I'm back people and I'm ready for some action. This chapter took a little longer than I would have hoped since I had to write up a couple of college applications. To anyone who is in high school and not a senior, don't put it off. It's time consuming. Enough ranting. I just want to say that I am moving this story to the main ROTG fanfic page since it doesn't feel much like a crossover. That's enough announcements so on with the story.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the ROTG or HP characters, just Abby.

Chapter 10

"I don't see the point of wearing this thing."

"Oh shut up already, it's for protection."

"Protection? I look like we're going to a Renaissance fair."

"How many times do I have to say it? I was born in the DARK AGES!"

"Is there a difference?"

"Are you purposely being a bloody idiot?"

"Hey!"

Pitch swore that if the two don't quiet down sometime soon, he would personally disembowel them. The three have journeyed from the Inbetween to the rolling hills of Scotland where in those moments the teens have argued the entire time. They were hiking up a cliffside when he finally had it.

"If you two don't quiet down in the next five seconds, I will send you both into your deepest darkest fears for the next five decades."

Both teens stopped before they took on an expression of children caught with their hands in a cookie jar. The teens took that moment to grumble under their breaths. Pitch rolled his eyes and cast a critical eye over the teens.

It was actually a relief to see Jack out of the rags he called clothes and Abigail in something more befitting her status. Abigail was able to force Jack into a thigh length chain mail dress, a leather tunic with a hood, leather wraps on his feet, gloves, and a harness for his staff. Abigail wore a chest plate with her family insignia over a thigh length chain mail dress, elbow and knee guards, gauntlets, and metal boots. She had gold cape thrown over one shoulder and took the time to pull her hair into a low ponytail and placed a designed helmet over her head.

The trio exited the forest that led to a cliff outcropping when Jack let out a humph. "I don't see why we're walking, when either of you two could have transported us there." Baby Tooth let out a chirp of agreement from his shoulder.

Abby held back a groan as they followed Pitch to the cliff edge. "If you bothered to pay attention, you would know that it would be basically impossible. Even though there has been no one to renew spells around the castle, the wards are meant to hold strong against intruders."

"Technically you're not an intruder since it's your home."

"But a wizard can change the purpose of a ward if given the time and opportunity."

Jack hummed under his breath. "You never really told me about this guy. You know him, and so does everyone else. Except me. What was he to you?"

Abby looked down for a moment as she got her thoughts in order. "Thomas Slytherin. In my past life he was one of my suitors." Jack stared at her wide-eyed but it went unnoticed. "He was considered a prodigy at the time. He was considered the most cunning man of the age, but he was cruel. He was an idealist. He thought that only pure bloods should sit on the throne. Wizards with only magical blood, nothing from the common man. My brother and I are half n half; Dad was a pure blood and mum was of common blood. We weren't half as worthy to sit on the throne in his eyes."

"Wow," Jack said impressed and a bit concerned. "And I thought your culture can't get any more complicated."

"Like magic, wizards have and will always be complicated." Pitch grinned down at Jack sardonically. "What? You didn't think I wouldn't figure out about the haven. I found out after a few centuries after the twins existence. I'm surprised the Guardians haven't put the pieces together, Sanderson maybe." A frown formed on Boogeyman's face. "Now if you two are quite done, we have arrived."

The trio looked out from the edge of the cliff and into the valley below. Nestled between two mountains was an ocean like lake stretching out to the north. At the shores was a gloomy looking forest encompassing the ruins of a castle. Once kept grounds were surrounded by shrubs and trees of all sizes. Turrets lay in chunks on the ground, along with crumbled walls.

Jack looked over to Abby to see that she had a faraway look in her eyes. Pitch glanced down at his young charge and placed a soothing hand on her back. That brought the immortal teen out of her trance.

"Jack, welcome to the kingdom of Aquilonis Montes."

Unknown to the trio, a shadowed figure saw their arrival and immediately left it's post. The creature drifted into the castle halls and entered the Great Hall. The Dementor stopped before its King's throne before relaying its news.

