—The Promise Of Origami—
A Fairy Tail Fanfiction
Written By: Mari Kia Aishiteru
The blonde haired celestial mage spent her time recuperating for the following days. Though, she got tired of staying in her apartment after the third day and visited the guild for the first time ever since she woke up.
It had been a hassle.
Every member of the guild was so relieved to see her well and alright to the point that they didn't want to leave her side. She became the center of attention and received questions of "are you alright now?" every five minutes.
Yes, she kept counting.
It had been very annoying, yes, but she didn't have the heart to snap at them when they were asking so worriedly. All she could do was to answer and reassure them every time.
Natsu and the others were of no help to her either, since they were the source of her stress. As much as she loves them, she couldn't help but grit her teeth in frustration with their reprimands.
Yes, they scolded her.
She couldn't do anything by herself anymore. They always follow her, as if she was going to disappear if they didn't look after her. Even Erza was in this.
She could feel a headache coming.
It has been a week since she woke up and she was glad that the guild stopped giving her special attentions. But, her team was still the same. She should talk to them, she had decided.
So, one night when they were all gathered in her apartment, she took the opportunity to speak her mind.
"Uh, guys... I want to talk about something..." she began. With these words, her teammates gazed at her with an inquiring gaze.
The Resurrection of the Great Celestial Mage Arc
Episode 09
Awakened Star: The Attack
"What is it, Lucy?" Natsu asked, sitting in front of her on the floor. Erza, who was checking out her chest drawer, moved towards her as well, settling on the floor next to Natsu. Gray stayed on the chair in front of Lucy's desk but turned to face her. Wendy, Happy and Charle sat on Lucy's bed.
"I...hope you understand what I'm about to tell you guys..."
They all stared at her as she continued, "I know you are all worried about me... But it has been a week since I woke up and I'm okay now. So..." she smiled awkwardly at them. "Can you please stop following me around?"
Team Natsu, except Lucy, with Wendy and Charle just stared at her.
Silence enveloped the room.
Lucy felt like it would suffocate her.
"Uh... Guys?"
"But Lucy..." Natsu began, with a worried look on his face. Lucy was annoyed. "We are just..."
"They are not going back." she muttered. Erza and the others perked at this. "They are not going to get me again." Lucy faced her teammates. "They already got what they want from me so you guys can stop worrying." She smiled. "And I want to have my privacy back if you would just let me."
The boys stared at her while Erza and Wendy exchanged glances. The scarlet-haired mage nodded and smiled at the blond.
"We are sorry Lucy. If that's what you wish then we shall refrain from doing the things you are not comfortable with."
"Erza..."
"I didn't realize that you are uncomfortable..." The red haired mage mumbled with raised fist and depressed expression. "And I call myself your friend... You can punish me or yet, please punish me!"
Lucy sweat dropped at this declaration and awkwardly giggled. "Ah... No... I don't plan to do that, and as long as you understand it's okay..."
Erza nodded with tears gathered in her eyes. "You're really a great person Lucy!" she declared, patting her shoulder. Lucy was glad she wasn't clad in her heart kreuz armor or her arm would be nothing but history now.
Okay, that was exaggerated... She thought.
She turned to Wendy and the two cats. They smiled at her and gave her a thumbs-up. She returned the gesture. The blond turned to Gray who nodded. She thanked him and finally stared at Natsu, who was staring right back at her.
"Natsu?"
"I'm always here though, Lucy."
"Yeah, you always barged in here even something like this doesn't exist."
The dragon slayer grinned and Lucy couldn't help but did the same. He was always there for her and she was happy with that.
"Happy! Let's sleep on Lucy's bed!"
"Aye!"
It got on her nerves sometimes though.
"NAAAATSU...!"
"Ah, Natsu-san!"
"Oi, Natsu! You flame idiot!"
"Lucy, you can do whatever you want with him."
"Thanks for the permission, Erza..."
"Waaaah... Lucy is scaaaary...!"
"Luuuuuucy! I'm soooorry!"
"You baaaaakaaaaa...!"
Aaaahhh~ It was going to be a long night.
