Chapter 10: The Journey Of Madness

EVER since the day when the first caveman drew animals on the walls of his cave, man has been interested in the art of drawing animals. Then, as now, man sought his in nature. Strangely enough, man visual understanding of animal actions has been slow. However, as humans and also part of nature, man has crawled with his ego to developed this emarginated art that subconsciously rest inside the brain, expressed physically through a little petal of anger that awakens the reckless actions of freedom and wildness. Sometimes, not too often, man has put a various numerous names to it such as "Beast" to this behavior, blaming it for irreversible actions.

On the other hand … those who are aware of their own wild side, and compressed it tight, are believed to have what Selemanayetua, the ex-captain of antiterrorist and member of the master mind team calls: the rate of madness.

The rate of madness is only applicable to "Mr./Mss. Nice" considered people who almost never show their dark or "Negative behavior" yet they manage to live a life without the need to. However, Selemanayetua was forced to do an exhausted mental training of intense analyze canalization regarding this subject, during that period he spent countless hours doing research on it. Each minuscule answer drove his attention towards a new mystery. Considering how his luck turned out, Selemanayetua never in his life expected to be in front of a computer, neither studying the connection between the wild sides of human race expressed similarly to those of an animal, he and his pride where solemnly to active work rather than decisive thinking. As he saw not hope to an end of the research, he convinced his new partner for help, who at the time had shortly mastered every bit of the Mastermind code guide. His partner, who was numerous years younger than him, couldn't contain a smile of happiness, just by the mere fact that Selemanayetua didn't bothered in underestimate his youth –yet saw it as a threat, and on top lower his pride to ask for help knowing so that the young partner was his true role model of intelligence, even if he didn't appeal to others as smart. This fact indeed, filled all the holes of doubts of expectations of whether or not he was suitable and formidable to be the second hand of the mastermind. However, this was not the reason to why the young man agreed, his decision was simply enough as to leave a choice for him. And that choice was that: "Selemanayetua should AT ALL TIMES call him sheriff." Taking this in consideration to his daily routine, Selemanayetua agreed.

The research of the rate of madness was successfully completed years later. At the time, the idea of "The rate of madness" was copiloted to understand the animal behavior of a human, and ultimately after completing the research, lead those results to create a sensor Wi-Fi of madness. It was small enough so that was mistaken with a cell phone; it was a tool that was paid off after seventeen paychecks from Selemanayetua and the Sheriff salary. The Sheriff himself developed the construction of the mechanism of this artifact, however … even though it was tested before, the thought of "Mistake" never crossed the head of the Sheriff until the small monitor showed numbers surpassing the limit calculated. To the present day, the Sheriff regrets having such a negative though, even though he was well aware of the Mijugers, that didn't necessary, classify them as an explanation to the outcomes regarding "The rate of madness" he wanted to destroy every thought of opposition contradicting his genuine ability.

Later on the silent … he heard Selemanayetua talk about how he injected himself four times with a super energizer that keeps people awake and increases reflects tactics depending on the individual, during that period battle, he could not stop himself, in fact he never did. It was all because of one of his subordinates that he was stopped, someone that never appeal to his eyes, that man was … Echidna, whose anger increased his metabolism and strength that made him so unstoppable as to stop him from fighting. Impressive to had remembered so much detail of a battle that lasted less than a minute. He confessed that it was not the strength that he saw appealing from Echidna after such long relationship of underestimation, but his unrecognizable behavior of anger that shined with fire in his eyes.

After the Sheriff realized that out there was a man capable to surpassed anger based on traumatic situations the Sheriff thought having a sensor Wi-Fi of madness was not such a good idea anymore, or perhaps the sensor needed more detail and specific traits that only a criminal or crazy people with animal behavior would attempt to do.

Having those thoughts in mind, the Sheriff preceded to created the most modern well-rounded sensor Wi-Fi of not only madness but also numerous other researched dangerous traits and reflects that perhaps people wouldn't reveal in a regular daily routine. To the present day, the Sheriff and Selemanayetua carry one of the sensors that now are called by the federation of B-D-A and staff, presented officially: The sensor of evolution

Just as expected many in society and police department had no clue that the mastermind team had such an artifact, capable of locating a criminal sooner than expected. The existence of the artifact was kept top secret, but the used of it had full freedom, in fact, the Sheriff and Selemanayetua used it from day one when they got promoted, their entire reputation was build based on their strategies but of course with a little extra help under the table, which actually makes them look even smarter.

Having their reputation build up, the mastermind team no longer needed the use of the sensor of evolution, so it was put a side for a few years while they tested and competed with each other to see which of the two should be the leather – but wait. As to coming across with the Mijugers in the present time, there was no escape to it but to use it, and it was going to happen … right now.

