I used to hate ladder mode. I still do, even if I don't play anymore ^^'

This also happened during one of my matches.

Lexi walked into the ladder section of the arena. Putting on her last piece of defensive equipment, her beret (which was actually a hairband, but was called a beret by the shopkeeper). In the regular section of the colosseum she would not have bothered wearing all her armour, but in the ladder section, what you wear could determine whether you lose or win a match.

Of course, not by whether you looked good or not, but simply by the impact that one would take from another's attacks, which would lead to those without good armour and weapons being knocked out faster unless they were experts of their respective classes and masters of dodging.

While waiting for her name to be called, Lexi heard the faint sound of footsteps heading towards her. "Good luck, sis!" Her younger sister, Enllyn, called. "We'll watch you from the stands!"

Lexi smiled at her sister's enthusiasm. She wished she could share that same confidence her sister had in her. Unlike her slightly-trigger-happy sister, she was always doubting her own abilities to kill monsters and opponents in matches. Her name was called to go to a room for the ladder match.

Readying her weapon, she walked into the small grey arena. Standing on the opposite side of the room was a Smasher. With an air of arrogance, the Sorceress mocked her. "Hmph, is this really all that they can give me for an opponent?"

Lexi gripped her weapon tighter, determined not to let the Sorceress' words get to her. "Start!", yelled the referee.

Setting up towers around the central statue was a strategy Lexi had been using since she started fighting in the ladder section of the Colosseum. The Sorceress began blinking in and out of the range of the towers, causing them to miss her completely.

Lexi threw a purple bomb at the Sorceress, which would have given her a migraine from the impact if it had actually hit. Trying to keep the pressure up, she continued throwing whatever she had in the Smasher's general direction. Ducks, bombs and lasers were flying everywhere.

"Spectrum Shower!", the Smasher yelled.

"Did she just say 'Passion Flower'? Nice move name you've got there... Oh." One of the lasers caught her and sent her flying backwards.

Suddenly, the Sorceress teleported right next to Lexi. She had fought Smashers before. She knew what they did. A split second before the Smasher froze her in time, she dodged to the side and ran away, quickly summoning Alfredo. "You can't escape!" The Sorceress shouted. "Laser Cutter!" Bracing herself for the impact of a giant laser falling from the sky, she squeezed her eyes shut. The impact never came.

She looked up and saw the shape of the other girl lying on the ground, defeated. Walking over to her fallen opponent, Lexi wondered how the Sorceress had fallen before she had.

"How did you fall, miss?" She asked the brown-clad girl.

"It... Laser beam..." she said weakly before collapsing on the ground.

Triumphantly strolling out of the arena, she ran into a friend.

"Hey, how did you manage to defeat her?"

"Well... She missed her Time Stop and as a result, Laser Cutter."

"That's quite a grave mistake you know."

"Yep, I know."

"A Smasher without Laser Cutter..."

"...might as well be a Force User again."

As I've mentioned several times before, these stories are 1-2 years old. I also stopped playing Dragon Nest, so I suppose this is the last one.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my story!

Goodbye!