The trip was longer than they thought. It had been a whole day since they left their headquarters and they were still half the way to their destination. The blond haired woman clad in black as well as her companions walked down in the forest, with the chilled gust of wind waved their cloaks.
It had been a week since she was awoke from her slumber. She couldn't remember anything about her past. She had ask the man who wake her up, and was told that she was his wife.
She couldn't remember him though. Not at all.
She couldn't feel anything about him too. And also, the two teenagers who were with them.
He told her that they were his and her children.
She couldn't deny that fact since the young woman resembled her too much and the young man resembled her in some ways. They also called the man their father, and she, their mother.
With those few days she spent with them, she felt their warmth and it gave her enough reason to believe what the man had told her. Her husband, Zen, was gentle and kind to her. She could feel that he loved her so much.
She wondered how long she had been sleeping.
She asked him that question but he never told her. She tried to ask the teenagers but they only both smiled sadly and shook their heads.
It must have been painful for them, especially for the man he called himself his husband.
She wanted to pay them. She wanted to give them the presence and the warmth they needed from a mother and a wife. She had been so guilty thinking how much pain she had caused them in her absence.
She had been so emotionless towards them for three days but when she had talked to Athena and Cygnus, she couldn't help but be influenced by their happy aura. Especially Athena's happy-go-lucky attitude was contagious. She slowly opened up to them and to Zen, who regarded her as his precious person.
As they walked, she remembered the guild he had told her about. This guild was a nuisance to their life as a family. Zen explained to her that this official guild had taken her away from them and used her for their own accord.
She was also told that she had a daughter from that guild.
She didn't know whether to be happy or be mad or be sad about it. But, when she heard that she bore that said daughter because she was sexually abused was a different story.
She surely didn't want to see that daughter.
She was the proof that she had been out of her family's life which made them suffer.
It made her think that it was that official guild's fault.
"Mother?"
Athena's voice rang in her ears and she turned to her with a smile. "Oh, what is it, Athena?"
"Are you alright?" the blond girl asked with a worried expression on her face. She shook her head and smiled reassuringly at her.
"I'm fine."
"But you are spacing out, and your facial expression is scary that I wonder what you are thinking about."
The older blond haired lady sighed.
"Are you thinking about what father had told you?" Cygnus piped in, staring at the older lady.
She stared at the young boy and then, at the young girl in front of her. She patted both of their heads softly and gently.
"I'm sorry."
"For what?" they asked in unison.
"For letting myself get captured by that guild." She replied. "It must have been hard for the two of you."
The twins exchanged glances with a small smile on their faces. They both shook their heads at the woman they called their mother.
"It's alright. As long as you're here now, that's all that matters." Athena told her, and gave a bright grin.
Cygnus stayed silent and stared at the two woman. He and his sister knew that they have to keep this lie façade as long as they had to.
For the sake of their Father's ideals.
For the sake of their happiness.
"Layla."
Said older lady turned behind her and saw her husband walked towards them.
"What's wrong?"
Layla Heartfilia, or rather, known currently as only Layla, shook her head and smiled softly. "Nothing's wrong."
Zen smiled at her. "Then, let us go."
"Hn." She nodded in agreement, walking ahead with Athena. She was probably closest to her since they were both women and they understood each other.
Cygnus turned to his father. "Are you happy right now, Father?"
"Hm?" the older man was staring at Layla and Athena's retreating form. "Yes, I am happy, Cygnus."
The young blond boy smirked. "That's good."
Zen tapped the boy on his shoulder and pushed him ahead. "Come on."
"Hn."
Morning came and Natsu, Happy, Erza, Gray, Wendy and Charle excused themselves after breakfast had been served by Lucy. They told her that they would see them later that day at the guild. Lucy had waved them goodbye with a wide smile on her face. They had talked so much last night after she had punished Natsu with her kick. The group also decided to take a mission. Her rent was on due soon and she was penniless, and if she didn't do something, she would be homeless.
Erza would choose the mission later on and they decided to meet at the guild before noon.
The blond haired girl savored the warmth of her bath. It felt like a long time since she did it. Because of the circumstances these past week, she had been worried.
What would happen now? What would they do next?
