When Hermione left James and Sirius and slipped into the girls dormitory she was attacked by a ginger blur yelling, "how was your holidays!? How was the Hogwarts feast I hear it is amazing?" As Lily tackled her into a hug.
Hermione hugged her back and said, "it was fun. Sirius and I got a lot of homework done."
A timid girl, by the name of Lina, stuck hopped out from her bed and excitedly began talking to her. "What!? Sirius has been going to the Potter's house for Christmas since second year. He still goes home for the summer but never for Christmas..." She rambled. Hermione found it strange to see Lina so excited and talkative because she was normally very introverted. She also found it strange how much she knew about Sirius considering they didn't seem to be friends. Although most of the girls paid close attention to the going on of Sirius and his friends.
In the corner of the room Hermione couldn't help notice Marlene watching the group looking extremely gloomy.
Hermione shrugged and explained how Sirius told her he didn't want to impose on the Potter's. Lina and a few other girls began theorizing why he might be imposing at the Potter's. They came up with a few ideas. Some were reasonable such as perhaps the someone in the family is ill. Others were less reasonable like maybe Sirius was rude to them last year.
Hermione plunked down on Lily's bed next to her, "if they spent as much time studying as they did figuring out the minds of boys their grades would be amazing."
Giggling Lily said, "they don't even hangout with them. That's the strangest part." Shaking her head Lily sighed, "that transfigurations essay was so hard."
"Yeah, thank god I had Sirius. He is actually surprisingly good at it."
"Really? I'm shocked you got that boy to do any work at all."
"I know, right? Although he did say I was giving you a run for your money."
Lily's eyes went wide and she flipped her hair, "as if!"