Tom sat in his throne with a sadistic smile spreading across his face. The large snake by his side let out a malicious hiss that showed off her large fangs. His guest has finally arrived along with company. He was a little put out that all the Guardians didn't show up, but one was more than enough. He can make an example out of the winter spirit.

"Bring them to me," he hissed. Loud screeches echoed around the hall from many of the wizard hybrids as they quickly left to do their King's bidding. He let out a high-pitched laugh as the air swirled with dark magic.

The trio turned as they heard the screeches and saw the masses exit the structure. Jack's eyes widened as he saw how many were coming at them. Jack quickly took his staff off his back and got in a fighting position.

"They've been busy," he remarked as Abby and Pitch pulled out their weapons.

"It's all the souls they stole from the Inbetween," Abby growled as she readied her sword. She stepped to the side to avoid a spell. "And they can use their magic. Fantastic."

Pitch swung his scythe as the first wave of approached them and watched as the creatures burst into shadows before the souls disappeared from existence. Abby forgo the use of her sword and summoned her own staff. As she swung the staff, bolts of energy hit the hybrids as they tried to defend themselves. A couple of the creatures dodged the attack sent their own. Jack took to the air as he swung his staff and sent bolts of winter magic. The creatures dropped like flies and shattered into pieces when they hit the ground.

The winter spirit started to slow down as more of creatures came at them. One of the creatures was able to send a spell at him, and a moment later he hit the ground next to Abby. The female death spirit jumped a bit before she looked down at the fallen winter spirit. Jack already looked exhausted and weak from being in close proximity of the creatures. Abby knew that Jack would tire easily since the Dementors feed off of every happy emotion, and the winter spirit was like a buffet to them.

Pitch noticed sent a wave of his nightmares at the demented hybrids. The nightmares let out loud neighs as thy charged the creatures. The wizard/Dementor hybrids let out screeches as they accepted the challenge. As the two creatures fought, Pitch helped Jack onto his feet but had to support most of his weight.

"This mission was doomed to fail from the very beginning," Pitch stated as Jack leaned on his staff. "We must retreat Abigail."

Abby sent a wave of bludgeoning curses before she sharply faced the older spirit. "I am not leaving my brother."

Pitch whistled and one his nightmares raced over to them. She let out a neigh as she trotted to a stop. The Nightmare King helped the weakened winter spirit onto the mare before he faced the former princess.

"That is not up for discussion." Without warning he lifted Abby onto the mare in front of Jack. The winter spirit placed his staff in his holster before he gripped the shadowy mane.

They turned at the sound of dying cries and saw that the Dementors broke through the line of Nightmares. Pitch's eyes widened before he threw his hands up and a wall of nightmare sand appeared. He turned back to the teens and noticed the nightmare was getting edgy.

"Jack, I need you and Abigail to get out of here right now and get to somewhere safe." Jack looked at him conflicted as he looked down at the female death spirit then the black sand wall as it shuddered at the force of the hybrids attack.

"Jackson Overland Frost, I may be your enemy but do as I say." Jack looked down at Pitch in shock for him not only using his full name, but also how firm it was. They both turned as the black sand wall finally collapsed and the Dementors rushed them. Pitch formed his scythe and destroyed the first line of Dementors.

"JACK," he shouted. "Get out of here right now. Take Abigail and run. GO!"

Jack's eyes widened as he nudged the nightmare into a run. He didn't notice Abby wasn't paying attention as she was stuck in a flashback of a similar situation.

FLASHBACK:

Soldiers were falling from both sides from the use of either killing curses or stab wounds. However, the battle continued as the sides fought for dominance in the war. The young King Harold fought along side his twin sister and her fiancé as they tried to push back the evil wizards. It was for naught.

A stallion galloped past them with a young soldier atop of it. The soldier fell as a killing curse struck him. Harold took a look around as the odds for survival dwindled. Without a second thought he grabbed his sister's waist and threw her onto the stallions back.

Abby let out a gasp and gripped on the reins with one hand, then threw up a shield spell to block with another. She looked down at her brother in concern. "Fratres, quia, quae te perturbabant?"