Lucy sighed. What would she do now?
Now, that her mother was alive…
No, she shook her head. She isn't alive. It is just a puppet without a soul. She is moving because of my magical power. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a soulless puppet.
That was what she wanted to believe.
But, when I see her… I don't know what to do… I don't know what to say…
She gazed downward dejectedly.
Her head submerged in the water while bubbles emerged.
The scarlet-haired wizard sat on her usual seat at the bar as she eyed the guild. She was thankful that finally, peace had settled in the guild once again. It looked like what happened last week didn't occur at all. But she wondered on how long it will last.
She took a sip on her drink that Mirajane had given her earlier. She couldn't help but think of what would happen from now on. She had a foreboding feeling that it was not the end. It was only the beginning.
She let out a sigh. They shouldn't let their guard down. Something would happen. And she knew it.
She met gazes with Master Makarov who was also observing his children from the second floor. Erza was sure that the old Master of Fairy Tail was indulged in his own thoughts just like her. She saw him nodded and she returned the gesture. He trusted her to look after his children and Erza didn't plan on letting him down.
Her gaze turned to the door. Lucy had not yet come to the guild. It was near noon and they had been waiting for her. She had already picked out a job for them to do. It was a simple mission of taking out a group of notorious robbers in Clover Town. It would be a good practice for Lucy who had just recovered her powers back.
She saw Natsu and Gray who were bickering loudly, something about a lost underwear. She guessed it was Natsu teasing Gray again for his lack of clothing. Happy was cheering for his pink haired friend on the sidelines. She decided to let them be since they would be very foolish to fight with her in the guild premises. Her eyes wandered on the mission board and saw the resident water mage searching for a job. She was wondering why she hadn't been stalking Gray just like any other day.
She's going on a mission, huh? She thought to herself as Juvia looked like finally decided on one and walked towards the bar. The door suddenly burst open and Erza's attention went to Lucy, who had just come in. She greeted her teammates, who returned her gesture. Their eyes met, and she went towards her with Natsu, Gray and Happy in tow.
"Erza, what's our job?" Lucy asked as soon as they reached her.
"Ah, here." She offered the paper to her and the celestial mage scanned it with her eyes. She nodded with a smile.
"Okay, this seems fun."
"Great, we're going now."
"Finally! We're going on a mission!"
They all prepared to leave the guild when they saw the water mage on her way out of the door.
"Juvia!" Lucy called out as she ran towards her.
The water mage stopped as she heard her name being called. "Oh, love rival." She greeted with a straight face.
"And I told you I'm not!" She said back, gritting teeth.
"You are also going on a mission?" Erza asked.
"Yes, Erza-san." Juvia said.
"What kind of mission is it?" Gray inquired, curious. Juvia smiled at her loved one and shyly exclaimed, "Gray-sama is worried about Juvia!"
The ice mage's face fell and he shook his head at her antics. "Ah, no, I'm just curious."
Juvia pouted but replied to his earlier inquiry. "Juvia is going to Acalypha to exterminate monsters in the town's nearby forest."
"That sounds more fun!" Natsu exclaimed receiving a glare from Erza. He hid behind Lucy as he trembled. Lucy could only sigh. She turned to Juvia, who was still staring at the ice mage who was scampering to find his lost shirt.
"Acalypha, huh?" Suddenly, she had thought of an idea. To stop Juvia from calling her a love rival, why don't she…
"Juvia," she got the water mage's attention and exclaimed happily, "Why don't you go with us on the way?" she offered. "We're going to Clover Town, two stations from Acalypha."
"Really?" the girl was ecstatic with the idea. "Juvia accepts! Juvia want to stare at Gray-sama more!"
"Ah… umm…" Gray rubbed his cheeks with his finger. Looked like he finally finished wearing his shirt and was ready to go.
"Then, let's go." Erza ordered and they all moved quickly.
They didn't want to mess with the scarlet-haired wizard's order.
Lucy smiled along the way as Juvia seemed happy to be with the love of her life before her mission. She wouldn't be able to see him while she and them was on their own missions. She was happy for Juvia to be with Gray for a little while. They sat next to each other in the train, while next to their cart were Natsu and Happy, the former battling with his motion sickness as usual. Across those two were Lucy and Erza.
