It felt as if there was nothing he wouldn't do to win Zoe back. During the past week he had almost forgotten that he was a lawyer. That wasn't very good. He needed to remember that. So he took a step back. He was sitting on his porch, looking out over the water. His brain was working. He had the list that Candice had given him of things she liked. There were so many things that were in New York. Her favorite Bagels were one of them. Not to mention on the list were her favorite macaroons. Staring at the list he began to get an idea. One that he knew would give her a reason to think twice about what she thought of him. It was only the beginning. She would see, he would make sure of it, that they were right for one another.

Standing, he walked into the cabin of the boat and looked around. Putting his plan into action was going to take some time. Spending that time here wouldn't be wise. Not with that childish friend of Zoe's in town. Once they were together, he'd see to it that she wasn't around his Zoe. His lips curved into a smirk as he decided that he was going to spend a few days in New York getting together everything that she loved. With that in mind he began to do what he needed to do.

Three days after Wade and Zoe had gone to Earls, Lexi was starting to get nervous. No one had heard of seen from George in that time. Candice was walking around town like she was better than everyone else. So while she had time to herself, with Zoe and Wade both at work she was alone in the carriage house.

She stood in the middle of the bedroom with her hands on her hips and looked around her. It was hers now. So she needed to make it hers. With that in her head, she moved to the windows. The curtains came down quickly, letting in the light from outside. She would wait to take the sheets off the bed until she went online and ordered some. She continued to take things down and clean for the next couple of hours. She was in the front lawn when she saw a delivery truck pull up at her friends across the pond. She also saw at the same time what she had learned was Burt Reynolds, Lavons pet, headed towards her. She screamed and ran back inside and watched as he settled in, in the middle of the lawn and fell asleep. All she could do was watch as a bunch of flowers were left on Wades porch.

Her gut told her they were from George. It seemed that she had had a right to be nervous. She pulled her phone out and called Lavon, so he could get his damn amphibian out of her yard.

"I sent her flowers and boxes of macaroons. They should be getting there sometime today."

"I'll call her this evening and ask her if she got them. How are things going in New York?"

"Very well. I've managed to convince some of the chefs at her favorite places to come down. Make her a dinner she will never forget."

"That's wonderful. That boy would never do something like that for her. He couldn't even if he wanted to. He wouldn't be able to afford it. Have you figured out where you are going to have this dinner yet?"

"I've got this cabin I'm going to rent. It'll get us outside of Bluebell and away from nosy people. I know she is going to love it."

"What in the world?"

"Wade, why are there flowers all over our porch?"

"I'm not sure."

"Tucker." Zoe growled. She had the car door opened before he even had the car stopped. He could tell by the way she had all but jumped out of the car, that she was annoyed. When he joined her on the porch she was staring at a large package. His eyebrow shot up.

"Want me to open it?"

"No. Throw it away. Burn the flowers. This has my mother written all over it. This…" She waved the card from one of the many spreads of flowers. "…is the name of the flower boutique I always got flowers from in New York. That box probably holds something else from New York. I don't want it. I don't want these. I don't want him. This has got to stop." She grabbed up the nearest arrangement of flowers and heaved it into the yard. The glass vase shattered and the flowers went everywhere. Wade could see she was upset. He just wondered if it was because George had given her her favorite things from New York or because they both had a feeling that her mother was behind it.