"Hey … Manayetua'sama?" asked the Sheriff through the ear of the man who was lying on his blood with a crushed knee on top of the roof of a Vietnamese Mijugy shop.

He rolled his eyes over and smiled "Don't tell me you came to my rescue unarmed, idiot!"

Sheriff scratched his head "I've a yoyo' on my pocket, don't worry if somebody comes I'll just hit them with my yoyo' … and by the way, you left your shotgun a mile away, it was too heavy and had no bullets so I just … ignored it."

The clouds blocked the sun as the bleeding of Selemanayetua started to dry.

"This is bigger than I had expected." Selemanayetua Murmured between his suffocated lips. The Sheriff put his hand on his pocket and slowly took out the sensor of evolution.

"Indeed … our enemy is ahead of us for the first time." The long gap of silent softly became too heavy. "The data shows not only one but numerous enemies with mayor intelligence, and it's rather unusual to happened. And also, there's something that has been bothering me for a while."

"I strongly recommend you to get out of here while you still have legs."

Sheriff looked down on him as he stood up with an erect posture and focused his attention on the environment: "So, you want me to believe you can handle it by yourself. How selfish of your part. You were a dead man from the beginning. The sensor of evolution doesn't lie to me. The person I been looking all over town using the sensor of evolution analyzing the data of violence based on overdoses of drugs was not an enemy, it was you. For the general part I didn't expect you to use drugs at any point of combat, and to find you hardly ill with a minor wound and no weapon clarifies my suspiciousness. Downstairs is all turned apart, the counterman of the Vietnamese shop is gone, however, I'll easily assume you came at the right moment when everything was still fresh, assuming a Mijuger attacked you would be the most common observation, but keeping in mind the possibility of something else would calm my head a little bit. Asserting my conclusions depends on you updating me on what happened!"

"Of course, but before that, have you brought what I-"

"Who do you think I am, c'mon you're offending my reputation, here - take it." Sheriff threw a white chocolate bar.

Selemanayetua cached, opened and bit it "Mmm, I feel as if I was reborn again!"

Sheriff laughed in the background: "Oh come on, this is NOT a commercial."

Selemanayetua took a deep breath as he pushed himself up and stood up showing off an alpha posture. "I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER NOW, MY PAIN IS GONE!"

"I JUST TOLD YOU THIS IS NOT A COMMERCIAL!"

"I know, but I'm so into white chocolate right now, I mean I love it, I love it!"

"So much girly side for an ex-captain."

"What? Did-did you said something?"

"No, nothing."

The smoke of an explosion could be seen touching the clouds of the blue sky. The Sheriff and his partner looked at each other keeping the silent.

Selemanayetua's expression suddenly changed: "Have you come across an enemy today at all?"

"Not exactly, the sensor detecting abnormal abilities suddenly went from one individual with minor power to the same individual becoming more into the mayor zone problem, so much of a problem as to take over the screen of the sensor. I can hardly say that this has happened before, he/she or whatever it is, has become number one public enemy, moving around the city, perhaps taking lives. I've been close enough to detect it but not enough to see it myself. Do you know anything about it Manayetua'Sama?"

"It's a Mijuger that is buying as many pop-cans as he can. I only saw him once, I was tailing him because I though he took the pop-can from the evidence van, however, he might as well had something to do with the crime scene, anyways the important thing to consider is that he's dangerous. When I realized he went inside of a Mijuger shop my antennas went up, the last thing I remember is that as I went in I saw his face and he knock me hard in the face, he had already taken a bran new pop-can from a Vietnamese shop, I don't know what kind of power it was, I just remember been upset about it, so I stood up blindly and took him on a fight, I had to play it smart, so I injected myself with morphine, a few antibiotics and of course a hard head super energizing doses. We know how the rest ended up."

The Sheriff nodded away "Poor Manayetua'Sama, may be you're not suited for fights."

"SHUDUP!"

The Sheriff and Selemanayetua could hear the whistle of the Knuckles moving across the dark alleys of the city.

"Oh well, let's head to where the enemy is at." Selemanayetua started walking with speed, then stopped and looked back.

"Hey! Come on, aren't we a team after all? why are you staying behind?"

"There's something that's been bothering me for a while."

"You already said that, what is it?"

"The sensor of evolution was originally and ultimately create to follow by number the extent of human evolution, but I mostly tricked and modified to focus more into brain evolution. Out of all people in this city only 0.02% of the populations have met the standards –yet one of the few happened to be involved in this mess."

Selemanayetua recapped the silent and the previous pain in his body came back in a thunder shiver: "What about it?"

Sheriff compressed his face: "I believe this person took the can from the evidence van, the numbers on the sensor doesn't lie, he's our mayor problem, if he happened to properly use his skills, he might as well be our formidable enemy."

"Let's find out." Said Selemanayetua with a smile moving forwards; the Sheriff casually followed him towards the direction where the answer awaits.