The ice mage stared at the view outside of the window while the water mage stared at him. It was silent between them and Gray knew that she was staring at him. And he was quite disturbed of being stared at.
"Juvia." He called out, still staring outside.
"Yes, Gray-sama?" she replied, still staring at him.
"Will you please stop staring at me?" he said. "It's… disturbing."
The water mage leaned on her seat and lowered her eyes. "Hai, Juvia's sorry." She told him.
Gray looked at her and felt a little guilty for saying that it was disturbing. "You don't have to apologize," he began. "It was just… I'm not used to someone staring at me so…"
He saw Juvia smiled at him. "It's okay, Gray-sama. Juvia know that."
Gray sighed.
"That is the reason why Juvia always stare at Gray-sama from afar."
"So that's it?"
Lucy giggled a little at their short conversation. She would be happy if Gray and Juvia get together. They looked so cute as a couple. But the problem was on Gray. He never showed any interest in anyone, even though he was very close on certain female members of the guild which include her, Cana, Mira and especially Erza.
Well, if only he could give Juvia a chance…
Lucy would be glad to not be called a love rival by the water mage anymore.
"We are near to our destination." Zen told Layla who was standing next to him. The blond haired lady smiled. "I'm glad."
Zen embraced her close to him. "Our happiness is near."
"Yes." Layla replied in a soft voice. She wanted to be with this man and their children and she would do anything for that wish to come true.
"We are going to conquer Acalypha." He declared in a clear voice.
"I can't wait." She said, lips curved in a smile. "We're going to be together forever."
The man nodded. "Yes, together forever."
The two teenagers exchanged small smiles.
They were going to create their own happiness, with their own hands.
"Juvia's station is here." She said as she walked out of the opened door.
"Take care Juvia." Lucy waved at her with a smile.
"See you in the guild." Gray told her with a smirk.
"Hai! Take care on your mission Gray-sama!" she exclaimed as the door closed.
The train started to move and Juvia stared at it until it was out of her sight. Her bright smile remained as she walked out of the station.
She wanted to finish this mission quickly so she can see her Gray-sama again.
Upon arriving in Clover, Team Natsu went straight to their client, which was the mayor of the town. It seemed like that the town citizens were being harassed of these thieves. They robbed houses even though there were people inside. They had guns, bows and arrows and swords so the citizens were too afraid to take a risk.
Team Natsu went on their way after promising the mayor that they were going to teach those thieves a lesson that they would never going to forget.
"They are pretty bold in this don't you think?" Lucy commented as they continued on the forest where the mayor and the citizens suspected that the thieves had been hiding.
"They are, right?" Wendy agreed. "They have the guts to rob the houses even though there are people inside." Charle said. "What idiot thieves they are."
"Well, that's alright." Erza spoke. "We are bolder than them."
Gray smirked at that. "Right."
Natsu sniffed and snickered as he leaned close to the trees. "I can hear the bastards. They are close." the dragon slayer stated.
"Alright!" Erza faced her teammates. "We are going to ambush them. Now let's go!"
All of them nodded with a unison reply of "Hai!"
The thieves were celebrating another successful spree from a rich citizen in the town. If this continues, they were going to be rich. But, they already robbed most of the houses in Clover Town. It was the time to move out of that town and search for another one.
Soon, they heard a noise from the bushes and a group of people went out in the open in front of them.
"Who are you?" the leader shouted at the teens.
"Oh, you have the guts to ask us who we are."
"Sir, look!" one of the thieves said as he pointed to the naked man.
Lucy saw this and slapped his forehead. "Gray, your clothes, again." she gritted her teeth. The raven haired ice mage looked over himself and cursed. "Damn! Not again!"
The leader eyed the ice mage in disbelief. "That mark..."
He pointed at them with trembling arms. "Fairy Tail Mages!"
The three strongest mages smirked as they attacked the leader with fast reflexes. The other thieves had their eyes wide as they counter attack but the three mages at the center easily overpowered them.
