Hey guys! Sorry I have been inactive for so long. I've just had no time to write and a lot of stuff has happened lately I guess...but it's winter break and I am not busy so here you go! This has been sitting on my computer for a while and I just had time to read through and edit and I decided to post it. Sorry it is so short, I have another chapter and a half written. Fingers crossed it won't take me six months to edit and post it :) Much love. Happy reading!
Chapter 10
Lauren
By the time school had started again, everyone wondered where Percy and Annabeth had gone over spring break. After the day the boys had seen them, they just seemed to disappear and neither had phones. Naturally, in unison, everybody's first question as soon as we saw them walking in to school together was, "Where have you been?We haven't seen you all break!"
Percy seemed to have a new, invigorated glow about him. He looked at Annabeth and said simply, "Home."
"No. Home is where you stay every single freaking day! Why didn't we hang out?" I complained.
"No, he means our real home. Camp. In Long Island," Annabeth clarified.
"Ok that's a slightly better explanation," Olivia said beside me. Nobody seemed to wonder why their summer camp was open in the middle of spring break. Nobody seemed to care much either.
Olivia and Amber turned to Annabeth and gave her a once over, looking her up and down. "You should do volleyball with us!"
Annabeth looked at them hesitantly, "Ummmmm..."
"Ugh. Come On Annabeth. Swim season starts today and Percy's gonna have swimming like every day. And it's not like you're not athletic, I've seen you on the ropes course," Olivia desperately tried to convince her.
All Annabeth did was roll her stormy, gray eyes, but Olivia grinned as if the answer was a yes. Obviously, the answer would be a yes.
Percy
We didn't do much the day after spring break ended. In fact, the entire school was mostly still on that after break buzz. During English, Gavin brought in an entire package of oreos. Naturally, Chris did the thing any other teenaged boy would do with a whole pack of oreos. We all looked on with amusement in our eyes as he took all of the cream out of every oreo and packed it together into one. The end result was two oreo cookies with about 50 oreos worth of cream in between them. "Oreozilla!" He proclaimed and took a picture. What followed was Logan taking a bite of it and nearly bursting into laughter as cream went all over his face. Needless to say, it was a pretty normal morning. The only difference was, I noticed Aiden glancing sadly in our direction a couple times. And every time I tried to make eye contact, he would shyly look away. Well, at least he was keeping his distance from us. I felt a little bad, I guess, but I wasn't really ready to forgive him just yet. I shook my head. I needed to ignore distractions for the swim meet against Manhattan after school.
Then, I learned in Gym, we were doing sword fighting, and I admit, I was pretty excited. I dressed out in my Goode High Tshirt and baggy black shorts and saw the rack of wooden swords and...Jason?
He walked up to me and grinned. I clapped him on the back. "What in the Hades are you doing here?" I asked incredulously.
"I, Percy Jackson, am your new sword fighting teacher," he responded in a pretend authoritative tone.
"Sword-fighting teacher my butt!" I shot back with a teasing smile, earning a glare from our regular gym teacher Mr. Parson. He was slightly bald, and had a gray bushy mustache above his lip. For the most part he was nice and laughed a lot. He seemed to like me, I guess because I was athletic, but he didn't exactly trust me.
I sat on the cold gym floor as Mr. Parson introduced Jason. As he talked, even I noticed the girls swooning at the blondie.
"Thanks Mr. Parson. So I guess with can start with a basic fighting stance, if everyone will grab a sword." Everyone rushed towards the racks of wooden swords. "Ummm Percy here can demonstrate."
Mr. Parson who was sitting in his chair raised his eyebrows at Jason. Perhaps he was now wondering if Jason was even qualified to be doing this. "Are you sure you want Percy demonstrating?" Mr. Parson asked him. The class snickered.
Jason just smiled. "I'm positive. I mean I know he can suck sometimes, but..."
"Haha, you're hilarious," I cut him off.
I let Jason demonstrate by disarming me a few times, just so he could attempt to prove his superiority. Then I countered. He attacked back. "Okay," I grinned,"Let's go Sparky." We got into a duel. I barely registered the class and even Mr. Parson staring at us in disbelief. It sort of went by in a blur. Block. Lunge. Strike. Parry. Finally, I disarmed him with the cruddy, wooden, unbalanced sword I had in my hands and help him up. The whole gym was silent. Well this was awkward. Eventually, Mr. Parson spoke up, "Well, I take it you two know each other."
I grinned, "Yeah. Jason here is like my little brother."
The Son of Zeus shoved me away and smiled. Then he said towards the class, "Ok. I guess the period's over. We'll actually get into the action tomorrow. You can go get dressed now?" he turned questioningly towards Parson, who nodded and the group dispersed.
Tell me what you think in the reviews. I'll be back soon, hopefully! Love you all! :)
Might also be starting a new Percy Jackson Story, idk.
