Chapter 9: We are all monsters.
Hiccups pov
I can't believe this happend.
"What is going on?"
Reachel has asked me that at least fifty times.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry..."
She looks at me with fear.
"What..."
I yell and hit the steering wheel.
"I made you a target for an extremist cult that believe they are the gods and they kill and eat the corpse whenever they make sacrifices..."
I try to look away from the roar to her but I'm speeding and rain is beginning to drop.
"You did what?!"
She starts to hit me and cry.
"You monster! You animal! You're going to eat me!"
I grab her wrists and hold them tightly.
"I won't let that happen! I'm going to make sure they don't touch you! I am not one of them!"
I yell at her and I slap her to calm her down. I stop the car and I look at her.
"I'm going to get you to safety...I know somewhere and someone who can protect you. It's out of town..."
I look at the road and I see a van waiting. I slowly reach down between the seat and the console holder.
"...get down."
I grip the pistol between the seat and I watch the van shake with a revving engine.
"Why?"
Reachel asks me with fear dripping from her lips. Like a thirsty dog begging at the sight of water.
"...lead is about to fly..."
I raise my pistol at the windshield glass and ready myself.
Reachel looks forward and sees the van speeding towards us. I let a few rounds go off and the van flipped over with a dead driver.
"Hiccup...are...are you killing them...for real...?"
I just nod as I speed away. I start to think and think about how to find John and Astrid. I remember that I put a tracking tack in John's boot.
"I'm going to drop you with an old friend...she'll get you to safety.
As we drove away I could feel something in the air. Something oh so very wrong.
With Toothless
No pov
Toothless was trying to pull the door to the dark room he and Astrid were currently being held inside of. After pulling with his might and all of it behind his will to save his girl. It was no use.
He turned and saw Astrid curled up on the floor right under the single light in the room. He walked to her and sat close to her draping a hand on her shoulder.
"Astrid? Baby...I'm going to get us out of here..."
She just shakes. Not responding. She only speaks one word and one word only.
"...Blood..."
Toothless closes his eyes and shakes his head.
"...goddamnit...she's turning...into me..."
He stands up, but he hears footsteps getting close to the door. He hides in the darkness and waits for the assassin to come in.

He was just outside. The door slowly opens.
"...shhhhiiit!"
The man is tackled to the ground and dragged into the light...and Astrid is ripping at his flesh.
Toothless only watched in horror as he watched his girlfriend eat chunks of fresh flesh off of a man that had just opened the door.
Astrid's pov
Two minutes be fore the kill.
Hunger...that's all I can think of. I'm hungry, but I'm hungry for...for...for blood...human blood.
John tries to comfort me but I just say something I thought was illegible to understand, but he knew.
He goes away and hides as footsteps get close. My tummy is rumbling, my heart is beating faster, I'm licking my lips...and as they stop and I see the shadow of two feet under the door. I think to myself.
'Im going to kill him..."
The door opens and I look at him with my eyes...and I feel a surge of energy so strong...I leap at him and I drag him to the light...
Toothless pov
Astrid had eaten everything from his heart...to his belly.
She stopped and dropped the chunk in her hands and backed away slowly. She stared at the body.
I slowly walked over to her and I kneeled infront on her.
"...Astrid...it's ok...we'll fix it..."
I try my best to comfort her but when I touch her face, she starts to cry and weep.
"I'm a monster! I just ate a person!"
Her blood stained hands grab her hair and coat what was once honey blonde into red and crimson smears.
I hug her tightly and I stroke her head gently.
"No...I'm the monster for getting you in danger...but now we have to go."
I pick her up and I walk out into the hall. It's polished pearl all around...the room is drewy and made of dirty bricks.
"...where are we?"
As soon as I said that a PA system came on and the voice of the man came on.
"...John Draco...welcome to the place you were created..."
I shake my head.
"...no..."
I say in disbelief.
"...if you are hearing this...there is no cure for the girl...only suppressants...you're in for a big fight...if you can get to the main lab with out getting the girl killed I will help you..."
I see a camera and I scream at it.
"WHY SHOULD I BELIEVE YOU!?"
I roar in anger.
"...it's the only way you're ever going to get out of here alive...and...you are the only one who can save the girl...and I'm a friend of your father..."
I roar again and I see multiple men with weapons running at me.
"I am not in the mood for this..."
With Hiccup.
No pov
Hiccup and Reachel approach an apartment door. He knocks on the door hard, a girl with brown hair opened the door.
"...Josh..."
The brunette says flatly, but with a hint of happiness.
Hiccup smiles
"...hey Heather...I'm gonna need to ask you a favor you owe me..."
The girl sighs.
"...come in..."
Hiccup and Reachel enter.
"What do you need done josh?"
Heather asks with spite as she looks at the girl behind hiccup.
"...I need you to get her out of town for a couple months. Their are people after me and I want her out of the line of fire..."
Heather scrunches up her nose.
"What's in it for me?"
Reachel stands in front of heather.
"I'll pay you."
Reachel taps her purse.
Heather smirks at her.
"...I guess I can help...but I pick the price."
Hiccup gets upset.
"...you better not do what you did last time..."
He points at her and scowls at her.
Heather slaps the hand away.
"...I'll pick the price and she's gone. I'll return to get her once it's done."
Hiccup closes his eyes.
"She needs her money...is there any other way to pay you? It's a favor YOU owe me..."
Heather looks at Reachel and smiles.
"...oooh I'll think of something..."
Reachel hides behind Hiccup and blushes heavily.
Hiccup sighs.
"...Reachel I have to leave. I need to find John...Heather will take care of you and get you out of here..."
Reachel nods and comes out of hiding.
"Reachel...I'll come back. I promise."
She hugs hiccup tightly and sniffles.
"...you better..."
Hiccup leaves the room and leaves the apartment complex. Reachel hears him speed away.
Heather comes behind Reachel and wraps her in a hug.
"...don't worry. He can do it. I know...he saved me."
Reachel turns around and hugs her.
"I hope so..."
