human. To them it felt like only yesterdaythat he was born into their lives, it just wasn't fair. Deep in their core they believed that they would have himforever, maybe even longer; together they hopelessly watched him playwith his best friend. Though they knew they would do everything in their power to find a cure, they also decided to take it upon themselves to make the most of these potential last months.

mother should I run for president,

mother should I trust the government,

mother will they put me in the firing line,

is it just a waste of time?

Hush now baby, baby don't you cry,

Momma's gonna put all her fears into you,

Momma's gonna keep you right here under your wing,

Momma's gonna make all your nightmares come true,

She won't let you fly but she might let you sing,

Ooo-baby, ooo-baby,

Momma's gonna keep baby cozy and warm,

Oo-baby

Oo-baby, hush Momma's gonna build the wall,

For the time being they spent working repetitively

without any thought. During dinners WALL-E tinkered at the table, EVE

looked deeply into the structure of this virus, and the boy

ate tentatively while watching their favorite episode of 'The

'Honeymooners'. To the robots it just wouldn't drown out theirworries.Eve worked fiercely to kill this disease

before it could kill the boy, which meant that itdidn't have time to spend with him.

Mother do you think she's good enough,

For me,

Mother do you think she's dangerous,

To me,

Mother will she tear your little boy apart,

Mother will she break my heart,

Hush now baby, baby don't you cry,

Momma's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you,

Momma's not gonna let anyone dirty get through,

Momma's gonna wait up until you get in,

Momma will always find out where you've been,

Momma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean,

While EVE languished in its worries, WALL-E instead embraced the time that they had left with him. He taught him how to create art with paper and pencils, how to combine the letters of the alphabet into whole words, but mostof all just to be there with him and live every moment of life. The robot wished that its counterpart would do the same, it didn't know that its unintended neglectful behavior was hurting the boythan this deadly disease. One day while they awaited EVE's arrival, WALL-E still tried to plant vocabulary into his mind. Starting with pronunciation, then syllables, all over a series of flashcards with nouns on them. Finally WALL-E pointed at the base of its compartment where its trademark was printed.

"Ww-wu-wuh," the boy started off.

"Ah-ah," WALL-E helped.

"Ww-wua-Wal-"

WALL-E nodded.

"Ww-wu-wuh-wa-wwa-Wal-l-ll-ll-Wall-e,"

He had said it, he said his first word, the robot and the human hugged eachother, buzzing and laughing over their success. EVE had finally arrived to the house, without giving them notice it whizzed by them, WALL-E stopped its wife to show it what their human had just learned.

"WALL-E," he said proudly "Wall-e,"

WALL-E waited for its reaction, but the disoriented robot didn't give it a second or a first thought, instead it went back its room to continue its analyses. The robot and the boy just stood there defeated, the child coughed a bit, he felt depressed that EVE hasn't given him any attention all this time. It upset him to feel neglected by his loved one, before he could leave to his room, WALL-E took him by the hand to the room where EVE was busy.

Ooo-baby, ooo-baby,

Oo-baby,

Oo-baby, you'll always be baby to me,

They stood in front of the busy robot, still caught up in its worries, WALL-E pulled out a picture from his compartment that the boy made to give to EVE. He carefully placed it on top of her work, they waited. The silent robot looked at the picture; it was a drawing of her beneath a rainbow.

"Ee-va," the boy said quietly.

If it could cry, it would have, EVE hugged the poor human in its arms, the boy returned the hug while crying. Together they invited WALL-E to join them, to EVE it was suddenly clear that it should be enjoying the time the boy has left on this earth.

Mother did it need to be so high?

...

Spring finally arrived, the days grew longer and the living organisms could enjoy the sun once again, the boy was back to wearing his long white garment and sandals. The robots planned to make every moment count; to start with, the next morning after the morning chores were done, WALL-E and EVE gathered and prepared everything they would need for the day ahead of them. From what it looked like there might be a slight chance for rain, which is why WALL-E packed a large umbrella, while EVE packed everything they needed in their compartments and a blanket covered basket. Together they took the boy and the almost full-grown goat with them to a secluded area overlooking an ocean.

Over The Hills And Far Away *

Hey lady,

You got the love I need,

Maybe,

More than another,

Oh darling, darling, darling,

Walk a while with me,

You got so much,

So much,

So much,

While EVE was busy setting their things up in an abandoned bench area, WALL-E took the two to look around the sand filled area, the goat took to eating as much crab grass as it could find. Once EVE was with them they went to explore all over the beach. All around they could see other robots working on making new docks, decorated in different styles to fit the appropriate atmosphere. They climbed up the steepest hill to overlook the amazing world around them, although the little human went to running everywhere without thinking, the robots had fun chasing him wherever he went.

They played hide and seek, WALL-E counted while everyone hid in the most inconvenient of places. The robot used its vision to track them down so easily, when it came to the boy's turn he had the most difficulty finding everyone, but eventually he succeeded. Next everyone would aimlessly chase after the tides, and then they would fanatically run

away from it, the goat however displaced itself in the water. Seeing this, the boy wanted to do the same, it was cold at first but he was reluctantly playing with his friend, the robots joined in too; splashing and making various ripples of waves skid by them.

Many times I've lied

And many times I've listened

Many times I've wondered how much there is to know.

Many dreams come true,

And some have silver linings,

I live for my dreams,

And a pocket full of gold.

Evening came, which meant that it was time for lunch. EVE called out to them, once everyone arrived they set the homemade juice, sandwiches, baked potatoes, and other fun snacks for the boy and the goat to eat. In the meantime WALL-E would make more using the grill that stood next to the table. The two satisfied creatures took a nap on the blanket in the sand, underneath the umbrella before they could go out and play some more. While they rested, WALL-E and EVE brought a portable television to watch one of their many favorite programs.

Next they all worked together to make a giant sandcastle, WALL-E gathered the sand in its trash compactor until it came out as a solid block that everyone would use to stack together. They stacked and patted until they had the perfect sand castle, the boy and the goat were excited to go inside and stare out the makeshift windows, WALL-E and EVE laughed at the adorable sight.

Many is a man,

Who knows what he's been missing,

Many many men,

Can't see the open road.

Many is the word,

That only leaves you guessing.

Guessing 'bout a thing, you really ought to know, ooh!

Soon it was getting late, the last thing that the happy group did was to find a boat of any kind, fix it, clean it, and then take it out into the ocean for an evening breeze in the cool water. EVE held the boy in its arms comfortably, everyone was amazed to look at the seemingly endless sky of gray that shrouded them, when they looked back to the beach they could see that the lights were starting to dim on. Not only that but the boy was getting tired, he gave a long silent yawn and fell into EVE's arms. When they arrived on shore WALL-E was careful to carry the boy in his arms so as not to wake him up, all of a sudden it started to sprinkle on the Earth, today was a very successful day, and the robots hoped to have many more like this.

You really ought to know…

Wicked guitar fade-off

Even so, they took to walking around the beach once more until the sun had fully set behind them in the west.
