Hello everyone! I'm back! I'm so sorry for taking forever to update...I know its been months! But I attempted to write this chapter so many times, eventually I kept going with what I had written! Its not edited and it is short, but I have the next chapter nearly written! I will be posting it a few minutes after this is up! I hope you all like it!
I know I usually repply to reviews, but I'm trying to upload the stories quickly as I'm in a rush!
Thank you everyone that has continued to support this story! I hope my absence hasn't made you all hate the next few chapters! - Almost done with this story :'(
Clary shut her eyes tightly, not wanting Jace to be repulsed by her demonic eyes. he had seen them already, but she didn't want to look into his golden and angelic eyes and see her repulsive demon self.
Damn her brother to hell for what he's done. She may have demon blood coursing through her veins, but her mind was still the same. She still cared for all her loved ones. she would fight against her brother until her dark blooded heart no longer beat.
She would never give up fighting dark forces, even if she was closer to the darkness than the light.
"Clary." Jace's voice snapped her from her thoughts. "Clary, look at me."
Clary let out a sob as she vigorously shook her head. "I-I can't" she said, barely above a whisper.
She felt his whole body move as he stood up, he then lifted her to her feet. she felt so weak that she leaned against the wall of the elevator they were still in. she felt him walk closer to her, he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Yes you can." Jace said, his voice low. He leaned his forehead against hers.
She felt hot tears falling down her cheeks again, but didn't try to stop them. "I'm a monster. How can you bear to be near me?"
He chuckled lightly. "You're not a monster. Whatever your brother has done to you, we will fix it. And how can I bear to be near you? In the last several years, we have never been without the other for more than a day. In the past twenty-four hours, I have never had my heart as frantic at the thought of never seeing you again." He lifted one of his arms to rest his hand against her cheek. "Please open your eyes."
Clary knew how stubborn Jace was. He would hold her in his arms until he got what he needed. She couldn't hurt him again. She would have to reveal her eyes and let him see for himself how much of a monster she was and hope he let her go so she could end her brother's life.
Clary took a deep breath as she slowly opened her suddenly very heavy eyelids. she was immediately staring into two golden orbs.
She took a quick intake of breath, waiting for his reaction. She stared into his eyes, waiting for the repulsion and hatred she was expecting g.
But all she found was affection and love. He looked at her no different than before.
As she stared into his eyes, the rest of his face came into focus. she noticed his eyes better than before. aside from the gold and black pupil, his eyes were also bloodshot and there was a very faint shade of purple under his eyes. she wondered how much he slept that night.
She couldn't resist hit raising her hand to caress his cheek in return. She felt him lean into her touch.
Clary felt like she could stay that way for the rest of her life, but she came to realise a searing pain was forming in her side. It was easily ignored at first which was why she didn't notice it, but now that she was no longer worrying over Jace rejecting her, she suddenly felt the pain.
She lowered her hand to clutch her side. she gasped in pain as she shoved Jace away from her. She didn't take into account that with the new strength the demon blood gave her and the fact Jace wasn't prepared, he hit the other side of the elevator with a loud thud. he slid down the wall, Clary could see a dent left, the impression of what she had done.
She didn't get a chance to regret her action as she fell to her knee's clutching her side. The pain was overwhelming. She felt her sight begin to darken once more.
She expected the darkness the pain caused to be what filled her mind, not a voice.
Ti troverò, sorellina
The voice was her brothers, but she didn't ponder what was said or how as she became enveloped in the darkness..
I hope you all like this chapter and I'll have the next one up in a few minutes!
Hope you all had a good Christmas or any other holiday you all celebrated! :)