Meanwhile, the members left of Team Natsu stood by near the bushes that they came from and looked on with a sweatdrop.
"Well… they didn't need us to do anything, right, Wendy?" Lucy asked.
"Hai…"
After a few minutes, the fighting had ceased and all of the thieves lay down on the ground, bruised and unconscious. The three mages came out victorious.
"Ha! They didn't even manage to touch me!"
"Not only you, fire breath!"
"What did you say, Ice prick?!"
A glare from Erza stopped the incoming brawl.
"Lucy, Wendy, a little help with the things please." Erza turned to them and said just that. Lucy and Wendy saluted mockingly before running to do as she said.
The things that were robbed by the thieves were safely tucked in in a big bag that Erza had prepared. The thieves were tied up carefully and surely by the three mages.
After their work, they went on to the management where they surrendered the thieves and went on their way to the mayor to recover their reward.
The group happily skipped onto the train station for a rest.
"Eeeeiiii...!" Juvia released a bolt of water, effectively immobilizing the monster in front of her. The said monster roared loudly in pain as the water mage prepared her final attack. "Water Nebula!"
A gushed of water hit the monster, and it touched the ground with a loud thud.
It didn't twitched after a little while.
Juvia Lockser grinned brightly at her work. "Juvia's done. It is time to collect Juvia's reward." she told herself and walked towards the town of Acalypha when upon reaching its entrance to town, she noticed four figures standing in front of it with their back on her.
She went closer and felt something different from them. It was that when she was still a few meters from them that she heard a familiar voice speaking to her.
And it was one of the figures in front of her.
"What a pleasant surprise meeting you here, Juvia Lockser."
Her eyes widened and she prepared a fighting stance.
The figures turned around to face her.
Her eyes narrowed as she stared at them.
"What are you doing here?!" she demanded with her low serious voice.
The three of the four statures removed their cloaks from their head, revealing their enemy before. The people who kidnapped Lucy to revived her mother.
Juvia prepared for an attack but she was stopped by the blond haired girl. The bluenette's eyes widened. When did she...
The girl behind her smirked evilly, very happy with the shocked look on the fairy tail water mages' face. "Sorry about this, girl."
Juvia hopped out of the way as she landed a few meters away from Athena.
The blond haired girl smiled. "Wow, you are fast."
"Yes, she is different from the others."
Juvia glanced at the blond haired boy who spoke.
The oldest man, who she knew the name as Zen, as she heard from Lucy, spoke also, surprising her. His voice was deep but there was the hidden meaning of his voice.
Juvia could tell that this man was strong. The twins were strong but he was stronger. But she couldn't go back now. For some reason, she felt that the reason they were there because they were planning something bad.
She narrowed her eyes again and looked at the older man.
"Juvia is asking you, what are you doing here?"
The last figure walked towards her, getting her ready but she stopped soon and the person removed her cloak from her head.
Juvia gasped with her eyes wide as she stared at the blonde haired woman, who looked a lot like...
"Lucy..."
Natsu and the others arrived at the guild earlier than expected. The rowdiness of their guild welcomed them as they went inside. Mirajane welcomed them with a bright smile. "Welcome back you guys."
"Aye!" the exceed replied brightly and Lucy sat down by the bar. " Thanks Mira-san."
"You're all back so early..." she said staring at the blonde hair who was sprawled on the counter table.
Lucy groaned. "It is an easy mission for those three Mira-san."
The bar maid raised an eyebrow in confusion. "What happened?"
Wendy smiled as she looked up at her. "Erza-san, Natsu-san and Gray-san finished the job on their own."
Lucy pouted as she added. "More like we are the ones who gathered up the robbed things of the citizens."
Wendy and Mira giggled.
"Well, it's nice that you are all back safe with your reward."
"Hmmm."
The main boys of the guild went back to their brawling as soon as they arrived inside making the girls shook their heads.
"Zen, who is this girl?" she asked. Juvia couldn't help but stare at her. She looked like an older version of her fellow guildmate. But as she could remember from last time, this woman was strong enough to push them to get out of their base.
Zen looked at her and closed his eyes. "She is... a member of Fairy Tail."