Harry ignored her and pushed Gyric towards the stallion while avoiding the spells sent at him. Gyric gave his long time friend a confused look as he got on the horse. The auburn headed man seated himself behind his fiancé and took the reins from her.

"Hoc nihil est, quia socius belli fuit." Harry sent a spell at a dark wizard. "Casus armorum semper et fratres, usque ad id quod ne. Utrumque opus est, statim in fugam ex proelio."

Abby stared at her brother in fear as his words became clear to her. She quickly shook her head at her brother's commands. "Pacem relinquo vobis, non me rex."

Harry gave his sister a sad smile as he reached out and gripped his sister's hand. "Mandans ut regem non sum tibi, et frater. Ne soror iterum mox occurremus." He turned when he heard one of his soldiers scream bloody murder.

His eyes widened when they settled on Thomas Slytherin's figure. The dark lord had a sadistic smile on his face as he yanked his sword out of a poor man's chest and tried to wipe the blood off. He turned his red-eyed gaze on the royal siblings, and a hungry look appeared in them. Thomas let out a dark chuckle as he made his way toward them.

Harry hastily threw up a shield spell just as Thomas sent a dark spell at them. "Regressus," he shouted. " Regressus ad castra!" The young King turned back to Gyric with an intense gaze in his eyes as his army began to retreat. "Gur elit. Accipite, et soror mea, run."

Gyric stared at his best friend with horror but he understood what he had to do. He reached down and gripped his arm. " Ut custodiant te Nabuchodonosor rex." Harry squeezed his friend's arm in reassurance. " Vos amici mei."

Harry released the arm and turned to defend himself against Thomas' attacks. Gyric's eyes widened before he kicked the horse into a run. The horse neighed as he it raced across the field. The heir of Gryffindor held onto the reins tightly with one hand and wrapped his free arm around his fiancés waist while ignoring her cries to stop.

Abby watched in horror as her brother fought against the dark lord in order to give his men time to escape. She watched as blood was spilled, lives were taken, and the ground was stained red.

Abby was jerked out of her thoughts as spells start whizzing past their heads. She felt Jack loosening his grip on the mare and knew he wouldn't last long. She let out a scream as a spell finally hit its mark and disintegrated the mare.

The teen spirits collapsed onto the ground and lay still for a moment. Abby lifted her head, and saw that Jack had finally passed out from the energy being taken from him. The female spirit shot to her feet and raced over to her fallen friend. She tried to lift him up but despite his thin frame, he was quite heavy.

A yelp escaped her as a spell pushed her away and ropes wrapped around her frame. She landed on the floor with her legs tied together along with her arms. She heard a rustle of movement and struggled against her bonds. A gasp escaped her as one of the Dementor hybrids glided up to her.

She stared at it wide eye in recognition before it smiled cruelly at her. She didn't dare move as the face of Lucius Malfoy leered. The last thing she saw was the fist that was upon her.

From the cover of the forest, Baby Tooth winced as Abby's head smacked the floor. She looked around to see the Nightmare King trapped in a cage of light with chains wrapped around his arms and torso and Jack being carried over the shoulder of another hybrid. The one that knocked Abby out snarled menacingly at her unconscious form, and raised a sharp talon hand above his head.

One of the other hybrids rushed forward and made a series of hisses and screeches. The Dementor eventually lowered its clawed hand and glared at its smaller comrade. He looked around and let out a high-pitched screech.

Baby Tooth watched as the Dementors drag a struggling Pitch away along with the unconscious Jack. The lead Dementor bent down and carelessly threw Abby over its shoulder. It followed its subordinates as they drifted to the crumbling castle.

The small fairy fluttered out of the safety of the forest before she hovered over the cliff edge. She watched as the creatures enter the castle before they were gone from sight. She hovered back and forth in apprehension at what to do.

With her small size she could easily enter the castle without detection and free the trio, but they could also still be weak from their fight. There was also the chance that she would get caught. Although Jack was still angry with her mother and her friends, she needed to get their help. Jack needed their help, Abby as well. And even if he loathed to admit it, Pitch needed their help.

With her mind made up, she flew off into the sky in the direction of the North Pole. As she flew off, the moon watched over her in protection.