With that, the woman's eyes changed. From calm and calculating, to angry and furious.
But why?
The older blond woman clenched her fist and removed her cloak completely revealing her long tight black dress with its skirt back longer than its front. The back of it reached her lower knee while the front skirt was until an inch above her knee. A yellow thick belt wrapped around her waistline. There was a holster at the right side of her thigh. She gazed at her comrades and declared, "Do what you have to do with the town." She stood in front of the blue haired girl.
"I will take care of her."
Zen chuckled and nodded. "Alright but take care, Layla."
"I will."
Zen faced the town entrance and called out to his children. "Athena, Cygnus, let us go."
"Yes, father."
And they were gone.
"Wait...!" the water mage was interrupted by a sudden force, sending her flying against a tree.
She gasped in pain and bit her lip. She tried to change her body into water, but she was shocked that she couldn't.
"Surprised?" Layla asked as she walked closer to her. "You are the only water mage of that guild, am I right?"
The girl didn't reply and just glared at her.
"Athena touched you earlier. I am sure you know about her ability."
Juvia's eyes widened in realization. She absorbed my power! She thought disappointed that she let it happen.
"I will never hold back. I will kill you! I will kill every mages in that evil guild!" Layla roared as she released a bright light from her right hand towards Juvia.
The water mage gritted her teeth as she pushed herself to move out of the way.
The tree and the ground where she was were not there anymore. The blue haired girl stared at the damage done by her power. She was too powerful. Without her powers, she wouldn't stand a chance. All she could think of was that the town would be able to seek help from the outside. And with that, the news would surely reached her guild and they would save the town.
For now, all she had to do was to hold them back. She had decided.
She would protect the town even in the cost of her life.
She ran towards the entrance like her life depended on it. She knew that Layla was following and that was good. She wasn't worried for the safety of the town's people as long as her attention was on her. Though, she wasn't sure about the three.
Gray looked around as he ordered a drink. He sat next to Wendy who sat next to Lucy. Mira gave him his favorite ice water.
Lucy noticed that he was looking around the guild and curiosity got the better of her. "Gray, are you searching for someone?"
"No, I'm just wondering if Juvia is here already..." he replied nonchalantly, stirring his drink. The white haired bar maid, the blond haired celestial mage and the blue haired sky dragon slayer gasped and stared at him with mischievous eyes.
"Ehhh... You are wondering, huh?"
"Someone wants to see Juvia..."
"Juvia-san will be happy to know you care for her, Gray-san!"
The ice mage glared at them. "Guys! It's not what you think okay?" he shook his head as he added, "She is nakama. I'm just wondering if she's already finished with her mission or something. She came ahead of us, after all, that's it!"
But the girls were not convinced. Their eyes shone bright with tease. He sighed and turned his back on them as he muttered. "Tsch, girls."
Zen and the others stared at the town as they stood at the clock tower at the center of the town. He smirked. "Time for the main show."
"Yes father." The blond haired twins nodded and flew on opposite directions.
Soon, sounds of explosions and screams of people were heard around him. He closed his eyes and inhaled and exhaled deeply as he grinned evilly, his eyes narrowing.
"Looks like everything will be in motion tonight."
"Mayor! Mayor!" a member of the city hall called out. The Mayor heard the explosions and screams of the people and he was panicking inside but he couldn't show his weakness to his people. They have to be calm to solve this problem.
"What is happening, Ru?"
"Sir! There are invaders sir!" he responded, a bit panicky. "They are destroying every piece of buildings in town! The citizens are running around and it is possible that a stampede might happen!"
The mayor paced around his office thinking of a solution. He suddenly remembered something from early morning that day. "What about the water mage from Fairy Tail? Is she back yet?"
"That's—"
"Sir!"
Another voice interrupted and it was his secretary. "What is it, Miya?"
"Miss Lockser is in the premise sir!"
"That's great! She could help us!"
"She is fighting one of the invaders and she seems to be having a hard time with it." The woman in glasses said.
The mayor sighed and came to a single conclusion. "Prepare the personal communication lacrima. We will call the Council and the her guild for back up. Move, move now!" he ordered as the two people in the room went back to follow.
"Ru! You prepare the underground passage! Guide the citizens towards the entrances. Take the guards with you. You know what you have to do!"
"Yes sir!"
The black haired man, Ru, went on his way.
The mayor of the town sighed and looked out of his window, seeing the smoke and the bright fire surrounding the town.
"I hope they come soon…" he muttered desperately.
Juvia continued to run. She looked left and right. People ran around to avoid the explosions. She stopped and looked around. She found an alley to her left and ran in it. She couldn't risk the safety of the people. As expected, Layla followed behind her and stretched her hand to release another ball of light. This time, she was shot. Her back hurt a lot at the impact. She slumped on the ground as Layla slowed her running and walked towards her.
She laughed as Juvia tried to sit up, ignoring the pain against her back. She was sure her back was burnt. She could smell her blood and her burnt dress and a part of her hair. She gagged out blood and gazed at the blond haired woman.
"You look pitiful, fairy."
Said fairy glared at her and she snickered. "You're going to die here. Don't expect that I'll let you go."
"I am not expecting anything!" she managed to say as she tried to stand up.
"I will never give up. Members of Fairy Tail never give up!" The determination in her eyes was something Layla came to noticed. She chuckled. "It would be fun breaking you, fairy tail mage."
"I know…" she nodded her head slowly, a plan forming in her mind. "I'll show you to your fairy friends. I wonder how they will react seeing their friend in her death door."
Juvia's eyes widened. No, she couldn't let them see her like this. They would worry. They would…
She didn't want her Gray-sama to see her so… so…
So… weak and… pitiful.
Without her powers, Juvia was… weak.
I couldn't do anything, it's frustrating! She thought.
"No worries dear. You death will be painful. Just like what you had done to me."
Juvia looked at her confused. "What… are you… talking about?"
Layla scowled at her and kicked her, sending her flying against the wall. Juvia let out a painful scream as she coughed out blood on the ground.
"Don't joke around with me! You are the reason why I was away from my family! Your guild use me!" She roared to her. "Your guild is evil! I hate your guild! It deserves to be destroyed!"
Juvia glared at her deadly, making Layla stopped in her tracks.
"Juvia… don't care about what you say about her…" she stood up from the ground, not breaking her glare at her. "But… I will never let you insult my guild… NEVER!"
She flew towards Layla and managed to land a hard hit on his stomach because of her momentary surprised at her declaration and moves.
Juvia continued to shower her with hits but Layla was strong enough to pushed her away after she regained her consciousness.
Layla grabbed Juvia's head and send it on the wall, hard. Juvia felt like her head was going to split open.
"That's it! You're going to die painfully. I'm going to torture you until nothing left will remain."
Juvia noticed that tears were streaming down at the side of her face. She didn't know if it was because of the pain, or because of her frustration that she couldn't do anything.

Mari: Hey! I officially graduated now from my College and currently waiting for a job I already took care of. Well, wish me luck! I am doing my other fanfiction (bleach AU) right now and I am also doing this one. This is still starting and I hope you like it. This chapter is very long and I had a hard time making it. That's why it isn't related with the last chapter's preview right? I changed it so either way, I hope you like the chapter.
They deceived Layla, making her believe that she was held hostage and sexually abused by the Fairy Tail Guild, that is why she is very mad at Juvia to the point that she wants to kill her. Well, just see what will happen. I feel bad for Juvia but I really love her. And it is also a way for Gray to realize his feelings. Tsch, boys. XD
Oh, and just telling, I love GrUvia now more than NaLu. But, since I started this as NaLu, it will end up as NaLu AND GrUvia. XD And next chapter, lots of Gray and Juvia and Natsu and Lucy…! Look forward…! I'm so excited to write it too you know?
Oh, before I forgot, Please drop by at my profile. I have an announcement there. Thanks!
Thank you for reading and please review!
Sorry for the cliffhanger…!
Next Chapter: Fairy Tail's rage knows no bounds. Hurt one of their own and you are going to your death as soon as they reach you. Literally. Lucy sees her mother and she is force to decide whether to fight her mother for her fellow guildmate or not.
